I... I have no excuse for not updating this story for as long as I have. As most of you know, last year wasn't really an easy year- and it's still tough! But its also become painstakingly apparent that my motivation is almost nonexistent at this point and that I've been putting this off because of that and the fact that I can't really see the story progressing much further.
I'm planning on the next chapter possibly being the last one for this fanfic. I dont really see to much of a future for this one and there are a bunch of things I want to change but I also dont want to go back and change it as it may lead to more chapters, explinations, and this fic will become more of a garbled mess than it already is.
WHEW! Anyway, I will talk a bit more about this at the next authors note in the next chapter- w
hich may be a short one so be prepared for that- and thats all I have to say right now! Enjoy this chapter that has been sitting in my folder for so long it gathered cobwebs! (Also sorry in advance for any spelling errors-)

Chapter 32 - Rescued

"Reports say All Might is still in recovery, but is doing well. As well as the UA student from Class 1-A, Katsuki Bakugo- who was rescued only a day ago now." The news reporter tapped the bottom of her papers on the desk, the sound being caught by the small microphone attached to her blouse. The women's eyes shortened as she stared at the screen, "However, Yamiyo Miyako- also in UA's Class 1-A has yet to be rescued. UA has yet to comment more about her disappearance- possibly out of guilt? Regret?" The news reporter pressed. "Police and Heroes are urging those who may have any information available to contact the number on the screen." Beside the woman, a rectangle showing an image of a brunette girl with wolf-like ears and streak in her hair. Her eyes were purple, but her right was a lighter shade with a scar going right down the right side of her face. "Once again, call this number if you know any information about Miyako."

"Dial faster!"

"I'm trying! You type when your hands are covered in fur!" Below a billboard broadcasting the current news, a small group of kids, probably no older than twelve were all huddled together. They all stared at the phone in the center of the group, watching it buzz and vibrate in small gray furry hands.

"I can't believe she's gone again.." A little girl frowned, sniffling. Her blonde wavy hair falling around her face as she hunched her shoulders, her batlike wings sagging towards the ground.

"Hey, don't get upset!" A boy pounded his chest with his fist, his while quills lightly clacking against each other on his arm. "Ms. Yamiyo said to always look on the bright side! Besides, she wouldn't want us to worry- she has proven that she can handle herself!" The boy looked back up at the screen. "If this is all we can do to help find her quicker, then so be it!"

"SHHH!"

"Hello-"

"We have information about Yamiyo!" The blondie nearly shouted to the phone, a girl with metal blades protruding from her skin shushed the blondie, glaring at the people staring at them.

The kids waited around with baited breath, hearing nothing but shuffling papers and a few shouts from the other end of the line for a few moments- although it felt like hours to the kids.

"Where is your location? We are sending over some officers to bring your all in for questioning- hey!"

"Hello?" The kids jumped slightly at the different voice on the phone. "I hope you know where UA is?"

The kids looked up in confusion, staring at each other warily. Although they knew they called the number on the news, they were a bit skeptical- nevertheless, if things went south they knew they could fight their way out if need be.

"We do."

"Alright, if you could meet me there, then we could talk more about the missing student." They shared another look. "It would be best to talk about this in person."

"Uhh.." They all exchanged glances, not sure of what to say. He hummed before bringing the phone to his face, "Ok. We'll meet you there."

"Ok. Be safe." There was a beep as the call was cut off. Lowering his phone and tucking it into his pocket, the grouped all looked at each other.

"I guess.. we should go?" The blondie mumbled, the others nodding together. They stood around for a few moments before they all turned and started walking down the road, looking up directions just in case they made a wrong turn.

It hurts.

Everything hurts.

She couldn't make out why, she just knew that she was in pain.

It felt like liquid fire was running through her entire body. A familiar, yet foreign feeling.

All she saw was a blinding white light- on occasion, some brief flashes of different colors, but they would just be swallowed up by the overwhelming white light that threatened to leave her blind.

There were a few moments where she would taste something metallic on her taste buds. It would linger for a while before eventually fading. She didn't even taste food- if she would even be given it. The only hints she got that she was fed was the faint feeling of something going down her throat.

Whenever the light was gone and she could see, she would always be in that cement room, a constricting feeling on her limbs and even a sharp pain on her lip.

