''Can I help you with something m'am?''

''In fact yes you can.'' She looks him up and down and narrows her eyes. Shisui's eyebrows raise in confusion. He shoots a questioning glance at Itachi who shrugs.

''You seem tired Shisui.'' She states

''Well lots of mission you know.'' He scratches his head.

''I actually seem to have cooked to much but it would be a waste to just throw it away so why don't you join us for dinner?''

''I-I don't want to impose!'' Shisui tries to argue.

Mikoto walks towards him and takes a hold of his arms. ''You won't.'' She then guides him into the house.

''Your arms feel a little thin.'' She states.

''They do?'' Shisui asks still lost with the situation.

''Do you eat enough?'' She questions him as they make their way towards the kitchen. Itachi following them.

''Yes...I mean on missions it is hard sometimes but I have food pills.''

There is a glint visible in Mikoto's eyes at that and Shisui swallows. Itachi catches it to. Shisui sends Itachi another look but Itachi shakes his head, amused. He guesses his mother protectiveness that has gone over Sasuke, Naruto and Itachi himself has now found its way to Shisui.

''You shouldn't depend too much on those.'' She scolds and then guides him towards the kitchen.

''But...'' Shisui tries one last time as he tries to get eye contact with Itachi. But Mikoto notices this and raises an eyebrow at her oldest. ''You don't rely too much on those food pills either, right Itachi?''

''Of course not mother.'' Itachi replies smoothly and Shisui gives him a betrayed look. '' I know the importance of a good meal. I think it is a great idea for Shisui to stay for dinner.''

His mother nods in agreement and pushes Shisui to a seat at the table. ''Then it is decided.''

''But...'' Shisui mutters as Itachi sits next to him. Sasuke takes the seat in front of Shisui. Naruto sits next to him and Mikoto sets the food on the table.

''Don't be difficult. In order to be strong you need a good meal. ''

''Yes you need to be strong an prepared.'' Sasuke tells Shisui and Shisui glares at him suspiciously.

''I am home.'' Fugaku calls out as he walks through the front door of his house.

He is not that surprised to see his family sitting at the table together. The last weeks they have been eating more often together. He also isn't surprised to see Naruto at the table. Sneaking his tomatoes to Sasuke's plate. The boy has come for dinner a lot. It seems he and Sasuke get along really well. Mikoto also always seems to brighten when the boy comes over. Itachi also seems to enjoy the company of the boy. He is surprised to see Shisui at the table but he muses that in the end it was just a matter of time before Mikoto's growing protectiveness targeted him. As he sees them happily chatting at the table he feels a warm feeling in his chest.

''Welcome home.'' They reply.

To Sakura fans. The next part of this story will have more Sakura.

The only thing planned was the I am home and welcome home bit. But this fanfic needed more Shisui. I also had another idea for another chapter but it felt to much like this one so I will show it under this note as an extra. I think the story is done for about 50/75%. It depends on how long the middle part is going to be because the end will be around 10 chapters. I am not that great at ending my stories so be warned. The next chapters will not be that long.

Fugaku looks up from the newspaper he is reading as he hears two pairs of footsteps running towards the kitchen.

''We are home!'' His youngest and his blond haired friend announce. They both look surprised to see him already home. But he was done early with his work today.

''Welcome home.'' His wife greets them.

They smile at her but then turn their gaze back at him. Sasuke pouts at him and Naruto looks nervous. He softens his expression and greets them.

''Welcome home.''

The boy's expression brightens and they look at each other with a smile.

No matter what the council, hokage or other clan heads might think, he wants these boys to be happy. They do owe Minato and Kushina for saving them all after all. If the hokage, council and clan heads don't like Naruto being here then that is just another thing to add on their list of things they dislike about the Uchiha.
