Jordan- 15

Hailey Upton. The new detective to join intelligence from robbery homicide. Jordan didn't take to her at first, she felt as if she replaced Erin. She wanted her sister back. The teen oftened waved to her or said a simple hi or bye. She didn't have a close bond to her like she did with the others. She wasn't Erin.

Hailey knew the teen was still upset about Erin's departure, she wanted to know the teen better. Besides the one moment they had they never really had any other interaction with each other.

One day the team was working on a case, Hank was out talking with a CI. Jordan was coming in the district and up to the squad. The fifteen year old was coming from an AA and therapy session, she'd been attending a lot more meetings since Erin left, she was struggling a lot with her sobriety since Erin left. Not saying anything to anyone she walked to her father's office and closed the door.

Everyone didn't say much, they didn't know what to say to help her heal. In just such a short time frame she lost so many people. Justin, Olive and Daniel, Lexie, now Erin. Jordan felt as if she was barely hanging on by a thread, it could have been a matter of time before she slips.

Getting an idea Hailey got up from her desk and started for Hank's office, Jay saw his partner going there and went over to her.

"Hailey don't, Jordan's still having a hard time with everything" Jay told his partner.

"I wanna help her Jay. She needs someone" Hailey replies.

"The last time we forced Jo to talk to someone, it didn't end well. Give her time to come around. She's hurting bad right now. We should just give her some space. There's a lot about her you don't know"

"I wanna know about her, Jay. I wanna help her"

Jay sighed, he knew his partner wouldn't give up. Hailey had gone to Hank's office knocking then walking in. Jordan was at her father's desk doing her homework, her one year sobriety chip in her hand. She twirled it around between her fingers, hearing the door open she looked up thinking it was her father but instead she saw Hailey.

"You do know my dad's not here right?" Jordan asked looking back down to her book.

"I know, I came to see you," Hailey answered.

The teen looked at her with a curious look. "May I ask what for?"

"I thought maybe we should get to know one another a little better"

The teen knew where this was going. Jordan wasn't one to open up with just anyone, especially someone she just met and who took her sister's place. The teen closed her book. Jordan thought she could give it a try. If Hailey was a part of the team now then that would mean she would be part of her family.

"What'd you have in mind?"

That had actually shocked the blonde detective, she didn't expect to get that reaction out of the teen. A small smile appeared on her face.

"Maybe we can get pizza or something"

"I guess that's alright"

"Let's go"

Jordan closed her book and stuffed it in her bag, she left it under her father's desk. Hailey had gone out to get her jacket and gun from her desk. They all had watched. They all had seen Jordan come from her father's office and were stunned. Had Hailey actually gotten through to their boss's daughter? None of them had been able to do so since Erin left. Jay was even more surprised.

One vow the young detective took to, when Erin left he swore he'd look out for Jordan. He always had looked out for her but this time it was different. Growing up Erin and Jordan always had a special bond. Erin had always looked out for her. Now she was gone. Jay had taken that role, it made their bond more special.

Jay had gone to the teen and hugged her. "Be careful kiddo. Stay close to Hailey"

"Yes dad" The teen teased.

He chuckled and kissed her head in a brotherly way. After Hailey and Jordan had their stuff they left. Everyone had watched as Jordan left with Hailey.

"Does anyone know how she's holding up?" Adam asked.

"She's been going to meetings and more sessions," Jay answered. "She seems like she's getting better"

"Hopefully we won't have a repeat of what happened before" Antonio says softly.

The team had really hoped that the teen wouldn't slip, they feared if she slipped again. She may not come back. She'd be lost forever.

Hailey had decided to take Jordan for pizza as a start to get to know her. Maybe have more of a conversation. Jordan had been really depressed since Erin left, she felt the urges coming back but didn't know what to do. She'd buried herself in school work, going to meetings and therapy. She'd often work over at Peter's office doing small stuff, anything to keep busy and her mind distracted.

Hailey had glanced at the teen and back to the road. "So Jo, how's school?"

"A pain in the ass"

"Anything new?"

"Not really. Same stuff different day"

"That's….nice"

"What is this Hailey?"

"What's what?"

