Having Fun?
"It's mine Zuko, give it back," Katara demanded. Zuko held up the tropical fruit,
"What…you mean this? You'll just have to take it from me, Princess." He teased wagging his finger. Katara huffed.
"Oh, I will. You asked for it, Bubble Butt." She growled. The two masters moved back and forth in the small room trying to outmaneuver the other for control of the last mango in the house. The graceless struggle ended in a writhing heap of limbs on the floor. Aang walked in at the noise from the struggle and yelled,
"Hey! Katara, you promised you would give Zuko a chance! Zuko, I thought you said you two were friends. Why are you fighting like this? I really expected more from you two…" he said with heavy disappointment.
Katara and Zuko quickly stood up and Zuko moved the mango away just out of Katara's reach. They stood like two thoroughly chastised kittens in the middle of the room. The pair had enough sense to at least look ashamed.
"The two of you should try to work out your differences. How can we fight a common enemy if we keep fighting amongst ourselves?" Aang admonished and walked out shaking his head. Katara and Zuko fought back snorts and snickers then Zuko covered his eyes.
"Oh Gods, he can't be this clueless," He groaned. Katara sighed wearily.
"He doesn't listen! Aang has some weird "Katara fixation" that I can't explain. Toph had a talk, Sokka said something. You tried to tell him…" she said. Zuko interjected.
"Have you? "Tried to tell him? I think he would listen to you, but you just kind of pat his ego and send him on his way." Katara frowned at his maybe too close assessment and Zuko put his free hand on her cheek lovingly.
"Don't be angry, babe. I'm not criticizing you. Either you're afraid of hurting his feelings or… maybe you do secretly want to bang Avatar, you know? It's OK, I won't judge." Zuko said with a smirk. Katara slapped his bum and was rewarded with a high-pitched "Ack!".
"You know who I like, Jerkbender, and you know who I want to be with," Katara said softly moving her hair from her face. She started wearing her chocolate-colored curls loose more often because Zuko loved running his fingers through them. She sighed deeply.
"I'm just not looking forward to having the conversation, at all." Katara groaned. Zuko raised his eyebrow.
"The longer you wait the harder it's going to be for you, Kat." He advised. Katara held out her hands.
"Give me the mango, Zuko. I need my strength to ruin the Avatar's dreams." She said poking out her bottom lip. Zuko rolled his eyes and snorted again.
"You're so dramatic sometimes, Princess. Alright, here." He said handing her the mango with one hand while pulling her close with the other.
