Faced with a wrecked and disgraced temple, the Xiaolin Dragons set to work. Guan's statues of himself were promptly and gleefully melted down to be upcycled into Jack's new army of Jackbots, who did most of the grunt work for reconstruction. Finally, months after the cosmic timeline continuum pile-up, the Wudai Warriors had rebuilt the Xiaolin temple to its former glory. With the five primarily in charge of redecorating, Jack insisted on acquiring a couch, bean bag chairs, and a television. Tragically, the monks had rescued the real Master Fung from the Ying Yang World as soon as the Heylin side was off their property, and the temple elder had rewarded the rescue by vetoing the television idea immediately.

So instead, one night after Master Fung had gone to bed, the five monks crowded around Kimiko's laptop, upon which played the DVD release of Atlantic Edge. Omi perched closest to the screen, and Clay sat behind him with Kimiko cuddled up to his side. Watching a kaiju charge at a giant robot, the cowboy shook his head and muttered, "Nah, see, even if ya ignored how somethin' that big couldn't move at all, there ain't no way it's gonna run that fast. The physics would crush its bones."

Against the tiny room's back wall, Jack said, "Who are you to talk about the laws of physics, Mr. I-Shatter-Mountains-With-My-Bare-Hands?"

Brushing a stray bit of dust off his black Shoku leader robes, Clay shrugged and said, "Just tryin' to keep Omi from gettin' nervous."

Omi, who indeed looked quite unnerved at the immense size of the monsters onscreen, cleared his throat and crossed his arms. "I am certain that I would easily defeat these kaiju, and I would not need something as inefficient as a giant robot to do so."

Jack opened his mouth to explain in detail the absolute flawlessness of giant robots, but a soft chuckle to his left gave him pause. He glanced over at Raimundo, who no longer bore the dark circles under his eyes. He looked more comfortable and happy than Jack had ever seen him. With a casual smile, he rested an elbow on Jack's shoulder.

Jack's heart did a dumb, giddy little lurch, but he tried to play it cool and whispered, "What?"

Raimundo flinched a bit and almost removed his elbow, but instead he ducked his head and said, "Nothing. I just..." He cleared his throat and scooted a bit closer. Cheeks pink, he kept his eyes on the computer screen. "I'm glad you're back, and that you're normal again. I missed you."

"Aww," said Jack, giving him a sappy grin, "you didn't like the goody-two-shoes Jack showering you with affection?"

Raimundo shrugged. "I mean, that wasn't the real you, not really."

Jack frowned. His memories were fuzzy from when his chi had been split, but he could still remember the raw, carefree giddiness in his heart. Ignorance had indeed been bliss, but now that he was back in one piece, he could honestly say that he didn't miss it. "It kinda was," he said. "I wasn't a different person; I was half a person." He glanced over at Raimundo again, who was still blushing and avoiding eye contact. Jack's mouth curved back up, and his hand crept behind Raimundo's back to pull him into a side hug. "So, y'know, when I was gushing about how you were my favorite person in the whole wide world, well... Good people don't lie, do they?"

"Get a room," muttered Omi, who pointedly kept his back turned to them both. Kimiko snorted, but she and Clay kept their gazes on the laptop.

Raimundo shifted his gaze to Jack, and flashes from the computer screen sparkled in the green in his eyes. His mouth was curved into an oddly shy smile. Honestly, Jack had always pictured this moment differently- specifically, occurring right after he had done something especially brilliant and heroic, with fireworks and explosions in the background, and the person of his affections swooning in his arms. Oh well, robots and monsters fighting on a nearby screen would have to be close enough.

Jack leaned in, but Raimundo was faster. Jack felt warm fingers in his hair, pulling him closer as Raimundo closed the distance between them and pressed his lips to Jack's. The moment was brief, and judging by the lack of a reaction from the rest of the room, no one noticed. When Raimundo pulled away, neither teen could stop goofy grins from spreading across their faces.

Author's notes:

So concludes my final Xiaolin Showdown fanfic! I hope you guys enjoyed the ride! I joined the fandom way back in 2013, and ever since, I had three big projects in mind: a sequel fic to Xiaolin Showdown, a fix-it story to Xiaolin Chronicles, and a "what-if" prequel to Time After Time's parallel universe. This was the third project; thank you for sticking with me for the four years!

Chiswap Chronicles was always going to have a bittersweet, open-ended conclusion with Master Monk Chase, whose fate was intentionally left up in the air. However, for those who want the Team Dad to get his happy ending, I suggest you check out the ask blog I did on Tumblr a few years back called "ask-heylin-omi." My artistic skills were novice at best, but I had a lot of fun with it, so you might like it, too!