"This. Us. What's this"

Straight to the point, just like her father, Hailey thought to herself. "I wanna get to know you Jo. I wanna know who you are"

"You already know who I am. Everyone does, Half of the city does"

"I know you're Hank Voight's daughter, but you're also a person. You're your own person Jo. You're not just your father's daughter. There's more to you than being Hank Voight's kid. You are beautiful, bright, smart, strong, brave, tough, and you are one hell of a fighter"

"Don't feel like one"

"You are Jo, don't you ever let anyone tell you otherwise"

"If they don't want me to knock them on their ass they won't. Been in far too many battles"

"You're a really strong kid"

"Been told" She looked in the rear view mirror and saw a car tailing them. "Were being followed"

"Jo it's traffic"

"And you're supposed to be a detective" She rolled her eyes, sarcasm dripping in her voice. "You're being followed. I know a tail when I see one. Seen them enough in my life. Lose them"

Hailey saw the car Jordan was referring too and she noticed it, her heart raced in her chest. No. She wouldn't let anything happen to Jordan. The detective started to speed around the other cars she had then flipped on her lights and sirens.

"First official car chase. I never thought it would happen" Jordan lightly jokes.

"So not the time kid"

As Hailey was driving and swerving around she managed to avoid hitting the other cars, she had ended up losing the car. A smile creeped on Jordan's face.

"Not bad" She saw something coming fast, she saw bright lights. "Hailey!"

Before Hailey could react there was a loud CRASH!

Hailey and Jordan were knocked out, the teen was slowly coming around. She blindly saw someone taking Hailey from the driver seat. The teen was too weak to move before she knew she felt herself getting picked up and moved, Jordan tried to fight but couldn't. Something sharp had gone into her neck and she passed out.

The two masked people put Hailey and Jordan in a van and took off. They had taken the two girls' phones, they had taken Hailey's badge and gun and put it in a bag.

"Pay back time blondie" One voice said.

Meanwhile

Hank had arrived back at the district after meeting with his CI, the team had been working leads. When Hank had gotten to his office his daughter wasn't there. He had slightly panicked.

Jay was coming from the lounge with coffee, he saw his boss about to freak not seeing his daughter. "Jordan's with Hailey"

"Where?" Hank's voice sounded urgent.

When Jay had heard the worry and urgency in his boss's voice he had gotten concerned. "Sarge what's going on?"

"Hailey's cover has been blown, I don't know how but she's in danger" Hank's breathing picked up. "And if Jo's with her...she..she's in trouble too"

"Hey Sarge, we'll find them. Both of them"

"I..I just got her back Jay. I can't lose her"

"Jordan's gonna be fine. She has Hailey to watch and protect her"

Antonio had gone over to them. "Everything good?"

"Hailey's cover is blown. We think she and Jo are in trouble" Jay answered.

"We'll start tracking their phones and the car's GPS" Antonio looked to their boss. "We'll find her"

Hank was breathing heavily, the pain of Justin's death was still there. It was coming up on nearly a year of his death. Then losing his grandson, Olive, and now Erin. If he lost his daughter, that be it. Jordan was the only person that was keeping Hank completely sane. Without her, he wouldn't know what to do.

The older Sergeant felt his knees buckle a bit, both of the detectives had caught their boss before he fell they brought him to the office to sit down. Antonio had gone to inform the others.

Jay was concerned for his partner and the teen, both were important to him. He cared for Jordan more though. From the moment he came into Intelligence he watched her as she grew from a playful little girl to a bright young teen. He and Jordan were nearly the same, they both had PTSD, they both knew what it was like to be addicts at one point, they had confided in one another. Jordan had saved his life when he had overdosed in his apartment. There was nothing he wouldn't do for the teen.

He and Hailey were still starting out as partners; he was still getting to know her and all. He cared for her as a friend and would do anything and everything to get her back. Right now he had to focus on calming Hank down before his boss blew up and wanted to go tear the city inside out till he found his daughter.

"We'll find them Sarge, we'll they're both smart and leave us some kind of trail" Jay told his boss.

"I just got Jordan back, I-I can't lose her again" Hank says, trying to even his breathing out.

