Chapter Thirty Eight: Love

It was growing closer to Christmas and the weather grew colder. The third week of December, the school was buzzing. There had been a notice hung up in the Entrance Hall, a duelling club was being set up. 'Duelling club? Sounds like a laugh' said Fred when he heard about it. 'Who do you think will be teaching us?' asked Alicia curiously.

Emalia shrugged 'Probably Flitwick'

'Professor Flitwick?!' said George with surprise.

'Yeah, he was a champion dueller. I wouldn't be surprised if it was him' nodded Emalia.

The duelling club was the talk of the school, so it was unsurprising that most of the students were in the Great Hall come eight o'clock.

Everyone was chattering, discussing who they thought would be the head of the duelling club. At the moment Professor Flitwick was the most popular option, with McGonagall a close second.

At exactly eight on the dot, Gilderoy Lockhart walked out onto the stage, resplendent in robes of deep plum and accompanied by a rather sullen looking Snape, wearing his usual black.

Lockhart waved an arm around for silence and called 'Gather round, gather round! Can everyone see me? Can you all hear me? Excellent!'

'Now, Professor Dumbledore has granted me permission to start this little Duelling Club, to train you all up in case you ever need to defend yourselves as I myself have done on countless occasions – for full details, see my published works.'

Emalia groaned 'Why did it have to be him?' Fred started chuckling.

'Let me introduce my assistant Professor Snape,' said Lockhart, flashing a wide smile. 'He tells me he knows a tiny little bit about duelling himself and has sportingly agreed to help me with a short demonstration before we begin. Now, I don't want any of you youngsters to worry – you'll still have your Potions master when I'm through with him, never fear!'

'Honestly, if anyone should be worried it should be Lockhart' muttered Emalia.

Snape's face had darkened considerably as Lockhart continued speaking. 'If looks could kill' said Angelina, as she pointed subtly to Snape.

Everyone watched on as Professor Snape and Lockhart demonstrated the set up to duelling. When Snape sent Lockhart flying backwards off his feet, Emalia, Fred and George had to fight the laughter that was bubbling up inside them. The two sixth year Ravenclaw girls who were standing in front of them turned around and looked at the three of them laughing, with a look of pure disgust.

'Enough demonstrating! I'm going to come amongst you now and put you all into pairs. Professor Snape, if you'd like to help me…' he said as he began to walk through the crowd.

'Ah! Miss Potter, how about you and Mr Weasley pair up? Don't go too hard on Miss Potter, ok?' he cajoled.

Fred looked taken aback and Emalia was positively seething.

'Do you think Albus would let me off with a warning if I hexed a Professor?' she seethed, as she sent daggers after Professor Lockhart.

'Face your partners!' called Lockhart. 'When I count to three, cast your charms to disarm your opponent – only to disarm them – we don't want any accidents. One … two … three …'

On three Emalia cast a non – verbal spell, quickly disarming Fred. He watched on as his wand flew above his head.

'… how?' he asked unsure of what had just happened.

Emalia smiled and blew a kiss at him. Fred retrieved his wand and grinned at Emalia. He was about to say something, but the whole room erupted in pandemonium. Emalia looked around, completely bewildered at the chaos. She saw Snape watching on as Lockhart tried to regain order, with what could nearly be classified as a smile on his face.

She grabbed Fred and pulled him to the wall and cast a shield charm to protect them from any wayward charms. 'What in the name of Merlin is happening?' asked Fred in amazement, as the two of them watched on.

Eventually, Professor Lockhart managed to grab everyone's attention once more. From what Emalia and Fred could see, he volunteered Harry and Draco to demonstrate. Emalia and Fred watched as Lockhart got the two younger boys set up for a few minutes; but their attention drifted elsewhere as they started sending sparks at people, which would zap them, as if they had been flicked with an elastic band.

