A/N Hey, guys. Welcome back to more of the You Can Come to Me series that focuses on Peter and MJ. First of all, I hope you guys are doing well, staying healthy, staying safe out there during this difficult time. Second, I want to thank you guys for being patient with me since I'm busy with school. Third, I've also been busy with my other stories like Riverdale and Degrassi. And fourth, this forty-second chapter will focus on Peter and MJ going on a road trip with Ned and Betty. So sit back, and let's get to it, shall we?

Chapter 42: Road Trip With Ned and Betty
In year of 2024, the people of New York go on with their day. Peter Parker is one of those New York residents who had stopped crimes as Spider-Man every day.
One day, Peter was hanging out at his apartment all by himself since his aunt left this morning to go to work. As the song Vacation by The Go-Go's play on the speakers in the background, Peter had wished that he would take time off from crime fighting and go somewhere with his girlfriend MJ and his close friends Ned and Betty.
Then, he suddenly comes up with an idea that he had never thought of before.
'I'm definitely considering on doing a road trip. I really do need some time off from crime fighting for a while. Time to call the others,' he thought.
Peter grabbed his phone from his bedside table and called MJ first.
"Hey Peter," she said as she answered.
"Hey. So I'm thinking about taking some time off from crime fighting for a while. And I have this idea of going on a road trip. You want to go?" he said.
"Road trip? What destinations you have in mind?" she asked.
"We can go anywhere. We can ask Ned and Betty to go with us," he replied.
"Okay. I have nothing to do anyway. But I have to start packing some supplies," said MJ.
"Awesome. I'll call Ned and Betty and let them know we're going on a road trip," said Peter.
"I'll see you later," she said as she hung up.
Peter then scrolls on his contact list and called Ned. After two rings, Ned picks up.
"Hey Peter," said Ned as he answered the phone call.
"Hey, dude. I just had an idea. Want to go on a road trip?" said Peter.
"Road trip? Am I hearing this right? You had this idea to go on a road trip?" asked Ned.
"Yes, Ned. You heard it right. I'm planning a road trip," Peter replied.
"Dude, I'm in. I really need to get out more," said Ned.
"Awesome. I already called MJ and she's packing some supplies for us. I'll come pick you up after I pick her up," said Peter.
"See you later dude," said Ned as he hung up.
After Ned hangs up, Peter scrolls down to look for Betty on contact list before he dialed her phone number.
"Hey Peter," she said as she answered after three rings.
"Hey, Betty. You want to go on a road trip with me, MJ, and Ned?" he asked.
"Oh my gosh, yes. I need to get out of my house for once," she replied.
"Awesome. I'll come by after I get MJ and Ned," he said.
"Later Peter," said Betty as she hung up.
He then started packing and stashing his clothes in his luggage since he and his friends won't be back in New York for a couple of days.
Peter looks through his phone as he tries to find the songs to add to his road trip playlist. And after five minutes of trying to find good songs for the road trip playlist, Peter adds the songs he picked to the playlist.
Feeling happy and satisfied on picking the songs for the road trip, he grabs the car keys before he left the apartment complex and hopped in the car as he puts the keys in the ignition and turned on the car.
He puts on his EDITH glasses as he pulled out of the driveway and drove to pick up MJ from her apartment. While he was driving, he glanced at the sun in the sky, admiring it for a bit before he focused on paying attention to the road.
Fifteen minutes later, Peter pulls up to MJ's apartment as he put the car to a stop and he brought out his phone and texted MJ.
Pete - Hey, I'm outside.
MJ - I'm on my way down. But I'm gonna need help with the supplies.
A few minutes later, she comes out of her apartment holding the supplies, containing food and water as Peter comes out of the car and opened the trunk as he helped her put the supplies in the trunk as they closed it together.
Peter opens the passenger door as MJ got in and he helped her close the door before he got back in the driver's seat and he kissed her as he pulled out of the driveway.
Half an hour later, they arrive outside of Ned's house and Peter honked the horn as they watched him coming out of his house and he hopped in the backseat. Peter looked around his surroundings as he pulled out and drove away.
Five minutes later, the three friends outside of Betty's residence and they watch her run to the car as she opened the door and hopped in the backseat.
"Hey babe," Ned and Betty said at the same time before they kissed each other.
"Is everybody ready?" asked Peter.
"We all are," Betty replied.
"All right. Here we go," Peter announced as he pulled out of Betty's residence.
He then puts on the song Castle on the Hill by Ed Sheeran as MJ, Ned, and Betty danced and sang the song while Peter drove down the road.
"Peter, you have an incoming call from May. Would you like to answer?" EDITH informed.
"Answer it please," said Peter.
"Peter? Where did you go?" asked May.
"I'm on a road trip with MJ, Ned, and Betty right now. We're going to the North Carolina states. I'm sorry if I forgot to tell you before I left our apartment," he replied.
"How long will you guys be in the North Carolina states?" asked May.
"Just a couple of days. I'll call you when we come back," Peter replied.
"Okay. Drive safe. And tell MJ, Ned, and Betty I said hi to them," said May.
"I will. Bye May. Love you," said Peter as he hung up.
As a couple of hours passed, the group had been stopping to get gas since it was gonna be a long drive to the North Carolina states. Ned and Betty would also fall asleep due to waking up early in the morning.
In the third hour, the group decided to stop by a motel in the Maryland states. Each of them took turns in taking a shower before they laid in the motel bed.
"I'm having a good time so far," said Betty.
"Agreed. But we still have a few hours to get to the North Carolina states," said MJ.
"Let's go to sleep. We'll have more time to stay awake when we wake up in the morning," said Peter.
"But not get exhausted when we try to stay awake," said Ned.
The next morning, the group wakes up, checked out of the motel, got in the car, and continued their road trip to the North Carolina states. They then sang to the song Circles by Post Malone as it played on Peter's phone.
In the tenth hour, they finally arrived at the North Carolina states and they make a stop to Charlotte, North Carolina where they find out it's the city where Charlotte Hornets play their home basketball games.
They drove around the town as they admired how amazing it is before Ned and Betty took pictures to share their road trip experiences.
The group then decided to stay at a motel to end their long road trip from New York to the North Carolina since they have to return to Queens in the next few hours.
"Let's get some sleep. Because tomorrow we have to wake up early, check out, and drive back to Queens. And it's gonna be a few hours of drive," Peter announced.
"Good night Peter," Ned and Betty said at the same time.
"Good night guys," said Peter as he walked to the bed and laid down beside MJ.
"Thanks for the road trip today, Peter. I had a good time," said MJ.
"You're welcome, MJ. We should do this more often," he said.
"Yes, we should. Good night," she said.
"Good night MJ," he replied as he closed his eyes and went to sleep.
And that is the end of the forty-second chapter. So what do you guys think so far? I'm sorry if I took so long to write this because I had to think of where Peter, MJ, Ned, and Betty would go for their road trip. And I chose the songs Castle on the Hill by Ed Sheeran and Circles by Post Malone since I thought it was a good song choice for road trips.
