Chapter 45
"I'm so glad you finally got to visit us!" said Leonard as he drove the car back after picking up Wyatt and Susan from the airport.
"We've been planning to visit for a couple of years now but things at the farm hasn't been good so we had to adjust our plans." said Wyatt who was sitting in the passenger seat while Susan sat in the back.
"I'm sure William is excited to meet you guys for the first time." said Leonard.
"I know. All we have of him are pictures that Penny sends to us, not to mention when we call on Skype." said Susan.
"I'm sorry if it's taking us a while to go back to the States. I know you want to see more of your daughter and grandchildren." Leonard said.
"It's alright Leonard." Wyatt said. "You guys seem to be happy with your life here! Right?" he added.
"Well my company's doing okay I guess. But last year was not so great. I guess it happens, a few years would be great and then some would not go your way." said Leonard.
They arrived shortly at the house as Leonard took Susan's luggage while welcoming them inside. As soon as Penny saw her parents, she ran up and hugged them, crying happy tears after how many years of not seeing them.
"Mom! Dad!" Penny exclaimed, hugging them tight.
"Ugh we miss you so much honey!" Susan said, crying happy tears upon seeing her daughter.
"It's so nice to see you again slugger!" Wyatt hugged Penny as Leonard looked on, somewhat wishing that he had this kind of relationship with his parents. William walked to his father, curious to meet his grandparents for the first time as Leonard put his hand on his shoulder to reassure him.
Penny then held William's hand to introduce him to her parents. "William sweetheart, I want you to meet your grandpa Wyatt and your grandma Susan." she said. "Mom, dad, this is my son William. Say hello to them sweetheart." she told her son.
William looked at his grandparents and gave them a small wave of his hand. "Hello." he said, obviously shy since this is the first time he met his grandparents in person.
Susan smiled and knelt in front of her grandson. "Hi William! I'm your grandma Susan! It's nice to finally meet you." she said, touching his hand, being careful not to scare the young boy.
Wyatt did the same, taking it slow so that the young man would slowly warm up to them. "Hi William. I'm your mommy's dad Wyatt." he said shaking his hand.
Penny touched William's face to reassure him. "It's alright sweetheart." she said trying to comfort her son.
"It's nice to meet you too." said William.
"Hey before I forget, I have something for you!" said Wyatt as he turned around to open his luggage. He then pulled out a remote-controlled toy tractor, giving it to William. "I hope you'll like this one." he said to his grandson as Penny, Susan and Leonard looked on.
William slowly accepted the toy before looking at Penny. "What are you gonna say sweetheart?" Penny said.
"Thank you grandpa!" said William as he moved forward to hug Penny's father.
Wyatt was glad to see the young man open up. "Ugh, you're welcome buddy!" he said hugging him tight. "I think your grandma would like a hug too." he added.
William faced Susan as she slowly hugged her grandson, thankful to finally break the ice with him. "Ugh! I've waited so long for this!" she said kissing William on his cheek. "You are so handsome!" she said, lightly pinching his cheek as Penny and Leonard looked on, glad that their son finally warmed up to his grandparents.
"You should see my sister. She looks just like my mommy." said William, making them laugh.
"Can you show me?" said Susan as she held William's hand while he pulls her towards the crib where Sarah is sleeping. "Oh my god Penny! She looks just like you when you were born!" Susan exclaimed, crying happy tears.
"Grandma you should keep it down, you won't like it if you disturb her sleep." said William making them smile.
"Why is that buddy?" asked Wyatt.
"She's gonna break your ears when she cries." said William.
Susan laughed a little. "Just like your mom when she was a baby." she said. "Tell me, does she like to eat too?" asked Susan.
"Uh huh. I sometimes wonder where she puts all the food she eats. I think she even eats more than I do." said William as they laughed.
"Then she really is your mother's daughter!" said Wyatt, ruffling his grandson's hair.
Penny sighed as Leonard looked at her, giving her a smug smile.
Sarah stirred a little from the noise and returned back to sleep, stretching her arms and legs across her crib as Susan touched her granddaughter's hand, patting her lightly back to sleep.
"Ugh look at her Wyatt! She's such an angel!" Susan said, giggling a little.
"Yeah, you two sure crank out beautiful babies huh!" Wyatt said to the couple making them smile.
"I think that credit belongs to Penny." said Leonard. "But their brains, that's from me. Especially with this young man, perfect scores on all his tests ever since he started school, right buddy?" he said to his son.
