Chapter 43

After his talk to Janet Jack went straight to the police station to start his shift. As he came in Margo saw the anger and frustration written all over her friend's face;" Either you had a fight with Carly or with Janet?"

"I just came from trying to talk some sense into Janet. But it was without any luck and that is so damn frustrating." answered Jack with a sigh;" I wanted to make things right for Carly. To show her that I'm serious about getting back together with her again and for good this time."

"Is carly still having doubts?" asked his friend surprised;" Did she tell you that, Jack?"

"She made that pretty sure last night." replied he and told her what had happened the night before;" Carly is just scared that even if we do end up back together again that something will happen to break us up again as it always does."

"I can't say that I blame Carly for thinking that." said Margo;" Your relationship with Carly has been kind of a rocky road along the years. You guys have been on and off so many times that I can see why she would have doubts about a happily ever after."

"But it's not going to be like that again, Margo. Why is everybody doubting that?" answered her friend annoyed;" It's going to be forever this time!"

"Maybe because you have said that before, Jack. Many, many times before." laughed she, but stopped laughing when she saw the angry look on his face;" I'm sorry, but you have said it many times before and look where you two are right now. You can't really blame Carly or anybody else for not believing you at your word that this time nothing will happen to break you guys up."

"I know that I have made mistakes and so has Carly. You don't have to remind me of that, but we have both learned from them and we can make it work this time around!" sighed Jack;" I want it to be forever this time around. I want to go home to Carly and my kids and never leave them again! I want to be able to call her my wife again! I want to be her G-man again and be there for her and our kids whenever they need me! No matter how much I have tried to fight these feelings that I have for her I just can't and neither can she! We belong together!"

"Then do whatever it takes to make that happen!" replied his friend;" Divorce Janet and show Carly that you are serious about you guys again! Go back to her and your kids! Words are easier then actions, Jack! Show your family that you are willing to do whatever it takes to be with them again and show them that you're never going to leave them again!"

"That's what I have been trying to do. But it isn't easy since Janet is refusing to give me a divorce and with Carly doubting my every word damn it!" scolded he frustrated;" All I want is for Janet to give me a divorce and for Carly to take me back as her G-man so that I can spend the rest of my life with her and our kids."

"Tom will help you with the divorce. You know he will!" answered Margo before walking away;" The rest is up to you and remember : actions speak louder than words."

J.J. was sitting in his room, talking to Parker, when Sage walked in;" We need to do something to help mom and dad."

"Don't you know how to knock?" asked Parker annoyed;" And didn't I already tell you to stay out of mom and dad's business?"

"I don't have to listen to you!" answered his little sister with an angry look;" Mom and dad belong together, Parker."

"Dad is married to Janet." replied he;" Stay out of their business, Sage!"

"Leave her alone, Parker! Don't be so hard on her!" warned J.J. him and stopped Sage as she was about to storm out of his room;" Wait a second, Sage. Parker didn't mean that the way that it sounded."

"Yes, he did." replied his sister nearly in tears;" He always being mean, J.J."

"No, he didn't." answered he, pulling her onto his bed, and gave Parker a warning look;" You didn't mean that, did you?"

"I'm sorry, shorty. I didn't mean that the way that it sounded." said his brother and sat down next to Sage on the other side of the bed;" I just think that we should stay out of mom and dad's business. Dad is still with Janet and we don't know if mom wants dad back or if dad would want to go back to mom and leave Janet."

"Are you blind?" asked she with an angry look as she got up;" Mom and dad both look at each other sometimes the way that they used to when they were still married! Mom's face lights up whenever dad walks in and it's the same with dad. So don't tell me you really believe that there's a chance that they don't want each other back and that dad wants to stay married to Janet!"

"Even if that is true then it's still their business and we need to stay out of it!" warned Parker his little sister;" If or when mom and dad decide to get back together again they will tell us!"

"There's nothing wrong with helping them get back together again!" answered she and walked away;" They belong together!"

"Sage…!" called he on after her, but without any luck, and looked at his brother;" I wish that she would just stay out of it."

"Can you blame her for wanting mom and dad back together again?" asked J.J;" Don't you want them back together again?"

"Ofcourse I do, but only if they stay together this time around." replied his brother hesitating;" I don't think that mom could survive it if dad left again."

"Maybe it will be different this time around." said he;" It would so great to be together again, as a family."

"Yeah, it would." answered Parker with a sad smile and walked away;" Until something bad happens again."