They were laughing quietly amongst themselves, as they had managed to locate Paisley Parkinson and Grahame Montague and had begun targeting them. The confused and infuriated looks from their unwitting targets had taken their concentration. It was only when there were screams from the crowd did, they turn to face the stage.

There they could see Harry, facing a snake, but not only that but he was hissing at it, as if he was talking to it.

'Is he …' Emalia trailed off, Fred nodded mutely, both of them fixated on what was unfolding before them. They watched in shock as Ron pulled Harry off the stage and out of the Hall with Hermione hurrying alongside them.

The duelling club did not continue for much longer, with Professor Lockhart and Snape dismissing the students back to their dorms. When the Gryffindors arrived back in the Common Room, everyone was whispering about Harry and his ability to talk to snakes.

'Eh, can you do that Emalia?' asked Lee, looking a little afraid. Emalia shook her head wordlessly; she was still trying to process this. Fred sat beside her and held her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze every so often. Emalia smiled gently at him and made a mental note to find Harry tomorrow and speak with him privately.

The next morning the whole grounds had been blanketed with a thick layer of snow, which meant that all outside classes were cancelled. Emalia had been keeping an eye out for Harry, but she could never get to him when he was alone.

Emalia was in the middle of Ancient Runes when it was disturbed by Peeves yelling 'ATTACK! ATTACK! ANOTHER ATTACK! NO MORTAL OR GHOST IS SAFE! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! ATTAAAAACK!'

Cedric and another Hufflepuff girl wrenched open the door. Emalia's heart dropped to her stomach as she ran out to the corridor. When she reached the source of the commotion, she could see two burly sixth year Ravenclaws pinning Harry against the wall.

Emalia pushed forwards to them. 'Let go of him!' she demanded angrily.

The two boys looked at her 'No way! And let him flee the scene of the crime?' said one of them.

Emalia whipped out her wand 'Let him go, before I make you' she seethed, her eyes flashing black.

Professor McGonagall came running, followed by her own class, one of whom still has black and white stripped hair. She used her wand to set off a loud bang, which restored silence, and ordered everyone back to their classes.

The two Ravenclaw boys let go of Harry and Emalia lowered her wand. 'If I see either of you so much as look at him funny, I will hex both of you beyond recognition.' The two boys scoffed at her, as she stared daggers at them.

'We aren't afraid of a fourth-year girl' laughed the other boy.

Professor McGonagall at this time was dealing with Ernie Macmillan, a second year Hufflepuff who was shouting accusations at Harry. She watched as Professor Flitwick and Professor Sinistra escorted Justin up to the Hospital Wing, while Ernie was given the duty of wafting Nearly Headless Nick upstairs.

'Miss Potter back to class' ordered Professor McGonagall as she escorted Harry away. Emalia gave him a small smile as she watched him follow McGonagall in the direction of the Headmaster's office.

When she got back to class, she could hear Roger Davies and one of his friends discussing the whole debacle.

'If you ask me, the Potters seem to be a bit unstable' said Roger loudly.

'No one asked you Davies' responded Cedric from across the room.

'Oh yeah? Sounds like you have a little crush there Diggory. Pity for you, she only seems to like poor red-head losers' jeered Roger.

'Keep running your mouth Roger, I have absolutely no problem hexing you. In fact, it would make my day' seethed Emalia staring at him, her eyes narrowed.

'It would probably make everybody's day' added Cedric laughing, which incited laughter from most of the class causing Roger to go a nice shade of puce with anger. Emalia grinned at Cedric; her mood had improved greatly and she appreciated the support.

When she got back to the Common Room after class, she informed Fred of what had happened, as it was sure to get back to him. Quentin, the Ravenclaw boy Roger had been talking to, was the biggest gossip of their year. But not only that, Emalia shared everything with Fred. He was not impressed. 'Davies is such a prat' he spat angrily when Emalia told him.

The double attack on Justin and Nearly Headless Nick turned what had hitherto been nervousness into real panic. There was almost a stampede to book seats on the Hogwarts Express so that students could go home for Christmas.