Susan turned to William. "Oh my god that is so amazing honey!" she said hugging and kissing her grandson. "I'm so proud of you!" she added.
"Good job buddy!" Wyatt said patting the young boy's shoulder.
"Thank you grandpa." said William. "My teacher even told me that they're planning to bump me a couple of grades up." he said surprising his parents.
"When did this happen sweetheart?" Penny asked her son.
"Yesterday." said William. "I guess I forgot to tell you mommy." he added.
Penny hugged her son, kissing his cheek. "I'm so proud of you! You just made mommy very happy!" she said.
"My teacher asked me to bring you there on Monday mommy. She wants to talk to you." he said.
"Okay I'll be there." said Penny smiling at her son.
"And now that grandma and grandpa are here, they can watch over Sarah so you won't have to bring her with you mommy." said William.
"That's a great idea buddy!" said Leonard.
They continued catching up while Wyatt and Susan settled in one of the bedrooms as Penny prepared lunch. Susan helped Penny in the kitchen while Leonard gave Wyatt a bottle of beer as they sat in the backyard to meet Buster who recognized Penny's parents. Leonard and Penny were glad that their son took to his grandparents well, warming up to them, telling them stories about his school, his friends and Buster who would always play with him. Right there and then, Wyatt and Susan knew how smart their grandson was as he showed them his school tests and the books he's been reading which was way too advanced for a normal five-year old boy. But then again, William was no ordinary boy, inheriting his father's intellect and curious mind.

For the next several days, Wyatt and Susan helped in taking care of Sarah as well as helping out around the house. Wyatt for his part would always walk with William to school, making up for lost time by spending it with the young man. Wyatt was impressed at how insightful and smart his grandson was, often asking him simple yet difficult questions catching him by surprise as he scrambled for answers.
After a couple of weeks, Wyatt and Susan asked if they could take William with them around the island, telling Leonard and Penny that they still need to feel the island life by going snorkeling and swimming at the beach.
"Okay, I want you to listen to your grandma and grandpa alright?" said Penny as she made sure her son looks okay.
"Don't worry mom. Mr. Sammy is gonna be with us." William said.
"He's right Penny. I think William here can take care of himself now, right?" Susan said.
Penny sighed. "Fine, just promise me you won't go somewhere without your grandpa or grandma okay?" she told her son.
"I promise mom." William said as Penny kissed his cheek.
"Good." she said hugging him. "Have fun okay!" she added.
"Yes mom." said William as they leave the house.
"Don't worry Leonard, I won't let him out of my sight." said Wyatt, shaking his hand before taking William by the hand to start their island tour with Sammy.
Leonard heard his daughter cry from the crib. He went over and found her diaper was already full so he decided to take her to the bathroom to wash her up before putting a new diaper on her while talking to the baby to entertain her.
"Hey princess! Are you hungry?" he asked Sarah while powdering her bottom before putting a fresh diaper on her. Sarah smiled, amused to see her father. "Aww, you are so sweet baby!" he added, tickling her side making the baby explode with laughter. "I'm sure you'll be as smart as me and your brother!" he said to her daughter before carrying her in his arm. "Let's go and get you some milk from the fridge." he said kissing the little princess.
Penny was preparing lunch when Leonard and Sarah joined her in the kitchen. "Hey guys, you seem to be having fun huh?" she asked as Leonard kissed his wife.
"This princess needed a new diaper." he said. "Now she needs something to fill her empty belly again!" he said as he opened the fridge to look for Penny's stored milk. He took one and put the bottle in a bowl before getting the thermos to put hot water on it to warm up the milk.
"You just won't stop eating huh?" Penny leaned over, kissing her daughter making Sarah giggle and laugh.
"Better this than getting sick all the time right?" he said to Penny.
Penny smiled at him. "And you are such an amazing husband!" Penny said, pinching his cheek. "And for that, you'll get some tonight!" she added.
"Ugh thank god! We haven't had any since you gave birth, like four, five months ago!" he excitedly said.
"Look at you! Getting excited at the thought of having sex with your wife again." Penny said, teasing him.
"Oh, believe me you won't regret this." he said kissing Penny before getting the warmed-up milk from the bowl, testing it to see if it is warm enough for the baby. "Here you go honey." he said as the baby quickly latched onto the bottle, satisfying her unending hunger. "Daddy loves you so much!" he said making Sarah smile. "Say goodbye to your mommy now." he said as Penny leaned over to kiss her daughter before Leonard went to the living room to cradle the baby back to sleep.
