Tsuyu Asui sat on the side of Selkie's ship, breathing in the ocean air. It was her last day with the agency… she had learned a lot.
Asui had been instrumental in taking down a band of drug smugglers. When two of them hijacked the ship, Asui had frozen up. Apparently, she had also changed her skin to become camouflaged. Her suit had a camouflage setting, now she had gained the ability herself.
After avoiding the eyes of the two thugs that were keeping watch over her crewmates, Tsuyu had opened the gate keeping them below deck. That had alerted the two thugs to her presence, but it was too late. With the entire crew, and selkie, they took down both criminals, they then set their eyes on a tiny islet and sailed towards where they believed the smugglers were camped.
Their search yielded a gang of twelve smugglers. It was a fight that lasted for a while. Longer than the USJ had. The leader of the smugglers knew his squid quirk well, and had taken on several of the sidekicks at once. Only the combined effort of Selkie and Sirius was enough to stop him.
The hero later told Asui that it was thanks to her that they caught the smugglers. The capture and search of the island yielded a large store of drugs. They were quickly confiscated and sent back to the mainland.
The next day, the ship had received word of what happened in Hosu. Tsuyu had shocked everybody by silently walking out. Selkie had found her in the small gym that was built into the ship.
*Flashback*
"Froppy? You in there?"
Asui threw a strike at the sand bag before her. The pro hero Selkie walked through the door and saw her training.
"There you are! I wanted to see if you're okay. You looked pretty distant when you heard the news."
The frog girl brought her hand up and caught the punching bag as it swung back.
"Sorry about that *Kero* I just… feel so helpless out here…"
The pro hero walked up to her side. "Really? The way I see it, you're anything but helpless. Think about it. Your friends in Hosu took care of the attack, and made it out alive. You made sure that they could do their work without worrying about other villains."
"But I-"
"Asui. You helped pull off probably the biggest drug bust of the year. You're anything but useless."
Asui looked up at the hero with wide eyes. "You really think so?"
Selkie grinned and nodded. "Of course! Now… do you want some help with the punching bag?"
Asui felt happy tears form in her eyes as Selkie stood behind the sand bag and grabbed it.
"If you really want a punch somebody can feel, put your back into it."
*End Flashback*
It had been two days since then. Asui had already decided to change her costume. Instead of green, she would wear blue. Her headpiece would be added into the gift Selkie gave her.
Asui looked down at the black sailors cap in her hand.
"When you graduate, give me a call… I'd love to have a sidekick, or possibly a partner."
Tsuyu smiled and brought the cap to her chest, before pulling it on.
"Guess it's time that I started getting serious… *Kero*"

Kirishima sat in Fourth Kind's car. The hero had given him the last day to go back to UA, since it was close. The pro hero opened the door and grinned.
"Here ya go man! UA!"
Kirishima smiled and hopped out of the car.
"You got everything?"
The redhead nodded and patted the duffel bag hanging from his shoulder. "This is all I need for now. Thank you sir, for using your time to teach me."
Fourth Kind smiled. "No problem kid! If you're ever looking for an agency to take you, we'll gladly accept you anytime!"
"Thank you." Kirishima shook the hero's hand. "It means a lot. I look forward to seeing you in the future."
Fourth Kind nodded and got back into his car. "Hey kid, one more thing. Don't be a stranger."
Kirishima smirked and waved. "I won't. Have a good day!"
The hero smiled and drove away, Kirishima turned his attention to the school.
"Time to talk Nezu…"
)=(
Principal Nezu was having a quiet day. The first in-well-days. There had been a massive uproar after Tetsutetsu's death, and then came the Hosu attack. Nezu was exhausted.
Now he was having a quiet day… Until Ejiro Kirishima barged into his office.
"Principal Nezu!"
"Kirishima? Aren't you supposed to be at an internship?"
"Fourth kind dropped me off here because it's the last day. I need to talk to you."
Nezu pointed to a chair. Kirishima sat down. "What is this about?"
"Do you know of 'Quirk Emergence Theory?' books?"
Nezu looked at Kirishima surprised. "I do. I read them after they were published. Truly genius works. I'm surprised that a student would know about them."