I'm sorry Yamiyo. I can't stop this.

Yamiyo stared blankly at the ground, watching shoes pace in front of her as the voice was jumbled into white noise.

Yami.

Yes?

Yami.

Yamiyo?

That was my nickname. Kiko gave it to me.

she did.

I miss her.

I know.

It's empty.

I know.

When can I leave?

I'm not sure.

How long have I been unable to see?

Almost two days.

How many fights?

Yami?

Twelve.

Yamiyo jerked forward, hanging her head low as she gasped for air. Her stomach was turning and her throat burned. Her lip trembled as she gagged, her bloodshot eyes now staring completely downwards and at her lap.

She carefully stared at the multiple bloody bandages tightly wrapped around her legs. She couldn't even tell if the pain was there or not. In only two days… she was already used to the pain and couldn't tell how bad the injury was. The pain was just all blurred together and all around her body.

How many are dead?

Four.

Yamiyo's body heaved as the small meal from only an hour ago came back up, hitting the ground in a disgusting sound. The puke stuck to the muscle over her mouth, the smell only making her body heaved again.

The second round was just pure stomach acid.

Her mouth, her throat, and her eyes burned. She heard gagging noises from somewhere in front of her and only then did she look up and watch as Akukage covered his mouth and nose.

Vomit was the only thing he couldn't handle with a straight face.

"D-disgusting…" Akukage mumbled. His shaking voice only made Yamiyo grin- she felt good that he was suffering alongside her.

It almost made her want to throw up again out of spite just to keep that horrified look on his face.

He had told her before that when he started using his quirk, it made him nauseous and would make him throw up even when he barely used it. He hated throwing up and just vomit in general because of that.

Actually- that was enough to make her throw up again.

By god was she glad she did.

Akukage groaned and clutched his stomach, rushing over to the iron door and banging on it loudly, the sound echoing through the almost empty building. Yamiyo nearly- nearly laughed about how pathetic Akukage was at that moment. Slamming his fists against the door, his own meal threatening to come up. If it weren't for Akukage's banging, Yamiyo would've been able to hear Yukichi's thunderous stomps as he stormed over to her 'cell'.

Yamiyo watched as Akukage was nearly thrown back as the door slammed open, hitting the wall from the force. "What the hell-" Yukichi couldn't even finish his sentence before Akukage shoved past him and bolted out of the door and down the hallway.

Yukichi shouted something Yamiyo couldn't catch, shaking his fist out the door in- what she imagined- was a threat. She managed to keep her amused expression on her vomit covered face as Yukichi turned his dark glare to her.

Lifting up his other hand that was tightly gripping a plastic water bottle, Yukichi stomped over to her as he uncapped the bottle. Yukichi stared down at her, the corner of his mouth twitching upwards in disgust as he took a long and hardy swing of the water.

"Your pet isn't good with vomit." Yamiyo sassed, suppressing a gag at the scent of her own breath.

"I realize that. Now." Yukichi took good care in not stepping in the puddle of vomit that nearly touched Yamiyo's knees. "I'll deal with him. Later." Yukichi swished the water around in the bottle, narrowing his eyes down at her. But- despite the borderline terrifying glare- Yukichi's lips stretched into a blood curdling smile.

He was more pleasing to the eye with the scars.

"You were more pleasing to the eye with the scars." Yamiyo grunted when a steel-toed boot slammed into her gut. She was sure she would've puked again if she hadn't already emptied out her stomach not even five minutes ago.

"I'm surprised you still have the guts to speak with that silver tongue of yours." Yukichi stepped back, waving his hand to the puke on the ground. "Seems like you spilled them all over the ground."

Yamiyo laughed darkly, turning her glare to Yukichi. "Even if I spill my guts, I'll always have more than you-" A fist slammed into her cheek, throwing her head to the side.

The punch nearly dislocated her jaw.

"I don't have enough time to chat." Yukichi growled. Yamiyo stared at him, her nose scrunching up. And it wasn't from the gross smell of her stomach on the muzzle in front of her face.

"Then why the hell are you here?" Yamiyo snapped, pulling against the chains that kept her on the ground.

