Love Quote #37.- "I know it's hopeless when you're my answer to every question."

It's Hopeless

Andrea paced back and forth on Hershel's property. Earlier, she had been milling around the camp that Rick's group had set up outside. Hershel still wanted them to leave, but he permitted them to live on his front lawn. She was glad she was by herself because if Dale was around, he'd corner her and try to elicit from her why she was pacing around so frantically. And knowing Dale, he'd pin it all on Shane. Dale was in his RV talking with Glenn and she was content to let him stay there.

The reason she was antsy was because of all the questions flying around in her mind. It wasn't even the questions as much as it was the answers. The answers were always the same. Shane. (So in that sense, Dale would've hit the mark.) Andrea wasn't sure if she should be upset or at peace with the fact that the answer remained consistent.

As she walked around the lawn, she reviewed the questions in her mind again: who gave her a brief lesson on cleaning her gun? Who did she share with about her father? Who wanted to leave the group and venture out on his own? Who made her feel like she could do more for the group? Who badgered her when he gave her shooting lessons? Who made the most sense out of everyone in the group? Who understood the reality of living in a broken world? Whose devilish smirk made her want to know him more? Was she the only third wheel in the group? If the answer was "no", then who was the other odd one out? Who did she sleep with when they were out there? Who did she hope to sleep with again—because the first time was amazing and a much needed release? Who did she connect with the most in the group?

Andrea circled the barn now and was about to do so again when she saw Shane approaching her. A dark scowl was plastered across his face, but rather than being put off by his angry expression, she wanted to find out what bothered him. They had been bonding more, even though she sensed that Shane kept her at a distance. Still, it was nice to befriend someone who felt as she did: the group was unrealistic and needed to take stronger measures to protect themselves. It helped her to feel less alone, and at the same time, she felt strengthened when around Shane. As she started towards him, she smiled to herself and the thought flashed across her mind: I know it's helpless when you're my answer to my every question…
