Chapter 37
Introduction

The rest of the day and night flew by in a blur.

Leo vaguely remembered the toys having an argument or something, but Enix dealt with it.

He also did catch a conversation...about him, but honestly he wasn't surprised.

It wouldn't matter anyways, soon they would see how capable he was, they would see all that he had worked for this time.

Leo was more than excited to wait outside the restaurant for the Alder car to drive up.

"...what are you doing?" The voice of Enix made him jump and look at the tall man next to him.

Apparently Leo standing outside waiting in the empty parking lot was extremely suspicious.

"Er...waiting for the boss to arrive." He said, lying would only be beneficial if Enix left...so…

"Boss? You mean John? He doesn't get here till nine." The other guard challenged and Leo nodded.

"Yes, well...our other boss. The new one in fact." Then he paused and bolstered himself up a bit, standing taller, "we had a conversation yesterday over the phone and he wants to have a meeting with me." He fibbed...well sort of fibbed, it was a half truth really.

"...just you?" The blue haired man asked hesitantly, Leo nodded with a frown.

"Of course, I'm head guard after all. He said he wanted a status report on you two." He poked Enix in the chest, before looking up at him again.

Dang sometimes he got dizzy looking up at this man.

...or maybe that was because he hadn't eaten in nearly twelve hours…

No he was sure it was the height thing.

"Uh huh...well, do you need me to stay?" Enix asked, finishing with a stretch and yawn.

Leo knew that even if he wanted the man to stay, he couldn't do it to him while he was in this state.

"No. It's fine, I'll just stay here." He shrugged him off, Enix nodded with another yawn, he didn't bother to respond, just waved at him aimlessly as he went over to his motorbike.

Leo watched him walk away and pursed his lips a bit.

Enix looked tired a lot recently.

...was it because of him?

He watched him take off on the bike and leave. The guard then proceeded to take a breath and sit down on the curb waiting for the boss's car to arrive.

It didn't come till seven, which meant Leo waited for about forty minutes outside.

He could almost feel the questioning eyes of the animatronics on his back.

Finally, a black Mercedes pulled into the parking spot next to Leo.

The guard jumped to his feet and brushed off his shirt taking a deep breath. He had talked to Scott about this the night before. Everything was going to be fine.

He hoped.

Alder...the guy he did not know the first name of...had he said it?

Dang it he couldn't remember.

"Hello sir!" Leo greeted and then internally cringed at himself. The man stepped out of his vehicle and took a breath coming over to Leo.

"Hello." He greeted passively and the guard bounced on his feet, doing his best to keep calm.

"Hello sir, I'll take you right inside. This should not take long at all. I've already prepped him and stuff...so, he is in the parts and service room." Leo informed and Alder merely nodded looking around absently. The guard took a breath and took him inside, the animatronics were back on stage, but Leo could feel their eyes upon him. He offered a reassuring smile before taking Alder to the back room.

Boy he knew they were going to have a lot of questions for him later.

As they got closer to the room, the more nervous Leo got, "so, the...A.I has aged some, and he is very aware for a animatronic...but I don't think he will be able to do stage work well." But Alder didn't seem to warrant it a response.

Leo felt like he was about to explode with anxiety.

Alder stepped into the room, and Leo scrambled in after him.

As they had discussed, Scott was waiting leaning against the table.

William wasn't sure if he was nervous or feeling impatient.

It was difficult to tell sometimes, they had many of the same symptoms.

He had heard of Alder, he even recalled that whole incident where he took everyone by surprise that he had bought the company.

Springtrap knew the meeting between them was inevitable.

He just had to make a good impression, and figure out how to get a job that wasn't completely unbearable.

"Greetings sir." He kept his voice calm and pleasant. The animatronic man wasn't sure how the woman managed to do it, but she somehow got his mouth to move whenever he "spoke". "Leo has told me that you are the owner of this company?"

William watched as the man stepped slightly to the side in a half circle around the animatronic bunny. His movements were watched by the now repaired bunny, and Leo stood by the door wringing his hands together.

"He does seem to be in very good condition." The man cast his eyes up at William, "he also seems good at tracking things." He moved a bit side to side and Springtrap did his best to follow him with his head and eyes.

The man turned back to Leo and pulled out a small black device that William believed was called a phone.

That's what Leo had said anyways.

"It seems he is in very good condition. Now, we can't build another part of the restaurant for him. And both stages are full..." he paused looking up from his phone and turning back to William. "In the files, it mentioned the animatronics walking around and entertaining the children." Gray eyes examined the rabbit animatronic before turning back to Leo. "This will be your responsibility. There will be no incidents or you will be held responsible." He warned, and the guard nodded, standing up straighter and changing from his normal slouched position.

