On Saturday morning at a little past nine, eight year old Jude Adams Foster wakes up and heads downstairs expecting to find his mama in the kitchen cooking breakfast, while his mommy sips on a cup of coffee and chats with mama. But he doesn't. Instead he finds an empty kitchen with no smells of his mama's good cooking.

Young Jude is confused, but he figures that his mamas are probably still asleep or maybe just relaxing in bed. He walks upstairs to their room. His intention is to wake them up, but they aren't in bed. Now Jude is even more confused and he starts to worry.

'Where are mama and mommy?' Jude wondered

"B!" Jude yelled as he ran into his older brother Brandon's room shook the young teen awake. "B! B!"

Brandon mumbled sleepily, "Mmm? What's wrong, JJ?"

Brandon nicknamed Jude 'JJ' for the little boy's first and middle name, which is Jacob. So Jude Jacob equals JJ.

"Mamas are gone!" Jude exclaimed frantically, "They're not in their room and mama's not in the kitchen."

Brandon shot up in bed, "What?! Are you sure?!"

Jude nodded, "Yeah. I checked." Then he added sadly, "B, I want mamas. I'm scared. What's going to happen to us? I don't want to go back to foster care."

Jude and his sister Callie, age 12, had been adopted two years. The Adams Foster family were their second foster family. They spent two months in their first foster home and it was awful for both kids.

"I know, JJ. I want our mamas too." Brandon replied as he hugged his little brother, "And I don't know what will happen, but I won't let anyone split up our family or take us away from our home."

A few moments later, three very frantic kids ran down the stairs.

"Mamas!" Callie yelled as she runs down the stairs with her twin younger siblings Jesus and Mariana, age 11.

Scared, Mariana moves closer to her big sister. She stays silent and starts to revert back to how she was before her and Jesus met their mamas four years ago.

Jesus turns to look at his older sister , "Cals, where are moms?"

"I…I don't know." Callie replied with a confused look on her face

Brandon heads downstairs with Jude as the two brothers hold hands.

"B, where are mommy and mama?" Callie questioned looking at Brandon

Brandon shrugged his shoulders, "I'm sorry, Cal. I don't know."

Callie looked scared and sad. She hugged her sister and didn't know what to say. The five siblings huddled together in a big group hug.

"At least we're together." Jesus stated

Brandon nodded and agreed, "Jesus is right."

"But what do we do? None of us are old enough to be in charge. We can't stay home with no adults in the house." Callie explained

"I know." Brandon replied, "We just have to find moms before anyone finds out we are living here without any adults in the house."

Callie gave a nod, "Okay B."

"How are we going to find mamas?" Jude wondered

Brandon shrugged, "I guess we start by retracing our steps. Figuring out what happened yesterday that caused our moms to just be gone today."

"Brandon's right." Jesus agreed, "And nobody worry. We will find moms. We will."

Mariana took a breath and spoke softly, "W….What if we don't find mamas?"

Brandon sighed softly and Callie just hugged Mariana. "We will, Mari, we will." Callie assured her sister

The Adams-Fosters kids headed over to the couch in the living room and sat down to talk and retrace the steps of their day yesterday.

"Okay so what happened yesterday?" Brandon asked

"Um….well" Jesus started

Flashback: One day earlier -

It was a normal school day Friday morning. Mariana was hogging the bathroom and spending what seemed like hours in there. Her siblings were knocking on the door and complaining about whatever it was they needed to do in the bathroom.

"Mariana!" Jesus yelled as he knocked on the door, "I have to use the bathroom."

Brandon pounded on the door, "Mariana! I still need to shower!"

"And I need to brush my teeth." Jude whined as he too knocked on the door

End of flashback -

"Jesus!" Callie shouted, "That's not significant. That happens everyday." Then she added, "Brandon meant what happened yesterday that's significant. That would cause mamas to disappear."

"Okay geez, Callie. Don't have a fit." Jesus told her

Brandon interrupted, "We need to stop fighting and work together. So please can we all just get along."

"Sure." Callie agreed

Jesus shrugged, "I guess."

"Good." Brandon replied, "So what happened yesterday?"

"Um…I had a weird dream last night. I don't know if it means anything though." Jude spoke up

Callie gave a nod, "I had a weird dream too."

