Andrea wished she could permanently erase any residue feelings Shane had for Lori. His fixation manifested itself in a wounded heart that refused to heal. A heart, that he had told Andrea, was "under lock and key".

Shane's pining away for Lori also came through when he (fearfully) asked Andrea if she would abandon him. He had pushed everyone from him yet again. She told him that he alienated himself when he didn't mind his presentation, although what she really wanted to say was, "Dance like nobody's watching; love like you've never been hurt."

She knew Shane wouldn't hear her.