Harry was fed up with the muttering, pointing and hissing as he passed by groups of people. Fred and George, however, found all this very funny. They went out of their way to march ahead of Harry down corridors, shouting, 'Make way for the heir of Slytherin, seriously evil wizard coming through…'

Percy was not impressed with their behaviour. 'It is not a laughing matter' he said coolly.

'Oh, get out of the way, Percy,' said Fred 'Harry's in a hurry.'

'Yeah, he's nipping off to the Chamber of Secrets for a cup of tea with his fanged servant,' said George chortling.

Emalia had to agree she found Fred and George's antics very entertaining. Not that she had much time to enjoy it. She had taken a very different approach and instead was hexing people who were being particularly nasty to Harry and had been doing quite a good job at not getting caught.

One day however, Professor McGonagall caught her hexing the two sixth year Ravenclaw boys who had pinned Harry against the wall. They had shoved him near the staircase nearly causing Harry to fly headfirst down the stairs if she had not used magic to keep him upright.

The two boys had sprouted slimy tentacles all over their face. Professor McGonagall, as it transpired, had seen the whole interaction and only after berating the two boys sent them to the Hospital Wing.

'Follow me Miss Potter' said Professor McGonagall as she walked towards her office. Once there she proceeded to run through the rules of magic in the corridors and against other students. 'A week's detention with me. I will have you sort through the various materials I need for class each day. I will see you at 8 o'clock sharp.' McGonagall dismissed her and once out of the office Emalia breathed a sigh of relief, she was lucky, but she was sure Albus would be informed of her behaviour.

She trudged back to the Common Room, not annoyed at her behaviour; she annoyed that she got caught. Fred noticed the look on her face when she walked into the Common Room.

'What's wrong?' he asked as he walked towards her.

She wrinkled her face before saying 'I have detention every night this week, just because I saved Harry from breaking his neck falling down the stairs.'

Fred looked at her curiously 'Why do you have detention for saving Harry?'

'I may have hexed two sixth year Ravenclaws for trying to shove Harry down the stairs…' she sulked.

Fred started laughing, 'You're amazing.' He pulled her into a hug and kissed the top of her head 'Remind me not to get on your bad side.' Emalia smiled at him; Fred always had a knack for making her feel better.

Every night that week, Fred walked Emalia to Professor McGonagall's office, and he was always waiting for her in the Common Room. It was not how she had expected to spend the last week of first term, but she was happy to have these little moments with Fred.

At last, the term ended, and a silence deep as the snow on the grounds descended on the castle. The Weasley's had chosen to stay at the school rather than visit Bill in Egypt with their parents. Percy, who disapproved of what he termed their childish behaviour, didn't spend much time in the Gryffindor Common Room. He already told them pompously that he was only staying over Christmas because it was his duty as a Prefect to support the teachers during this troubled time.

On Christmas morning, Emalia awoke with a start when she felt someone sit on her bed. For a moment sheer panic overtook her as the rest of her dorm mates had returned home for the holidays. When she managed to orientate herself, she noticed Fred sitting at the end of her bed, grinning at her.

'Did I scare you?' he asked fighting back the urge to laugh.

'What? How did you get in here?' she asked confused.

'You really think I wouldn't be able to figure out how to get up the stairs? I am hurt' he chuckled playfully.

'Shove over' he said as he pushed her gently. Emalia scootched over, giving Fred space to lie down beside her. He put his arm around her, and she snuggled into him, breathing in his scent.

'Merry Christmas Emalia' he said as he took a small package out of his pocket, giving it to her. She sat up slightly, out of Fred's arms much to his annoyance, and gently opened the gift. Inside was a silver locket. Emalia gasped in surprise. 'It's beautiful' she whispered.

Fred sat forward and gently opened the locket, in there was a picture of the two of them embracing and laughing. Tears of happiness filled Emalia's eyes; it was the perfect present.

'May I?' asked Fred, indicating that he wished to put it on her. She nodded dumbly; words escaped her for a moment.

