Tobio's face was completely blank as Yamaguchi was awarded the first place prize. The freckled boy looked excited, nervous, and worried all at the same time. He glared as Yachi and Hinata high-fived on the third place pedestal. Tobio didn't understand how they could be happy to be in third. He wasn't happy to be in second. Then again, it also didn't feel great to be beaten by the timid class rep.
As soon as the awards ceremony ended, Tobio stumbled off of the second place pedestal, walking mindlessly towards the exits.
"Hey, Kageyama, wait up!" called an infuriatingly chipper voice behind him.
"What?" Tobio snapped back, stopping only to glare at the voice's origin.
Hinata had an extremely confused expression on his face. "I just wanted to say good job." He side-eyed the taller boy. "Jeez, you try to be nice to a guy."
Tobio grunted, his face red. "Sorry." His annoyed expression softened. "Good job to you, too."
Hinata's confused expression shifted into a wide smile. He laughed, hurrying to Tobio's side. Tobio's back straightened when he felt the redhead's small, soft hands wrap around his arm. He felt his face grow redder.
"Let's have a sleepover!" Hinata suggested, tugging Tobio in the direction of the exits. "It'll be at your house this time."
