The scene cut to Ash and his friends walking to the Chargestone Cave, but as they were about to enter, the entire background disappeared and nothing was left, but the group and their Pokémon in a plain white scenery.
"What happened?" Ash asked.
"I don't know." Nate said "I thought this only happened in fiction."
"Don't break the fourth wall." Misty said.
"I think I know what's happening." Brock said.
"What do you think Brock?" Ash asked.
"Pika pi!"
"I think our story is being rewritten." Brock concluded.
"Great, more fourth wall breaks." Hilda said.
"Hear me out." Brock said "Think about the early episodes that had little to no context."
"That makes sense." May said "Let's not forget that the episodes felt extremely rushed."
"Yeah." Dawn said "And there were lots of plotholes too."
"Piplup!"
"The worst offender would be the battle scenes." Max said "Whoever is writing us clearly forgot that the battles in the anime were just like the ones in the games."
"So did this just confirm that we're not real?" Tracey asked.
"I think so." Ash said "I really didn't want to have to restart my journey and forget these amazing things that have happened so far, but I'm sure when it restarts it will be better than before."
"Yeah." Nate said "Here's to the reset!"
"So I guess that confirms the rewrite." Ash said "Before we go, I gotta confess something."
"Me too." May said "Ash, I like you a lot, will you go out with me before this fanfic gets vaulted?"
"No way." Misty said "You should date me!"
"I knew you liked him!" Hilda said.
"No I didn't." Misty said "I just said I'm a better dating partner."
"Ash, I like you too." Dawn said "But I was afraid of causing issues with May and Misty."
"You need to tell us who you like." May said "Which one of us would you date?"
"I like..." Ash said, but before he could confess, a black hole appeared and sucked all of them away and credits appeared on screen.
So it's been almost five years since my last update and honestly I had lost interest for a lot of those years, but recently I have regained interest in this fanfic. But rather than continuing where I left off, I made the decision to rewrite everything I previously wrote and into something better. The first two episodes have already been completed and when a few more are done, I will begin uploading the rewritten episodes as a separate fanfiction. The current one that is available will always be on here as a reference to show how much I've improved. I'm looking forward to filling you guys in with more updates. I hope you long time fans are excited!