"Of course sir! Thank you, I will make sure that there are no problems sir! Thank you very much!" He exclaimed, and William was sure he was about to burst.

The man merely nodded and left the room. Leo leaned out the door and waved but the man didn't turn around.

Leo turned back into the room and let out a breath with a smile, "it worked! It worked!" Springtrap nodded and looked down at his hands.

"I'm certainly glad to no longer look like garbage." He turned his attention to Leo again, "so, when would you like to introduce me to the others?" At that the man's smile dropped. He paused and clasped his hands before him looking at the ground.

"Yeah...we probably should do it now. I need to inform John so he can put an announcement on the door and such..." he trailed and William nodded.

"Yes, that would be wise."

Springtrap knew that Leo would defend him, but he would have to take care of the children. That would be part of the problem.

But it would be fine.

"Well then, are you ready?" He pressed, the man jumped and looked up before nodding and taking a breath.

"Okay, okay yeah." He took a breath and stepped out of the room, William followed after.

This was going to be fine, they weren't going to thwart his plans.

When they stepped into the main room Leo thought he was going to puke.

Well, there was no turning back now.

The animatronics on stage turned to look at him...and then behind him. The guard took a hard breath and stood up straighter, this was it, this was his chance to prove to them that this was going to work.

"Hey guys...so...I kinda...have an announcement to make?" That came out a lot less bold than he intended. He could hear the gears and joints of the animatronic behind him shifting about and that caused him to take another breath and step to the side, allowing full display of the reconstructed rabbit.

"This is Scott. I've been working on getting him out of the wall and repairing him for the past month or so. I have spoken with Alder about it and he can be a part of the restaurant staff now." He went on to explain, but the silence continued, if a pin dropped it would startle everyone in the room.

"Leo? What's going on?" The voice of Steven made them all jump, it had only been the originals in the front room and the blue bunny was the first of the toys to migrate over.

"Oh uh, hey Steven, this...this is Scott. I was just...making introductions." He wet his lips as all of the toys were suddenly in the entrance to their room gazing at the bunny behind him.

The guard shifted again at the silence and looked around letting out a nervous laugh, "one at a time now, let's not all greet him at once." He tried as a joke but it fell flat, a large hand found itself on his shoulder and he glanced up at the bunny before he let his shoulders drop.

This...wasn't going bad, but it wasn't going well either…

"I'm sorry if this introduction is rather odd, you may not remember me, but my name is Scott Purple. I used to work here...a few years ago in fact. Well, I say used to, but I'm still technically here." He removed his hand from Leo's shoulder and shrugged, "for a period of time I was a night guard, but like many of the night guards before Leo, you all stuffed me inside of a suit." He put his paws on the chest of the suit, just below his large purple bow. "This suit in fact." He put a paw on Leo's shoulder again and looked at him before back at them, "Leo has been working with Joey to repair my systems." The animatronic man informed.

"Y...you're...you're Spring Bonnie..." Fred said his eyes wide, Scott and Leo turned to him confused.

"Wait...but I thought you guys were after them?" The guard asked, and Steven, whilst staring brow furrowed, mocked a breath.

"Yeah...but the Puppet told us about the first generation, where we all came from and such. Fredbear and Spring Bonnie." He tilted his head and stepped closer, Leo watched him carefully as he did. "I just...where did Leo find you?" The blue bunny turned to the generation before his, "did you guys know about Spring Bonnie being around still?"

Freddy shook his head as the chicken and rabbit looked to him questioningly, "no, we...don't remember a lot, it could've been the chi-...chil-...childReN..." his voice grew warped and garbled toward the end and Leo's brow furrowed and he darted over to the originals.

"Hey, you okay?" He asked, only for the bear to lean over holding his head with a groan, a groan from both his mouth and his joints.

"Freddy? Freddy what's wrong?" Chica asked, placing a hand on his back, the bear abruptly growled and stood up, the bird flinched away and Bonnie took a step toward Leo grabbing his arm and pulling him away.

The guard wanted to protest but knew it wasn't the time.

He watched as the bear stood up with glowing eyes, he couldn't help but swallow back and step back further into Bonnie's hold.

Oh ****...he didn't even think of how the kids would feel, would they be angry?

They had been so quiet lately…

"I remember! I remember it all! I will-" the bear stopped the beginning of what would be a rant suddenly as he stared at the tan bunny before him. Leo frowned looking at Gabriel and Scott.

Scott merely stared back calmly unfazed by any of this.

"Don't like being reminded of what you did to others huh?" He asked, and Leo blinked at the edge in his voice.

It was probably the first time he heard Scott sound like anything but calm or worried.