It didn't take long for Sarah for fall asleep after finishing her bottle of milk. Leonard slowly put her on the crib, making sure the mosquito net is snug. He then saw his board of equations on the wall and realized something. He took the eraser and wiped the board clean before writing some equations, correcting some of the terms as he went along the way.
"Honey, what are you doing?" Penny asked as she came from the kitchen, checking out Sarah on her crib.
"Nothing, just doodling out some equations." he said not turning his back from the board.
Penny walked up and hugged him from behind. "Do you know how sexy you are when you're doing your math and stuff?" she whispered in his ear.
Leonard quickly capped-off his board marker and dragged Penny into the bedroom. "Come on while the baby's still asleep!" he said before undressing Penny.

The couple laid on the bed, breathing hard after having sex. They both displayed goofy smiles as they feel the endorphins wash over their bodies while they tightly hug each other.
"That was worth the wait huh?" said Penny.
"Yeah. You were so into it!" he said while smelling her hair.
"I was trying to hold off so we could finish together." she said making Leonard laugh.
"Well you did a great job honey. We're just lucky the bed didn't break or something." he said. They were quiet for a while until Leonard decided to get dressed.
"Where are you going?" said Penny.
"I'm going back in there to do my math." he said smiling at her. "Don't worry honey, we'll have round two tonight, I promise!" he added, kissing her lips before going out of the bedroom leaving Penny surprised and perplexed. Penny sighed and decided to get dressed as well, following Leonard into the living room. She checked the baby sleeping in her crib, making sure no insects get inside the mosquito net.
"You know how I love it when you're this confident and self-assured man but sometimes you overdo it and just turn into a complete jackass!" said Penny, glaring at him.
Leonard turned around and smiled at her. "Thank you honey!" he said before going back to his board.
Penny walked up and punched him on his shoulder. "You're a jackass!" Penny said before going back to the kitchen.
"Hey that hurt!" said Leonard. He then put his marker down and decided to follow his wife who was cleaning up in the sink. He quietly walked and put his arms around her waist, kissing the back of her neck. "I'm sorry honey. Come back to bed and let me make it up to you!" he said tightening his arms.
"Let me go Leonard." Penny said trying hard not to laugh and giggle.
Leonard spun her around and kissed her lips, locking his arms around her. "Let's go before Sarah wakes up." he said while dragging his wife back into the bedroom. He gently pushed her on the bed, moving on top of her while they hurriedly took off their clothes, excited for getting intimate again.

"So?" asked Leonard as Penny catches her breath.
"Shut up!" she said, glaring at him.
"I'm gonna take that as a yes." he said, laughing a little.
"You can go back to your equations now." she said.
Leonard pulled her close, kissing her lips. "I love you so much!" he said before getting up to get dressed.
Leonard went back to his board when he heard Sarah wake up. He went over and saw his daughter playing with her hands, mumbling with whatever sounds she could utter. He lifted the mosquito net and took Sarah in his arms who was glad to see her daddy, laughing and giggling as Leonard kissed her neck.
"Come here little princess, help me with my math over here." he said as he went back to his board while Sarah looked at it, unable to understand the doodles that her daddy made. "What do you think?" he asked as Sarah mumbled as a response to her father.
Leonard kissed his daughter. "You are so smart honey!" he said before going back to his equations, writing down his ideas while Sarah kept quiet, watching her father work. "What do you think?" he said to Sarah as he stepped back, showing his work to the young lady. Sarah mumbled and pointed to the right side of the board making Leonard laugh. "I thought so too honey." he told Sarah as he continued writing. Leonard didn't know that Penny was watching them from behind, touched by the bond between father and daughter and how her husband stimulates their daughter's curiosity.
"Are you teaching her some of your funny math?" Penny said, amused by her husband.
"Yeah, we're trying to see if we could solve this equation here." he said as Penny stood beside him as if knowing what to look for.
"And what about this young lady huh? Is she of any use to you?" said Penny while taking Sarah from Leonard.
"She's been nothing but helpful really." he said. "I think this young lady is gonna be as smart as her brother." he said.
"Really?" said Penny as she lifted her daughter up in the air, making her laugh and giggle. "Aww, my little princess is gonna be a genius like her daddy! I'm so proud of you!" she said kissing Sarah on her neck as Leonard focused back on his board.

Later that afternoon, Wyatt, Susan and William arrived at the house, visibly tired from their little family adventure.
