Remember people thought 2016 was the worst year ever... It's been 4 years and since the last chapter I graduated and university and I'm practically engaged. Sonic Boom got cancelled and Sonic Prime is going to replace it. Sonic is turning 30 and the voice actors who I heard since I was 10 years old are leaving.

I don't know what the future holds for the Sonic the Hedgehog, but regardless my heart still loves him and SonAmy as well. It took so much change to compel me to write again, so hopefully I will for the foreseeable future. Sonic, and by proxy fanfics, were (and still are) my comfort. Every so often I got a notification from my phone telling me people were still following it, favouriting it and even leaving reviews. It really shows how much people still care about these silly stories I made when I was a teen.

#38 Multiverse Part 3 - Boom vs Classic

"Ahhhh... peace and quiet," Sonic sighed whilst relaxing on his hammock outside his humble abode. Whilst the interdimensional mishap brought a whole bunch of Sonic and Amy's into his world was great and all, Sonic internally always appreciated his quiet time. His counterparts felt similar as they went their separate ways after their races to explore the island and take in the scenery. Whilst all three hedgehogs were the same person, they were quite different in their own ways. Sonic noted while they were all chilling together that his alternate dimensional self was much more chipper and upbeat by comparison, so much so that it made his friends started to mock him for his dry, deadpan attitude. "Mini-Me" (or rather alternate dimension's "Mini-Me") was much quieter and subdued. No less cocky, but compared to the other Sonic's, he took life as it came.

'Maybe because he knows what's coming,' Sonic laughed as he looked up at the sky.

"So cute..." Sonic's ears twitched at the sound just short of a whisper. He didn't react in case it was one of Eggman's schemes to lure him into a trap. He went back to relaxing, smiling as he felt strong rays of sunshine on his face.

"Oh wow..." Another whisper. He peeled his eyes left to right but didn't leave the hammock right away. However, before he could do so, an alert from his communicator distracted him.

"Hey, Sonic!"

"Oh, Tails. What's up? Eggman attack"

"Nah, nothing like that. I've almost finished fine-tuning the interdimensional transporter. Give me another couple of hours and everyone should be sent back to their proper dimension and time by tea time."

"You mean, dinner right." He could hear Tails' groan at Sonic playing semantics again.

"Doesn't matter, just make sure all Sonics and Amys are accounted for and lead them to my workshop by then. Oh, and remember we were going to meet Knuckles near the canyon for gopher ball soon."

"Cool, no problem. Be there soon." Sonic tapped his communicator to stop the transmission. Sonic then began a headcount. Last time he checked, the Sonics said they were going to explore the island, but knowing them (or himself?), they most likely found their way to Eggman's domain by now to mess with him. They were disappointed to find out that Eggman is treated as a normal citizen on the island who only happens to terrorize it on occasion.

The Amys however... Sonic knew his Amy was most likely went out shopping with them in the town centre, but when he ran past them earlier, he only saw two of them.

'Where could she be?' He got up out of the hammock and got ready to speed off again. 'She couldn't have gone too far. Oh well, I'm sure she'll turn up'.

"Oh no." That voice was no longer a whisper, but a sad, longing one.

"Who's there?" Finally, he might catch this voice. Sonic had a feeling he was being watched. There was a rustling in the bushes by his home. He rolled his eyes. 'Even Eggman has a better sense of espionage, and Orbot and Cubot just knock when they want something'.

"Come on, if you're not one of Eggman's goons show yourself."

"Okay." A pink figure emerged from the foliage, cleaning her tutu of dirt and leaves. Sonic gasped. It was Mini-Amy, he hadn't seen her since they warped to the island yesterday. She was not silent like Mini-Me, but she never opened her mouth to speak to him, only stared. Her blank stare made him uncomfortable, but he wasn't sure whether it was out of malice or shyness. Sonic decided to break the ice.

"You're Rosy, right?" Sonic gave her his signature smile to cheer up. She blushed and nodded quickly, but still refused to say a word to him.

"Did you get lost?"

"Only in your eyes," Rosy said coyly with a giggle. Sonic's eyes widened. His fight or flight response activated, and for once, his body wanted to pick flight.

'Oh no,' The realization hit him like a rock. 'That's why she hasn't been talking to me.' Suddenly the warm weather he was previously enjoying was too hot for his liking. He should have listened to the other Sonic's concerns when they said their Amys could be intense. How long has this girl been following him?

"Well, anyway, I can call my Amy now, to get you back into town so you can hang with h-"

"No!" Rosy cried out, a far cry from her whispering earlier. It made Sonic jump in surprise. "I mean, I'm sorry... I didn't mean to spy on you," She pulled a long face and pouted in a way that Sonic couldn't look away from. 'Ugh too cute, is she guilting me on purpose?'.

"It's just that... if you ran away again I wouldn't be able to catch you!"

'Wow, if she was a little older, that would sound creepy... Nope, still creepy.' It took all of Sonic's will power to not keep that thought to himself.

