The next day Skye spent in bed, she was exhausted and hurting. Sharon was with her the entire time and Maria was there when she could get away from her work. Peggy and Natasha came to check up on her, Kara had to go on a mission, and Sam had been by that morning before she had to go back to the Hub.
The day after that, Skye woke up feeling much better. When she opened her eyes, she saw that both Maria and Sharon were already up. When she stood up to go to the kitchen, she could hear them, Maria noticed Skye first, "Good morning Skye, and congratulations! You have presented, you are a Sigma," Maria said smiling and went over to give Skye a hug, which Skye returned. "How are you feeling, are you okay?" Maria asked.
"Yeah, I feel great, and I am so happy to not be called a puppy anymore," Skye said.
Just then Sharon came into view, Skye stood up straight and her eye's darkened. "Oh no," Maria muttered and moved back, knowing that it was Sharon that Skye's grown wolf was challenging.
Sharon heard Skye growling at her first before she saw Maria backing away. She didn't know if she should be amused or not, Skye had already challenged her once before, when she was claimed, she just hoped that Skye would submit faster this time. She also started to be concerned, Skye was bigger and stronger now, and it was difficult enough the first time, but maybe that was because she was so small back then, and didn't want to hurt her, and she didn't even want to think about that Skye was now her soulmate, well she was back then too, but they didn't know that.
She barely registered when Skye ran towards her. It was only a moment before Skye would have jumped her, and not in the way Sharon would have liked, Sharon decided to make this fast as Peggy had told everyone every time a new wolf was about to present, to make fast work of a challenge, as wolves do in the natural world.
Sharon sidestepped Skye's attack and gripped the back of her neck, Skye wasn't her soulmate right now, she was a challenger for her Alpha position. She slammed, or more like laid, Skye as gently as she could, and still be rough, on the floor on her stomach and saddling Skye's back, holding Skye's face down and exposing her neck, growling forcefully into Skye's ear. That did the trick, Skye flinched, and Sharon hated herself for making Skye flinch.
Skye didn't know what happened when she saw Sharon, only that deep down she wanted to challenge her, and so she did. She couldn't stop it, it was like something primal had taken over that part of her. The next thing she knew she was on her stomach with Sharon on top of her growling in her ear, it was so forceful and commanding, that she flinched.
That primal feeling disappeared, and she relaxed under Sharon, exposing her neck even more. Sharon made a pleased sound and moved away, helping her up, "This is the second time we are doing this. I will be teased so much about this, when the others hear about it," Sharon told Skye with a teasing scold.
Skye luckily heard the teasing, "Hey, don't blame me for that! Maybe your wolf is annoying mine," Skye teased back, Sharon glared at Skye.
"Oh no, no, no. If anyone's wolf is annoying another it is yours, pup," Sharon said.
"Hey! I am no pup anymore, I am a Sigma!" Skye exclaimed, glaring back at Sharon.
"It could be both of your wolves that are annoying," Maria spoke up.
"Hey!" both Sharon and Skye protested.
"Come on, I am hungry, and breakfast has been ready for a while," Maria dismissed them both, walking to the table and started to put food on her plate and eating. Both Sharon and Skye looked after her, then at each other before shrugging and followed the beta's example.
After breakfast Skye had asked what they were doing today, Maria had said that she had the day off, as an apology from Fury since she couldn't take off the day before. Sharon had said she hadn't been told to come in, so she was basically free, but she was on call. Skye had given them a wicked grin before standing up, ruffling Maria's hair before running away yelling over her shoulder to catch her if they could. It didn't take long before Sharon and Maria were on her heel. Skye hadn't gone far, of course, since she had run down the hall to the bedrooms. She could only run into one of the bedrooms and up over a bed to avoid them, but after the first time she had done that, it didn't work again; Maria had been waiting at the doorway for her, "No way to run now," she had smirked.
That was how Skye found herself in the position she was in now, again to her annoyance over Maria's shoulder, on their way to their bedroom. Sharon was in front of them, and Skye could definitely not feel Sharon's eyes on her ass, no she could not.
Skye yelped when she was thrown on the bed, and gasped when Maria jumped on top of her and connected their lips; Skye moaned when Maria's tongue interred her mouth.
When Maria pulled away, she just kept looking down at Skye, with a look Skye didn't know what it meant. Skye looked over to Sharon who was sat down on the chair they had in the room, leaning back and just looking like she was enjoying what she was seeing, "This is your own fault Skye, you ruffled Maria's hair," Sharon said. Was that amusement Skye heard?