"W...what?" The boy in the bear suit asked, and a chuckle came from the bunny that made Leo turn to look at him.

He had yet to move, but was staring calmly at the bear as everyone watched this interaction.

Well, Leo did most of the time, except for when one of the toys would suddenly flinch or spaz out and return to normal a second later.

All the kids were kicking up a fuss, but not one as powerful as Gabriel's yet.

"You heard me, it's no fun to come face to face with the victim of the same crime that was acted upon you. Is it?" Scott pressed, and Leo looked back at Gabriel, the bear was staring his paw clenched into his fist.

His trembling fist.

Leo wasn't sure what reason it was trembling...but he kinda hoped it was a little guilt.

Was that wrong of him?

"Shut up! Shut up!" Gabriel ordered, and Leo jumped at the shout, "you aren't like us! You aren't us! You deserved it!" The child barked, and Leo let out a hard breath.

"Oh yeah? Just like I did? Just like Ashford did? What the **** is wrong with you?! We as guards have done nothing wrong! You hunt us down at night and stuff innocent people into empty suits just like you were! Of course there are going to be some that can't move on! Scott has a family! A wife! Two sons and a daughter! But do you care about the fact that you have ripped a father from a child!? No! You don't even try and see if they are bad people! You just assume! Because one guy murdered you! You think all adults are bad! I still walk with a limp because of you influencing the animatronics! Ordering them to do what you want when they had nothing to do with your deaths! They just want to be performers and make you all happy! Why do you have to put them and other people through the same hell that you went through!?" He demanded finishing off his rant with a hard breath, Gabriel looked at him...they all were looking at him, eyes flickering between normal and glowing. Leo had the soap box, and he was going to use it. "So guess what!? Scott over there is under my protection! He is my responsibility and if he does anything then it will be on me! But if you want to go through him! Then you will go through me alright!?"

Silence dropped over the room like an anvil.

"B...but..." Gabriel tried, but Leo just stared at him evenly.

"The restaurant isn't open, so I can't get fired for saying this. But I am tired of you guys always assuming the worst of someone. I have been talking with Scott for months now. I think I would know if he was a bad guy. No one can lie for that long. You are ready and willing to accept Enix, who you have known for less time than me. You didn't treat him like ****, but my bones were broken. So yes, I am kicking a fuss, you touch him? You deal with me. So ****ing shut up Gabriel." Those five words made everyone's eyes widened.

Instant regret flooded him, that was...probably a bit too far…

But it was out now…

And he had to back it up.

He saw the whites of Gabriel's eyes turn red, and the guard realized he just ****ed up.

"What happens if you kill him hm? There will be no one to watch...no one to keep you children safe." Scott's course, yet somehow still smooth and soothing voice caused all into the room to turn to him. "I know personally...that these suits aren't invincible. If there is one thing worse than being trapped in a suit like this." He tilted his head down for emphasis, all the animatronics were watching, but by their faintly glowing eyes, Leo knew the children were listening as well. "Is being trapped in a broken and busted one." He let out a breath and continued, "there is a new boss, what do you think he will do if he finds out that you are all haunted? Hm? You think he will let that continue? What simplistic childish ideals. You have a good thing going here, all I'm asking is to be able to enjoy life like you guys have been able to." Then he paused and let out a chuckle, "or at least, what remains of life." The bunny proceeded to spread his hands with a shrug, "and honestly, what harm can I do? I will be around you all."

There were several moments of silence as everyone thought. Leo glanced around, hands clasped before him. Mangle just wouldn't stop staring at the animatronic man.

Foxy was also staring but he looked confused.

Finally...Gabriel slumped over and had to be caught by Chica. Once he lifted his head, it was revealed that it was Freddy once more.

Now seeing that it was safe, Leo took a breath and crept over to where Scott was again. He looked at everyone and raised an eyebrow.

"Everyone...cool now?" Casting a glance back at Scott indicated that he was asking him as well.

The rabbit nodded, placing a hand on his shoulder again, and Leo looked over to the others once more.

Slowly...all of them nodded, everyone but Bonnie, he was only staring on quietly. Leo decided not to make a fuss of it this time. But he would certainly talk with him later.

However, this was good….overall this went better then he expected. It was only the children who had a problem.

This was good...perfect in fact. Things were working out very well.

Springtrap. Was very happy.

Sorry if it's a bit short! It just seemed like a appropriate place to end, so here we are! I hope you guys enjoyed it!

What did you think of Scott/Springtrap's interaction with the animatronics and children? Do you think he plans on doing anything bad? Any ideas as to what his plans are? What of Leo? Do you think he made the right move or no?

I'd love to hear what you think!
