Hey everyone!

First of all this is LucyMaxine... that username change happened and now it matches all my social media and it reflects how my life and who I am as a person has changed. My old one was a random pick when I had to come up with a name for here and it's certainly not who I am as a person now. I did give some advanced warning. I should be heading back to work this month so this will certainly be an interesting month.

Stay safe.

Lots of love,

LSH xx

Breaking Traditions-Part 40:

Abraxas tore his eyes away from his baby granddaughter and looked at Lucius and Narcissa.

"Why is it being done that way? I thought Cygnus was going to be next in line…" he asked confused about what was going on.

"He was… but then he got called away on urgent business so has had to go and sort that out before he can meet Rosalie," Narcissa said, "it's rather a shame but this was unavoidable and could affect us all if he didn't go."

"Well that's understandable then," Priscilla said, "it's a shame indeed but it sounded important. I'm sure he'll be back soon. He's been dying to meet her as much as we have," she said.

"Some business deal is more important than meeting his granddaughter?" Abraxas asked, "no I'm sorry but that's just not on at all. Family before business… even I managed that somehow."

"It's actually to do with Druella in France," Lucius said, "hence Cissa's comment on it affects us all. Word will probably have got back to her that we have a daughter now and apparently, and according to Eira, she was going to try and get word to the press here about it so he's had to drop everything and go sort her out. We want to keep Rosa a secret for a while longer, that's why there's so few of you meeting her."

"Of course we would love Draco to be able to announce that he's a big brother but we want to be the ones to announce her and that will be when we are ready and when she's a little older," Narcissa said, "right now she's still a newborn baby and only been with us for two and a half weeks. We want more time with her alone and privately. Here is the safest place for her to be."

"So you'll take her to Hogwarts to meet Draco and I presume her godfather…?" Priscilla asked as she looked at the two.

"We explained things to Severus and he's working on something currently and says that he'd have to wait a little while longer before he meets Rosa but he will send word as soon as he is ready to meet her," Lucius said before he suddenly sniffed the air, "and someone's made a smell," he laughed, "great timing little love," he said before Narcissa looked at her mother-in-law.

"Do you want to come and help me change her?" she asked and Priscilla nodded as she carefully rose and headed over to the changing area with Narcissa, leaving the men alone.

"So Druella's had word?" Abraxas asked as soon as the women were out of earshot, "how?"

"We aren't even sure on that one but we know that she somehow knows that we have a child and Cygnus has gone to see what can be done about her before she reveals before we're ready to announce her," Lucius said, "luckily Eira's got sense and fire-called us to warn us so Cygnus took straight off to see if he can stop her. Even Astoria's parents and grandparents have said that they won't say a thing to anyone…"

"So you just have to stop Druella and then everything is good?"

"Indeed," Lucius nodded at his father.

"I can see a happiness in you that hasn't existed in a long time Lucius," Abraxas said, "I saw it the moment you brought your daughter home. I know you were happy with the way things were but you also had something missing and I can now see how that's changed. It's like you're whole again… like Narcissa is whole again and the family is complete."

Lucius smiled softly and chuckled before he sat down properly on the sofa and smiled.

Priscilla smiled as she began to change Rosalie.

"I can do it. I hardly expect you to change her nappy already…" Narcissa said as she bit her lip.

"Nonsense Cissa. Now I've met her I want to help in any way that I can and that includes this part of being a grandmother," Priscilla said, "now pass me over the things."

Narcissa sighed and knew that she wasn't going to win so she just began to pass everything over that Priscilla would need to change Rosa. She hadn't expected the aging witch to want to help out but here she was and that brought a smile to Narcissa's face. She and Lucius weren't alone any more with caring and nursing Rosa and they would do most things but it would be nice to have some help here and there.

"So when are you thinking of announcing her?" Priscilla asked, dragging Narcissa from her thoughts.

"We want to try and wait until she's at least a month… maybe two and then we'll see where we're at. No age is really right to announce her but we don't want her to be a newborn like she is now. That's not fair on her at all," Narcissa said, "we also want to make sure that everyone who is meeting her privately gets the chance before we do announce her and that looks like it will be Severus so it will be at least another month before he's able to meet her."

"What is he working on?" Priscilla asked.

"We aren't sure but it's something he doesn't want to risk Rosa near so we just have to wait but that's fine as she'll be a little bigger by then and more alert," Narcissa said as she watched her mother-in-law swiftly changing Rosa, "that would be best for her. I suspect we'll be making frequent trips to Hogwarts anyway so Draco can see her. We're discussing the possibility of Draco coming home for the weekend as well."

"Dumbledore may well let you. Chances are he'll meet her as well as I assume you'll be in his office when Draco meets her…" Priscilla said.

"Yes and Phineas will be as well but we aren't too worried about that so that will be fine," Narcissa said as Priscilla finished changing Rosalie and smiled as she picked her up.

"There we go. One baby all clean," she said before the men stood up and they headed downstairs to the sunroom to enjoy time with Rosalie and all take turns holding the baby, happiness and light filling the Manor once more.
