I am crazy at this point, no? I just can't stop updating, but ya'll love it anyway! Last chapter was the continuation of the Kyoto flashback with Fuutarou meeting all five of them, and this one will be the conclusion. Yep, this'll be the last of the flashbacks for a good while, because we still have to get to the quints' POV of the events. However, we're a long way from that, so let's just see where things lead us to! Fuutarou let out a deep breath as he thought about everything that happened that day, which caused his eventual meeting with those five girls who turned out to be his soulmates. Man, the circumstances that all led up to that moment were kind of crazy, now that he thought about it.

He wouldn't have met those five Renas, or as he knew them, the Nakano quintuplets, if he didn't join the school trip in the first place. His school announced it as an optional activity, and students weren't required to join if they didn't want to. However, he decided to give it a shot and see if it will ease his boredom and he had nothing else to do in his home anyway.

He should thank his eternal boredom then, because not only did it lead to him joining the school trip but it also became a factor in him meeting his fated soulmates. The tour guides were damn boring during the entire trip, leading him to take the opportunity to sneak away from his group while they were in Kyoto, so that he can explore the place by himself.

And then, there were the girls themselves.

The Nakano quints weren't a part of his school, which means they were there either because their alma mater coincidentally chose Kyoto for their own school trip, or it's simply due to their family going there. They were rich, right? They could have gone there anytime they wanted.

"Looking back on it, I really was kind of a jerk back then…" he thought to himself with an amused smile, remembering the conversations he had with those girls. "…but somehow, they got through me and I suppose the rest is history."

After one last look at the moon up above, he went back inside, while thinking about how exactly did he come to know them as 'Rena' when they met.

"Rena… so those girls were just messing with me back then… but I guess I'm not one to talk. I wasn't exactly a 'good friend' at first…"

He chuckled to himself, feeling both amused and somehow embarrassed from the actions of his younger self in the past, mainly because he was a changed man now. Despite this, however, he'll continue hold the promise they made deep into his heart, not just for himself but also for the people that he cared about.

And that promise began with them telling their names to each other.

Fuutarou looked at all of the girls, and almost all of them looked like they were expecting something from him. Their expressions were still different though, one had a small smile, one had that blush which he was still confused until now, one had a blank stare, and the other had an eager look on her face. Except for the pouting one who folded her arms and turned away, they all turned to him with the desire for an answer.

Okay, why was this happening again? Oh, right.

They wanted to know his name.

"It's a bad idea," was what he told himself and thought of just ignoring them because he had no obligation to tell them anything. But, he can't find it in himself to do that. He could just walk away instead, though he already made his decision to stick around because he had to repay them somehow for helping him. Even with that, he was sure that these girls won't stop pestering him about his name until he eventually gives in, especially the one with that infuriating smirk on her face.

He had to faint right after seeing those four other girls, huh?

Screw whoever was up there that caused him to pass out.

And so, taking a deep breath, the boy uttered his next words while already regretting this decision that he came to.

"Uesugi Fuutarou."

The girls were all surprised with him at first, as if they weren't really expecting him to say it, but he still did. He raised an eyebrow at each of them in confusion, wondering what's with their looks of surprise. They wanted to know his name, right? Well, there! He just told them who he is, even though he didn't feel comfortable with them knowing!

"That wasn't hard, was it? My name's Rena!"

The girl with the ever-present amused look spoke up, her surprised expression turning into a genuine smile. Fuutarou gave her a nod of acknowledgement and from there, she was followed by the girl with the blushing cheeks, the one with the blank stare, then the girl whom he encountered earlier.

"I-I'm Rena…"

"You can call me Rena."

"I'm Rena too! Nice to meet you!"

On the outside, it would seem like he was unaffected by their words but in truth, he was already feeling stumped with this new information he was receiving. Why the hell did the four of them share the same name? There's gotta be a catch to this… either they were messing with him, or they had different names and 'Rena' was just a part of it.

"Hmph. I don't have to tell this boy my name."

It was already obvious who spoke those words and there was no need to add an indication for the readers.

"Aw, come on! He's never had friends before so let's be his first friends!" said the girl whom he first met, clinging on to her sister in a desperate attempt to get her to change her stance on the matter.

"I don't want to! Leave me alone!"

"What's wrong with introducing yourself to him?"

"Because he was teasing me!"

The girl with the blank stare hid a little smile to herself, finding her sister's stubbornness amusing to watch. "I don't see anything wrong with what he said…"

"Ehehe, don't mind her. She's just trying to get used to you! Anyway, her name's Rena too!"

Teaser Rena (yes, that's what he'll refer to her from now on) chuckled in a nervous manner, before turning towards him with a big smile. He wasn't that surprised upon knowing the name of the last girl, because he already saw it coming when the four of them introduced themselves.

Who wouldn't?

Four girls, who were all quintuplets, sharing one name? Why not add in the last one to complete the set?

He folded his arms before shaking his head slowly. If they wanted to play a prank on him, couldn't they have done a better attempt then? Telling him that they all have the same name was just as bad as saying that they were all the same person and he was dreaming of them. Seriously, Fuutarou felt sorry for whoever got fooled by this lame attempt at a joke.

