A day has passed. Onboard the Kishin:

Medusa once again enters the auditorium a day later. Maka is covered in bruises, trying to have escaped her chains.

"I don't know why you keep hurting yourself, dear. Those are steel chains. You're not going to break out of them."

Maka only glares at her. "What are you doing here?"

"Waiting."

"For what?"

"For your dear lover, of course."

"How do you know that he will come?"

"Because, you, my dear, did an even better job than I thought you would." she paused, "From what Crona tells me, he is madly in love with you."

"Good job." She taps Maka's nose, and a memory of her adolescence reaches the forefront of her mind. It was a symbol of affection between her and her father. Maka gathers the saliva, in her mouth to spit at her face. She misses, and Medusa chuckles.

"He won't come. I left him to join his worst enemy. He probably suspects me too. You won't have your way. You won't be able to…"

"Kill him? No, I assure you, I will. Don't underestimate the power of love. Even if he suspects you, he will still come. That is the power of love. You were the right woman for the job."

Maka shudders, "I didn't do anything for you. Stop making it sound, like I work for you!" Her voice drops to a softer tone. "I just fell in love."

"Feeling guilty? You should. Whether you wanted to, or not you accomplished to job nicely. You developed a strong bond with Kronos, boarded his ship, and made him fall in love with you. A perfect underling, indeed."

"Why did you choose me? You could have chosen anyone else, to do this for you."

"You're exactly his type."

"What? That cannot be why you picked me" An unmentionable red flush comes across Maka's face, and Medusa cackles.

"How priceless. You fell in love as well. With someone who trapped you on his ship?"

"It's not like that."

" That is exactly what it looks like.."

"In response to your earlier question,"

" I picked you." Medusa glances towards Asura, who has now entered the room.

"You're supposed to be watching your brother, and his little friends."

He waved off her concern, "I asked Kronos to replace me. I wanted to meet her?" His eyes lighted with a sick pleasure.

"Stop interrupting me." It was said in an entirely joking tone, but her eyes were corroding his.

"Fine. But it was my choice, my story to tell." Asura snaked closer to Maka, looking directly into her eyes, before looking away again."

"It's a kind of revenge for so many years ago, when your father saved mine's life."

"Is that so unfortunate?" He smiles, and answers her question.

"I was the one who was trying to kill him."

" Your father sent me away quietly, preventing me from ever returning, but he didn't tell my father, nor my brother about my 'accident'. He pushed me out of my home, prevented me from assuming my legacy." Asura breaks out into a toothy smile.

" But Your father was too softhearted to bury his past hatchets. He could not kill me, or lock me up. He should have. Either would have prevented me, from killing him a year later, after meeting this lovely lady." He gestures towards Medusa.

"You killed my…" Maka struggles against her chains, trying to lunge at him. He sneers in her face.

"I murdered him. Oh, you should have heard him scream!" His eyes light up, happy with the past memory. "It was music to my ears. The man who had banished me, and prevented me from gaining power, dead. Of course his action were useless anyway. My father died, only half-a-year after my failed attempt, because of Queen Medusa." Asura laughs hysterically,

"How do you feel about his father, now. His kind-heartedness came back, but to haunt you." He smiled, his eyes wide with purpose, but demented all the same.

Maka looked away in disgust. But, she had another question. And as long as the villains were waiting for Soul, it wouldn't be bad to pry information from them.

"I have a question."

"Oh,so she's brave enough to speak."

"I'll humor you, since we have time. What do you wish to know?"

"Did you sink the S.S. Citanti?"

"Yes." She smirked.

"Why?"

"It would help me get through to Soul."

" But, there was no need to kill those innocent people. You could have gotten to Soul without harming anybody." Maka's hands are shaking, the handcuffs seem to be barely holding her back from strangling this witch. She tests the handcuffs againing, jerking her hand at an angle; they don't give. "Those people had families, you didn't need to harm them."

"I didn't have to, but it would have made things so much easier for me." She smiles lighty, seemingly brushing off the severity of death so easily; she seemed immune from the gravity of her actions. Maka hated people like that. People who hurt others, not realizing the consequences that others would hold.

"But I suppose that's not entirely the truth. After what I did to his brother, my nephew wasn't going to let me anywhere near to him. He had already been sighted a few times, and so I did what anyone would do, I took advantage of the moment. People care, you know. They wouldn't have let him off, they would have chased him to the ends of the Earth, and perhaps even killed him for me. But I suppose that would take the fun out of things. I've been chaing him for a year, I have to have my climax."

Medusa was sick, Maka wrinking her nose in sheer disbelief, and disgust.

"You're not human."

"Just the same as Soul, and the others. It's not the worst thing I've heard."

" They're nothing like you. Even if there bodies are inhuman, they have human hearts. You're a monster!" A monster who lied, who used people, who killed discrepantly, even killing own family off to obtain power.

Crona walks into the room slowly, his head down.

"Kronos. I hope you have good news?"

"They are here."

"Wonderful." She turns to Maka. "You, my dear are about to see the resolution of our great conflict."
