Green Ninja 429 : THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE COMMENT/REVIEW. Dude, I was so excited and literally that made my day! My cheeks hurt from smiling!
ANYWAY: on to the story!
Kai's POV.
"Our plan is set!" HWR hissed, seated by the meeting table with Ember and I. I knew all along she was alive. HWR had come and threatened me.
He told me that I was destined for great things. He said he knew that I knew Ember was still alive. Then, he told me that if I wasn't careful and didn't do anything he said, he would hurt the ninja. He said he had a plan already in place and all he had to do was press a button.
Did I believe him? No. But when someone like him says something like that, would you risk it?
It surprised me though, because I was supposed to fake my anger at the minions when they interrupted us at Embers grave, but I actually burnt down a whole forest.
I was actually mad.
The burning of the forest was so easy. The power was at my fingertips. It literally was a movement of my fingers. I felt so powerful. It was all HWR's fault.
Sensei was scared, I'll tell you that. He didn't know what was happening so he taught me the dark way. I wanted to tell him not too, but HWR forced it out of me and told me I had to learn the dark ways.
So I tried to do it so that I would stay good, just using evil ways. But the more I did it, the more I realized that I wanted to hurt and harm my friends. I thought I was better than them. How could Jay date my sister? She deserved better. Zane is just a tin can with a Google in him. Cole is a ghost who could die if he spilt water while drinking it. Lloyd is a young naive boy with a little too much Tomorrow Tea in his system, mistaken as the Green Ninja.
Foolishness.
I wanted to rule.
I was better than them. All of them.
But I realized how wrong that was. How could I say such things to my friends? My brothers?
So I quit. I pretended I was learning. I convinced Sensei, and HWR by randomly burning empty buildings in Ninjago. What did you think Sensei was doing in Ninjago all that time?
Ember and I met secretly a few times. She asked how everything was going at home, but I know she didn't really care. She was transformed. She was turning worse by the day. There were hours she was herself, and then in seconds, she was gone. And now, it's seconds she's there and hours she's gone. She's not Cookie, our friend. She's Ember, the enemy.
I convinced HWR to move his plan forward a few weeks. I couldn't risk Ember to truly turn evil. Every once in a while she goes back to her true self, but then the anger comes back and she tries to get information out of me. It's torture to watch one of your best friends like that.
"We got them in a trap!" Ember cackled. She froze, looking confused and her usually two different blue eyes came through the two different colored evil eyes for a second, before she shook her head, trying to clear it. Cookie was here. And then the Ember came back. "They all ended up in the room."
"Yes," I evil laughed, pretending to be happy. We watched the video on the screen in front of us.
Lloyd was spinning the broken chains around his head. Cole was nowhere in sight. The rest of the ninja were pacing while Jay tried to do something with the door controls, connecting Zane to them and pressing a few buttons.
"Little does he know," HWR cackled under his long hood, "that those controls are the fakes!" He slapped his leg as if finding the situation funny, which he probably did.
My heart sank. No! Come on you guys! You're better than this! Use your powers! Tornado of creation.
I mentally hit myself. Duh! I'm not there!
"Okay, let's go!" HWR led the way to the room they were stuck in. "They've dwindled long enough."
We went into the door next to their room. Pressing a few buttons, the evil person walked into the enormous room. There was some sort of force field between us and the wall. Pressing another button, the second destroyer of Ninjago slid the wall down into the ground.
The looks of shock crossed all my team members. Jay looked really exhausted and way older than what he was. Nya just froze. Cole was gone, I'm not sure if he was in the room or actually gone, because the video can't capture ghosts on screen, so he could have disappeared. Lloyd was wavering, like glowing weirdly.
I was happy I had my hood drawn so they couldn't see me like this. Ember smiled at me. Not a friendly one, but a confused one, like she couldn't decide who she was going for. Then her eyes flashed red.
HWR cackled. "The Saviors of Ninjago," he mocked. "This was easier than I thought."
Lloyd flew up and smashed into the force field. He was thrown back, but stood and rushed toward the green transparent wall. He screamed in anger and smashed his fists against it, causing them to rebound and smash into his own face. He flew back and hit the wall, making a crack and an indent of himself appear in it.
Nya ran to his aid and Ember and HWR cackled again. I glanced around nervously.
"Where's the earth ninja?" HWR hissed. "Or should I say, the ghost?"
Mist sprayed around the room and Jay's eyes went wide. My heart skipped beats as the water droplets fluttered the room.
"No!" he yelled. "Cole can die!"
"So be it."
Jay freaked out and pressed a few buttons on Zane's chest and all of his flaps tipped horizontal, making a shelter for the ghost of a ninja. Cole appeared, pressing himself as close as he can to the metal teammate, hidden from the mist rain. Jay took off his shirt and hood and made sure there were no leaks that could accidentally drip.