"We won't lose either of them"

"I hope your right Halstead"

While

Jordan was coming to in a cold dark basement, her body her, her head was splitting. When she tried to move she couldn't she was chained to a pipe. Hailey was already awake and in a lot of pain but that didn't stop the blonde detective work on getting them out of there. The detective was also chained to a pipe but she had been across the room away from the teen.

"Don't worry Jo we'll get out of this. I promise" Hailey says to her, hissing in pain.

"Wha….What happened? Where are we?" Jordan asked weakly.

"Looks like a basement"

"It's cold" She hissed and whimpered in pain. "When.. when were found and have to go to the hospital. No pain meds for me" The teen gritted her teeth.

Hailey frowned in confusion. Why would the teen refuse pain meds? It was clear she was in pain. "Jo you can have pain meds there's nothing wrong with it"

"No pain meds" She gritted her teeth harder. She couldn't go back down that road not again. The teen was coming up on a year of being clean and sober. Nothing was gonna cause her to fall.

The blonde detective saw the look on the teen's face, half from being in a great deal of pain and the other half of being scared. "Alright no pain meds. We may be down here a while the others will be looking for us soon"

"Knowing my dad he'll tear this city apart looking for us"

Hailey had stayed quiet, she wanted to get to know the teen better this wasn't how she meant it. Jordan saw the look on her face. If they were gonna be down there a while might as well get to know each other.

"The reason I said no pain meds is because I'm a recovering addict" Jordan admitted. At first she would have felt ashamed of it but not anymore.

That had totally taken the detective back. Her boss's daughter was an addict? At 15? She was speechless for sure.

"Wha.. what happened" Hailey got her voice back.

Now it got to Jordan, a lump formed in her throat. It was coming up on a year her brother died. Right after they buried him that's when she began spiraling.

"Almost a year ago my brother Justin...he.. He was murdered. The doctors did what they could but my brother wasn't gonna wake up. Even if he ever did he wouldn't remember us. He wouldn't remember anything" Her voice quivered and shook. Her body started shaking, half from cold, half from anxiety. "They wanted to take my brother off life support. Olive, my sister in law, she couldn't make the decision so she asked my dad.

My dad took him off and...he died. I held my brother's hand as he took his final breath of life. When he died. I died. After the case was done and we buried him I started spiraling out of control really quick. I drank, used, cut, you name it I did it. I overdosed and nearly died. I sliced my wrist and almost died. Trusted the wrong person and was nearly raped. I uh… I had slept with one of Adam's CI's and he ratted on me. My dad put me in jail. He came and saw me, we talked, really talked. I agreed to go to rehab. I'm coming up on a year being clean and sober"

By the time Jordan was done Hailey was just about in tears, it was no wonder why everyone was so protective of the teen. "I-I'm so sorry Jo"

"My mom, she died when I was a baby so I never got to know her. When Justin died everything came down hitting me. I was never truly able to grieve my mom. So when my brother died I grieved them both. Only I was turning into someone I didn't recognize. I was angry all the time. Angry at the world. It wasn't enough I lost my mom" She was choking up. "But I lost my big brother too. Then my sister in law left and took my nephew with him. I only saw him once since they left. Once. I named my nephew. Justin let me name him when he was born"

"What's his name?"

"Daniel. Daniel Aaron Voight"

"That's a strong name"

"Me and my brother were close to Erin, it felt right to do it. She was the sister we never had"

"I heard you were close with her"

"She's known me my whole life since I was two. She was my big sister. Blood doesn't make a family, it's the people who love and care about you. I know it seems as if everyone is walking on eggshells around me they don't want me to slip and fall again"

"You're a good kid Jo"

"I know it seems like I've been a hard ass. I'm struggling with staying clean and stuff. I'm trying not to get angry, I've been going to more meetings and therapy"

"That's good"

The door opened and Hailey stood up and tried to block the teen's view. The guy looked at Hailey and grinned evilly.

"Hello Kelsy. Or is it Detective Upton" He spoke.

Her eyes had widened, Kelsy was her name for the current case, she was under to stop a shipment of drugs and weapons from coming into the city. She had to play it cool otherwise she and Jordan were as good as dead.

"I don't know what you mean," She said smoothly.