'Where did you get the pictures?' she asked.

'Oh, you know that first-year who is always taking pictures of Harry? Well, he came over to me before Halloween with a few pictures and asked me to give them to you. Obviously, I didn't 'cause I had the idea to do this instead.'

He had finished with the clasp, the locket hanging from her neck, Emalia turned to Fred and kissed him.

'I love it, thank you' she said smiling before kissing him again.

She pulled away and jumped out of bed before quickly bending down to rummage underneath her bed for his present.

She handed him a small box, he ripped open the wrapping paper. Inside were the usual prank materials but underneath that lay a piece of parchment with his name on the top and a small brass compass.

Before Fred could say anything, Emalia began to explain what she had gifted him.

'I enchanted the piece of parchment. There is another half to it, which I have; basically, we will be able to write notes to each other. Only we will be able to see the notes. I figured it would be an easier and quicker way to stay in contact over the summer.'

Fred grinned at her, he loved it. A simple piece of parchment, but it was more than that for the both of them.

'And the compass, well I am actually really proud of this' said Emalia excitedly as she angled herself on the bed so she would be facing him.

'So, I charmed it to start to sing if any of the professors get close to you. See the button on the top of it? It's supposed to be for a chain but well, I figured if I could get a way for it to emit a type of location spell it would let you know who was lurking around a corner if you were up to any mischief.'

Fred stared at her with amazement, he could not believe what Emalia had just told him. She continued explaining the ins and outs of the spell she used. He watched her as she talked; he could see how proud she was of her achievement; how happy she was giving it to him, how nervous she was to see if he liked it, and that was when it slipped out.

'I love you' he murmured staring deep into her eyes.

There was a moment of silence between them. To Fred it felt like an eternity, he could see the surprised in Emalia's eyes, and he was sure she could see the shock in his. He had not meant to blurt it out like that, but it was true. He was completely and utterly in love with Emalia Potter.

Emalia was still staring at him, but suddenly she pounced on him, kissing him feverishly. She eventually pulled away.

'I love you Fred' she said smiling at him.

He broke out into a wide grin, and kissed her once more, deepening it. When her lips touched his, Emalia felt the world melt away, the electricity between them sent sparks down her spine. Emalia moved and she was now straddling him. Fred's hands began to roam her body, while Emalia's hands ran through his hair.

Their kiss deepened and with Fred's hands roaming over her body, Emalia began to slowly grind on him, subconsciously. Fred groaned into the kiss; Emalia took that as an opportunity to slip her tongue into his mouth.

Fred pulled her closer to him and broke the kiss 'You are driving me wild' he growled.

She could feel him underneath her hardening, the friction between them stimulating her. There was a particular spot that when she hit caused her to moan into Fred's mouth.

He pulled away from her and took her in with lust filled eyes. 'Merlin you are so incredibly sexy' he said breathlessly. He put his forehead to Emalia's and sighed. 'As much as I would like to continue this, we should probably head down to the Common Room to the others. Plus, I really do not want Percy knowing I am able to get in here.'

Emalia nodded; she pecked his lips once more before she got up off him. 'And you better get dressed, I have er – something to take care of' he said bashfully, a slight red hue appearing across his face.

Emalia turned pink, but she smiled coyly at him. "I'll see you down in the Common Room then' she said as he got up to leave. Before he walked out the door, he pulled her into his arms and kissed her gently. 'I love you Emalia' he murmured to her when he pulled away.

'I love you too Freddie' she smiled.

When he had left, Emalia danced for joy. Fred loved her. He was in love with her. She was beyond happy. There were no words that Emalia could use to convey just how much she loved Fred. She pulled on her jeans and a jumper before making her way to the Common Room with the gifts she had gotten for her friends in her arms.

When she arrived down in the Common Room she was greeted by Ron, Harry, Percy, George, Ginny and Hermione.