"Hi sweetheart! How was it?" Penny asked while hugging her son.
"It was great mommy. Grandpa and I dived in the ocean and we saw a big turtle!" said William as Wyatt and Susan sat on the couch to rest.
"That is awesome." said Penny, "What was it doing?" she asked.
"It was eating some water plants mom and some fishes were swimming along it's shell." said William. "Why do you think the fishes do that daddy?" he asked.
"Uh well, maybe they feel safer there because the turtle's shell is hard and they use it for their protection." said Leonard.
"I think you're right dad." William said.
"What else did you and your grandparents do?" asked Leonard.
"Me and grandma buried grandpa in the sand with only his head sticking out!" said William making the grandparents laugh. "And me and grandma built a big sand castle against grandpa, but his castle just collapsed. It was so funny mommy!" said William.
"It collapsed because you cheated and kicked it on one corner!" said Wyatt.
"Grandma made me do it!" said William, surprising Susan.
"Hey! I thought that was gonna be our secret?" Susan said.
"I'm sorry grandma. I panicked." said William making the adults laugh.
Leonard and Penny was glad that their son enjoyed spending the whole day with his grandparents. Suddenly, Sarah cried from her crib, being woken up by the lively conversation in the living room. Susan went over and picked up the little princess from her crib.
"Aww, come here young lady!" said Susan, kissing Sarah on the cheek. "You are so pretty!" she added, rocking the baby in her arms while sitting beside Wyatt.
Wyatt then took Sarah into his arms. Sarah just stared at his grandfather, studying his face while touching his nose. She then grunted, trying to squeeze his face with her tiny hands, surprising ail of them.
"Uh, where did that come from?" Leonard asked, curious at his daughter's reaction.
"Look at that! She gets angry just like her mommy when she was little!" said Wyatt, smiling at his granddaughter.
Sarah the smiled at Wyatt, giggling and laughing as he made funny faces for his granddaughter. Sarah touched his face again and laughed before looking around to her parents and grandma, giving them a lovely smile, obviously playing on their love for her. She screamed and laughed as Wyatt continued to play with her, tickling her side and trying to bounce her on his lap.
"I hope you're ready Leonard." said Wyatt.
"Ready for what?" asked Leonard.
"Well, you already have your hands full with Penny. Now you have two of them!" Wyatt said, referring to the little girl.
"Wow, thanks a lot dad!" Penny said sarcastically making Susan laugh.
"You're welcome slugger!" Wyatt said making Leonard laugh.
"Don't worry Wyatt, I've been with Penny for many years now, I think I'm already used to her charming personality." Leonard said, piling up on what Wyatt said.
"You really want to get hurt huh!?" Penny told her husband.
Leonard pulled her close and kissed her cheek. "I love you so much!" he said, trying to calm her down.
Penny wiggled herself out of her husband's grip and went to take Sarah from Wyatt. "Come on sweetheart, let's get you something to eat." she said as Sarah laughed, happy to be with her mommy again.

Later that night, Penny laid her head on Leonard's shoulder while playing with his chest hair.
"That was fun right?" said Leonard.
"Uh huh." uttered Penny. "You're lucky you did a good job or you'll be nursing a black eye right now." she said absently.
"What did I do now?" Leonard asked.
"Really? You and dad piling it on me doesn't ring any bells?" she said looking at him.
"Oh that?" he said smiling. "I'm only joking honey." he added, kissing her cheek.
"Hmm...I'm sure you were." she said. "Hey, that equation you were doodling on your board, what's that about?" she asked.
"It's just an idea that came to me when I was changing Sarah's diaper." he said.
Penny looked at him, slightly amused. "Is that true or are you saying that just to impress me and get lucky again?" she asked.
Leonard laughed a bit, kissing her again. "It's true honey. I'm not making this up!" he said.
"So you're telling me that you've got your hands full with your work at the office, your family, our new baby and you still manage to come up with another scientific idea on the side?" asked Penny.
"What can I say?" said Leonard. "I mean, it came to me and then we had sex twice this morning which pumped so much endorphins into my brain, making me more focused and relaxed." he added.
Penny bit her lip and kissed her husband. "You are so amazing! Are you gonna ask me if I want another round?" she said, teasing Leonard.
Leonard quickly moved on top and held her hands as Penny didn't resist, letting Leonard do as he pleased, knowing that her husband would do everything to satisfy her as they kiss and make love under the covers again.
