"Why are you in AA when you have a bottle of premium fucking scotch on your nightstand?"

And why are you a fucking sponsor if you drink?

"Oh, baby." he inhales deeply and lets smoke furl around the room as he exhales. "You better take that break if you plan on asking the hard questions first." Even cocky as hell, he's irresistible. I have to drag my eyes away from him, from his tattoos — his chest, his ass.

"Can't, I have to go back to work."

"Come back when you're done." I contemplate it, but remember I have to be back here at five-thirty tomorrow.

"I get off in an hour," I announce, watching the clock. It's ten-thirty now.

He gins maliciously, devilish as he takes another drag.

"She's got stamina." He jokes.

"Why are you so dirty?" I narrow my eyes at his continued innuendos.

"If you know what I'm talking about, you're just as dirty, baby." The last word tumbles from his lips like liquid sex. I bite my lip and snatch that cigarette he offered me. My fingers reach for my lighter in my pant pocket, but he's beating me to it and stands beside me, flicking his Zippo.

I don't break eye-contact as he lights me up and I take a deep drag.

"Who's dirty now?" He asks, pocketing the shiny lighter, picking up a mug of black coffee from the table as he stares at me.

"What did I do?" I feign innocence, blowing out smoke in the window's direction.

"Look at me like that, those gigantic eyes of yours ready to suck my soul or something." I snort.

"Seems like I have to suck out every bit of information out of you, anyway." I shrug and get closer to the window, enjoying the crisp air lashing at my face. I feel my lashes flutter in the wind and the stubborn blush on my cheeks vanish.

"By all means, do try." Masen's green eyes dance and twinkle — dazzle me.

"See you in an hour, then. I'm having lunch first though." I announce, hearing the sizzle when my cigarette end meets liquid in the soda can.

I see him eye a duffel bag that's shoved under the bed; the straps sticking out. He's contemplating something, thinking about something.

"See you then, Doe."
