Chapter 42
Last time, Yang and Blake went up against Gym Leader Adrian in a tag-team battle with a large crowd watching them in the gym. First, Blake and Yang used a Stunfisk and a Tentacool that Yang named, Jellydude. They managed to pull a surprise tactic that involves using poison and paralyzing effects. Then they swap them out with a Tubjaw and a Folerog Yang named, Frogstera. Both of them managed to defeat Adrian's Chatot and Ultima Corsola and not only won the admiration of the audience, but also the Palm Badge and TM02: Whirlpool. But the real reason there is a crowd is a very special someone from the Kanto Region has come to challenge the gym and has already won eight badges. This person, is Red. Now a real fight begins.

The crowd cheers for a HUGE match between Red and Adrian is about to begin and unable to contain their excitement.
Yang says as she bounces from her seat, "This should be good!" She is excited to see what this match has in store.
Ruby is just as excited, "Me too!"
Blake and Weiss watch very carefully as the match starts to see what is gonna happen and take notes.
On the field, Adrian has one of his Pokeballs out and shows it to Red, "Are you ready for this!"
Red is eager as he pulls out an ultra ball, "Yeah! Let's do this!"
With that, the match beings!
Adrian tosses his Pokeball, "Go Palossand!"
Palossand pops out and is ready for battle as it stands four feet tall.
Red throws his ultra ball, "Go, Articuno!"
Articuno pops out and is ready for battle as sparkles glitter around it.
"What are those!?" Ruby shout in surprise.
Blake pulls out the Megadex and learn of Palossand and Articuno.
Weiss is in total awe by Articuno, "I want one."
Adrian orders, "Palossand, use stone edge!"
Palossand's body becomes surrounded in white energy. The energy then comes off of Palossand's body and forms into two rings of white pointed energy orbs that orbit around its body. The white light then fades around the orbs and they form into multiple gray rocks. Then the gray rocks fly towards Articuno.
Red orders, "Dodge and use hurricane!"
Articuno moves at super fast speeds as it dodges every single rock coming at it while also leaving after images of itself as if it is using quick attack. Then it has its wings glow sky blue and flaps them, releasing a powerful gust of wind. Some of the rocks get caught by the strong wind and gets scattered about, causing massive impacts on the battlefield. Some of the audience flinch when the rocks come towards them, but a green hexagonal-pattern force shield protected them from the scattering rocks. Yet it did cause some damage to the arena. Dust covers the battlefield as Articuno blows the dust away with its wings. Once the dust is cleared, Palossand is gone.
"What the-?!" Red went. He is surprised that Palossand disappeared.
Articuno look around and cannot find Palossand.
"What happened?!" Yang asks. "That giant sand castle just vanished!"
"It's a ghost-type as well." Blake says.
Ruby goes, "Wait. A sand castle, also a ghost...vanished... Uh-oh!"
Palossand emerges from one of the craters by disguising as debris.
Adrian orders, "Now use shadow ball!"
Palossand is about to unleash a shadow ball from its mouth, but Articuno manages to dodge and get behind Palossand.
Red orders, "Use freeze-dry!"
Articuno's wings glow light blue and unleashes a gust of freezing air that form ice in certain parts of Palossand's body. The upper left part of its left tower is frozen along with the shovel on its head, and the top part of its right tower.
"Use steel wing!"
In a flash, Articuno uses steel wing and smash the ice on Palossand's head and cause it to lose its shovel. Palossand touches its head and realizes its shovel is gone. It panically looks around to find its shovel but ended up getting slice in half by another steel wing attack. Palossand reduce itself into a pile of sand, slither its way to its shovel in the crater and returns back to its form.
Adrian orders, "Palossand, use sandstorm!"
Palossand is surrounded by a twister of sand that later expanded into the arena with the shields protecting the audience.
Red orders, "Use hurricane one more time!"
Articuno uses hurricane that cause the sand and wind to collide that created light blue electricity before the two forces explode. Everyone in the audience got startled by the explosion. Yet at the end, Palossand is returned to its Pokeball as the monitor shows that Palossand's HP has reached zero. Red has Articuno returned and pulls out another ultra ball.