HWR smiled. "That's so he won't do anything sneaky."
Nya screamed, her hair sticking to her face. Rain dripped down her face, creating green streaks that shimmered from her eyes. "Let us go you brute!" That made the evil person laugh horrifically.
"I can't do that, Nya. First off, the city will be mine, and secondly, I feel like rubbing things in your face, to prove that I'm better. Now-" he was interrupted by the door being knocked upon.
"Coffee, Uncle!"
Dominique entered the room.
"No!" Lloyd breathed. "Run Dom! Get out of here!"
She smiled, then froze, frowning. "Lloyd? What, why? This doesn't make sense! Uncle, you said you would kill the protesters of Ninjago for us to rule the city, not Lloyd!" She motioned past the shimmery force field.
HWR snorted. "This is the boy you were talking about? Well, he needs to die." Dom's face turned white. "Besides," HWR continued, "you can get any boy you want, once we rule."
"I guess," she said with uncertainty. She hid her eyes behind her blond hair.
The rain started to freeze in little marbles, falling hard. With being super wet, and laying in a puddle, Lloyd started to freeze over.
Jay interrupted with his usual blubbering. "Well, I guess the all powerful HWR isn't all powerful. He needed to have friends in this so called, 'taking over the world.'" He squinted. "Who are they again?" He was quaking and shivering, pulling Nya close to share heat.
Before I could protest, my hood was drawn from my head, pulled down by Embers, as she pulled hers down. The light blinded me and I shielded my face for a second. I bit my lip and slowly looked up at my friends.
Ember smiled wickedly, then turned herself, toward my friends.
"It's us, ninja. Be prepared to die."
"K-Kai. H-help us."
Lloyd.
"Ya," mocked HWR, mimicking the fallen Green Ninja. "Help us Kai."
"I-I can't," I stuttered. My heart was breaking. He sounded helpless, like that in the volcano. Lloyds head lolled sideways. His lips were blue and his black hair piece was frozen into the ground.
Ember chuckled.
I was desperate. "HWR, don't you need them alive?!" I played with the hem on my new black with red stitching suit, as the evil master had put it.
"What for?" he laughed. "They die here, Ninjago is mine!" He watched in delight as Jay tried to warm Lloyd by rubbing his legs. It didn't help that The Kid threw all his might into that punch for the shimmery force field. I'm surprised he didn't kill himself, or knock himself unconscious right away.
Dominique saw my desperation and tried to help. Even if she is the niece of an evil man, he has a soft spot for her. "Uncle, what if you stop the freezer and let them go outside? Get handcuffs or something and show Ninjago to their face how powerful you truly are. Then kill them."
HWR rubbed his chin. "Yes, yes. That is truly a spectacular idea, my dear." He thought for a second. "Very well." He shut off the freezer, as I watched my sister try to warm her numb body. The mist shut off next, even though it was not even a mist. It was a full rain storm.
Ember threw five handcuffs into the room quickly, threw the door. "Put these on if you want to live," she hissed. "Tightly. No monkey business." Cole snatched them, glaring at me as he gingerly watched the water puddles. He handed them out.
Zane frowned. "How can we do monkey business if we are not monkeys? It is scientifically proven that beings, such as ourselves, cannot do business that is monkeys. It doesn't compute."
"And shut the tin can up!" she snarled.
"Ember." Lloyd moved a little before his frozen muscles gave way and he collapsed half again. Cookie appeared for a split second, but was gone almost instantly.
It's almost too late to save her. And him.
"Okay, let's go!" HWR led them out, Jay dragging Lloyd with Zane trying to help. They struggled with the handcuffs on him. "Hurry up!" HWR raged. "We don't have all day! He's unconscious. Leave him be. Just take him with us." Cole watched in distress, not being able to touch his wet friend. He snapped on his own handcuffs.
They walked past me, giving me glares of distaste, shock, and betrayal. Nya brought up the rear, following the draggin' Lloyd, being moved by Zane. "Come along, Kai," HWR changed, leading the way. Dominique had her arm linked with his and kept looking at the Green Ninja.
Nya roughly shoved by me.
"N-Nya. I can explain-"
"Leave it Kai. I'm not interested."
"Just let me try to-"
"Shut it!"
Jay came over and escorted his girlfriend away from me. "Don't you think you've done enough?" His eyes burned with rage. This isn't the Jay I know. He would show compassion toward me. His best friend.
I tried to get him to see my point. " I didn't mean to death sentence you!"
"Well what did you think would happen?"
"Jay..."
"Stop!" His nostrils flared and he started making me really cold the closer he got.
I shivered. "Nya! Jay! Just hear me out."
"Leave it. I never ever want to see you ever again. " he pushed his face right up to mine. "And if you ever come close to Nya, your sister, ever again, I Will Kill You."
HOTHEAD O-U-T.