"Five Renas? It sounds like you're pulling my leg."

Instead of looking disappointed, Rena the Teaser had a smirk on her face instead. Oh well, it's just what he expected of her.

"Oh? Why would you say that?"

"You may look the same in every way possible, but you're not the same person. I know I'm not dreaming either, because I just woke up earlier from fainting."

She started to giggle, before flashing her damn teasing look that quickly got to his nerves. "But isn't that your fault? You just saw us and then all of a sudden, you were knocked out. Maybe we're too beautiful for you to handle~?"

Okay, he was done. He won't give a shit anymore. Never mind the fact that he had to 'repay his debt', because he already did. He already stuck around for a few minutes, right? He gave them some of his time, and what did they do?

They tried to play a prank on him by saying they were all 'Rena', and that's not all. Teaser Rena, or whoever she truly was, just kept on teasing him which he clearly didn't like. After all, it was the reason why he snapped at them earlier when he was just asking why they looked the same.

So much for introducing themselves to each other.

He sighed and shook his head, mainly because of disappointment at himself for the 'debt' that he felt he had. "Alright, since this talk is going nowhere and you have nothing else to do other than tease me as you wish, I'll just be on my way. Pretend we never met."

"Oh, I… guess I went too far there…?" Teaser Rena laughed nervously, rubbing the back of her head. Welp, that didn't turn out the way she wanted to. She was just doing some harmless teasing, that's all… but it seems like he ended up taking it seriously.

"What do you think?" he deadpanned at her, before turning his back on them for the second time today.

"I'll be happy to! Hmph! What a weird boy…"

"You got your wish then," Fuutarou acknowledged Meanie Rena with a small nod, already deducing that it was the girl with the eternal pout who said those words and he didn't need to turn around for him to know.

"That's mean of you."

"W-Well, he was teasing me! I can't forgive him for that!"

"It was pretty harmless to me, ehehe…"

"Well, there he goes. We were trying to be nice and you blew it."

"W-Why are you blaming this on me…?! You were teasing him, weren't you?!"

He didn't care about who was speaking because it wasn't his problem, and he didn't want to have anything to do with them anymore. He already gave them some of his time and even went as far as to tell them his name! The same can't be said for them, however, because of their lackluster attempt at a prank by telling him they were 'Rena'.

"W-Wait, please! Don't go just yet…!"

Fuutarou was brought out of his thoughts when he heard one of them directly from behind, causing him to turn around in confusion. That feeling quickly turned into surprise when the girl who had reddened cheeks was staring at him as if she wanted something.

He'll refer to her as Shy Rena then… even though he had no idea what was causing her to feel that way. Was this simply her normal demeanor most of the time?

He raised an eyebrow at her. "What do you want? There's nothing we can talk about and one of you doesn't even want me around, so just go back to your parents and pretend we never met."

The girl seemed like she wasn't listening to him at all, and instead looked nervous about what she was going to say. Regardless, she pushed herself to speak despite feeling flustered.

Wow, despite her obvious embarrassment, she was still brave enough to speak her mind. He can respect that to a degree.

"I… Can I walk with you…?"

That… wasn't what he expected, if he had to be honest. She… wanted to walk with him? That's a question in which if he was anywhere else and not with these girls at the moment, he would've fell to the ground face-first out of pure confusion.

"…huh?"

Shy Rena shook her head a few times, which surprisingly caused her blush to lessen in terms of intensity, but her cheeks were still red.

"Let's walk together…! M-Maybe we can go near the temple together?"

Fuutarou was able to snap out of his trance in time so he can give her an answer. "Aren't you supposed to be with your family? You don't even know me to ask something like that. I told you my name, but that's it."

He didn't bother pointing out the obvious fact that their names were not really 'Rena' and they were just messing with him, but oh well. It's not his problem whether they wanted to joke around, and it's not like he wanted to know who they were. Like what he said earlier, they were strangers to each other.

"Hey, stop it! She was asking you nicely, at least answer in the same way!"

Meanie Rena ran up towards him with a huge pout, inserting herself between him and Shy Rena as if she was protecting her sister. He only gave her a blank stare, unable to understand what exactly was her problem. Was she really this mad over the fact that he was 'mean' to her earlier?

"Why do you care? I thought you didn't like me."

"Y-You… why are you being so mean to me?!"

"I'm not even trying to act that way. I just want to be alone."

As Meanie Rena pointed accusingly at him with tears in her eyes, he couldn't help but sweat-drop at this girl and her demeanor towards him. Jeez, did she really hold that big of a grudge against him? Fortunately for him, Teaser Rena would spare him of the accusations by pulling her sister back with a reassuring smile.

"Now, now, let's not get at each other's throats. Come on, what's wrong with getting along?"

"It's his fault! He's just so mean to us! How can you even think of being friends with him?"