"I wanted to congratulate you on your past matches." Yukichi shoved the water bottle in her face and squeezed, shooting the water in her face and muzzle in an attempt to wash away the vomit. "Despite you not healing fully from your spar against Hayate, you still managed to win. You made me win a lot of bets and I now nearly have enough yen to buy two houses." Yukichi laughed as Yamiyo coughed and shook her head as much as the chain around her neck would allow.

"Great. Good for you. Can I go now?" Yamiyo rolled her eyes. She didn't give a damn about how many houses he could buy.

"No." Yukichi crossed his arms against his chest. "I own you. And I plan to use you until you break. Who knows?" Yukichi threw his arms up, a smile that threatened to split his face in half spread across his ugly mug. "I may be able to bribe the Number One hero himself in a few months!" Yukichi laughed.

That sentence made Yamiyo glare. Although she knew that bribery didn't work with every single person, there are still enough cops and law officials who would accept the bribery and overlook Yukichi and the entire fighting ring for the right amount of Yen. And right now- to Yamiyo- Yukichi seemed to be dragging her down that path.

"You won't last. You'll run out of those drugs eventually and I'll escape!" Yamiyo shouted. Yukichi stared at her, a heavy silence filling the room. For a split second, Yamiyo thought that her words finally got through that thick skull of his.

But Yukichi started laughing.

He laughed and laughed and laughed. The bastard even doubled over and wrapped his arms around his stomach.

"I will never run out. My supplier was very generous when I showed him all the Yen you made me. I have enough quirk enhancers and quirk nullifiers to last me almost a year." Yukichi stood upright, wiping literal tears from his eyes. "I've already gotten in touch with enough people to keep us out of the line of sight from heroes for a lifetime. I'm just waiting for the right time to leave. And since I'm waiting, might as well make more yen- yes?" Yamiyo took a shaky breath in, not trusting herself to say anything. Yamiyo knew for a fact that whatever came out of her mouth next wouldn't get through him and may end with her having a broken or dislocated jaw. So she just settled on giving him the dirtiest look she could.

"Get that attitude checked." Yukichi leaned forward and planted his large book into the crook of her neck, pulling her slightly downwards and to the side. Yamiyo grunted, squirming under the boot uncomfortably. "From this point on I won't be accepting that type of attitude from you."

"What makes you think you can control me?" Yamiyo snarled.

"That brand on the back of your neck." Yukichi leaned forward, pressing his boot deeper into the crook of her neck. "As long as it's there, your mine."

"And what if I told you I got rid of it?" Yamiyo's mouth opened before she could think. The moment the words left her mouth, she wished she could drag the words back into her throat and swallow them down. She could feel Yukichi's gaze on her, and her hands began trembling.

"Well… let's change that. Shall we?" Yamiyo's head snapped up, watching Yukichi's hand pull out of his pocket holding a small round half circle. Although Yamiyo was out of it when he branded her, she will always remember it.

Yamiyo started violently thrashing against the chains, pulling herself as far back as she possibly could. Away from Yukichi and the small device.

"Get your sorry asses in here!" Yukichi bellowed, stepping over her vomit to grab the chain and tug her neck upwards- but it didn't cease her thrashing.

Two men walked in, one with an obvious alligator or crocodile quirk, his head looking like the reptilian. The second man had a rather large… shell(?) on his back, almost making it seem like he was walking with a backdrop. He closed the large metal door behind him and moved slowly, but the crocodile/alligator man moved quickly and tightly gripped her shoulders with a growl. She growled right back, baring her teeth.

"Pin her down!" Yukichi dropped the chain to her neck and the man grabbed her hair by the fistful. Yukichi walked out of her vision for a moment before she heard a click and felt the chains around her neck and wrists go slack.

It was a moment of relief before she was suddenly on her stomach, the side of her head pinned to the cold cement. She squirmed and snarled, at least trying to get out of his grasp. When she heard Yukichi mumbling, that's when the panic and fear started to settle in.

I'll tear his throat!

Yami yelled, just as powerless as Yamiyo was. Yamiyo screamed, trying to lift her head but to no avail. She felt and heard the metal clasp around her neck pop off and clang to the ground. She tried to raise her arms, but they couldn't reach all the way forward towards her head. She could only raise her arms straight out behind her, no further.

A large hand pressed just between her shoulder blades, two more tightly wrapping around her wrists.

Big, fat tears ran down Yamiyo's face as she uselessly struggled as much as she could.