Adrian throws his next ball, "Go, Conductot!"
Out from Adrian's Pokeball is something similar to a Chatot, but is bigger, the feather at the top is wavy, has a head looking more like a hawk than a parrot, has pink eye...um...I don't exactly know what that part is supposed to be so moving on. Has a kept down feathery mane of pink and blue feathers, have the main body being green, and yellow wings with green spots on them.
Conductot. The chattering Pokemon. Psychic and flying-type. Its beautiful singing voice can calm down quick-tempered Pokémon and put an end to most conflicts.
AN: This Pokemon is from Pokemon Vega. If you want to know what it looks like, check out the Pokemon Vega wiki and you might tell me what do you call those eye parts. I would've gone to eyelashes, but they aren't.
Then Red throws his ultra ball, "Go, Mewtwo!"
Mewtwo comes out and is ready for battle. Everyone cheers as they get to see the new species of Pokemon caught during his first journey.
"Look, mama!" a boy points at the Pokemon, "It's Mewtwo!"
One man jumps, "Waaahoo! I never thought I get to see that Pokemon!"
One teenage girl asks her friend, "Isn't this great!?"
"Yeah! Totally worth skipping my date for this!"
Yet one teenage boy next to her says, "I'm right here!"
Team RWBY check their Megadexes and learn more about Mewtwo and are surprised by the stats.
"So that's a Mewtwo." Blake lowers her Megadex, "Blue mentioned that Pokemon in his story."
"Looks creepy if you ask me." Ruby doesn't like Mewtwo, "I prefer Mew over that thing."
"Ditto." Weiss says.
Ruby looks at Weiss, "That thing would be cute if it does something about its face."
"That's not what I- Ugh. Nevermind."
Yang giggles at the two right before the match resumes.
Adrian orders, "Conductot, use ominous wind!"
Conductot flaps its wings to unleash purple wind at Mewtwo.
"Use barrier!"
Mewtwo uses barrier to repel the ghost-type move and scatter the strong, ghostly winds around.
Then Red orders, "Use thunder punch!"
Mewtwo disappears one second and reappears behind Chonductot and uses thunder punch on Conductot's head. Conductot's HP reaches zero and returns to its Pokeball.
"Dang that thing's strong." Adrian pulls out another Pokeball, "That Pokemon is as powerful as the stories." He throws it, "Go, Marowak!"
An Alolan Marowak pops out and is ready for battle as it twirls its bone and set it on fire. And the battle continues.
"Marowak, use shadow bone!"
Marowak spins its bone, with a purple flame gathering around one of the ends and a blue aura briefly flashing inside the center. It then stops spinning and throws it at Mewtwo.
"Mewtwo, use psychic!"
Mewtwo uses psychic on the incoming, flaming bone and stops it.
"It can do that!?" Adrian is shock to see Alolan Marowak's bone now being used against it.
The flaming bone is thrown right back at Alolan Marowak. Alolan Marowak tries to catch it, but it flew left and hits it on the head. The bone burst purple and blue flames once it makes contact. The monitor shows that Marowak's health is at forty-five percent. Alolan Marowak gets back up and grabs its bone and prepares for another strike at Mewtwo. The crowd cheers for Alolan Marowak's determination and willing to go on as Alolan Marowak points its bone at Mewtwo to tell it to bring it on.
Adrian orders, "Marowak, use fling!"
Alolan Marowak throws its bone at Mewtwo.
"Use psychic!"
Mewtwo uses psychic on the bone again, but Alolan Marowak grabs the bone and is effected by psychic. However, Mewtwo gets surrounded by a circle of dark aura and its psychic attack stopped. Then Marowak uses fling again and hit Mewtwo with Mewtwo's HP now in the yellow from a super-effective move. Marowak then moves in with a swing of its bone, but Mewtwo able to use barrier.
"Thunder punch!"
"Use shadow bone!"
