Breaching the surface, they started heading for land. There, they collapsed in exhaustion.
" I can't believe...she reversed...my magic." Twilight heaved, trying to breath in some fresh air.
" Well... at least were back in our old bodies again." Applejack replied, getting water out of her ears.
" Even so, would that mean we're only like this for three days?" Rarity questioned.
" I mean...technically we took the same potion as her."
" True..." Twilight nodded, remembering the incident.
" Since we did, we better make the best use of it."
Looking over, the ponies noticed Ariel laying on a rock. She woke up and saw her brand new legs for the first time. She smiled with glee.
" You like them Ariel?" Pinkie asked, playfully rocking her legs.
Ariel cheerfully nodded.
" She can't talk, remember?" Fluttershy told her, causing Pinkie to blush in embarrassment.
Soon Scuttle showed up and saw Ariel's legs as well, though it took him a little longer to notice. Ariel attempted to stand up, but it was hopeless and she fell back into the water.
" Whoa Ariel! Going a bit too fast don't you think?" Rainbow Dash playfully joked, catching her after she made another attempt.
" Just look at her!" Sebastian exclaimed in disbelief.
" On legs! On human legs!"
" Look, my girls and I can work this out." Twilight calmly told him.
" No. This is catastrophe!"
He was about to go back to Atlantica and tell King Triton what happened, but Ariel stopped him and eventually convinced him to help her out.
" Don't worry darling. We'll have you kissing that handsome prince in no time." Rarity confidentiality told Ariel, winking at her.
" Before we do that, shouldn't we help her adjust to her new legs first?" Applejack suggested.
" Not until we get some clothes on her first." Twilight pointed out.
" Not going to find those on the beach I'm afraid." Scuttle said.
" But I know the next best thing!"
Having looked through the debris that was laying nearby, Scuttle found some clothe from a torn sail and gave it to Ariel. When she put it on, the ponies smacked their faces in disbelief.
" She's dressed in trash! What's the prince going to think if he sees her like that?" Rarity let out in disgrace.
" It's not great...but it will have to do." Twilight said, wishing that Scuttle had found something else.
A dog's barking was heard and the group saw the prince coming.
" Here he comes. Good luck!" Pinkie told Ariel before she and her friends hid.
Ariel quickly got on top of a rock to try and avoid the dog. After licking her face, Ariel heard Eric's voice and saw him appear.
" Quiet, Max." He said to his dog.
" What's gotten into you fella?"
Looking up, he saw Ariel.
" Oh, I see."
Twilight and her friends, Flounder, and Scuttle watched Eric talked to Ariel.
" Do you think he recognizes her?" Fluttershy asked.
" I don't know." Twilight answered.
When they heard Eric say that Ariel was familiar to him and Ariel nodding that they have met, Eric was enthusiastic, thinking it was her that saved him.
" He sure caught on fast." Rainbow Dash remarked.
But when he asked for her name, Ariel couldn't say anything. Eric's notion of her being the one was swiftly tossed out.
" Oh c'mon!" Pinkie yelled, making her friends hold her down and shushing her.
" That's not fair! She...was...so...close!" Pinkie struggled between breaths.
" Relax Pinkie! You're gonna get us caught!" Rainbow Dash told her.
" Eric and Ariel WILL get together. You'll see." Twilight calmly said.
" Getting those two to truly fall in love with each other in three days seems a bit...obscure. Don't you think?" Applejack pointed out, knowing that romance is something you don't just rush into.
" Applejack. The last few princesses we helped practically married their prince on the same day that they met." Rainbow Dash reminded her.
" How is this any different other than adding a couple of days?"
" It isn't. You're right." Applejack replied, feeling a bit dumb.
" Not only they need to get together, but we have to make sure Ursula doesn't get her slimy tentacles on Ariel." Twilight reminded them.
" Agreed." Rarity replied.
" We're with you girls! Flounder and I will help out too." Scuttle proclaimed.
" Great!" Pinkie exclaimed.
They then noticed Eric helping Ariel on her feet and walking away, wanting to help her. She looked back and grinned at her friends as they quietly congratulated her. When they were far away enough, Twilight and her friends followed, keeping themselves undetected.