"Hold still." The hand between Yamiyo's shoulder blades and held her down by the base of her neck.

Yamiyo didn't even get a second of breathing time before searing pain pressed into the nape of her neck. A strangled scream pushed out of her throat, echoing throughout the empty room.

Her vision blurred with tears and blackened around the edges. Heat seared at the back of her neck, the warmth spreading to the rest of her body.

Her throat burned, her screams, cries, and pleas for it to stop just turned into white noise. Her head was swimming. Her body was on fire.

It felt like hell.

The only thing that Yamiyo felt comfort in was the sudden chill of air that filled the room.

Wait, not chill.

It was cold.

Freezing.

Yamiyo stopped screaming, her body trembling. She didn't feel hot metal pressed against her nape anymore, but the searing pain lingered.

Her eyes couldn't focus, unshed tears making her vision blurry.

"Hurry!"

"Y-you little s-shits.." Yukichi growled, followed by a grunt.

"Yamiyo- holy shit.." Yamiyo groaned in response, looking up as much as she possibly could without causing more pain.

It causes more pain.

Yamiyo sucks in a breath and blinks away the tears from her eyes, feeling them fall down her face. With her still blurry vision, Yamiyo could make out a shaggy man with long black hair and glowing red eyes crouching above her. Although his eyes weren't on her, Yamiyo couldn't help but let out a happy cry with more tears.

"Aizawa-Sensei!" Yamiyo cried, her voice cracking. Aizawa placed a careful hand on her head, slowly and gently guiding her to let her head fully rest on the ground.

"Hold on, we're getting the chains off." He gently rubbed her head in some form of comfort. She nodded, shutting her eyes tightly.

She heard a grunt before feeling and hearing the chains snap and come off one by one. Finally, the last chain was broken and she was lifted off the ground.

She violently flinched and a strangled scream came out of her mouth before she could stop it. "Yamoyo, it's me! It's Shoji." Looking up with blurry eyes. She made out the blue mask and white hair. She sobbed and curled up in his arms, keeping her head down.

"Shoji, stay behind me and get out quickly. That man's quirk freezes anyone he sees." Aizawa ordered. Just as Aizawa ordered, Shoji quickly slipped out of the room. He moved slowly to avoid slipping on the ice covered ground.

Peeking over his a th m, Yamiyo saw the ice covering the walls and ceiling, some frost on herself as well.

"Stay awake, Yamiyo. We're almost out." Shoji mumbled, keeping quiet. Yamiyo knew that was a lie, they had a few more hallways to go before they were able to get out. But she just huddled deeper in his arms and kept herself as small as possible.

"Gamblers stay late…" She mumbled, "They definitely heard you come in. They've got guns." She whispered, hands covering her head.

"Noted.." Shoji mumbled, his steps slower and he generated a few ears and eyes.

"Do you know where they would be?" He asked quietly. No reply. "Yamiyo?" He looked down to see her out cold in his arms, her fingers tightly gripping her hair. What made him pause was how shallow and quick her breathing became. "Yamiyo!"

Shoji kneeled and readjusted his hold on her, examining her place face. "Yamiyo, wake up!"

"Tentacole!" He looked up, a man with large white paws on his hands and a black mask over his eyes ran over.

"Tiger! Yamiyo's out, her breathing off." Tiger kneeled in front of him, pressing a finger to Yamiyo's neck.

"Her heart beats quick. She's most likely going into shock." Tiger quickly stood, pulling Shoji up with him. "We gotta get out of her quickly. Follow me." Tiger turned on his heel, running back where he came.

Shoji followed quickly, tightening his hold on Yamiyo. "Were almost there, please hold on.." he mumbled.

They turned the corner, more so sliding than running at this point. Just as they were about to turn the corner yet again, Shoji heard a door open and something click.

"Gambler stay late… they definitely heard you come in. They've got guns." Shoji grabbed Tigers wrist pulling back and making them fall just past the corner.

The moment they slid into the next hallway, gunfire rang through, bullets just grazing their heads. Tiger threw his arm over Shoji as they scrambled back behind the corner for cover with their backs pressed against the cold wall.

"Damnit!" Tiger cursed, turning sideways and keeping his back to the hallway to protect the students from the raging gunfire being shot mercilessly.

"What do we do?!" Shoji winced, curling in on himself and Yamiyo in response to the gunfire.