Before Skye could ask what she meant, her shoes, socks, and pants were ripped off. Skye looked up at Maria whose eyes had dropped to her right hip where Maria's words were. "Hello, you must be the mysterious Skye, I'm deputy director Maria Hill," Maria whispered when she read them, Maria looked up at Skye's face again, and now Skye felt bad. Maria had only just now seen them, and Sharon had seen them almost right after the words were restored. Maria pulled her up into a sitting position.
"I'm sorry, I should have shown you them too," Skye said with tears in her eyes. Maria nuzzled Skye's neck, Sharon moved over to them when she felt the change from arousal and playfulness to just sad.
She sat down beside her two mates and just waited for them, "It's okay, I'm not mad, you were exhausted right after and yesterday," Maria said hugging Skye closer to her.
Skye buried her face in Maria's neck; this was not how she had pictured the day going, she had hoped that they would have spent the day happily in bed. "Hey, why the long face? We can still have fun today," Sharon asked, like she knew what she had just been thinking, then Skye realized that maybe Sharon had, so she narrowed her eyes at her. Sharon gave her an apologetic look and mouthed sorry, Skye shrugged and accepted the apology. "What do you say Maria? Should we have fun today? Or mope all day? And remember, Skye ruffled your hair," Sharon said, trying to shake Maria out of the bubble she had gone into while holding Skye close so she couldn't move and eyes on her words on Skye's right hip.
It worked, Skye was pushed back on to her back and Maria was on her again, starting over again. Sharon smiled and went back to the chair intending to look for now, she had loved watching them the first time and now she could do it again, from the beginning this time.
Sharon was indeed teased over the next three weeks about Skye challenging again. There was only a week left until Skye returned to the Bus and Sharon and Maria were practically glued to her side. It was starting to get a little annoying, she did love to spend time with them, but they were literally at her side. No matter what they were doing, one of them was directly at her side, always touching her, again she loved them both, which was a scary thing for Skye to realize, but she needed a little space, so she spoke with Peggy on one of the rare occasions of her being at the Lair, about her going to the Tower, to spent a little time with Tony and Pepper before she returned to the Bus, Peggy had agreed.
When she told Maria and Sharon that they both were sad she would be away from them for six days but understood that she wanted to see Tony and Pepper for a few days, she would still be with them on her last day before going back to the Bus.
There were a lot of kisses and hugs before she left.
Now Skye was waiting for Happy, Tony's chauffeur, bodyguard, and friend, or something like that. Skye wasn't sure, but she asked if it wasn't a long drive, just to pick her up, but both Tony and Pepper said that they had an apartment in DC, so it wasn't like they sent Happy from New York to get her in DC and then drive her back to New York, no they sent him from their apartment.
They had agreed on a place that wasn't the Triskelion; it would raise questions if Tony Stark's chauffeur-bodyguard came and got her there. When a very nice car showed up at the place, a man got out of the car, "You must be Skye, I am Happy," he said, first taking her bag with clothes and other stuff, and then he opened the car door for her.
"Yeah, hi," Skye said awkwardly, but she got into the car. She had of course seen Happy in photos with Tony a couple of times, so she wasn't afraid to go into the car with him, it was however weird that she was in the back seat.
About twenty minutes later, and a very quiet drive, they pulled into a private parking garage, Pepper was waiting for her at an elevator. Skye opened the car door before Happy could do it, but he didn't say anything, he just got her bag and gave it to her.
"Thank you Happy," Pepper said.
"Anytime, Pepper," He said, before nodding at them both and entering the car again and driving off.
"He doesn't say much, does he?" Skye asked.
"Sometimes, just wait until you two know each other better, then he will talk your ear off," Pepper joked.
"He doesn't seem the type," Skye said.
When they got up to the floor of the apartment Skye saw five other doors, one at the end of the hall and two on each side of the hall, "We are at the end," Pepper said.
When they walked into the apartment, Skye looked around. It was a nice apartment considering that no one really lived in it, except when Tony or Pepper were in DC. It had four bedrooms, two of them had private bathrooms, a living room and kitchen, and a bathroom for guests.
Tony was in the living room, looking at some papers, "Tony, we are on vacation with our daugh- um Skye, put that away," Pepper said. They had talked about what to call each other when they were first reunited, and they agreed to just wait and see; Pepper didn't want to pressure Skye to call them mom and dad, so she corrected herself from calling Skye, their daughter.
"It's okay, to call me your daughter," Skye interrupted her thoughts.
