Friday Night SmackDown was live at the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee. Things had been set for Backlash on SmackDown's side of things. During the WWE Draft, John Cena defeated Edge to become the Number One Contender for Bladewolf's World Heavyweight Championship, but Vickie Guerrero announced that Edge still had his rematch clause, so it will be the Bladewolf vs Edge vs John Cena at Backlash for the World Heavyweight Championship.
OOOOOWHOOOOOO!
The Devil's Wolf hit to cheers from the fans as the lights dimmed to the sinister blood red and out comes the Bladewolf with Trish Stratus at his side and the World Heavyweight Championship around his waist. They pause on the stage and Trish circles her husband, running her hand across his chest, back, and shoulders before seductively leaning against him then arched her back in a seductive manner before she begins sauntering forward with a sway in her hips, the Bladewolf walking beside her.
They reach the ring and Bladewolf gets onto the apron, holding the ropes open for Trish who seductively gets in, getting wolf whistles from the fans. Bladewolf's theme dies down as the stand in the middle of the ring, Trish grabbing a microphone while Bladewolf adjusted his hood.
"At WrestleMania...what he said did happen." Trish chuckles, almost evilly. "At WrestleMania, he became the World Heavyweight Champion. My husband, the Bladewolf, took what Big Show, Edge, and John Cena had to throw at him...and he stuck them into the ground!"
She hands the microphone to her husband who stares darkly ahead. "At WrestleMania...the fates of those three men were sealed when I defeated them and became the World Heavyweight Champion. I don't talk about taking souls and hurting my victims...I just do it and take a GREAT sense of pleasure in it. At Backlash...John Cena and Edge tempt their fate once again with me. To stand before me...is to fall before me, and that is exactly what will happen to Edge and John Cena at Backlash as I take every part of them, their souls, their lives, their essence...and drag them to Hell! Edge, you will be punished for your sins against me and my wife, for putting your hands on her. To do so...is to suffer a torture no mortal mind can create. It's a torture reserved for the worst in Hell. At Backlash...I am going to dish out the worst kind of pain, suffering, and torture on you. John Cena...your determination is...admirable in your desire to be champion again, but you will suffer as well. They say the anticipation of death...is far worse than the death itself. I will let you both decide, because at Backlash I am coming for your souls. So until Sunday, I'm gonna leave you both with a few things to think about. I want you to think about the pain, suffering, and torture I will put you though, I want you both to think about your cold lifeless bodies being sent down to the fiery depths of Hell! The both of you shall burn...burn...in...hell!"
Bladewolf drops the microphone before he got to a knee and does the Undertaker salute, causing fire to shoot out from the turnbuckles as his theme played. Bladewolf got to his feet and stared ahead as Trish leans against him before they both leave the ring and head up the ramp to the back...
