"Yeah I was and mom threatened to bind my powers if she caught me doing something like that again. Next time I was supposed to bring Chris and/or Wyatt with me or preferably not get involved with demons at all. But I didn't let that threat stop me from trying again. I didn't ask Chris or Wyatt to go with me as I knew even then they didn't want me tagging along or babysitting me. Mom was at Halliwell's or was it P3 I forget. Then thankfully something came up at magic school that dad had to take care of, I'd have had to wait if he hadn't left. He promised it'd only take a couple of hours. Wyatt being 11 asked to be in charge but dad refused at first and called grandpa. However grandpa didn't answer and with our Aunts having their own family dad didn't want to ask. So he reluctantly agreed but we weren't allowed to leave the house and if any demons showed up Wyatt was supposed to take us both to magic school. Wyatt agreed and dad left. Well Wyatt and Chris started playing video games, ignoring me as usual. So I snuck upstairs and found a spell in the book to summon a super low level demon. I was afraid to try for anything bigger till I had more experience. I made the vanquishing potion and since unlike Chris and Wyatt I was not born with whitelighter powers I had to go by bike. I didn't know your powers had been bound but I didn't call you since I guessed mom probably told Aunt Phoebe what happened. If I called and asked you to take me I knew you'd have to ask permission first and even if you lied and said we were just going to the library Aunt Phoebe would still say no. She would suspect what I really wanted to do and even if she didn't I figured she wouldn't let you as you were grounded."

"I don't think mom would have believed the library story. Magic school library, maybe. But coming from you within a week of getting grounded for going after a demon I doubt she'd believe any story. So what happened?"

"I didn't want to summon it in the house. If I screwed up and it wreaked anything, mom would have killed me. Then she would definitely follow through with her threat and bound my powers for a month or more. So I biked down to an old grocery store a few blocks away that was out of business and summoned him there. In the end my potion failed for some reason I guess I missed an ingredient or something. I had to call my brother's to help, they came and destroyed the demon. Chris yelled at me that I could have been killed. Then Wyatt yelled at me saying that he and Chris could have ended up in trouble because of this. I begged them not to tell mom and dad. They agreed on one condition, I become their slave for the rest of the time I was grounded. I had to do all their chores and if someone asked Chris or Wyatt to get something I had to do it. However if I didn't or I did it again while grounded they would tell our parents even if it meant they'd get into trouble too. I didn't like it but I didn't have a choice. If they told they probably would have gotten off with just no dessert for a week. While I lost my powers and extended grounding."

"Didn't Aunt Piper and Uncle Leo find it strange that you were doing all this?"

"Yeah, when asked why I was doing their chores I lied and said they promised to teach me how to fight and lessons in making sure your potions are right if I agreed to do their chores till I was no longer grounded."

"I'm surprised Aunt Piper believed it or allowed it."

"I think she did suspect something. But since we were all in one piece she didn't question it further. I was surprised but I didn't argue. Plus she was satisfied I wasn't going to do it alone again. That Chris and Wyatt were going to be there. Surprisingly enough they did that stuff anyway. Even when I stopped doing their chores they continued to teach me. Say do you still have that practice ring?"

"Yeah I keep it as a reminder of my failure. Why?"

"We're going to try it out. I believe in you, You can do this! You have to do this for Chris and for Wyatt! Prove to yourself you can do this. Then when this is over you can show those people you are ready to be a full fledged Cupid or at least one in training."

P.J. wasn't so sure but she didn't want to let her cousins down. She wasn't sure if the practice ring would really work but she wanted to try.

They beamed into the attic and started flipping through the book and Melinda was disappointed. "I can't believe there's not one spell to find love other than the one about Aunt Paige's former life as an evil queen."

"I didn't think there was but I couldn't know for sure. Besides I think if there was one Cupid's wouldn't exist and mom would have already used it by now. But write the spell down anyway."

"What? Why?"

"If all else fails we'll look at what is needed to work and rewrite it."

"So what do we do now?"

"We go to Richard and talk to him. Then if he has any ideas on how to help you stay there and go over it together. I meanwhile will try to find Greg's true love and hope I can convince him to fall for her.'

"No, we'll do this together, like always!"

P.J. shook her head, "No it's not like demon hunting. You would only be standing there staring at two people walking by and hopefully turn and start talking. You wouldn't see me and to you time has passed quickly to me it'd feel like hours. I can't take you. It's not possible or if it is I don't know how. I know dad said he took mom to meet prospective guys to possibly fall for when they met but he never explained how you do that."

"Wait I've never heard this story."

P.J. was surprised, "Really? It's a story that's been told to us since we were little. It's been told so much that we can all three recite it by heart."

"I wonder why mom never told us the story."

"More like didn't tell you. Chris and Wyatt already know it."

"How could they know it?"

P.J. laughed, "From what I've been told Chris and Wyatt were demon hunting when Wyatt lost his powers. They did a spell to take them to when they were lost. Guessing by the time period we're in, it'll be a few years from now. Basically dad came in to talk to mom about something and Wyatt opened his big mouth and called him Uncle."

"What's wrong with that?"

"Both mom and dad assumed dad was only there to try to help mom find love. Love between witches and whitelighters or any other beings like a Cupid was forbidden."

"Wait, I remember mom always telling us how hard she had to fight to be with dad. The ups and downs. The fighting with the Elders."

"Yeah I don't really know what all these struggles mom went through as she refuses to discuss it but apparently the Elders gifted dad to mom."

"That doesn't sound like them."

"I know right. But they had hoped that mom would fall for dad."

"So wait how did Wyatt lose his powers? They never told me any of this."

"Mom refused to go into detail only that they made a mistake in helping a young woman who learned she was a witch. She lived with them for months while looking for her sister who was kidnapped years earlier. However, soon after finding said sister, she and the sister turned on them and stole Wyatt's powers."

"That awful woman. After I'm sure mom had made her feel at home. More than she has us."

"Yeah but what's worse is apparently some stupid Angel of Destiny didn't believe mom, Aunt Piper, or Aunt Paige would fight her so she kidnapped Uncle Leo to force it."

"What! That's terrible! Of course they would have fought her!"

"Yeah, I don't get it either."

"It's not fair. Why is Aunt Phoebe happy to tell you and your sisters all these interesting stories of the past while mom and dad rarely talk about anything in the past. I only vaguely remember being told about Chris being here in the past because he was starting to remember and they told us."

"Don't know. You could try asking."

"Yeah I guess. Doubt they'd tell me much. It's late and I'm tired, let's go home, you can tell me how Wy got his powers back and what became of that awful woman. Then if we feel up to it, hit more books before heading to bed. Then tomorrow we can try to talk to Richard."

"Okay, sounds good." P.J. said beaming them to the room that was currently Paige's but eventually will be Melinda's bedroom.