'Merry Christmas!' she exclaimed when she saw them all. She gave everyone their gifts and watched on happily as they opened them.

'A personal organiser! Why thank you Emalia, this was just what I needed' Percy said happily. Emalia grinned, she had seen George roll his eyes dramatically behind Percy before laughing. Minutes later Fred came jumping down the stairs two steps at a time, a huge grin on his face.

Emalia herself had received some gifts, a jumper and some homemade fudge from Mr and Mrs Weasley, Hermione had given her a record from a muggle band which she was excited to listen to.

When everyone else made their way down to the Great Hall for breakfast, Emalia made her way to Albus's quarters to have breakfast and exchange gifts. He greeted her warmly, the two of them chatting as their breakfast appeared in front of them.

'So how is Mr Weasley?' asked Albus, his blue eyes twinkling. Emalia smiled 'He is fine Albus.'

She began to take a sip of her pumpkin juice.

'Good, and I hope that you are … being responsible' he said as he cut into his omelette.

Emalia spluttered as she nearly choked on her juice.

'As your guardian, it is my responsibility to ensure that you know about relationships and what comes with that' began Albus.

Emalia was mortified 'No, Albus I really do not need another talk. One was enough.' She thought back to when Albus had explained sex to her. It was mortifying and afterwards she was not able to hold a conversation with him for more than ten seconds.

'Well now, if you are quite sure?'

'Yes! Yes, I am quite sure' she said hurriedly, desperate for this topic of conversation to change.

Albus chuckled to himself, the rest of their breakfast was held in relative silence. When they had both finished eating, they exchanged gifts.

This year Emalia had gotten Albus a pocket watch that told not only the time, but also the location and date of the wearer. She had also enchanted it, so the inside of the watch displayed a variety of different constellations or phases of the moon.

On top of that was the regular box of sherbet lemons and a large woollen purple scarf that she had knit. Albus hugged her and thanked her for the wonderful gifts, before handing her a box. It was heavy, heavier than she expected. She opened it carefully, inside was a camera. She looked up at Albus.

'I overheard young Mr Creevey saying you were buying pictures from him' he began 'I figured this way you could learn, take some of your own of you and your friends. Make memories, immortalise moments.'

Emalia was speechless, she gently placed the camera on the couch beside her and embraced Albus. 'Thank you' she whispered, 'It is amazing!'

Later that day, everyone met in the Great Hall for Christmas Tea. The Great Hall looked magnificent. Not only were there a dozen frost-covered Christmas trees and thick streamers of holly and mistletoe criss-crossing the ceiling, but enchanted snow was falling, warm and dry, from the ceiling.

Dumbledore led them in a few of his favourite carols, Hagrid booming more and more loudly with every goblet of eggnog he consumed.

Percy, who hadn't noticed that Fred had bewitched his prefect badge so that it now read 'Pinhead', kept asking them all what they were giggling at.

Everyone was enjoying their food and the relaxed atmosphere. Eventually they returned to their respective Common Rooms, all except for Harry, Ron, Hermione and Percy who was off on prefect patrol.

None of the others had realised they were not there. Ginny and George were playing a rather raucous game of exploding snap at one of the tables. Fred and Emalia were sitting on the couch in front of the fireplace, snogging.

'Oi, don't forget to come up for air every once in a while' teased George. Fred broke off their kiss and grinned at his brother, before the two of them resumed what they had been doing previously.

When Percy arrived back in the Common Room however, he broke up what Fred and Emalia were at. 'You are not animals. At least try and have a little decency' he huffed.

'What's wrong Perce?' asked Fred 'Who's got your knickers in a twist?'

George and Ginny laughed from the table, trying to cover their laughter with coughs when Percy glared at them. 'It is getting late Fred; you should go to bed. All of you!'

'It's only nine o'clock, it is way too early. Plus, it's the holidays, I am pretty sure they don't mind us staying up later than normal, Perce' said George as he pulled his hands back from the table narrowly avoiding a card exploding in his hand.

