A/N – I have had some inquires on where people can find the photos that were mentioned in earlier chapters. Unfortunately it looks like FF deleted all the links and I tried but I just can't remember the info. SO…Here is what I did…
I sent up an Insta account for my fanfiction. I will post photos like outfits, places, etc. on my stories and then make a Highlight for each of my Fanfictions. I will also use the account to post sneak peaks, story ideas, maybe even my progress on current chapters. So, if you would like to follow me my username on Insta is JavaJunkie110, I JUST set it up so please be a bit patient as I gather all the photos and re read my fic so I can place them in the correct order!
OK that is enough with this super long Author's Note let's get back to he story and see how they will fix Caroline!
Chapter 38
"What is the last thing you remember?" Rebekah finally asked. Klaus and Elena were too busy staring at the poor girl in shock.
"Um…" Caroline looked at Elena and gave her a look. "We were in the woods…" She said. When Elena didn't catch on Caroline nodded her head towards Klaus and his siblings.
"Bloody Hell!" Klaus screamed as he stood up and ran his hand over his face. "Esther erased our entire relationship from her memory."
Elena shook her head. "Caroline that was nearly two months ago."
Caroline shook her head and stood up. "Wait, your mother is back?"
Klaus took a few steps over to Caroline and once again tried to take her hand in his. "We took care of her, Love."
Caroline pulled her hand away for the third time. "Why do you keep trying to touch me!"
"Sweetheart…"
"You know what…" She said holding up her hand. I just want to go home and have a blood bag."
"Caroline you should really stay here until we figure this out." Bonnie said.
"I will go get you one, Darling." Kol volunteered.
Before Caroline could ask why he would do that for her Kol was gone.
"I can't believe all those memories are just gone." Rebekah said taking a seat on one of the chairs.
"Maybe it isn't the worst thing in the world." Elena said shrugging her shoulders.
Rebekah using her vamp speed, sped over to Elena. "Bite your tongue." She said through her teeth as she backed Elena into the wall. "My brother loves her, we all do."
"Alright Blondie." Damon said squeezing himself in between the two girls. "Back it up."
"Look everyone just needs to calm down. We all want the same thing…to help Caroline."
"Actually, Caroline would like to just go home." Caroline said.
Kol walked in and handed Caroline a blood bag. "Here you go, darling. I will put the others in the fridge."
Elijah, Klaus, Rebekah, Kol, Jeremy, Elena, Stefan, Damon, and Bonnie all sat around the rest of the day trying to figure our how to fix what Esther had done. Between the fighting and the zero answers they had come up with everyone was exhausted and needed to get some sleep.
"Come on, Sweetheart you can stay with us and I will contact a few witches tomorrow to see if we can find some answers."
Caroline laughed. "I am not going anywhere with you."
"Fine." Klaus said doing his best not to lose his temper when speaking to her. "I will drive you."
"Bonnie can drive me."
The moment Caroline got home she changed out of the shirt she was wearing, she had no idea why she was wearing a man's shirt let alone where it came from. She pulled on a pair of shorts and her softest most comfortable tee shirt then climbed into bed. It had been the craziest day of her life and that was saying a lot since her life had not been simple since she turned.
The morning sun streaming through Caroline's window hit her face and woke her. She moaned and tried desperately to go back to sleep. When her efforts proved unsuccessful she slowly sat up and grabbed her phone off her nightstand. Three new messages.
The first was from Elena.
'Morning Care. I am heading over to Stefan and Damon's. Bonnie is already there so just come by when you get up. We are going to fix this mess. Promise.'
The next was from Rebekah.
'I know you don't remember but you are pretty much my best friend. I am going to The Grill around 1. Please think about meeting me.'
The last message was from Klaus.
"I know you loathe me at the moment, Sweetheart but I wanted to check on you and see how you are doing. I am waiting on some calls back from a few witches. I may have to go out of town to meet with a few of them.'
Caroline sighed. She definitely wasn't in the mood to sit around the Salvatore place all day once again trying to think of ways to fix her, especially since she felt completely fine.
Caroline laid back down and decided she would look back through her text messages. What she found shocked her. This really wasn't some elaborate joke. Her and Klaus were close…really close. She honestly had no idea what to do. The thought of being with Klaus scared the hell out of her. How could she ever feel safe around him but according to their texts she felt completely safe.
Caroline got out of bed and got dressed. She decided to go meet the original sibling that didn't scare the life out of her and see if that helped her feel any different about this whole situation.
Caroline walked into The Grill and immediately spotted Rebekah. She was sitting alone in a booth to the left of the bar. Caroline walked over and took a seat across from Rebekah.
"I must say, I am a little surprised you came." Rebekah said.
""You and me both." Caroline said with a small fake laugh.
"Nik is a mess. He didn't sleep at all last night."
"I read some of our old texts." Caroline said.
"And…"
Caroline shrugged her shoulders. "He scares me." She paused. "I can't even imagine a world where I would be a hundered percent comfortable being around him alone let alone being in a place where I would send him the messages I apparently did."
"Nik is different around you. Actually he has changed a lot since the two of you have gotten closer."
"I can't just tell myself to…not be scared."
Rebekah gave her a sad smile. Her concern was shocking to Caroline; this wasn't the Rebekah she had grown to loathe. "Nik won't stop until he fixes this."
Before Caroline could respond her phone rang. She dug it out of her purse and saw that it as Elena. Caroline let out a small sigh then hit the answer button.
"Caroline. Where are you?"
"At The Grill." She said simply.
"Didn't you get my text?"
"Yeah, I got it. I will swing by in a little while I guess." Caroline was so confused. She wasn't even sure she wanted this to be fixed. It wasn't like she was dying, she was perfectly fine.
Caroline hung up and shoved her phone back in her bag.
"You are welcome to come back to my house and see if Nik has heard back from any of the witches."
"I think it would be best if I just go meet Elena and Bonnie."
Rebekah nodded and gave Caroline another sad smile.
