SIT DOWN

TRIGGER WARNING: DARK THOUGHTS

SOME NON CON BEHAVIOUR

She looked at herself in the mirror one last time before she would have to leave.

The dress she had chosen she will admit would probably become her favourite after tonight. It was a black silk dress that settled gracefully over her, not to tight and not loose as it dropped into a loose skirt that almost touched the ground. It had a graceful neckline, nothing too plunging but enough to see some amount of cleavage. The sleeves where sheer and loose before it cuffed at her wrist and her long hair tumbled in soft curls down her back. She had kept her makeup minimal with some dark eyeshadow, and a soft colour on her lips.

She looked at her self a moment longer before she realised she was ready and needn't stay.

She walked into the crowded hall, the champions had just begun to dance, and Atria gave herself a pat on the back knowing she had just missed out on a dramatic entrance. Everyone looked lovely and she was pleased that there where a few other girls wearing black and that she would not stand out.

She could see Hermione and Viktor dancing and Harry dancing with... Pavarti.

She knew he would have a date but still seeing them dancing hurt a little, the only comfort was that Harry looked very uncomfortable while doing it.

"Ron," she greeted coming to stand next to the red-haired boy.

"Hi Atria," he said sluggishly, standing next to Padma, oh it was a sister act. She gave Padma a nod but nothing else, they had never needed to talk so why would they start now.

"She looks lovely doesn't she," she said about Hermione as she watched her in the lovely dress they had bought.

"Of course," he said with a grimace that seemed to mean the complete opposite of what he was saying.

By the time the champions had finished most of the other couples had gotten on the dance floor. Atria had opted for standing aside pretending she was doing anything when she was really just standing boredly.

"Atria," she heard Hermione call.

She looked to see Hermione and Viktor Krum walking up to her.

"Hermione, You look amazing," she said with a friendly smile as the other girl brought up her date.

"So do you," Hermione said cheerily in a way atria had never seen the other girl behave.

"Viktor this is Atria Black," Hermione said introducing her famous date.

"A pleasure to meet you miss Black," He said in a strong Bulgarian accent, taking one of atria hands and giving it a kiss, "I hav heard many stories ov you."

"Definitely not all good then," Atria said sarcastically.

"No, I must zay not, not zat it matters what sey think." He said gallantly to which Atria gave an approving nod.

"Well have a nice night, you do look lovely." She said to Hermione.

"I'll see you later," Hermione said as Viktor whisked her away with a smile.

Atria smiled after them as turned back heading toward the table where the punch was served.

"You didn't promise me a dance but I would still like one, " she heard behind her she turned around to see rather dashing looking Harry Potter standing.

"Where's your date?" She asked.

"Getting a drink," he said holding out his hand, "I'm sure she won't mind."

Atria nodded holding up one finger, "One dance."

"That's all I asked for," he said teasingly taking her hand and leading her to the dance floor.

He wrapped his arm around her waist and she paced a small hand on his shoulder as he took her other hand, she sensed people where watching but she didn't care. They began to move with the music and harry seemed a lot more graceful then what she had witnessed with Parvati on the dance floor, almost like he calmer and more comfortable.

"What's wrong with Ron?" She asked, bringing up the other boys down on his luck mood.

Harry shrugged, "I think he might just be a bit jealous."

Her eyes travelled to Ron as she followed his glare to where Hermione now danced with Viktor Krum, "I didn't know he liked Hermione," she said, for years she had thought they had only been friends,"

"I don't even think he knows yet," Harry whispered with a chuckle, before looking down at her.

"I like your dress," he said earnestly, his words getting stuck in his throat as they did.

Atria gave a nod, "Thank you," she said, "you look very nice as well,"

He smiled bowing his head, "Atria I would just like to apologise for the other night."

"Pardon?"

"Um the attempt at a kiss," he said his embarrassment bringing through his cheeks, "I don't know what I was thinking, it just... I think I was just tired."

He was just tired, "It's okay," atria said understandingly not showing her disappointment. He could be lying but he was till admitting it was a mistake.

"I just don't want things to be awkward between us," he continued.

"it's not," she lied, "We're fine Harry," she continued with a gentle look.

"Okay," he nodded, "brilliant," he said with a bright smile that hurt Atria all the same.

She nodded as her eyes run over his face biting her lip anxiously, "I saw Sirius," she said excitedly just remembering the fact trying to lighten herself.

"Where?"

She went on to explainer her plan and how Sirius and Remus were now staying at Grimmauld Place.

"He's so close," Harry said dreamily, "I could see him."

"I don't know yet we are being very careful right now we just need to let everything settle," Atria explained.

