Thanks so much for the reviews for this story. It makes my day when I read that you are still enjoying this story.

It turned out that one of the members of the executive board at HSS son was an amputee. Alison Cooper had inherited a fortune from her father when he had passed away 10 years ago and had joined the board of trustees at the hospital a few years back.

Alison's son Trent had lost his leg in a motorcycle accident and had unfortunately suffered from Phantom pain for years. Trent had shown his mom the article in Time magazine and that had set the ball rolling.

The chief had called Callie who was in surgery at the time and left a voicemail message asking the ortho surgeon to call her back. Callie had dialled the number immediately and the offer was put to Callie. The hospital was willing to give her a job and fund her research for the next three years. Callie tried to play it cool on the phone as she spoke to the chief but inside, she was screaming.

A few days later and Callie and Arizona were on their way to a dinner that had been arranged to meet Alison Cooper and the chief before the contracts were formally signed.

Callie had insisted they leave super early and so they found themselves at the restaurant 30 minutes before the booking. Arizona could tell the brunette was nervous and took her hand and dragged her down the street to a bar a couple of doors down from the restaurant.

"Arizona...what are you doing?" Callie had said.

"Come on, you need a little dutch courage" the blonde had smiled at her as she held the door open for her girlfriend. Once inside Arizona walked up to the bar and asked for two shots of tequila.

"Arizona...you probably shouldn't be drin.." Callie started to say.

"Oh I'm not." The blonde replied with a smile "these are both for you. Now drink up".

Callie hesitated slightly before knocking back the shots."urrrgh I still hate tequila".

Arizona remembered the time she had been super nervous before a big surgery that had 25 million pounds riding on it. Arizona had treated Wallace Anderson for years and was way more attached to the little boy than she should have been and was freaking out before the operation. She had asked Callie to tell her she was great. Arizona had needed to hear it and she could tell that Callie needed the same now.

Arizona turned her girlfriend and held her by her shoulders, so she was looking straight at her.

"Callie...take a deep breath...it's just diner OK. No presentation required. It's just dinner and you've totally got this. You are amazing. Do you hear me? You. Are. Amazing"

Arizona smiled lovingly at her girlfriend making sure the positive affirmation had got through.

"Thanks. Sorry. I don't know why I'm so flustered." Callie said fanning herself with her hand.

"It's OK babe. They want you. They reached out to you. You are brilliant and they want to give you money to fund your research. Just be your normal self and they will love you. I promise. How can they not!" Arizona smiled lovingly at her girlfriend.

Callie took a deep breath and smiled "what would I do without you?" She asked.

"Well luckily you don't have to worry about that because I'm not going anywhere." Arizona smiled reassuringly and gave her girlfriend a slow kiss on the lips before adding "This is our time Cal, after everything we've been through...this is OUR time."

They headed to the restaurant and took their seats and were deep in conversation when Callie saw the chief of HSS walk into the restaurant with a man she assumed to be her husband. Shortly followed after by Allison who had brought her son along to meet the surgeon.

The meal went brilliantly, and Callie had shined, just as Arizona had known she would. The blonde had been full of pride for her girlfriend as she spoke so passionately about her research to date and the next phase and how many people it could help around the world.

Arizona watched Callie enthuse the other dinner guests with her energetic personality and clear love for her specialism. She was, Arizona thought to herself, back to her old Ortho goddess ways and that made her so happy to see. When she had first arrived in New York with Sofia Callie had just not seemed as into her work as she had used to be. The passion had gone, and Callie without passion was not good.

All the trouble at the hospital with Chief Taylor had taken its toll on the brunette and this job offer couldn't have come at a better time. Callie had supported Arizona when she had been working hard on setting up the clinic with Herman, and now Arizona was happy to support her girlfriend in any way she could.

Back home Callie was in the bathroom brushing her teeth as Arizona changed into her PJ's. Callie mentioned how lovely she thought Allison had been.

"You know she fancies you right?" Arizona had called out to her girlfriend.

Callie switched off her toothbrush and poked her head around the door to look at Arizona.

