His Silent Scream
Chapter 40
Author Notes: Oh god i've reached 40 chapters...how the hell did i do this within 2 months lol. Last time Atticus was being...well sad to say Atticus but no one cares about him, and the guys were talking about the upcoming school events before some guys decided to be jerks.
As someone who works in the retail business i'm thankful i've never had to be in Adrien's shoes exactly, but i've had my share of dirtbags...so i know his pain. So let's lighten things up a bit this chapter! I do not own Yugioh!~
3rd P.O.V
For once their hot air was being put to good use. "There's too many!" Haou rolled his eyes as he grabbed another balloon. "Shut up and keep blowing." He stretched the rubber, nearly out of breath with a red face. Jehu sighed as he rested his back against his boyfriends'.
Scowling as his current project literally popped in his face. "Those brats better be grateful." It was Jesse and Johan's eighth birthday, and that meant it was party time. But that also meant party prep where Jehu and Haou got recruited.
Though the latter more or so volunteered knowing they were going to need the help. "They will. I'm surprised they went with the hero theme though." The bluenette snorts, knowing fully why they picked it. And he couldn't help smirking as he met his lover's perplexed gaze.
"It's because a certain someone here used to have a hero's duel deck when he was younger. Now who would that be I wonder?" A small blush formed on the brunette's face. He was in denial. "No idea." His answer received a small chuckle before they went back to work.
Guests were due to arrive in about two hours with food and gifts. Jennifer was in the kitchen making a series of appetizers and snacks(for once not drafting Haou to do it) while they made birthday balloons. Several shades of blue and green bounced up and down on the floor.
The house was clean, streamers were hanging all over the place, posters of various duel monsters such as Sparkman and Avian hung on the walls and now they had the balloons to go with it. "Yugi said he'd bring them over in about an hour, so after this is done we get a break."
The shopkeeper absolutely adored the twins, as they loved hearing all of his stories. It was also because of that particular uncle that Jesse and Johan decided on the theme, having to mention Haou's small obsession of heroes when he was little. If you were to ask Haou now on his preference he'd go villains all the way.
But that was probably due to the twisted personality he obtained as he got older. Still the two were occupied at the Shade's game store, probably keeping Yami and Yugi busy while they set things up. A small pile of presents were already placed in a little corner in the living room, of course buried beneath rubber and streamers.
"Are you going to play during the party? Everyone's been asking." Jehu flushed as his latest attempt flew away, making a loud obnoxious fart noise as it fell. "Is that a request?" He hasn't played for a big audience since the winter festival.
Frankly he didn't mind pulling his guitar out, but he didn't want to make this day about him. It was about the twins and them having fun. "Jesse and Johan specifically requested it, though they didn't tell me what songs. Personally I wouldn't mind either. The music you make is wonderful."
All he got was a small hum for a few minutes. Both were catching their breaths at this point. There was at least two dozen of the blasted things covering the floor. And those were the ones that didn't pop or flee the room. "Ok this has to be enough." Jehu stood up with a stretch, yawning.
He had to get up extra early to clean the house before decorating and he was starting to feel it. Smiling down he held his hand out for Haou to take. A hand that was easily accepted, pulling him right to his feet.
"I'm going to go help your mom. You go scatter these throughout the house." Jehu pouts, wrapping his arms around the others' to keep him in place. "What if I don't want to? These probably won't last five minutes when they arrive."
Gold eyes rolled as their owner tried breaking free. "Doesn't matter! There's still stuff that has to get done." He was held captive, forced to endure lips dance across his neck. Jehu wanted to keep them right where they were.
Chuckling when he hears his favorite brunette gasp sharply in his ear. "Did you know they tried dyeing my hair this morning?" Haou laughed, his desire to pull away temporarily forgotten. He's heard quite a few tales of the Anderson's pranking wars and it never failed to amuse him.
"That doesn't surprise me other then the fact that they failed. What color?" Instead of giving a verbal response Jehu just plucked a strand of hair that was hidden behind his ear. Revealing a hot pink shade, Haou laughed again. Giving Jehu an easy opportunity to swipe a kiss.
Effectively distracting his boyfriend. They stay in their positions for a few minutes before Haou pulled back. His face red but showing determination. He had a job to do dammit! "That's enough. Back to work with you."
Jehu sighed, letting him go, though very reluctantly. "Yes babe. But the moment the party's over and everyone's in bed it's cuddle time with a movie." Haou had no issues with that, though he'd probably crash during it. "It's a date." Probably...

"Higher Jesse!" The boy swung with all his might, but it was another miss. "Nice try brat. Better luck next time." The younger twin undid his blindfold with a pout. "Jehu's cheating!" He most certainly was and he was relishing every second of it.
Each time a new challenger got into position Jehu would pull and twist the ropes holding the piñata. Expertly dodging blow after blow from their rainbow colored stick. The three brothers stuck their tongues out at one another.
Making some of the guests question who exactly was the older sibling. "What's the point of playing piñata strike if it just stood still? Gotta make it a bit challenging." Jesse handing his blindfold and weapon to Jaden.
A small blush forming on his face as their fingers brush. "I got this Jesse!" Haou smiled at the interaction, amused. Much to everyone's shock Jaden took the confession of the younger Anderson quite well, though he didn't really get it.
He was confused with the conversation, not really understanding that Jesse had a crush on him. The boy didn't even know what dating meant. But he still accepted the youngest Anderson's feelings without issue. An idiot, but one with a good heart. Haou could only wish Jesse the best of luck.
