Summer Bay Beach

"Where did I go wrong?" Brax sighs.

"You haven't." Ricky says, leaning her head against his shoulder. "He's only just started acting up like this, so maybe he's going through something."

"He usually tells me when he's going through stuff, he doesn't take it out on everyone else." Brax says, wrapping an arm around her.

"Maybe he doesn't know how to tell you."

"No, this is because I don't put him first anymore. I don't know how to do things right for this family anymore."

"You're doing great with them. Casey just needs to learn that he can't rely on you anymore. Just give him time to realise that he can't keep acting like this." Ricky says. "On the plus side, I had a call from Kyle when you were with Casey."

"Yeah?"

"He said he's spending the rest of the day with Emily after they came to an agreement to take things slow." She smiles. "He sounded so happy for the first time since all this started unravelling."

"He decided to take your advice then?" Brax says. "Can't say I like her after what she did but if it makes him happy." He shrugs.

"It does make him happy and you know it would make him happier if you could be nice to her." Ricky says.

"And what happens the next time she breaks his heart? Am I meant to act as if I didn't know it would happen at some point again?"

"No Brax, because she loves him and made a mistake." Ricky says. "We've both made mistakes and now look at us."

"We weren't together then." Brax says, knowing what she was on about.

"We still slept with other people even though we hadn't officially broken up. Just give Kyle a chance with Emily and if you still feel like she isn't being genuine, then you can make it known that you simply don't trust her." Ricky says.

"I thought she was good for him if that makes you feel better." Brax says.

"If this goes really well for them, what are you going to do when Kyle decides that he wants to marry her?"

"Kill him." Brax jokes, getting a whack on the chest. "They've only just started working through things. I've got a while before we get to that point." He says, glancing to the side as one of the triplets approaches him.

"Hi." Lucas smiles as he sits in front of them.

"What do you want?" Ricky grins, noticing his mischievous look.

"Nothing." Lucas shakes his head. "Heath kicked me out of the house to spend private time with Bianca and Casey's in a mood, so I'm keeping out of his way."

"Well now you're here, can you tell me what you were on about this morning with the deliveries?" Brax asks.

"Before I do, I want you to know that you didn't tell me there were deliveries due, so I knew where nothing went." Lucas says, slightly frowning at how amused the couple looked. "You didn't call me telling me they were coming like the guys told me you did, but then Heath said he called me ordering lunch when he in fact called Kyle."

"Yeah, Kyle showed us the voicemail." Ricky chuckles.

"That's not the point. I had a meltdown unpacking the boxes because Heath's order was ready before he could help. He said where it went but said it too fast, and then Emily's dad turned up leaving a message for Kyle, so I forgot where the boxes went." Lucas explains. "Heath said to blame it on someone else if you complained about it, so I blamed it on him, which he wasn't very happy about. I'm just still getting used to all this and I think I'm going good."

"Lucas, during your first week, I showed you where everything went." Brax says, Lucas frowning at him. "I showed you the stock list and where you could find it in the storeroom. You've done four stock takes for me and you done them really well. It's basically the same, apart from you put the stock back on the shelf instead of counting it." He smirks.

"And what about the old stock?"

"You put it at the front and if it's close to the end date, you put it in an empty box and move it to the side. But that rarely happens as we always use everything" Ricky says.

"What happens to it if it's near the end date?" Lucas asks.

"Well if you're really like Kyle, you'll eat it on your break long before it gets to its end date." Brax says.

"I found some orange juice in the office, was that his?" Lucas asks.

"Yeah, he has some weird obsession with it, so he puts extra down on the order list." Brax says. "Don't drink it or he won't be happy."

"I already tried some and didn't like it that much. The apple juice was really nice though." Lucas says.

"I'll make sure Brax orders you some of your own next time he puts an order in." Ricky smiles.

"Thank you." Lucas smiles.

"What is it with you two?" Brax scoffs. "You know that's meant for customers?"

"Yep." Lucas nods.

"Why do I get the feeling that's not what you were here about?" Ricky says to him.

"Because it's not." Lucas mutters. "But you have to promise to not be mad."

"I don't even have anything else to worry about right now, so if it's bad, save it." Brax says.

"It's not bad because it's gone now, so all is good." Lucas says.

"What's gone?" Ricky frowns.

"Tyler." Lucas says.

"Start talking." Brax firmly says.

"He came to see me because mum kicked him out when he went home. He just wanted to catch up about what we've both been up to and then he left." Lucas says.

"He came and left, just like that?"

"Yep." Lucas nods. "He apologised for threatening me the last time I saw him. He was really different."

"Different how?" Ricky asks.

"I don't know, I couldn't work it out." Lucas shrugs. "I'm usually good at working him out, I couldn't this time. Maybe it's because I haven't seen him for a while."

"Do you miss him?"

"It sounds mean and I don't want to be mean, but I haven't as much as I thought I would." Lucas mutters. "I have Kyle here, and he's a lot kinder than Tyler and he doesn't make me do things that I don't want to. He also doesn't make me be the sober one on a night out to drive him home, and then end up going home with a girl so I could have drank. I can be my own person here."

"How moving." Brax says, smirking as Ricky whacks him again.

"That hasn't changed much, Tyler was like that as well." Lucas scoffs. "Maybe it comes with our dad's genes."

"Maybe." Ricky says.

"You don't have to change yourself to fit in with us, just be yourself and you'll be fine." Brax says. "And if Heath bosses you around, you ignore it or he won't stop bossing you around. Kyle learnt that the hard way."

"How come?"

"It was when he hadn't lived here long. He was trying to not to get on the wrong side of us and Heath took advantage of that." Brax says. "He realised he was being used and decided to get his own back on him."

"Really?" Lucas frowns. "How did he get his own back."

"He asked Casey for help." Ricky says. "I think that's actually when they started to bond a little."

"Yeah, it was thinking about it." Brax says. "Then Tamara left the scene and things changed between them."

"Who's Tamara?"

"She was the girl who played them off each other." Ricky says. "They were basically in a love triangle and she loved all the attention."

"So she's one of the exes that cheated on Kyle?"

"Yes and no." Ricky says.

"It was a really complicated relationship." Brax says. "It's best not to bring her up, especially now Kyle's back with Emily."

"Wait, Kyle's back with Emily?"

"He called saying they're working through things." Ricky smiles. "You should have heard how happy he was." She grins, so glad that Kyle could work past his insecurities to be with the girl he loved.

"I'm happy for him. I could see it's what he really wanted." Lucas smiles.

"What about you, anyone you like?" Ricky asks.

"Nope. I've wanted to get to know all of you properly before I get to know someone else." Lucas says. "This family is hard to get my head around. There's so much to remember."

"You haven't even got everything yet. Even I'm finding new stuff out." Brax says.

"Like what?" Lucas asks.

"Like you asking a lot of questions the same as Casey does." Brax says.

"That's a good thing. Means we're inquisitive and willing to learn." Lucas says, grinning at him.