"Who?" Callie asked

"Alison." Arizona said matter-of-factly

"No she doesn't" Callie had scoffed turned her toothbrush back on and returned to the bathroom.

"She does. I'm telling you." Arizona yelled as she sat down at the dresser and started applying moisturiser to her neck and shoulders before adding "Did you not hear the way she said Purlease..." Arizona said mimicking a sexy voice "...call me Allie"

Callie switched off the bathroom light and walked over to where Arizona was sat and shook her head giving her a 'you are crazy' look.

"AND..." Arizona added, ignoring the look, "she must have touched your arm at least three times over the course of the night." the blonde said narrowing her eyes in a disapproving way.

"Why..." Callie said laughing "Arizona Robbins, I do believe you are jealous" she said smirking at her girlfriend.

"I am NOT!" Arizona responded in outrage at the claim, before pausing and looking at Callie who was smiling smugly at her.

"OK...maybe a little bit...I mean what girl wouldn't be?" The blonde said as she resumed rubbing in the lotion to her arms "she's rich, funny, intelligent, stunning looking...did I mention rich?" Arizona added with a smirk.

"Hmmm I guess" Callie said as she switched off the main light and climbed into their bed "she's just not really my type!"

Arizona span round at this statement "Err Calliope Torres...breaking news...you don't have a type!" the blonde said before explaining "...literally everyone you have ever been with have seen so different." Arizona had responded "George, Mark, Erica, Penny, Me...there is no type when it comes to you!" The blonde said smiling as she walked over and joined her girlfriend in bed.

"Ahhh see maybe that was true once..." Callie said as she shuffled over to where the blonde had just climbed in, slipped her arm over her waist and lent down to place a quick kiss on Arizona's bare shoulder, "but that's because I was, just trying to work out my type...but now I definitely have a type!"

"Oh do you?" Arizona said smiling suggestively at the gorgeous brunette.

"Uh huh...I like blonde haired, blue eyed, dimple cheeked, insanely talented peds surgeons...the shorter the better" she said with a wink which generated a nipple tweak from Arizona.

"Owww" Callie chuckled before adding "And I especially like them when they get rough in bed" Callie added raising an eyebrow as she pulled Arizona towards her and kissed her.

Arizona woke up early still feeling turned from the night before. The dinner had gone brilliantly and realising that Sofia wasn't up yet, she rolled over and placed a kiss on the cheek of a still sleeping Callie.

The brunette had always looked stunning, even when she was sleeping, and Arizona couldn't help herself as she ran a finger tip over the brunette's nipple which was visible underneath the white vest top she was wearing. It was a bit mean to wake her up, but Arizona knew Callie wouldn't mind when she knew what the blonde had in mind.

"Mmmmmm keep going" Callie said as she slowly opened her eyes as saw her beautiful girlfriend giving her the look that meant she was feeling horny.

"Is Sofia up?" Callie whispered "Do we have time?" smiling at the blonde as she rubbed her eyes to wake herself up more. Morning sex with Arizona was her favourite type of sex. It gave her an extra spring in her step and she normally spent the day having hot sexy flashbacks.

"If you're quick we have time!" Arizona smiled and raised her eyebrows at her girlfriend.

"I can be quick if you can" the brunette said excitedly as she pulled the blonde on top of her and quickly tugged off the vest top the blonde was wearing.

"I woke up half way there already!" Arizona had whispered as she lent in and started kissing her gorgeous girlfriend.

Apart from the period after the plane crash, they had always enjoyed a healthy sex life, and whilst it was obviously harder to get time alone with a small child around, when they did have a moment they nearly always made the most of it.

Callie's hips lifted off the bed as Arizona started to grind down on the brunette generating quite moans from them both. Callie loved it when the blonde was on top of her, loved watching the joy on her face as she climaxed.

Callie grabbed Arizona's naked breasts with both hands and gave them a squeeze, causing Arizona to tip her head back as she gyrated her hips in time with Callie.

Callie's eyes widened as she felt her girlfriends breasts again. They were fuller than normal. SHIT! They were fuller than normal!