"Time to get my game on!" Alexis giggled as she spun the boy around three times, disorienting him slightly before holding him before the piñata. "Go Jaden!" Several of the twin's classmates were there, cheering him on.
Jehu narrowed his amber eyes playfully. "Bring it on you punk." Johan and Jesse stood next to the golden eyed teen, their attention on the showdown before them. Each challenger had three hits before their turn was over, Jaden had to make this count.
As this battle between the kids and Jehu had been ongoing for like fifteen minutes now. It had to end. "Hya!" He struck high. "Nope~" Jehu was grinning as his perfect record remained. This was too easy for him. "Rah!" Then Jaden struck low.
"Hey watch it!" Nearly smacking the teen's knee, which caused a few snickers to go around. "There!" Jaden arched his stick at an angle. The speed and force slicing up the paper mache body. "No!" He got it.
Jim handmade that for the twins and he had to admit it came out nicely. "Nice!" It was a mini skyscraper in reference to the hero signal card that Haou used to have. But because it was handmade, with no cardboard or thick layering, it made easy pickings for Jaden's attack.
He split that bad boy open. Candy flying everywhere. "Noooooo!" The children all dived in, their fingers eagerly grabbing the sweets. "He did it!" Yoko of course was recording the entire thing with a smirk. It was a free for all kind of day.
The sun shined brightly into the sky, warming up the somewhat chilly day. Making it a bit easier to endure being outside. "Alright, with that out of the way it's time for cake! Everyone head inside!" Like a herd of elephants the children ran to the front door, intimidating Yami who immediately ducked right back inside.
"Are we getting a Haou special?" A snort escaped the brunette as Alexis took his arm in hers. Escorting her friend and master chef into the house. The two completely ignoring a still devastated Jehu. "Indeed. Jennifer insisted on it." He didn't have too much time to prepare.
The woman as soon as he made his way into the kitchen put him to work(so much for her not needing his help) but he was satisfied with the results despite the limitations he had. He could only hope everyone liked it. "What'd you make?"
Together the pair stepped through the door, Zane in tow right behind them. Just in time to hear exclamations of awe and compliments flock from on all sides. Mrs. Motegi, the mother of one of Johan's friends Belowski, was especially amazed.
Clapping her hands in surprise. "Oh my goodness Jennifer! Where'd you get such a beautiful cake!?" It was a three tier design. The bottom layer was blue for Jesse, the middle layer green for Johan, and the final on top was painted in colors of the rainbow.
Each section comprised with characters the boys liked from the card game. Each made out of chocolate and rice cereal treats before being covered in fondant. A big number eight candle at the tippity top like a flag on a mountain already lit.
Haou had already nestled himself in the shadows of the room, completely content to watch the twins from a distance. "It was made by Haou. My eldest's boyfriend." The declaration for a split second caused the woman to grimace. But she quickly recovered, planting a convincing smile in its place.
"Is that so?" Haou could easily tell she wasn't too enthused anymore. Her son Belowski though was genuinely grinning as he looked at his friends. His usually tired eyes sparkling. "That's so cool! Do you think he can make one for my birthday?"
The children were blissfully naïve to Mrs. Motegi's shift in mood. "Haou's the best!" Johan scanned all around the room, running when he found the teen in the corner. "He makes all sorts of desserts. He even does a café at school!" Jehu walked in with a small laugh.
Watching the scene in amusement, unaware of Haou's apprehension. Belowski tugged his mother's skirt, silently asking her if they could arrange something. The boy's birthday was in a couple weeks, with the Andersons already invited. Mrs. Motegi's mouth twitched as she analyzed Haou from head to toe.
He did his best to hide his discomfort. "We'll have to see sweetie. We scheduled for one to be made by the bakery afterall." Her answer was reasonable and she was polite enough. But Haou knew for a fact that she was lying through her teeth.
Had Jennifer just called Haou Jehu's friend, the young mother would've happily made plans for a cake to be made. But...Haou supposed it was only a matter of time before he ran into someone who wasn't open with his preferences.
Now that he thought about it, the several parents of the twin's classmates were all having hushed conversations. Their expression guarded when anyone looked their way. The atmosphere was slowly growing worse as the brunette eagerly wished to stop being the center of attention.
Jehu took note of his rigged posture and was about to go to him. Only to freeze as Jaden's grandmother Yasmine gently takes Haou's hand. An understanding expression on her wrinkled features.
"Do you take orders by chance? My anniversary with my wife is coming up soon and I would love to see what you can do young man." Haou's eyes widen in surprise, absolutely speechless at her question. Unable to find the words he could only nod.
Jaden raised his fist in the air. "This is awesome! Grandma Tania is going to be stoked!" It was no wonder why the elementary schooler was practically unaffected with Jesse's confession. He didn't necessarily live in a typical household either.
Yasmine pulls out her phone, scrunching her eyebrows in confusion. "Jaden sweetie how do I use this thing again? I want this boys' number." With a groan her grandson stomps over, exasperated. "Grandma!"
Once more he goes through the process of teaching her how to use her new phone. "Here...you gotta press this." Leaving the group around the pair to laugh, easing the atmosphere's previous tension in one fell swoop.
To be continued
Author Notes: We got the twins, baking and another ship that randomly came to me that I now absolutely adore and am full in~ Tania who was in season 1(i do not ship her with bastion...) x Yasmine who I think appeared in season 3
