In Fucking Review: Neji wanna do Naurto, Naruto..,or well Kurama, is doing the Uchiha's and Kakashi is doing everything but Iruka. There..youre up to speed.
Neji sat quietly in the gazebo in the large garden behind the manor as he reflected on the week's events.
He knew what Itachi was up to...at least he hoped so.
The man was smart and was filled with secrets. Rarely did he let himself go and held himself to a high standard, however for the past couple days, Neji has had the lovely pleasure of watching this perfect person unravel before him, which brought him an odd sense of glee.
Itachi was the one to propose this idea for the restoration whatever whatever. Sure it kept the incident from last week out of the public's mouth but Itachi was also keeping him busy...
He wasn't seeing the omega as often as he should to monitor the progress of the hypnosis.
He was a bit worried that Itachi was beginning to suspect foulplay, however, Itachi wasn't a betting man. He only approached everything with facts and he would do whatever it took to find the facts. The wolf alpha had yet to approach him about it and thus he felt he had still yet to be caught but he would still be wary just in cause.
"Neji? What are you thinking about right now?"
The soft voice halted his train of thought and he looked over at the source. The small familiar female smiled as she approached the small gazebo to which Neji sat in quietly to watch the night sky having just arrived home from a long meaningless day of work. In hand she held a small wooden tray complimented with two cups and a beautifully decorated sake bottle which caused the male the chuckle.
Hinata knew him too damn well. It was a little annoying.
It was like she knew everything.
"Stuff...nothing out of the ordinary."
She nodded a bit in reply and placed the tray down, having a seat on one of the available chairs that surrounded the table to which he leaned on and smiled over at the male before looking off in the distance at the sky as well.
"It's a beautiful sky tonight. Will you be going out tonight as well?"
"If I don't then it it will affect the end result."
"Mmmmm..." She hummed a bit "then don't drink too much."
She joked as she eyed his hand that already clasped a filled cup to which he brought up to his lips with a smirk.
"Back at you sister dear."
She chuckled and also poured herself a glass, downing it in one go and releasing a mighty sigh of relief. Neji did the same.
It was nice and sweet. It was fulfilling...it always was.
"You should have bought some side dishes with you."
"But then you'd never leave for you mission, dear brother."
"Fair point."
The two sat in silence one again enjoying the simple view of the sky in the far distance from where they sat. The dull moonlight kissed the tips of the trees and the star scattered horizon hid been to tall brick manor walls...
'So...tall...so very tall.'
A thought that always came to mind when he looked at it. From when he was a child to now...it still crossed his mind.
"You're not a prisoner, Neji."
Broken out of thought once again, Neji looked over at the female alpha who also stared at the wall in the distance quietly...the wall that kissed the sky and became the new horizon.
'The only horizon we'd come to know from young.' She thought.
"What?"
"You're not a prisoner...and yet you shackled yourself to the here. Imagining your own chains. You can leave you know. It's not your job to make up for the past. It is not your fate."
The air remained silent for a bit before it was broke by a scuff that resounded from the throat of the male bat alpha.
"Hinata, you're not making any sense." He replied as he poured another cup.
"Neither are you."
"Hinat-"
"I just felt like you needed to hear it is all. Pay it no mind if you wish."
She smiled and also poured herself another cup, remaining quiet.
A silence
An annoying silence.
"I'll do that then." He downed the cup, the end feeling being less satisfying that the first. He sighed a bit resting down the cup before forcing himself to his feet and grabbing his discorded suit jacket from the chair beside him.
"I'll be going now, Hinata-sama."
"Did the sake taste so bitter that you resorted back to honorifics?" She asked, not looking back as the male began to walk out the gazebo and into the night, only hearing his last words carried by the cold wind.
"Yes, it was revolting."
Itachi sat on the patio quietly looking at the sky. It was a beautiful night that he wanted to burn into his mind. He couldn't remember the rest of the day so the least he could do was remember the night.
He dealt with alot of calls upon waking up, questioning his disappearance from work and it took alot to resolve them. He was tired now, so he took it upon himself to bathe and simple enjoy a glass of wine in the gallery.
In hand he held the book he had no recollection of buying and opened it up in slight curiosity. From the title he could already guess what to expect, however, he only knew about three:
The Uchiha Clan, The Hyuga Clan and The Inuzuka Clan
He skimmed through the book a little until he found a chapter dedicated to the source of his curiosity...
'The Rebel Alliance?'
Itachi wasn't completely surprised by the name of the group. He did know a bit about them but what he knew never sized them up to be a clan in his opinion.
The 18 chapters dedicated to this alliance and nothing else, however, paints them in a far greater light than he had known.
The war ended when he was a very young child so he didn't remember much other than guarding the manor and base whenever instructed by his father in order to protect mother. Afterward, he watched the world try to sort itself out all while still being trained in war tactics and such in the event that the Treaty of Tranquility was broken.
The war he experienced wasn't even really considered a war, at least no in comparison to the many more gruesome and depressing ones that came before. The war was believed to be a cover for battle among the hybrids. The ones before were against humanity but the last one was more against each other when the lack of omegas was brought to light before the Hybrid Council. There is still no real indication which clan officially started it, however...one could guess.
Keeping Neji around was dangerous.
Itachi sighed. He was getting tired of all this run around and placed the book down beside him, nursing his headache with a sip of the aged wine and inhaling deeply...listening to the silence of the forest.
The rustling of trees.
The shifting of grass...
The screech of car tires...
His attention perked up as he looked toward the dirt made road that lead to the cabin in wait for the unwelcomed vehicle and yet the sound stopped and one never arrived. Nothing pulled into the clearing.
...but someone was in the forest.
Itachi felt his excitement boil and licked his sharpening teeth.
'A small night run wouldn't hurt.'