'Aha! I win Gin!' he exclaimed joyfully.

'No fair! Percy distracted me!' she complained 'Best out of seven?'

Percy, seeing that he was not going to win this battle resigned himself to his room and was not seen for the rest of the night.

Ron and Harry eventually came back to the Common Room, they were both half expecting questions, but no one said a word. They joined in George and Ginny's game of exploding snap, which was getting louder and louder.

Fred and Emalia were sitting on the couch, half watching the game. 'Can I ask you a question?' whispered Fred as he played with Emalia's hair. 'Mhmm' she responded, her eyes closed as she relaxed.

'Do you mind if I stayed with you tonight?' he asked quietly making sure that only she would hear him.

Emalia's eyes shot open and she looked at him. 'Seriously?' she asked surprised.

'Yeah, I mean I don't have to if you don't want me to. And obviously nothing will happen you know. I just would like if we could sleep in the same bed' he said quickly.

Emalia looked around and could see that the others were engrossed in their game. 'Won't George miss you?'

Fred laughed. 'I am sure George can survive without me for one night. Unless you would like to sleep in my dorm? Though I am pretty sure the chances of Percy catching us are significantly higher that way.'

Emalia laughed herself imagining Percy's outrage if he found her lying in Fred's bed with him. 'Yeah, I don't think your dorm is an option'

'So ... is that a yes?' he asked smugly

Emalia kissed him. 'Oi stop, we have seen enough of that today' shouted George.

The two of them grinned back at him. 'Yes' whispered Emalia.

She got up, yawned and stretched loudly 'Well, I am going to go to bed. Goodnight everyone.'

They all wished her goodnight, when she got to the stairs she turned and winked at Fred. He grinned up at her. A minutes later he followed suit. 'Don't stay up too late, or else Percy will be down scolding you all' he called as he made his way to his dorm. Ten minutes later George made his way into the room, Fred took that as his cue to leave.

'Where are you off to?' asked George curiously as he watched his brother bundle some of his clothes under his arm.

'Well, I am going to stay with Emalia… for the night' he said quietly in case Percy was lurking nearby.

'I don't want to know' said George sticking his fingers in his ears. Fred started laughing. 'No, it's not like that' he said shaking his head.

'Yeah Freddie, I still do not want to know' he said as he flopped onto his bed 'Tell Emalia I said no funny business. And you! No funny business.' George grinned at his twin as he walked out of their dorm.

Fred looked around for Percy before he made his way to the stairs. He quietly snuck up the stairs and knocked gently when he reached Emalia's dorm. When she opened the door, she smiled up at him 'What took you so long?'

He leaned down and kissed her gently 'Had to wait to make sure Percy wasn't on the prowl.' Fred looked around for somewhere to put his things, he set them on top of trunk at the end of Emalia's bed.

'I hope you don't steal the covers' she teased as she watched him set his stuff down. Fred chuckled. Emalia jumped on the bed, a little too excitedly, and ended up bouncing off the bed landing on the floor with a loud thunk with her feet up in the air.

Fred froze. 'Emalia are you alright?'

She did not answer, instead she started laughing hard, Fred joined in for she was still lying on the ground with her legs in the air. He walked over and pulled her to her feet and into a hug. He kissed her on the top of her head.

'I am going to have a massive bruise on my arse' she mumbled. Fred, who still had his lips pressed to her head, began to laugh once more.

'I promise I will not slap your arse until the bruise goes' he teased gently.

'Oh shush' she laughed, pushing him away.

'Maybe this time don't take a running jump' he laughed as she made her way to get into her bed. Emalia stuck her tongue out at him before gently getting into bed. Fred climbed in beside her and immediately pulled her to him. He kissed her forehead as she yawned quietly.

'Sleep well darling' he said as he wrapped his arms around her, settling in for the night. 'Goodnight Freddie' she whispered as she lay her head on his chest. She drifted off to sleep, wrapped up safe in his arms and listening to the steady beat of his heart, she never felt more loved.