"I should go," Atria said no longer wanting to dawdle around, also having caught glance of Parvati as she stood waiting impatiently to get her date back, "I think your date is ready for you." She said as Harry too looked over.

"Are you leaving?" He asked her in disbelief as they stopped dancing.

"Yes," she said, "my bed calls," she went on to joke.

He led her out of the hall. Her hand on his arm as he did.

"well, Goodnight," he said as they reached the stairs she would soon walk up.

"Goodnight Harry," she said before walking slowly up the stairs.

She reached the fourth step when she heard him say, "Atria," he called. She turned around to look at him, "Yes," she said somewhat impatiently her excitement buzzing wondering what he would say.

"Just.. you look beautiful," he said honestly, their eyes locking.

Atria smiled, "I'll see you tomorrow Harry." She said before turning and making her way back up the watched her as she left before turning around and going back to the dance floor to find his date, but even as he danced with Parvati he couldn't get her off his mind. She had looked stunning understated and beautiful. He looked to the stairs and realised he could not go to bed not having said his piece. Having instead of saying how he felt opting for the easier option.

"Harry," Parvati asked, noticing his distant look.

"I'm sorry," he said, "I'll be back in a moment," before parting ways and heading back to the stairs.

He had to talk to Atria.

Atria smiled to herself as she left, a calm night that left only clear air. She took a deep breath as she walked along the hallway, ready to go to her room and leave the night behind. Nothing too big but almost perfect for her in the sense that she and Harry where fine.

"Leaving," she heard a voice behind her.

She stopped turning around, looking at Draco, "Always."

He smiled as his eyes travelled over her form, "You look beautiful," he said softly.

"Draco, you've seen me in a dress plenty of times, its nothing special," she said humbly, smiling shyly ", You look nice too"

He nodded looking down at her hand as he walked closer, "You're wearing the ring I picked out."

She lifted her hand her eyes catching the emerald stone as the fire from torches on the wall hit its smooth surface, " You picked it?" she asked looking back up.

"Especially for you," he said, taking her hand in his and admiring the ring on her finger.

She smiled looking down at her hand in his, "Its lovely," his taste was almost impressive.

He let her hand slip out of his," This was the only one that I could see you wearing all the other ones where too dainty, I thought of you the moment I saw it."

"Well, I-"

"Why don't you come back inside?" he asked slipping his hands in his pockets.

"I think I'll go to bed," she said gesturing to up the hall, "I'm pretty tired."

"No, you're not," Draco said teasingly, "you want to go back to your rooms and do anything but sleep." He said giving her a boyish smile. "I know you, Stay just a while longer, Maybe talk to Daphne?"

"Daphne doesn't want to talk to me," Atria said, he knew that why was he pretending like he didn't? "None of them do."

"Well I do," he said, "Can you come back in?"

"Draco," she began softly, "what are you doing?"

He shrugged his shoulders innocently, "I want you to come in with me and spend time with me."

She shook her head softly, "Another time?" She said simply.

"Another time?" He asked.

"Yes."

"Atria please?" he asked.

She smiled at him sadly but shook her head.

He looked down shaking his head in disbelief, "Don't you miss it?" He asked looking up at her, "What it was like before all of this?"

She though on it for a moment, did she miss some aspects of her life, things she wished to have kept in it. She knew the price of those things was blissful ignorance when she thought of all it would cost her, Sirius, Remus her mother, Harry, she knew it. "No," she said truthfully.

"But what about us?" He asked grabbing for anything he could get.

"You left me first Draco," She said, she didn't raise her voice, she didn't want things to escalate as they usually did between them, she was keeping it civil and open.

He nodded to himself, "I'm sorry," he said, "I did nothing."

Atria face dropped as she looked at him,

"I was afraid," he continued.

"You were afraid?" She asked, he was afraid, well she had been too if that mattered at all.

"Yes," he said, "Is that so hard to believe."

She shook her head," I was afraid to Draco."

"But if you came home it would all be different," he said, a smile growing on his face in hope.

That turned her cold, "Is this what you are resorting to now? Lying to me."

"I'm not lying," he pushed, "Atria please-"

"Draco enough," Atria said moving to turn away,

"Why must you always be so stubborn?" He asked, "what do you want me to say? What do you want me to do? Because I have tried everything and I get the same response every time."

"Because I don't care," she said impatiently.

He flinched away painfully as he clenched his fist, "You don't care about me?"

She breathed in softly steadying herself, "Of course I do Draco but nothing you could ever say would ever convince me to go back."

"You have too," he said desperately.

"Why?" She asked.