"Do you remember the authors?"
Nezu pondered the question. "I'd have to look again. The books are at my home."
Kirishima opened the duffel bag he carried with him, revealing a stack of books. Nezu rushed to the boys side.
"These are the books… where did you get them?"
"The Midoriya apartment."
"Why would the Midoriya's have books like these?"
"Look at the authors."
"Inko Midoriya… and Hisashi Shigaraki… Izuka's mother wrote these…"
"I need you to help me find out who Inko Midoriya was. Something's off about that entire family. How could a woman with a weak psychic quirk marry the king of all villains? How could she know so much about quirks, that she'd be a pioneer in quirk evolution theory?"
"I can try to help, but all pictures of Inko Midoriya have been either destroyed, hidden, or partially damaged. We haven't been able to find anything on what she might look like."
Kirishima fished around in his pocket and pulled out a flash drive.
"Would this help?"
Nezu took the flash drive and put it into his computer. The video popped up on his screen, he watched to the point where Inko first appeared.
"Wait a minute… that's-"
"You know who she is?"
"Yes… Inko Midoriya… Her real name was Shida Tatsumaki… Her great great grandmother had one of the first psychic quirks."
Nezu shrunk the video window and looked up 'Shida Tatsumaki'. Pictures popped up depicting a woman with green hair and glasses in a lab coat.
"As I thought… That's her…"
"How do you know her Nezu?"
"She was at UA when I was rescued years ago. A remarkable student. She was a genius! I remember she taught me some things about quirk analysis…I should have recognized her writing…"
"Wait… Izuka Midoriya's mother… Taught you?"
Nezu nodded. "She could tell you a person's quirk in seconds! Hang on. I've got some videos of her and me together… they're pretty old…"
Nezu rooted around in his desk before pulling out a dusty hard drive. He hooked it up to his computer and played some of the footage.
A young Inko Midoriya and Nezu sat in the old 1-A classroom.
"So Nezu… what can you tell me about that one?"
"Some type of transformation type quirk… Their hands are paws, just like mine…"
Inko nodded. "It's a quirk that gives them the physical capabilities and some properties of a lion. They can transform, although it causes their body some strain. It seems to be able to improve if they continue transforming."
"But quirks can't improve… the principal even said quirk evolution was fake."
Inko giggled as Nezu fell into a storm of muttering. "Nezu… it's real. I've been through it."
That snapped the animal out of his muttering. "Wait… you have?"
Inko nodded. "At first, my quirk only allowed me to move small objects towards me."
Inko demonstrated by slowly pulling Nezu's pencil from his hand. "My quirk underwent an evolution a while ago, when I was caught in a car crash. Now I'm a full fledged psychic. I can lift things, push things away, put up barriers, even fly."
Young Nezu was amazed as Inko floated off of the ground, surrounded in a bluish green light.
"Quirks aren't some mystical power. It's like a different kind of muscle."
"Incredible… by the way… how did you know that that boy has a lion quirk?"
"His fur is gold. As is his hair. He has a beard. He's sixteen, he shouldn't have a mane like that. Also, Senshin's allergic to cats."
Inko pointed to a boy standing not far away from the boy they were analyzing. He was sneezing like mad.
The video stopped. Kirishima noticed Nezu smiling at the face of Inko.
"You two were… more than friends weren't you?"
"We dated for a short time, yes… but we realized that we weren't right for each other. We stayed best friends until graduation, but lost touch afterwards…" Nezu said sadly.
"I think… that her final message then… it's for you."
Nezu pulled up the video of Izuka's life, and skipped to Inko's last words. He watched them with tears in his eyes.
"She could have made it… couldn't she? If we weren't so ignorant… if people weren't just after money…"
Kirishima bit his lip. "I'm sorry…"
Nezu wiped the tears from his face. "Why are you sorry?"
"Because I probably just ruined your day."
Nezu placed a paw on Kirishima's shoulder. "Kirishima… I thought that she was gone for good, and I would never know what had happened. Now, you've brought me closure… Thank you."
Kirishima nodded. "Thank you… now I know a bit more about the Midoriyas…"
"Kirishima… would you like some private classes with me?"
