Chapter 38, enjoy!
January 19th
(Julie is 26 weeks pregnant)
Billy parked his truck in the empty spot next to Tim's trick in the school parking lot. It was nearing 3:30, and he should be getting out of school pretty soon. He sat in his truck and piddled with the radio while he waited. The bell must have rang because a storm of teenagers started flooding the parking lot. He saw his brother's distinctive long brown hair and jumped out of his truck. Julie was following him, swallowed in one of his sweatshirts to hide her growing stomach.
"Hey Tim," Billy awkwardly greeted shoving his hands in his pockets. "Hey Jules,"
"Hey. Uh what are you doing here Billy?" Tim asked.
"I needed to talk to you," Billy vaguely answered. "I just got back from dropping dad off at the rehab center in Fort Worth, and let me tell you, that was no easy task," Billy explained. "So you can come home, he's not gonna be there to hurt you anymore."
"Ok-" Tim started.
"If you want to move back in. I don't know what ya'lls plan is," He interrupted motioning between Julie and Tim.
"Ok, we'll talk about it," Tim said, opening the passenger door for Julie. "I'll let you know," He added crossing the front of his truck to get in on the driver's side. He started the engine and backed out of his parking spot.
"So what are you gonna do?" Julie asked him.
"Don't know," Tim simply answered.
"Well I would like you to stay. I think my dad likes having you around, I think my mom likes having you around-"
"Do you like having me around?" Tim interrupted with a smirk.
"No, I don't," Julie answered with a strait face. Tim had a shocked and confused look on his face. "I love having you around," She added busting out laughing. Tim laughed and shook his head. "But really, they all like having you around, I like having you around, and when little Miss Riggins gets here it would be nice for her dad to be there to help out when she's crying at 3 AM."
"Well, if it's ok with your parents, I would love to be there when she's crying at 3 AM," Tim responded with a sweet smile. I really did get lucky in the boyfriend department, Julie thought. When they got home, Tami was already home so they waited to bring anything up until Coach got home. Tim sat on the couch watching some golf tournament on the TV while he anxiously waited for Coach Taylor to get home. I wonder if they'll let me stay?
"Uh Coach, can I talk to you and Mrs. T?" Tim asked when Eric walked in the house.
"Yeah, what's up," Eric asked.
"Well, Billy got my dad into rehab and asked if I was ready to move back in," Tim explained. "But the thing is, I kinda like living here and I want to be able to help out with the baby."
"Let Coach and I talk about it. We're kind of cramped on room here, if you can't already tell," Tami responded, motioning for Eric to go to their room where they could discuss the matter.
"What are you thinking?" Eric asked her once they pulled their bedroom door shut.
"I think we should let him stay. His grades have gone up since he's lived here, he's safer here, and he really wants to be in this baby's life and help out with her. The only problem I see is where he's going to sleep," Tami replied. "He can't sleep on my living room floor forever."
"I think we should let him stay in Julie's room," Eric expressed.
"She is already pregnant," Tami agreed. "And that way when the baby is born he'll be right there to help out."
"Well, welcome roomie!" Julie joked when her and Tim were getting ready for bed that night. Tim chuckled, slipping under the sheets. Julie let her hair down from the ponytail she had it in and crawled into bed next to Tim. "I love you," She whispered, snuggling against him.
"I love you too," He responded, kissing her on the forehead.
"Oh my gosh, she's moving so much," Julie said placing her hand over her stomach where her daughter was kicking.
"Are we ever going to come up with a name, or are we just going to call her 'she' and 'her' and 'Miss Riggins' her whole life?" Tim asked.
"Good question, I don't know," Julie answered. "Do you have any ideas?"
"I still like Rylie," Tim suggested.
"Rylie Riggins, it has a cute ring to it," Julie complimented. "But Rylie seems so common, what about Rylan?"
"Or Raylee," Tim added. "Or Raelynn."
"Are we just going with R names?," Julie teased.
"Do you not like that?" Tim asked.
"I think we should be open to names with other letters," Julie answered.
"I think we should go to bed," Tim suggested in a tired voice.
"It's kind of hard to do that when your daughter is kicking me nonstop," Julie replied. "So welcome to sleeping with me roomie," She joked. "We sleep when Rylan sleeps,"
"Now didn't you just say we needed to think of other ideas?" Tim asked.
"And your the one who asked if we were just going to call her 'she' for the rest of her life,"
"My bad, can we please go to sleep now?" Tim asked.
"Yeah, good night," Julie said snuggling closer to him. "I'm glad you're here," She added with a whisper. "And I'm sure Miss Riggins is glad your here too," She told him, kissing him on the cheek.
Hope ya'll enjoyed! Please let me know what ya'll think, I've been having a bit of writers block as I am (sadly) nearing the end of this story. I love this storyline so much I think I'm going to have to do a sequel. Ya'll are the best! Until next time...