"I think you do, see we found this on you"

He tossed her badge and ID to her on the floor, she closed her eyes and knew her cover was definitely blown. Now she and Jordan were in danger.

"Patrick don't do this"

"You lied to me. You used me"

"I was doing my job!"

"And now I'm doing mine"

"Look if you want me, fine. Let her go, she has nothing to do with this"

He walked over to Jordan and grabbed her up. "I think I'll keep her. She's such a beauty"

"And your fugly you piece of shit" Jordan spat at him.

Patrick grinned. "Feisty too. I love it"

"If you don't wanna lose your hand I very highly suggest you get it off me"

He had pulled the teen closer, she managed to slide her fingers in his back pocket and get the key. She then held it tightly. Patrick leaned and kissed her cheek down her neck, Jordan shivered. She had managed to bring her knee up to the man's groin area making him fall to his knees.

"Don't like being touched"

"You...little...bitch"

"I've been called worse"

She then kicked him in the face under his chin hard, he turned and spat blood out.

"That was for kissing me"

After a moment he got up, he pulled a gun and put it under her chin. Hailey was terrified. She didn't care what happened to her, all she cared about was what happened to Jordan.

"Patrick! ENOUGH! She's just a kid!" Hailey yelled.

Jordan had looked completely unfazed, it wasn't the first time a gun was pulled on her or that she saw a gun. "Go ahead, shoot me. Do it" She challenged the man.

That had definitely taken the detective back. "Jordan stop! Enough!"

"No Hailey. Let him he wants to be a man and kill a kid, let's see if he has the balls to do it" Jordan's voice was strong and bold. "Do it go ahead. Pull the trigger. Do it!"

"Jordan stop it! Enough!"

Patrick had eventually put the gun down and Jordan smirked. "I knew you didn't have it in you"

He then bashed her across the face with the gun, her eye was black and blue, red sticky blood oozed down her face. Just as he was about to go again Hailey called to him.

"Patrick, you want someone to hit? Hit me" Hailey told him sharply.

He looked at Jordan, her face bruised and bleeding as he smirked. "I got something else in mind for you"

"You don't know who you're messing with buddy". Jordan spoke dangerously and darkly. "My father is the devil himself. Me. I'm just about on his level of being the devil. You don't wanna screw with me. That'll be the last thing you ever do"

He chuckled evilly. "You think you can scare me? That's cute. You don't scare me and neither does your father"

Jordan chuckled dryly. "You obviously have no idea who my father is"

"I'll be back for you sweet cheeks" He patted her cheek.

"Touch me again and I'll break your hand"

Patrick left locking the door. Hailey looked to the teen with a look. "What the hell were you thinking? Are you trying to get killed?"

"Actually" She moved her wrists and they were free. "I'm getting us out of here"

The teen looked stunned. How the hell did she do that? "H-how did you do that?"

"Hailey, I was playing with my dad's handcuffs when I was a kid. I knew how to get out of them by 9. I was distracting him long enough to get the keys. Wanna keep talking or get the hell outta here?"

The detective nodded and Jordan finished freeing herself, she moved slowly as she was in a hell of a lot of pain. She gritted her teeth, she wouldn't admit she's in pain. She could fight through it.

Hailey saw the painful look on her face. "It's alright kiddo. You're gonna be fine"

"I'm ok"

Jordan started to work on getting Hailey freed when she bent down to unlock her

ankles. The teen had just fallen to her knees not being able to take the pain. She managed to crawl and reach to unlock the lock, the young teen managed to free Hailey. Quickly the blonde detective bent down to the teen's level and looked her over for injuries.

"Hailey I'm fine" Jordan had just about cried in pain. No matter how much pain she was in, she wouldn't give in. Not a chance. "R-remember, no pain meds"

"No pain meds I promise"

"I don't know about you but I'm ready to ditch this place. Let's go"

"Just stay behind me"

"Hailey no offence. I don't need a babysitter or protector. Been in my fair share of fights"

"Just stay behind me kid"

Jordan couldn't help but roll her eyes as she followed the detective. She grabbed a crowbar off the floor and rounded the blonde detective. As quickly as she could she made quick work of the door. Ramming the crow bar into the side she used all her weight and strength pushing it in busting the door. Pain had shot through her body as she gritted her teeth, she closed her eyes as she felt her body on fire from the pain.