He shook his head, "Why," he began, "do you always have to keep pushing?" He pleaded, "What do you think will happened at the end of this year do you think they'll just let you go, just like that?"

"They definitely will," Atria snapped not wanting to think about the alternative, "your father can barley stand one stain on his name and I'll make thousands," She threatened.

"Not if he has something worse on you," he mumbled shaking his head but she heard him.

"What?" She demanded.

He looked up at her knowing he said something he shouldn't have, "Atria-"

"What?" She demanded even more desperate this time.

"Don't worry about it now," he said reaching out to her trying to comfort her almost.

"Draco what is he going to do," she asked her hands latching on to his arms as he held her softy by her forearms, her fear only growing.

"You don't have to worry about it if you agree to come home," he said softly.

"I can't come home," she told him desperately, he had to tell her what he meant, she had to know.

"Why?" He begged, giving her a soft shake, "You don't need to be scared just trust me I…" his word stumbled off as his eyes flew over her face, thinking desperately on something, she looked up at him and his mind stilled as if he had made a choice.

His face moved in so fast the impact hurt as his lips slammed onto her, she flinched away her eyes widening in shock but his lips remained moving on hers as his grip tightened on her, she brought her hands up slapping them on his shoulders as she pushed him away with a disgusted grunt

"Draco what-" but her eyes had caught onto a figure standing up the hall, making her forget Draco was even in her presence.

"Harry," she let out softly, he was standing frozen by the end of the hall looking in disbelief before turning and walking around the corner quickly.

"Harry!" She called after him before moving quickly to follow him, Draco too in shock to even go after her.

"Harry!" She called again as she got closer to the retreating boy.

"Harry talk to me," she begged as she reached his side, but he didn't listen he kept walking ignoring her presence as he seemingly got even angrier, "Harry let me explain."

"Explain what?" He asked angrily refusing to look at her.

"It's not like that," Atria rushed to explain, "I didn't-"

"Didn't want me to find out?" He asked angrily turning to her.

It was like her lungs stopped working as she tried to catch her breath before reply timidly, "Harry there was nothing to find out it was just-"

"A kiss," he hissed angrily, "You might not be able to realise it but that was disgusting."

"Harry stop let me explain please," Atria began to beg as her breath became rigid.

"What would Sirius say?" He demanded, knowing it was a low blow but being so clouded with anger he couldn't stop himself.

"Harry stop, just let me talk please," she asked as her cheeks burnt with shame.

"I don't want to know!" He yelled angrily. Atria flinched and even Harry looked a bit in disbelief after he had done it but he didn't bask in it long, he turned away walking quickly, leaving her standing frozen on the spot.

No, it wasn't supposed to go like this, she felt her chest heave as she repressed the sob building in her chest, she turned needing to get away as her tears spilled over her eyes freely, she stormed up the hall turning as she angrily approached Draco who leant against the wall his eyes looking off into space.

"How!," she demanded shaking him from his daydream as she approached him," How could you do that? What were you thinking!"

"What you care if Potter sees me kiss you," he said jealously, as he pushed himself off the wall giving her a scalding glare.

"WHY WOULD YOU KISS ME?" She demanded of him," WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU!," she found herself yelling at him, her confusion and her upset clouding her mind beyond reproach.

"Atri-"

"I don't want to hear another word from you! EVER!" She told him seeing the small amount of hurt pass by but not caring about it in the least, "I've told you enough times NOW LEAVE ME ALONE!" She screamed before walking past him.

She stormed up the hall as a broken sob raptured her body shaking her as she walked and walked, needing to get to her dorm, wanting to dive into bed and sleep, pretending it had all been a dream. She passed a sluggish figure sluggishly lying on one of the windows sill but paid them no mind as she rushed.

"Going to a funeral Black!" She heard a voice call after her.

She gave a small look behind her catching the figure of a somewhat stumbling Adrian Pucey who had just got up from a nap as it would seem before following after her.

"It's only 9:30 going to bed already?" She heard him ask as she kept walking forward, she kept on ignoring him, wiping her eyes desperately, he would not see her cry.

"You just think you are so high and mighty don't you!" He called after her, taking her vow of silence to heart, "Walking around like you're anyone of importance," he said his voice very close behind her.

"Fuck of Pucey!" She snapped, "I'm not in the mood," she said the shake in her voice obvious.

"Oh upset," he said, patronisingly as he reached her side, looking her up and down," I'm surprised you can still afford a nice dress," he said reaching out to play with the strap of her dress, her hand slapped his hand away quickly as he continued even more infuriated. "From what I heard, the Malfoy's are working slowly but surely to swindle that fortune right out from under you, I would be more careful with my spending if I was you." He said, grabbing her forearm tightly, halting her. Her hand went to his wrist as he whispered cruelly too her, "Not nice when you realise there are consequences to your actions."

