Garnet sat in the shade of the Cornucopia, sipping from a water bottle slowly. Watching the rest of the Careers move about the supplies.
She can see their disdain as they catch sight of her. A fifteen year old in the Career pack. Something unheard of in the buildup of the Careers full power. Although it doesn't seem like the Careers will ever return to their full power in the Games and outside of the Games. Garnet finishes the water bottle and slowly stands, clutching her knives she packs all but two of them into a bag and then fills the rest of the bag up with supplies she might need on the spot in the wilds.
The Cornucopia area is a mud slope, slippery and dangerous. The boy from Twelve learnt that the hard way. The mud slide then spills onto a swamp like jungle. The heat is visibly rising from this distance. Making the air quality on this mud mountain stuffy and humid. The rest of the Careers have already slid off. The crazy pair from Two sliding on their stomach in the mud. While the pair from Four and her District partner, Javin walk slowly down the slope wanting the least amount of mud on their bodies as possible.
Garnet follows the less muddy path down the mountain. Soon the Career pack reaches the bottom of the mountain. Looking back up in time to see a massive amount of mud cover the Cornucopia. Basically making the supplies inside unusable. Garnets face expresses the only real emotion she's shown this Games, a look of interest on her face. Withen her head gears whir like a well oiled machine. The Gamemakers want another Outlier Victor. Maybe its the new President who likes Outliers more or maybe its just the Gamemaker, Peachius Lazar or something. But whatever it is, it means a disadvantage for the Careers.
Garnet looks around at the rest of the Careers. The Twos have no supplies on their mud covered bodies and they don't have any weapons either. Garnet looks at the pair from Four, both hold tridents and have full bags filled with supplies. Javin also carries supplies as well as two spears. The pair from Four and One both look at each other and then turn as one and strike the pair from Two down.
Boom! Boom! The cannons boom and the Career pack clean their weapons quickly before heading into the swamp jungle, Garnet with a plan building in her mind as they walk through the jungle trees.
Final Six Feast
Garnet smiles inwardly. The first part of her plan went of without a scratch in the gem. The Careers hadn't suspected a thing, a small dose of Niviar and four cannons had boomed. Beautiful. Just like Niviar, Garnet had been tempted to try the posion herself but had only just held out. She wanted to go back home and then begin to build an immunity to posion. But first she had to win. This is where the second part of the plan comes in. The Feast was called only an hour ago, at the Swamp Tree. A tree that's hit by a lightning strike every hour or so.
The Feast table has appeared and on it is five golden knives, a backpack which is filled with medical supplies and another bag filled with food and water. Everything Garnet would need to last in these Games. Even now the hunger gnaws at her stomach. But she has a job to do first. She finishes putting drops of Niviar into each of the water bottles and places them around the table. Hoping no one sees her trap she quickly makes her way towards a nearby tree.
Within minutes the pair from Ten and the girl from Six all run to the table, eagerly picking the water bottles up and swigging desperately. Boom! Boom! Boom! Garnet moves quickly, looting anything of use on their body and then eats her last biscuit in her bag. She alternates between jogging and walking quickly to get out of the area of the kills she just made. Six kills and two left. Not bad for a fifteen year old. Not bad at all...