"I only wanted to hang out with you." She kicked the rock in the sand and moped. "My Sonic ran away when I asked him out for lunch."

Sonic pulled on his scarf, the guilt and awkwardness of the conversation sent him into his boiling point, he wanted to run away, but she was just a little girl. A little girl with a creepy crush, but still.

"In that case..."

'Sonic, the words haven't left your mouth yet, you can still run!'

"I'll take you to Meh Burger instead."

Rosy instantly lit up, her eyes suddenly replaced by stars. "Really? you mean it?" Sonic nodded slowly. His affirmation earned him a tight hug against his legs. He didn't realize how short Rosy was. He and Amy have almost always been around the same height.

"But what about Tails and Knuckles?"

"They'll be fine without me for a while. Knuckles takes an hour to line up his shots anyway."

Rosy's heart almost burst out of her chest. Her Sonic never skipped on anything for her. "And by the way... you can call me Amy if you want," She winked at him and began to pull him along back into the village.

"I can run us there, y'know,"

"No thanks, I wanna' savour the moment and walk." She giggled while Sonic forced a smile in return.

'This is going to be a long day'

Sonic didn't know what was worse, being hit on by an eight-year-old or being stared down by one. Ever since they arrived at Meh Burger, the pink hedgehog couldn't keep his eyes off him again. She wouldn't even touch her food. Granted the food at the restaurant was terrible, so that wasn't strange.

'I need to get her out of this lovesick daze... Oh, Amy where are you?!'

"Sonic! Rosy!" His Amy ran towards them. For the first time, Amy appeared as an angel giving him salvation and not making him tag along on her furniture shopping trips. "What are you guys doing here?" Sonic sped out of his seat into his Amy's arms, surprising her and making her blush. Thankfully, the speedster couldn't see that. "Thank you," he whispered in her ear over and over again.

"Sonic and I are on a date!" Rosy chimed in. Sonic and Amy made mortified faces, although for different reasons. Sonic ended the hug and panicked, "No we're not," he told Amy, trying to brush everything off.

"I gotta' go meet Tails and Knuckles for gopher ball, see ya." He waved and attempted to run off, but Amy's gloved hand keep him in place.

"Where do you think you're going Sonic. You don't leave a girl halfway through a date. It's ungentlemanly."

"Good thing I'm not a gentleman," he quipped back only to have Amy hold him back with a noose-like grip.

"Sonic! Rosy is our guest, and you promised to take her out" She yelled whilst pressing her finger against his scarf intimidatingly. Sonic moved her finger away casually. "Amy, she's eight, and it's not a date or are you jealous or something," He teased, making Amy angry. She groaned spitefully.

"You know what Sonic, go! Maybe I'll go on a date with alternate dimension Sonic. He's a lot more chivalrous than you,"

"What's that supposed to mean?!" The argument continued whilst onlookers at the restaurant attempted to eat their lunch and ignore the couple's spat. Rosy laughed.

"Just like a married couple," she mused aloud. Her observation made them stop fighting, blush and then look away from one another. Rosy got up out of her seat and held both of their hands.

"I was only joking with you two. Sonic was only trying to cheer me up. Please don't fight. When I leave, you can have Sonic all to yourself. Now MAKEUP!" she yelled as he put their hands together, increasing the awkward factor between them.

"I'm... sorry," Sonic and Amy stated at the same time.

"Aww, how sweet." The pair only realized they were still holding hands and swiftly pulled them back. They looked at it each other sheepishly before Sonic departed. "See ya' ladies." And like the wind, he was gone again.

"Hey, girls!" Amy, the one who always wears a bright red dress and boots and had tons of shopping bags in tow, yelled out.

"I just saw Boom run off, I hope I didn't interrupt anything," she said slyly. "Nope, you didn't miss anything, let's get back to shopping." Boom!Amy quickly dismissed, and they all walked back to the marketplace once more.

Rosy sighed dreamily, "I wonder?".

"What's wrong Rosy?"

"I was just thinking... how do you kiss your Sonic when he's so tall? I couldn't even speak to him because I kept imagining what it'd be like to kiss him!"

The tallest pink hedgehog stopped in her tracks, whilst the other two continued with their speculation. "I know, right he's so tall and handsome. It's a shame we have to go so soon. Maybe I should convince my Sonic to wear a scarf too! " The alternate dimension Amys giggle girlishly at their mutual attraction.

Boom!Amy groaned whilst the others were in their dreamland. Rosy was right. She could not wait to have Sonic back to herself.

"Sonic you're late, what happened?" Tails called out whilst Knuckles was still in the middle of deciding how to take his shot.

"Nothing Tails just had to deal with a rascal on the way."

Ahh, its good to be back. Finally the trilogy is over, I'm sorry it took over 4 years to finish it. Ironic since I wrote this in one night. I already have another chapter in the works and Tails' Crush will be finished in due time.