"Me too." Mariana agreed

"Let's hear the dreams, even if they don't mean anything. This is a starting place." Brandon stated, "JJ, you're first. Then Cal and then Mari."

Jude nodded and took a breath, "Okay well...in my dream mamas were in a magical..."

"Okay wait. I don't know if this is going to help." Jesus interrupted, "Listening to a bunch of dreams. Dreams aren't real."

"Jesus is right, B. This is stupid. If we want to find moms, we have to be smart and we can't waste time." Callie added

Brandon sighed softly, "Okay well maybe we should call my dad." He takes the home phone and dials Mike's number.

"Hello? This is Mike Foster." Mike answered

"Hey Dad, I need your help." Brandon said

"Whoa kid. Who is this?" Mike replied, "Is this some sort of prank?"

Brandon took a deep breath, "This is Brandon Foster. You're my dad. You were married to my mom Stef."

"I'm sorry, kid. I don't know anyone by the name of Stef. I was never married, and I certainly don't have a son." Mike told the boy before hanging up.

Brandon sighed and then put the phone down, "Well that was a bust. He doesn't remember me or mom. He says he was never married."

"Okay what is going on here?" Mariana wondered

Brandon shook his head, "I don't know."

Meanwhile with Stef Foster and Lena Adams in an alternate universe in the year 1852 in Virginia. Lena is a slave and is owned by Stef's parents, Sharon and Frank. Her mother Dana was also owned by Frank and Sharon, but they sold Dana to Stuart on Lena's eighteenth birthday. Lena also has a four year old daughter, Lydia Danielle Adams, who was fathered by Frank.

Lena wakes up her young daughter Lydia at around 5:00 am so that they can get ready and start work for the day.

"Lyd, baby, it's time to wake up." Lena said to the little girl

Lydia turned and rubbed her eyes sleepily, "Mhm…Mama, I'm tired."

"I know, baby, but you know we have to start work at 5:30." Lena replied, "Sir Frank will get mad if we don't. You don't want us to get in trouble, do you?"

Lydia sat up and then shook her head, before clinging to her mother, "No, Mama. Carry me, please."

"Of course, princess." Lena responded as she held her daughter and then stood up.

Lena carried her daughter over to the shower area, so that she could bathe the little girl and herself.

After bathing and getting dressed Lena and Lydia start on their chores. Lena gives Lydia the easier ones, and takes the hard ones for herself. Sometimes she has to help the little girl with the chores, but for the most part the little girl does her chores by herself.

Later while Lena and her daughter Lydia were doing more chores, Stef was spying on the woman and her little girl. Stef had a crush on Lena and couldn't help but watch and feel bad for the woman.

"Hello? Who's there?" Lena asked hearing a soft rustling

Stef stepped out and revealed herself sheepishly, "Oh I'm sorry. I didn't mean to disturb or startle you. I just couldn't help but marvel at your beauty."

"That's my fault. I'm sorry for being a distraction." Lena apologized

Stef shook her head, "No, it's okay. It's my fault. My daddy says I'm a disgrace to the family just because I don't live up to his standards." She blushes, "Wow! I'm sorry. I don't know why I'm revealing myself to you like this. I should let you get back to work before my father finds us."

Lena nodded, "That would be smart."

A week had flown by and the Adams-Foster kids were still no closer to finding out what had happened to their moms, but after missing a week of school they knew that they had to go back or else the school would get suspicious.

On the walk to school, Brandon, as the oldest, talked to his siblings about what would happen at school and how they should act.

"Okay. We can't give any inclination that anything is wrong. We have to make everything seem normal." Brandon explained. He looked at Jesus, "That means no getting in trouble. We can't risk the teachers wanting to call our moms."

Jesus nodded, "Okay."

"What if my teacher asks why I wasn't in school last week?" Jude wondered

"Say you were sick." Brandon told his youngest brother.

Jude hummed, "Okay."

"Okay. But Mama works at the school, what do we say about where she is?" Mariana asked

Brandon scratched his head as he groaned, "Oh...I don't know. Say she's sick or something."

Mariana shook her head, "That won't work forever."

"No, but hopefully we'll have this all figured out before people get too suspicious." Brandon explained

"We will." Callie encouraged him
