Hey everyone!

Well it appears that the whole northern hemisphere is freezing and the days are slowly getting longer. I think we can say the long dark of winter is finally beginning to make an exit. Hopefully Spring brings with it happier and brighter times that we will all enjoy. I can safely say that I am writing again which is great. I should just warn that I may be changing my name on here between this update and the next one. So just in case I do I wanted to give a warning.

Stay safe and warm.

Lots of love,
LM xx

Breaking Traditions-Part 39:

"I think it's time for my parents to meet Rosa now," Lucius said as he was snuggled in front of the fire with Narcissa. It was two and a half weeks on from Rosalie's arrival at Malfoy Manor and she was now settled into a routine. It felt good to be in one. There was the usual newborn waking up at night but that didn't matter to them and now Lucius wasn't at the Ministry he was helping to take the night feeds, allowing Narcissa to sleep as well.

"Yes. I think it's time indeed. Sadly my father has been called away to deal with my mother but there's no reason now why your parents cannot meet her," Narcissa said softly, "Draco will be able to meet her then and then my father on his return and then I think Malcolm, Helene and Astoria should. After all they may end up parenting her if anything does happen," she said.

"Nothing will happen to use my darling, not before she's old enough to understand," Lucius reassured his wife and kissed her head gently, "but tomorrow my parents can meet her… preferably after she's had her mid-morning feed," he said and Narcissa chuckled before agreeing with her husband.

It was the next morning when Abraxas and Priscilla were surprised to see Narcissa joining them and Lucius for breakfast.

"So are you two ready to finally meet Rosa?" Narcissa asked causing Priscilla to almost choke on her coffee.

"Thank you for that," Priscilla said before seeing the smirk on her daughter-in-law's face, "but yes. We want to meet Rosa," she smiled.

"You can do after the mid-morning feed," Lucius said, "we know this hasn't been easy on either of you to wait but we wanted to make sure Rosa was settled before she met anyone else," he explained.

"Nothing to be sorry for. I know you've both been up and down in the nights with her so it's not a surprise really," Abraxas said, "but you two know when the right time for her to meet people is and we have respected that."

After breakfast Narcissa went off to the nursery and relieved the house elf watching the baby before she began to change Rosalie into an outfit that Priscilla had brought her granddaughter.

"You've got to look your best for Grandmother and Grandfather Malfoy," she said as the little baby's eyes looked roughly in her direction, "yes we have my little darling," she smiled before sitting down in the chair with Rosalie and waiting for her to want her next feed.

Eventually Rosalie began to grizzle and Narcissa began to feed her, completely forgetting the time. It was only when Lucius and his parents arrived did she realise that Rosalie had been a little late with her mid-morning feed.

"Just wait here a few more moments," Lucius said softly, "she's late with her feed today," he smiled as he watched Narcissa feeding their daughter.

It wasn't too much longer and Rosalie had finished and been burped. Narcissa moved to the sofa in the nursery and beckoned her in-laws over. Priscilla was already in love with her granddaughter and she hadn't even seen the little one's face.

Then there was a little gasp and Priscilla and Abraxas set eyes on their granddaughter.

"She's a little angel," Priscilla said as she looked at Rosalie, "that blonde hair though…" Narcissa let a soft chuckle escape her lips,

"Yes… not quite the blonde like ours but it's golden and remind me of the sun," she said, "it hasn't been easy getting her settled but she's now in a routine… well rough one… so it's now time for her to start meeting everyone," she said softly, "we were a bit afraid of us not settling down so we delayed the meetings but now she's getting settled it's the right time."

"Can I hold her?" Priscilla asked and there was something in Narcissa that changed at those words and Priscilla instantly noticed it, "we'll stay here next to you Cissa," she said instantly, "you have no need to worry."

Lucius had frowned at his mother's words before watching as Narcissa gently passed Rosalie over and smiled as his parents held their granddaughter and properly met her. He walked over and knelt down by his wife.

"It's OK Cissa. They're sensible and won't go anywhere with her without our permission," he said softly.

"Sorry," came a whisper back, "it's the first time anyone has held her except us and it makes me a little anxious and I'm not sure why…" she whispered as she bit her lip.

"Because it's the first time someone other than us has seen or held her and that's understandable but we have the most trusted people meeting her first," Lucius said before kissing her cheek and sitting on the arm of the sofa next to Narcissa.

"She's so beautiful," Abraxas said as he looked up at Lucius and Narcissa, "she'll be a little heartbreaker when she's older," he said and Lucius laughed,

"Now don't wish her to that stage already as we want to make the most of this time with her when she can't say no," he said as he looked at his parents, "that time is a fair way off yet father and you'll wish she was this little again."

"So will you my boy," Priscilla said with a chuckle as she looked at Rosalie, "you're such a beautiful little girl and I am so glad that I have lived to see this moment Rosalie," she said softly as Abraxas stroked the baby's soft cheek,

"Yes. So am I. There have been so many heartaches and heartbreaks but here is the end of the struggles," he said softly before falling silent as baby noises could soon be heard, "I think she likes us."

"I think so too," Narcissa said softly, now relaxed.

"What's the plan for who's meeting her next?" Abraxas asked.

"Well Draco will be next once we've cleared it with Dumbledore," Lucius explained, "we can't stop Draco. He keeps owling and asking when he's going to meet her. He's going to be such an amazing big brother to her. Then Cissa's father and then we're going to head to the Highlands so the Greengrasses can meet her. They will be an important part of her life as she grows up… or at least we hope they'll be," he said before smiling softly and just allowing the silence to fill the room as everyone watched Rosalie, just happy and thankful that she was with them and safe… safe and loved and had a forever home.