"Don't touch me," she said through gritted teeth, as she tried to take his hand off her arm, but his grip only tightened.

"But I want to." He said, giving her a devilish grin she didn't not like at all.

"Get off me," she said threateningly.

He didn't let go, instead, he went on as if playing a game, "Oh she doesn't like that does she," he said like tutting a child," Oh come on you came in all alone tonight I bet your begging for some attention."

"Pucey I swear if you don't let go," she said she was exhausted and in no mood to see what would happen next, this would be her finale warning.

"No," He said as he started backing her up against the wall trying to cage her in.

Her hand moved to her chest quickly, dipping it into the front of her dress as he looked on in shock.

"Stupefy," she hissed her wand pressed against his chest at close range.

His eyes widened before he was fired back, flying into the wall behind him and hitting with a sickening thud.

He remained still on the ground as she backed away in shock at her actions, as the tears still fell down her face.

She looked up the hall, she could hear fast heavy footsteps coming up the hall, she looked back down at the boy before picking up her skirt, wand still in hand as she bolted up the hall, running down the steps as quickly as she could.

She quickly got into the common room as her body shook with the force of her cries. So much for a good night.

Her first kiss gone, harry gone, what was Sirius going to think, Harry would tell him and what would he think. Lucius had something planned and Atria had no idea what and her anxiety was only going to grow, and grow because of it.

She was going to be expelled, Pucey was lying knocked out in the hallway and because of her and they would find out who it was, he would wake up and tell them. Maybe he would be too drunk and wouldn't remember it. No, they would find out Draco or even harry would tell because she was the only one going that way, even if the ex-head of the Auror office didn't have a grudge against her he would still work it out and have to tell Dumbledore.

She'd be taken away from Andromeda, to the Malfoy's, and they'd send her away to another school or worse not let her attend another one.

One night and everything she had in the world was gone.

'SHUT UP!' She screamed in her head, 'SHUT UP.'

She held her hand over her ears, trying desperately to get the voices out of her head.

'You liked hurting that boy,' No it was not Tom, Tom was gone it was just her mind playing tricks on her.

She backed herself up against the wall and as she begged her mind to stop as she cried, the stone grew so hot she jumped away with a yelp.

She looked at the wall where a hot scorch mark now laid in the place she had leant, she backed away as she cried as a nearby lamp burst making her jump with a helpless cry.

'CALM DOWN,' she screamed in her head as another glass lamp shattered around her.

"Stop, stop, stop," she started to wimpier to herself as she cried.

The life she had built herself the dreams she was now allowed to dream imploded in her mind as they became a distant memory, now she was back in Malfoy manner, the girl she had been before coming into her mind's eye, fearful and timid as she had always been.

She froze when the sound of a loud crack came from behind her, the glass holding the black lake was wearing thin as a crack like lightning spread across it.

"No, no," she began muttering as she backed away.

But the crack was growing, and she was trying, willing her self to stop as water started to burst through the small opening in the glass.

She backed up grabbing onto the table, her hands gripping it tightly. The wood began to sizzle and burn her palms as she gripped it but she didn't even feel it, all she could think about was the water coming through the glass as it's pressure pushed and pushed, the glass giving small sounds at its weakening defence, the crack growing and growing. But the idea of the black lake enveloping her, its dark waters taking its hold of her didn't seem like a punishment anymore, but a saviour. She sunk to the ground finally letting go of the table as she wrapped her arms around her knees, her red eyes locked onto the glass in front of her as she bit at her lip so hard it drew blood. The cracks kept going and going and if she hadn't been so enthralled by the idea she would have heard the heavy footsteps coming down the stairs. She closed her eyes just when the glass gave out ready for the crushing wave. But she never felt it. She opened her eyes. The glass was once again sealed as if none of it had happened. She looked around at the man standing in the doorway, wand still in hand catching the confusion and lost melancholy in her eyes.

Grey met with black as her fear tripled looking up at her shocked professor.

"I didn't mean to, I-" she said but her mind was so scattered she could barley conjure up the words or get them out.

Snape put out a steady hand as if approaching a wild animal as it skirted nervously.

Her eyes darted around the room and her hand reached up to pick nervously at her lip where she now tasted blood. The shattered lamps and scorch mark's, all her. Was she this unstable? Was she this chaotic? This madness inside her seemed to constantly be reaching peak after peak, and one day it would surely kill her. She looked up at him, hopelessness resting in her eyes as she softly whispered.

"Help me."