Emalia woke up the next morning before Fred. She lay with her head on his chest listening to the steady beat of his heart. She slowly turned her face, angling it up to gaze at his. Fred lay there sound asleep, with a small smile playing on his face.

Emalia continued watching him for a few moments, studying his face and noticing how long his eyelashes were. She cuddled back up to Fred, soothed by the steady thump of his heart and the rise and fall of his chest as he breathed.

When Fred woke up, his arm was half asleep. That was the first thing he registered when he woke. The second was the pressure he felt on his chest. He looked down and saw the silvery blonde head of Emalia lying on his chest.

He grinned as she turned towards him. 'Did I wake you?' he asked softly, his throat slightly dry after the night.

'No, I was awake' she responded, 'your heart started beating faster.'

'Because when I woke up the first thing I saw was you' he murmured as he placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. 'What time is it anyway?'

'A little after ten in the morning' she replied, rolling over onto her stomach, placing her arms on Fred's chest, resting her chin on them. Emalia smiled up at him 'We should probably get up…'

Fred sighed, he did not want to move, he was beyond content lying in bed with Emalia. He would gladly spend the day lying in bed talking to her. 'Yeah, we probably should. I'm sure Percy would be on the rampage if he had an inkling that I was up here'

Emalia laughed softly, rolling onto her side before sitting up and swinging her feet off the bed. She looked back at Fred who was lying in bed watching her, his arms crossed behind his head a grin on his face. 'Close your eyes' she laughed 'I need to get dressed!'

'I'm not allowed to watch?' he grinned cheekily his right eyebrow cocked.

Emalia turned a slight hue of pink and shook her head 'No. Now close them!' she ordered.

Fred held his hands up in defeat. Shutting his eyes and placing his hands over them he muttered 'I love a woman who takes charge.'

Emalia giggled as she got changed. She was about to pull on the jumper Mrs Weasley had sent her when a different jumper caught her eye. She picked up the jumper and pulled it on. 'Ok' she said, 'I'm dressed.'

Fred pulled his hands away, his eyes open. He broke out into a wide grin when he saw what she was wearing. 'I am pretty sure your name does not start with an F' he teased.

'From now on I am Famalia Potter, and this is my jumper' she announced. Fred laughed as he got out of bed. Walking over to her he pulled her to him and wrapped his arms tightly around her waist.

He leaned down and kissed her gently 'You look good in my clothes' he murmured when he pulled away.

'Your clothes! This is my jumper Freddie' she laughed as she pushed him away 'Go get dressed! I'll wait outside.'

'You could watch, I'm not shy. I don't mind if you sneak a peek' he said with a wink. Emalia turned bright red and walked out of the room.

Fred laughed as she walked out and quickly got changed. He found Emalia waiting for him outside the door. His jumper was way too big for her, it hung way past her waist and the arms were too long, so she folded the ends, letting it sit more comfortably.

'You do realise it is snowing outside' she said when she noticed that Fred was dressed in jeans and a t-shirt.

'Yes, but I seemed to have misplaced my jumper' he chortled. Emalia grinned at him 'You should be more careful with your belongings Freddie' she said.

'Oh yeah? Come here and I show you careful darling' he said with a grin on his face. Emalia laughed and made a run for the stairs, taking it two steps at a time. Fred was close on her heels, and when they both reached the Common Room, he reached around her waist, lifted her up into the air and swung her around laughing.

Emalia giggled. The Common Room however was not empty, Harry and Ron watched on confused at where they had both come from.

'Fred… Did you just- How did you get into the girls' dormitories?' asked Ron.

'Don't be silly Ronniekins, I can't, the charm won't let me' replied Fred quickly, a sly smile playing at the corners of his mouth.

'Oh, I forgot my jumper' he said suddenly 'I will be right back!' He pecked Emalia on the lips before running up the stairs to his own dormitory to grab a jumper. There he found his brother, just about the leave the room.