Marowak throws its fiery bone again as Mewtwo moves super fast and smacks Marowak on the head before the shadow bone came back and it its back. Both Pokemon now have their HP in the red.
"Mewtwo, use recover!"
Mewtwo uses recover as its HP bar goes up to eighty-one percent. Removing a small burn mark from its back.
"Use thunder punch again!"
"Use fling one more time!"
Marowak throws its bone as Mewtwo charges in for a thunder punch. Mewtwo deflected the attack and made a direct hit on Alolan Marowak! Causing Alolan Marowak to return back to its Pokeball. The crowd cheers as Red now has two victories. Red returns Mewtwo to its ultra ball and pulls out a great ball.
Red throws it, "Go, Alakazam!"
Red's Alakazam pops out and is ready for battle.
Adrian throws his Pokeball, "Go, Pajay!"
A Pokemon pops out that resembles a large bird Pokémon resembling a cross between a parrot and a bird of prey. It has a red-feathered body with green feathers on its wings, a white beak and facial mask and long, multicolored plumes on its head and tail. Its wings are constantly trailing fire, and it has two fire streamers that trail behind it as it flies. This is a Pajay.
Pajay. The phoenix Pokemon and the evolved form of Palij and the final form of Pahar. Every year, massive flocks of Pahar and Palij migrate from Tandor to the Orange Islands. A PAJAY leads each one.
AN: This Pokemon is from Pokemon Uranium.
And the match continues.
"Alakazam, use future sight!"
Alakazam's eyes glow blue. Creating five wormholes then blasts of electrified psychic energy through the wormholes and in between the wormholes.
"Pajay, use aerial ace!"
Pajay flies at great speeds with white streaks surrounding its body. Pajay flies towards Alakazam, but...
"Use psycho cut!"
Alakazam's spoons glow pink and unleashes pink crescent-like blade of energy right at the charging Pajay. The result is an explosion. Pajay is up in the air and is covered in a few bruises.
"Use lava plume!"
Pajay creates a mix of smog and fire around itself and flies towards the dust and unleashes a blast of fire to clear the smoke and does damage to Alakazam. However, Alakazam is gone.
"What the-?!"
"Alakazam, use thunder wave!"
Alakazam suddenly appears behind Pajay and unleashes waves of electricity from its spoons and unleashes it on Pajay. Causing Pajay to be paralyzed.
"Now use psycho cut!"
Alakazam uses psycho cut and defeats Pajay with one hit and Pajay is returned its Pokeball once its HP reached zero.
Adrian uses his next Pokeball, "It ain't over yet! Go, Paradiso!"
The next Pokemon that pops out is a large Pokémon that looks like Lapras design-wise. Its main body is light blue and white, with a white tail, four pale blue fin-like legs, two white eyes with yellow irises and pinprick black pupils, two light blue horns, a white frontal part of its face, and its back has yellow sand with pink and white flowers and a palm tree in the middle.
Paradiso. The paradise pokemon and the evolved form of Parasea. Water and grass-type. There are stories of shipwreck survivors mistaking Paradiso for an island, only to wake up on the shores as the island they were on has disappeared.
AN: This Pokemon is from Pokemon Solar Light & Lunar Dark. And no, it is not related to Pokemon Sun & Moon.
"I want one." Yang really wants a Paradiso. "A living island all to myself."
Blake states, "I don't think you would last long on something that small."
The Pokemon is exactly the same size as a Lapras if you don't include the tree.
"But it would be good for surfing." Yang defends her side of the argument, "And you can be on the palm tree while surfing."
Weiss thinks about something, "I wonder if that tree on its back is where the design of the Palm Badge come from."
Ruby looks at Paradiso's palm tree, "Oh yeah. It kinda does."
Back on the battlefield, Red doesn't return Alakazam to its Pokeball. The next is about to begin, but who will be the winner of this match. Would it be Red with his winning streak and surprise advantages? Or will Adrian finally get a win with whatever he has in mind for Paradiso? Tune in next time for the conclusion.