Pepper smiled at her, "Thanks, but you don't have to call us anything you're not ready for," Pepper said.
"I know," Skye answered.
Tony had been watching quietly, it wasn't often that his wife was a rambling mess, "Relax Pep, we only have five and a half days together, and I don't know about you two, but I don't want to spend them just standing around and rambling," Tony said, Pepper shock her head and Skye let out a chuckle.
"Are you hungry Skye?" Pepper asked, ignoring her husband's grin at making Skye laugh.
"Yeah a little," Skye answered.
"Okay, so why don't we order some lunch and then we can talk about what we should do for the next few days, but we still have to be careful. People don't know about you Skye, and I think it is still the best that they don't," Pepper said, Skye nodded.
"Yeah, it's for the best right now," Skye agreed, Tony sighed.
"Yeah, you're right, but I would like for people to know, one day," Tony said,
"One day, I think I would like that," Skye said to Tony, Tony smiled back at her.
When the food arrived, they sat down to eat, Skye had a bacon-cheeseburger, Pepper had ordered a fish burger, she said that she may have an addiction to them, and Tony had tacos.
"So, Skye have you presented yet? You mentioned the last time we spoke that it would happen soon?" Tony asked.
"Yeah, I have, a few days ago actually, it's been a crazy few days," Skye said.
"Let me guess, you challenged either Maria, Sharon, or both?" Tony said, smirking.
"Not both, only Sharon," Skye said, quietly, ducking her head.
Tony laughed, and Pepper laid a hand on Skye's shoulder, when Skye looked up, Pepper said, "Ignore him, he is a child sometimes," Skye smiled.
"Hey, I am not!" Tony defended himself. Pepper just smirked at him but didn't say anything. Tony went quiet and ate the last of his food in silence, Skye got the feeling that she didn't want to know what just happened.
Tony suddenly looked like he wanted to say something, but when he looked at Skye he went quiet again and looked deep in thought, "What is it Tony?" Pepper asked.
"I was just about to ask Skye if she wanted to do…. Something…. but I don't know if we should do it," Tony said unsure of himself.
"What was it?" Skye asked.
"Just Pepper mentioned that you wanted to go to Jiaying's grave, and I thought that we could go to Malibu, and visit, since we have time. Both Pepper and I have taken a little vacation, and you will be here for almost a week, so…." Tony said.
Skye looked to Pepper to see what she was thinking, and all she saw was a loving look in Pepper's eyes.
"Really? I would love that," Skye said.
"We can go to Malibu tomorrow, and then I think we should go to Jaiying's grave the day after," Pepper said. She knew Skye really wanted to go, and it had been a while since they had gone too.
The next day they went to Tony and Pepper's house in Malibu, Skye whistled when she saw the view, "Nice view," Skye commented.
"Thanks, just remember that you can always go to one of our properties if you want, JARVIS is instructed to let you in, he is even installed in the apartment in DC," Tony said.
"Cool," Skye said, looking out over the ocean in front of her.
The rest of the day was spent relaxing and talking. Skye was a little anxious about going to her mama's grave. She didn't know when she started to think of Jiaying, a woman she would never meet, as mama, and not call Tony dad or Pepper mom, who were both alive and sitting across from her. Maybe it was because Jiaying was dead and couldn't just decide to leave her or push her away, and Tony and Pepper could.
She mentally shook her head to clear it from those thoughts, she didn't want to think about it. She knew if she continued to think like this any longer, she would begin to think the same way with Maria, Sharon, and Bobbi, and she didn't want that either, so she focused on the conversation Pepper and Tony were having about how Tony couldn't understand Pepper's obsession with her fish burger.
The next day they made their way to the cemetery where Jiaying was buried. It was quiet at the cemetery, not that she expected anything else, the spot was deep in, so it took some time to get to it. The headstone was beautiful, there were also fresh flowers on the grave, daisies actually.
Pepper came up to stand beside her, "We have someone to come every week, to lay daisies, we thought she would have like that," Pepper explained, Skye just nodded, wiping tears away from her eyes before they could fall. She felt both Sharon and Maria getting concerned, and Sharon asking her over the mind link what was happening and if she needed help. She told them everything was fine, that they were at the cemetery visiting Jiaying's grave. They both pulled back and told her if she wanted to talk, they were there for her, she thanked them. Skye took a small step closer to Pepper and took her hand, Pepper looked at her and gave her hand a squeeze and smiled before looking back at the grave, Tony stood behind them and slowly put his hands on each of their shoulders, "We found her Jiaying, we found her," he said.