Meanie Rena cried, continuing to point accusingly towards the blonde boy, which caused Teaser Rena to sweat-drop as well. The remaining two, Cheerful Rena and Neutral Rena, joined them and tried to calm Meanie Rena down from her outburst.

Fuutarou gave all of them a deadpan look, as if he couldn't believe what he was seeing before him. Surprisingly, this caused all of the Renas except for Meanie Rena to feel their faces flush out of embarrassment, all because their sister was still hung up over the young man being 'mean' to her.

"Calm down, okay? Maybe that's just how he usually is and you're not used to it. Let's give him a chance, okay?"

Teaser Rena tried to explain to her sister that making friends with Fuutarou wasn't a bad idea, which prompted the young man himself to speak up about his own stance on the matter.

"Somehow, I agree with your sister. I don't see any benefit in spending time getting to know all of you, when sooner or later, we're all leaving this place and we'll forget about each other either way. Do yourselves a favor and just go back to your parents."

"You're right. It's just for today, and we're likely never seeing each other again after this," Teaser Rena explained calmly, before flashing a teasing grin that caused Fuutarou to feel uneasy. "But what's wrong with making friends just for one day? Besides, it looks like one of my sisters has a little crush on you~"

"Woah, really?!"

"Who would have known…"

"N-No, I don't…! I… it's not… like that…"

Teaser Rena turned towards Shy Rena, who quickly turned red at her sister's words and tried to deny it by shaking her head in a frantic manner. Cheerful Rena and Neutral Rena looked at the girl of the hour in shock and amusement respectively, causing her to look down in embarrassment to avoid everyone's gaze.

Fuutarou looked at Shy Rena, looking unaffected but was actually confused as to whether it was true or not. She looked up in time to meet his gaze, which made her blush even more and looked away as a result.

No, he didn't really care if she had a crush on him, that was something below him. What made him confused was that they only met just now, so how could that girl be attracted to him? Well, it wasn't his problem, he knew nothing about these girls to say anything about them.

"You can't be serious!"

"So? What do you say? We won't be leaving for two more hours at least, by the way."

Teaser Rena ignored Meanie Rena's cry of denial and kept her focus on Fuutarou, waiting for the boy's answer. It was accompanied by Cheerful Rena's words and her radiant smile, which caught his attention for a few moments.

"Come on, Fuutarou-kun!"

He remained silent afterwards, ignoring Meanie Rena's wailing and instead focusing on the other four girls. What was he gonna say as his answer? They had no idea, taking how Fuutarou acts so far into consideration. His face was passive the whole time and it lasted for almost half a minute, before cutting through the tension by sighing in defeat, sending the sisters a tired look.

"Will you finally leave me alone after that?"

"Fair enough," Teaser Rena giggled, while her sisters had varying reactions among them as expected. Cheerful Rena was celebrating, Neutral Rena gave a nod of acknowledgement, Shy Rena blushed and looked away only to hide her own smile, while Meanie Rena turned to her sisters in shock of what they were doing.

Was this really happening?

He shrugged, turning around to face them once again. "…fine then."

"A lot of things have changed ever since," Fuutarou let out a chuckle as he made his way to his father and sister. They were already asleep from watching television, making him shake his head in amusement. Waiting for him to get back must have been tiring for his family, and they succumbed to the desire for sleep as a result while watching television.

After switching the television off, he went off to look for a blanket, which he covered Isanari with before carrying Raiha in his arms. Making sure that nothing was out of the ordinary in the house, Fuutarou closed the lights and took his younger sister to her room.

Tucking Raiha into her futon, Fuutarou planted a soft kiss on her forehead before smiling. "I promise I'll give you the best birthday you ever had next year. You can count on it, because I will make it happen," he smiled at his sister's sleeping form before heading to his own room.

Letting out a huge yawn, the young man went inside his futon and linked his hands behind his head, before catching a glimpse of the moon outside his window. He thought about the girls for a moment, until he noticed his phone vibrating for some reason. It must be a text message, considering the fact that it didn't ring loudly…

Checking to see who messaged him at this time of the night, an amused smile slowly appeared on his face upon seeing it was Itsuki. Looks like she really didn't forget to inform him about her sisters' decision regarding the place where he would hold their tutoring sessions, and they all decided to let him come over to their home whenever it happens.

Oh, thank god… his legs are saved from eternal damnation!

After sending a quick word of thanks to Itsuki, Fuutarou turned his phone off, before thinking of one last thing as he closed his eyes and let the comfort of sleep take over his entire being.

"I wonder what's going to happen tomorrow."

And that concludes the Kyoto flashbacks, ladies and gentlemen! Finally, the day has also ended for Fuutarou, which went on longer than I expected, hahaha! From Chapter 19, it took 21 CHAPTERS TO FINISH ONE DAY! HAHAHAHAHA! Can you blame me, though? Lots of things happened to Fuutarou, including the bento from Nino, Itsuki and Yotsuba's little rivalry, and the revelation about their parents. But now that the day is over, what's gonna happen in the next one? Keep in mind that he'll now be tutoring in the Nakano apartment from now on :) Let's find out tomorrow!