The brunette stopped moving "Errrr Babe...when is your period due?" she asked in a slightly panicky voice.

Arizona was a positive person, but she had convinced herself they were going to have go down the route of IUI in the clinic and so had stopped counting the days of her cycle and had totally lost track.

The blonde instantly stopped moving and her eyes widened in shock as she looked down at Callie.

"Shit...do you think?" She said quickly rolling off the brunette and grabbing her phone to check her calendar with one hand, whilst grabbing one of her boobs with the other and giving it a squeeze.

"Trust me..." Callie said sitting up smiling "they are definitely bigger!"

"Fuck...oh my god Callie. I'm five days late." Arizona said looking over nervously at the Latina.

"Really?" Callie said as she took the phone to check the dates from the last home insemination.

"Crap. Yeap. You are definitely late." Callie said excitedly

"Do you really think?" Arizona said hopefully smiling at her girlfriend.

"Well there's only one way to find out!" Callie said as she pulled back the duvet and jumped out of bed and started pulling on her jeans.

"Where are you going?" Arizona asked

"To the pharmacy" Arizona replied as she pulled a jumper over her head.

"Cal it's 6.15am!" Arizona said in disbelief

"So? I'll go to the 24hr one a couple of blocks away." Callie said before she lent in and kissed Arizona on the lips.

"What if it's a false alarm?" Arizona said nervously

"Then it's a false alarm and we stick to the plan...but what if it's not babe?" Callie said as she sat down on the bed and held her girlfriends hands smiling broadly.

"Oh god Cal...I can't even bring myself to think that yet." Arizona said nervously

"Probably right thing to do. Let's get the test and then we know OK?"

"OK. I love you." Arizona said trying to steady her breath and keep calm.

"I love you too"

Callie arrived at the pharmacy 10 minutes later and headed straight for the feminine care isle.

Locating the tests, Callie picked up three tests, hesitated slightly, before adding a fourth and heading to the counter to pay.

The pharmacy worker behind the till smiled and said something to Callie as she scanned the tests.

"Hmmmm what? Sorry?" Callie apologised realising she hadn't heard what had been said. She had been deep in thought thinking about Arizona being pregnant and a huge smile formed on her face.

"I just said, better to be safe " the cashier repeated, nodding at the number of tests the brunette was buying.

"Oh right. Yes, absolutely" Callie beamed back at the woman.

"Is it your first?" The cashier asked. Over the years she had learned to spot the differences between customers buying the tests, and this customer was clearly super excited.

"Oh it's ummm it's not for me, it's for my wife. We umm we have a daughter already" Callie responded happily.

"Ahhhh, how lovely. A little brother or sister for your daughter. Well, I hope it's good news" the cashier responded as she processed the payment.

It was only when Callie was sat in the car in the empty car park that she realised what she had said. She had called Arizona her wife. It was to all purposes how Callie felt about the blonde. They were so much more than girlfriends, they had been through so much together. There and then in the pharmacy car park at 6.35am on a rainy morning Callie made up her mind, she was going to propose to Arizona.

It didn't matter what the results of the test were, pregnant or not, Callie wanted Arizona to be her wife again. She wanted to show her she was committed and that this was the end game for her. They had gone full circle and found each other again and Callie never wanted to lose her.

I re watched the Wallace episode to remind myself what Arizona had asked Callie to tell her before the surgery and it had me crying again. Such a sad storyline. Bad dreams, bad dreams go away :(

I hope I'm managing to get across the love between the two of them and that it seems real when you read it. I want to portray them as being stronger for their time apart. I think that's what we all hoped happen when we watched Arizona leave for New York. That they are living a happily ever after life.

I'm thinking this story probably has a couple of more chapters left that I'll try and write as soon as I can. If it stick to around 2,000-3,000 words a chapter I can update more regularly if you don't mind the smaller chapters? Tell me if it is still interesting without drama. Do you like it when things go smoothly or is it boring?

As ever, I'd love to know what you think.

Take care. S x