"Private classes?"
"I think that you have a good head on your shoulders… I want to teach you quirk theory…"
Kirishima stared at the principal, before bowing.
"It would be an honor."

Bakugo stepped back into his house. Mitsuki sat in the livingroom. She sat in the lecture chair.
'Oh shit'
"Katsuki…" Mitsuki's voice was shaky. "You have some explaining to do…"
Katsuki sat down on the floor and looked at his mom. "This is about her, isn't it?"
"How long Katsuki? How long have you known that she's alive?"
Katsuki bit his lip. "Since the USJ…"
"SINCE THE-" Mitsuki pinched the bridge of her nose. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"Because it's my fault…"
"Katsuki Bakugo, how is this your fault?"
"Mom…"
"How is Izuka Midoriya becoming a villain Your Fault?"
"MOM!" Katsuki shouted. "I-I told her to die…"
Mitsuki fell into the chair, as if she had been struck by a hammer. "Y-you baited her?"
Bakugo held his head in his hands. "Yeah… I haven't forgiven myself…"
"SHE TRUSTED YOU! SHE GREW UP WITH YOU BEING A BROTHER! HOW COULD YOU-"
Mitsuki stopped yelling as she saw Katsuki shake. He was bawling his eyes out. Katsuki never cried.
"I'm sorry… I shouldn't have yelled… You've obviously changed… you got quieter, swore less… you changed… and now you're trying to show her that you've changed…Maybe too much."
"What do you mean by that?"
"I saw you fighting on TV… What was that lightning surrounding you? And what was that dark energy you were tossing around?"
Katsuki bit his lip. "It's… a quirk… two, actually…"
"Did you meet Him?" Mitsuki stood up.
"Who?"
"Inko's husband."
"WHAT? NO! I met the opposite…"
Mitsuki looked at her son. "The opposite?"
Katsuki sighed. "All Might. His power is known as One For All… It's a stockpiling quirk passed down from person to person… I met All Might after Izuka died. He had watched her fall, and was unable to do anything because of an injury he received in a battle against a villain known as All For One."
"Izuka's father…"
"Speaking of him… how did you know that he was Izukas dad?"
Mitsuki sighed. "First of all, I have known your aunt since we were kids. She had a lot of secrets. For one, her name wasn't Inko Midoriya, it was Shida Tatsumaki."
"Why did she change it?"
"Again, she had a lot of secrets. She was best friends with Nezu. A pioneer in quirk theory, and the quirk evolution theory. She published a few books after getting married to Hisashi… After she met Hisashi, she changed a bit. She asked me to call her Inko, because she couldn't be identified by her real name. She needed to stay off of the radar. And then Izuka was born."
"Wait. How many connections did auntie Inko have?"
"Quite a few. When Izuka was born, she cut all contact with her old acquaintances and only spoke to a few friends. She had something to protect."
"Izuka…"
"If she heard that you baited her daughter, she would have your head in a heartbeat."
"I don't doubt it… Even with a weaker psychic quirk-"
"That's another thing." Mitsuki said. "She was one of the most powerful psychic quirk users out there. But she dialed her power down to lay low. Anyways, Izuka was born as the child of All For One, Hisashi Shigaraki. She wasn't born quirkless, in fact, it was the opposite. Izuka was born with her fathers power."
"She had his quirk? Then why did they say she was quirkless?"
"Inko believed it would be safer to make sure that she didn't have the power. If she had it, the government would most likely try to turn her into a weapon. So Hisashi took it, and rendered her quirkless. He was going to give her a quirk when she was four, but he was injured before he could do that. She might have found him now…"
"So in other words… Izukas entire family was fucked over because of All Might…"
"Pretty much. And if he had a hand in her suicide attempt, you can bet that her father will not be happy in their next battle."
"I won't let anything happen to him." Bakugo said with determination. Mitsuki smiled.
"I know… now go get some sleep. You'll need it for your classes next week."

One Week Later
Izuka stood next to Toga at the memorial. UA had made a monument to the student. It was a simple statue of a figure holding its fist up high. Engraved at the foot of the statue was Tetsutetsu's name.