Tiger didn't respond as he pulled out a small walkie-talkie. "There's gunfire! We need backup!" He shouted, "We've got Yamoyo, someone get down here now!" Tiger pushed them both further down the hallway as the corners edge blew off from the hailstorm of bullets.

"Isn't there another way out?!" Shoji shouted, almost begging.

"No! That's the only way out!" Tiger responded, keeping an eye over his shoulder. "We can't stay here!"

"Where do we go!? There may be more people down back where we came!" Shoji slid further down.

They had no idea where to go. Their best bet was to wait until they ran out of ammo, even then their attackers most likely had quirks that could overpower them.

Just as Tiger opened his mouth, they heard loud bangs roar and a blast of fire pulsed beside them, the ice on the walls shying back away from the red flames. They flinched away from the fire, hearing screams and shouts of pain.

There was a long beat of silence before they heard hurried footsteps and Todoroki and Bakugo both turned the corner.

"Tiger!" They hurried over. Tiger pushed himself up and Shoji followed quickly. "We gotta move! They're making their way outside!"

"What about Yamiyo?" Bakugo demanded.

"She's in shock." Shoji replied, removing some of his hands and showing Yamiyos even player face.

"The. we got yo time to waste! Move it extras!" Bakugo shouted, running down the hallway. After a short second of surprise, the rest followed after.

They very pointedly ignored the unconscious and burned bodies on the floor.

Aizawa slowly inched back towards the door, keeping the three men encased in ice in his field of vision. He would hold this as long as he needed to, he couldn't afford the man to make him freeze up. Aizawa doesn't know if his quirk will work if that happens, and he can't afford to let them escape and hurt his students.

"So Eraserhead." Aizawa narrowed his eyes, "How did you find me? Was it an anonymous tip or just a lucky guess?" Aizawa kept his mouth shut. "Come on, I'm curious." Yukichi smiled, but it was closer to a snarl.

Aizawa kept his mouth shut, knowing better than to let that man get to him. The moment Aizawa would begin to talk, Yukichi had the chance to stall and keep him there until he had to blink.

And blinking could cost him his life. Especially since the man still has a gun in his ice encased hand.

"Come on Eraser! You scared?!" Yukichi yelled. Aizawa felt his hand outstretched behind him press against the iron door. "That door won't hold us!" Yukichi snarled, his voice only getting louder and louder.

"This door was made to hold Yamiyo, and it appears to do a good job judging by the marks on the inside." Aizawa observed, running his hands along the deep claw marks around the doorknob. "To avoid her unlocking it with her shadows, it is instead held closed by a very large and strong magnet that can be activated and deactivated from the outside only. I'd say this will hold you until the cops come." Aizawa couldn't keep the smile off his face as he crossed the threshold, pulling the heavy door closed as he moved.

"You asshole… I'LL KILL YOU THEN THOSE PATHETIC KIDS YOU CALL HEROES!" Yukichi screamed. "ILL ESCAPE AND I'LL KILL THEM ONE. BY. ONE! YOU HEAR ME?! I'LL KILL THEM! ILL-'' With all his might, Aizawa slammed the door shut- cutting off Yukochi's yells and threats.

Aizawa took a deep breath through his teeth, taking a second to close his fists against the door.

Aizawa didn't waste another second. Pushing off the doot, he bolted down the hallway, not caring when he slipped and almost fell a few times.

He had to reach his students. Even if it meant going through the belly of the building, nearly filled to the brim with armed gamblers… then so be it.

By the time they made it out, they had run into two more groups of armed men that were quickly taken down thanks to Todoroki and Bakugo.

But the outside wasn't any better.

Stepping over the remnants of the exploded front door (courtesy of Yaoyorozu and Endeavor), there were bodies everywhere, whether they were dead or alive was tough to tell because of the smoke covering the road. There were gunshots still going off and a black cloud flying around above it all, trying to find an exit, but two shadows with glowing eyes kept it contained.

Endeavor was making quick work of the gunmen, taking them down with fiery balls and avoiding gunshots by ducking behind debri or jumping clean over the rain of fire.

Edgeshot and Mandalay spotted them first. They both rushed over and pulled them behind an upturned slab of concrete.