'Well, it's about time you came back' said George 'It was strange being alone in this room.'

Fred laughed 'Oh come on now Georgie, you can't have missed me that much!'

'Missed you? Ha! Last night was the first night I haven't had to listen to you talk about Emalia in your sleep' teased George.

Fred pushed his brother 'I do not' he muttered quietly before challenging his brother to a race down to the Common Room. But before they could begin Harry and Ron came bounding into the room.

'Emalia said to get your coats' said Ron, a dreamy look on his face 'Snowman fight after breakfast.'

'A snowman fight? Are you ok Ron?' asked Fred. Ron nodded dumbly.

'That's what Emalia said' continued Harry who was trying very hard not to laugh at his best friend. Fred and George looked at each other but complied and brought their coats, hats and scarves with them to the Great Hall.

After breakfast Fred, George, Emalia Ron, Harry and Ginny all made their way outside into the fresh snow. They had invited Percy, but he had declined. The six of them made two snowmen which Emalia then made slightly bigger using the engorgement charm.

They each took turns making the snowmen walk into each other, the first one to fall over or lose a body part lost. It was all going well, everyone was having fun, laughing in the crisp afternoon, their faces pink from the cold when Percy came striding over. He looked remarkably like a dragon with all the hot air he was puffing out of his nose, his face contorted in anger.

'Well, I never! Breaking the rules!' he hissed at them.

'Well actually Percy, we are not technically breaking any rules' said Emalia quietly 'We are not using magic on another student, nor are we using magic in the corridors.'

Percy's face turned a deep shade of red, a vein bulging in his neck 'Get inside before I report you to Professor McGonagall' he seethed.

The six of them trudged back inside, albeit rather reluctantly and made their way back to the warmth of the Common Room. They peeled off their outer layers and hung them on the chairs, before sitting down on the couch and armchairs near the fireplace and played a variety of games, keeping them occupied until dinner.

After dinner, Harry and Ron disappeared. When they returned to the Common Room Emalia was suspicious. 'Where have you been?' she asked quietly cornering Harry.

'Er- well..' stammered Harry.

Emalia looked at him sceptically 'Come on, spit it out.'

'Hospital Wing, visiting Hermione.'

Emalia looked at him confused, and he told her the whole story.

The next morning after breakfast, Emalia made her way to the Hospital Wing to visit Hermione. She spent a good portion of the morning there, having brought some books for light reading, and snacks down to the younger girl to keep her entertained.

The remainder of the Christmas holidays flew by, with Fred spending two more nights sleeping next to Emalia. She was going to miss having him beside her. She slept better when he was around, she felt safe and relaxed.

The last night before everyone returned Fred stayed with her. 'I am going to miss having you sleep next to me' she murmured as lay on his chest. Fred was playing with her hair. 'Me too' he sighed.

'Better make the most of it then' smiled Emalia as she sat up and faced him. She leaned in and kissed him hungrily. Fred kissed her back eagerly. Their kiss deepened, becoming more heated, that Emalia moved her body on top of Fred, straddling him.

Fred's hands roamed over her back, down further caressing her buttocks. Emalia slowly started grinding against him. Fred groaned into her mouth. 'You're driving me crazy Emalia' he growled lowly. Emalia smiled seductively at him and captured his lips with her own once again.

She continued grinding on him, she could feel his excitement underneath her, which turned her on. The friction was sending small sparks of pleasure through her, she moaned into Fred's mouth.

Fred pulled away from the kiss, his eyes heavy with want, slightly breathless. 'As much as I want to continue this and see where it goes…. We should probably stop and get some rest' he breathed.

Emalia nodded, as much as she did want to cross that line with Fred, she knew that she was not quite ready yet. He pulled Emalia into his arms, fully aware of his situation making a mental note to sneak off and take care of it later when she was sleeping, and kissed the top of her head.

'I love you darling' he said gently.

Emalia smiled to herself 'I love you too Freddie.'