Nezu stepped up to the podium. "Two weeks ago… we lost a student. One who had been a great figure, and could have been a great hero. He was… noble. He always asked classmates how they were during the day… I only saw him a few times, but in those times, he greeted me as if I were anybody else…"
Izuka closed her eyes. She was recording the service for Tetsutetsu. Just so he could see what they said about him. Vlad king stepped up as Nezu finished.
"It was days that I saw Tetsutetsu that were brighter… It is from the bottom of my heart, that I offer my apologies in failing him."
'Damn Nezu… short, sweet, to the point. And yet, it was a moving speech… incredible…'
Vlad King stepped up next. "I- made a mistake… I underestimated Tetsutetsu… I let my own attitude get in the way of my teaching… So I hope that Tetsutetsu hears this, and forgives me…"
'Dude… really? That's it?'
All Might stepped up to the podium. Toga placed a hand on Izukas shoulder. "It is with great sadness that I do this… It has been seventy years since we lost a student on UA grounds… I wish it had never happened, and that Tetsutetsu were still here… This memorial statue is dedicated to the memory of Tetsutetsu, the memory of the hero that could have been… Real Steel… May his light live on in our hearts."
And the memorial ended. Izuka, Toga, and Hatsume stood at the statue a bit longer. After everybody had left, they still stood, looking at the memorial.
"Short memorial…"
"Yeah…"
"How are classes so far Toga?" Izuka asked.
"I'm going to literally torture Mineta for an eternity." Toga said.
"So he got Tetsutetsu's seat huh…."
Toga nodded. "Tetsutetsu will be out today, I can stop tormenting him…"
"Ah yes… I need to get Mirko as well…"
Toga grabbed Izuka and Hatsume by the hand. "Let's go now. We'll see them tonight."
)=(
Izuka and Toga stood in the vanguard base. Two rooms had been prepared for Mirko and Tetsutetsu. Mirko would stay whenever she wanted to. She normally lived in her office, so they expected her to like having a room.
A portal opened up. Izuka stepped through into Mirko's chamber.
"What day is it?" The rabbit hero whispered.
"Today is the day you tell me what you want to do."
The rabbit hero pulled against her bindings. "I want to be strong enough to hold the respect of everybody… I don't want to be an animal to them anymore… I only want to be an animal for you…"
Izuka's lips curled into a smile. She punched Mirko in the face, knocking her out. A minute later, she was back in the vanguard base. Mirko had been laid out on her bed. Izuka went to stand in the living room space.
Toga stepped through a portal that opened up in front of her. A few minutes later, she came through with Tetsutetsu. His hair had grown longer. His body was covered in scratches.
"He should wake up in a few minutes. We should get them stuff to dress their wounds."
Izuka nodded and grabbed some bandages from their storage of medical supplies. She brought them to each room, before getting towels and running a bath for Mirko.
She had a feeling that Toga was doing the same for Tetsutetsu.
A few minutes later, Izuka heard the creak of a door. She ran out into the hallway to see Mirko propped up in her rooms doorway. Toga was helping Tetsutetsu move down the hallway to the other bathroom.
Izuka approached the rabbit hero. "Come on."
Mirko let Izuka pick her up and bring her to the bath. When she got into the room, she took off everything except the collar and climbed into the pool of water.
"Why don't you take the collar off?"
Mirko opened one eye and looked at the scarred girl. "Because it marks me as yours…" Izuka smiled and began stripping. Mirko's ears perked up. "You're getting in too?"
Izuka climbed into the water with the bunny. "Of course… is there a problem?"
Mirko shook her head. "No… it's perfect like this."
"Good." Izuka kissed the rabbit hero, before helping her take care of the scratches on her body.
"Welcome to the vanguard Bunny."
"Glad to be here…"
)=(
So yeah. A bit of a jumble in here. Mitsuki's known Inko for a while, I thought it would make sense to have her in on the family secret.
Speaking of Inko… does anybody recognize her real last name? :3
Next up we have Tetsutetsu and Mirko being sworn into the league, and then the camp preparations.
Until Then,
Sushui Out!