"They're out! We have Yamiyo!" Edgeshot shouted into a com. He turned to the group, "The pros can deal with the rest of the villains. Gather your classmates and make a run for it!" Edgeshot folded into a long strand and flew off.

"Be careful, the people around here don't take kindly to heroes." Mandalay informed them.

Everyone! We got Yamiyo! All students please exit the vicinity! The pros will deal with everything from here on out!

Manday looked back at the students. "Be safe, and use your quirks if need be. There are police officers and medical personnel on their way, try to reach them quickly!" They nodded and Mandalay took a few deep breaths before vaulting over the concrete slab with Tiger right behind her.

"Todoroki, please hold Yamiyo!" Shoji turned to the boy, "I'll use my quirk to scout ahead!" Todoroki quickly gathered Yamiyo in his arms and nodded.

They waited, the gunshots gradually dying down until they decided it was safe enough without the danger of being shot. "Go!"

The three boys bolted, running down the street while Shoji created multiple ears and eyes to keep watch as they moved.

"You're not taking her!" They turned, Akukage suddenly diving in front of Todoroki- his hand sticking out.

Close!

His fingers barely glazed over the surface of Yamiyo's face…

"GO. TO. HELL!" Bakugo roared, a solid explosion landing on Akukage's chest- sending him flying backwards. Simultaneously, a rather large black talon stomped down on him, squishing him into the pavement.

"Yamiyo!" Tokoyami ran over, his cape almost immediately covering Yamiyo.

"Move it extras!" Bakugo shouted, shoving Todoroki and Tokoyami into a run with Shoji stumbling before regaining his position in the front.

"What about the others?!"

"Yaoyorozu and everyone else ran ahead at Edgeshots request!" Tokoyami informed them, "They shouldn't be too far ahead." They nodded, staying on high alert.

Everything else was sort of a blur… the run to catch up with their classmates was uneventful except for a few jumps and one run-in with a thug who was quickly defeated by the group.

Eventually they managed to group up with Yaoyorozu, Kiko, Tsu, Midoriya, Mina, and Jiro. They hunkered down in a fairly hidden alleyway while Yaoyorzu and Todorki worked on some of Yamiyo's injuries- prominently the re-branded skin on the nape of her neck and a few reopened wounds caused from the jostling around. Yaoyorozu was able to make multiple gauzes while Todoroki- with a metal bowl provided by Yaoyorozu- made a bit of water to help clean out Yamiyo's wounds.

The only reason they managed to come out for medical assistance was when Aizawa found them after being told a rough guess of where they ran.

Yamiyo was whisked away while Midoriya, Tsu, and Ojiro were treated on the spot for some minor lacerations and injuries. But before Yamiyo could be taken away, there was a short but firm argument if everyone could fit inside the ambulance. Buuut it was quickly narrowed down to Tokoyami, their father, and Yaoyorozu. The group managed to convince the medical team to let Yaoyorozu ride to aid in whatever way she could. Aizawa also demanded to go, but he was convinced to head back to the fight as his quirk would come in handy with rounding up the rest of the villains.

It took roughly another half hour for the thugs to surrender and less than five minutes for Akukage to be taken down with Aizawa's help, then about twenty minutes for Yukichi and his lackeys to be outsmarted and taken down as well. They had to be knocked out before they could be whisked away to custody as they continued to struggle against the heroes and resist arrest- Yukichi and Akukage that is.

However, despite their careful planning- more than a few officers were so starstruck about the incident that they couldn't help but message their coworkers who didn't go to the mission. They said more than they should've and… well… word travels fast.

But, that's something to worry about later. Right now, the heroes, officers, and students were focused on weeding out and searching every square inch of the makeshift fighting ring to get anyone else out who may have stayed behind.

They managed to find some other brawlers who were a little worse for wear… and found where they dispose of the bodies.

Thankfully, they managed to get every person out of the building, dead and alive.

It was a few days later when all evidence was gathered and the building had no more use to the authorities that the building suspiciously burned down in the dead of night. A loud roar was heard and loud booms that some had mistaken for gunfire rang out in the deathly quiet area, officially signing the winners of that battle.

I promise that I'll attempt to make some stuff make more sense next chapter and that alot of it will be fluff!
ALSO-

I will try my DAMNED best to get next chapter out sooner than a few months. no promises..
Thank you for reading! and thank you for your patience..