Screaming she used more and more force till the door opened half way. Jordan couldn't do it again. She had an idea. "Hailey move back from behind me"

"What?"

"Just do it please"

She had moved away from the teen, Jordan managed to lift the crowbar and started bashing the door in. The teen had used the rest of her strength to beat the door down. The wooden door was broken into pieces. Taking the crowbar Jordan cleared a small area for her and Hailey to get out.

The two girls had gotten out, Hailey had taken a protective stance in front of the teen, they looked for a way out. Jordan saw the front door and walked over. She was in too much pain to care. Hailey was looking around for her gun, the teen opened the door and saw nothing but woods.

"Shit" She cursed.

"What?" Hailey called from the other side of the room.

"How do you feel about the woods?"

"Great"

"Find anything to help us?"

"No. I think they still have my gun"

"This is great"

"Jordan you stay here and I'll go for help"

"Have you lost your mind? I'm not staying here alone"

"I can't send you out there alone with no protection"

"I don't need protection Hailey, it's not my first time being kidnapped or taken in the woods. I can take care of myself"

"You're a kid Jordan"

"I haven't been a kid for the last year" She then remembered something. She pulled something from her sock. A phone.

Hailey raised her eye. "I thought he took your phone"

"I have a backup just in case"

"Are you sure you're not a teenager and not a cop? You always seem to be ahead of things"

"I've always had the right teachers to help me. I ain't got no service I'm gonna go try and find service for this thing"

"Be careful"

"I'm a Voight. I got this"

Jordan had taken off to find service for the phone, Hailey looked around for any evidence.

The teen ran through the woods, it made her body hurt more but she was pushing herself, her body was trying to run on adrenaline. Her legs burned and ached. It was winter and it was freezing. All the teen had on was a long sleeve shirt and jeans, her clothes were born, blood stuck to her clothes. Her breathing was heavy and she panted.

Patrick was behind the teen he quickly went behind her and clamped a hand over her mouth. Before Jordan could register what was happening she tried to let out a scream but it was muffled. Glancing back she saw Patrick and glared viciously at him, the teen tried to fight but her body was too weak. The middle aged man had something in his hand, a syringe.

When Jordan caught eye of it her eyes widened, she shook her head frantically. She couldn't go back down that road. She just couldn't. Not after all she went through to get clean. He stuck the needle in her neck and pushed down. Soon the teen started going limp in his hold, her eyes drooped closed. Within a few more seconds the teen was out. Patrick took her to a van he had nearby and put her in the back. He tied her wrist and ankles and got in the driver seat taking off.

Hailey was getting nervous, Jordan had been gone a while. Maybe the teen got lost in the woods. Maybe she had managed to get a hold of the team and relayed their location. Or...Patrick found her. Shaking all the negativity from her head she couldn't or wouldn't think that way. In the small amount of time Hailey had gotten to know Jordan she knew the teen was a fighter, she was strong, brave, every bit of her father.

Jordan had been gone way too long by this point, Hailey was already in the woods searching. Snap. A tree branch broke. That caused the detective's head to shoot over, she had found a gun and aimed it.

"Chicago PD!" Hailey yelled. "Come out slowly with your hands up"

"Hailey?! Hailey!" Adam called.

"Adam? Is that you!"

Out came Adam followed by Jay, Kim, Kevin, Antonio, Alvin, and Hank.

"How'd you guys find us?"

"Jordan's back up phone" Hank answered, knowing how his daughter is.

"Where is Jordan?" Jay asked.

"Not in the house" Kevin spoke.

Hailey felt her blood run cold, Jordan was missing. She swore she'd watch out for her and she failed. Hank noticed the silence and felt his heart drop. No. He couldn't lose both his children. Not within a year of each other.

"Hailey" Hank said, his voice shaking and quivering. "Where's my daughter?"

"I don't know but I swear I'm going to find her"

….

This is going to be a second parter, the next chapter will have more of Hailey and Jordan bonding. And Jay has a surprise instore for Jordan.
