Blind Eye 4-9

Episode 4 Part 9

After the girls stashed their costumes in the back of Lisa's closet they went back down to the cave and took their horses back to Pine Hollow. Then Elle called her chauffer to take them home.

The next day, Lisa was grooming Pegasus when Rafael appeared. Lisa was just reaching to pick up her curry comb when she looked up and saw him standing there.

Without smiling or doing anything else to acknowledge his presence she just turned back to what she was doing.

Rafael sighed.

"Look Lisa," he said, "You don't have to talk to me, but just Listen okay?" Lisa put down the curry comb, turned toward him, folded her arms across her chest and regarded him with a cold stare.

"You know you must have a real bond with diablo," said Rafael, "Because even he was mad at me after you and Elle left last night. He wouldn't come near me and I had to walk the five miles back to my camp!"

Lisa's face remained impassive, but inside she thought wryly,

"Good for you, Diablo."

"Anyway," said Rafael, "It turns out that long walk was the best thing that could have happened to me. Because, I was left alone with what you said running around in my head and nothing to do but think about it. I realized you were right. I was judging Selena by her clan and that wasn't fair. After all Valentino, a huge troublemaker, was born into my clan. But, that doesn't mean the whole clan is bad, and just because a clan has a bad reputation; that doesn't mean that each individual member should be judged by that reputation.

So, I talked with My grandfather. Tell Selena there's a place for her in the Moondance clan if she wants it."

Rafael finished his speech and waited with baited breath because Lisa's expression hadn't change through the whole thing!

Slowly Lisa's face widened into smile.

"Oh, Rafael that's wonderful!" she cried giving him a big hug.

"As soon as I'm finished here, I'll tell her." Said Lisa

That afternoon Lisa and Elle called a meeting at the secret lounge. Everyone was there except Stevie. Lisa was pacing the floor looking at her watch.

"What is taking Stevie so long." She muttered to herself, "Why did she have to pick today to be late?!"

A few minutes later, Stevie came hurrying in.

"Sorry, Sorry," she said, "I know I'm late. Today was my day to do laundry and for some reason Alex and Michael decided to have a mud fight in the back yard and on top of that I had to wash Chad's grimy hockey uniform, I swear had to run the same load three times!"

"You poor thing," said Carol

"I wish my brothers would do their OWN laundry!" grumbled Stevie

"All right," said Elle, "We have some vital information to share with you guys."

"What is it?" asked Stevie

"The Sundance Clan has been working for Reggie?" said Lisa

"King Lucien admitted it last night when we were warning him to leave Selena alone." Said Elle

"Oh, I should've known!" snapped Carole

"Yeah," agreed Stevie, "Reggie wrote the book on holding grudges."

"Okay," said Lisa, "That means that our next target is Reginald Van Forsythe!"

Stevie punched her fist into the palm of her other hand.

"This is going to be fun!"

"First we have to find Reggie," said Elle, "and as cocky as he is, I don't think even he'd be dumb enough to go back to his old estate, that would be the first place anyone would look."

"I think I might have an idea," said Stevie who was staring at one of the horse magazines on the coffee table.

"This magazine says that tomorrow night the Van Forsythe family is hosting a reception and fundraiser over in Bridgetown for the National Dressage and Show Jumping Association scholarship fund." Said Stevie holding up the article, "Reggie would never not show up at a place where he was supposed to show off!"

Lisa looked around and smiled.

"Do you guys feel like crashing a party?"
