Authors Note: From my last update, I fell into a funk. So this chapter is a tad shorter then my usual chapters and on the tame side…. Ish. Anyways I hope you all enjoy cause my next chapter will be on the untamed side.
Warnings: Fluff, OOC-ness, maybe misspelling and basically domestic.
Chapter: All in the family
All in all, the day went great for everyone.
Haku gave Sakura permission to borrow his camera for as long as they stayed in the village, which made Sakura squeal and tackle Haku in excitement. Sakura promised to take good care of his camera and that she can purchase her own memory card so he doesn't have to give his away.
Naruto and Sasuke took turns picking a movie and switching places where one would sit in Zabuza's lap and the other would sit with Zabuza's arm wrapped around them on his other side.
When lunch came, Sakura and Haku volunteered to make sandwiches and a hearty chili soup that had all the boys stomach growling from the smell. After filling their stomachs, Zabuza spread out on the couch on his side with Naruto tucked in his arms and Sasuke on his back. Neither cared for the clicking from Sakura's borrowed camera, Haku promising to make copies for her when she gets a new card.
As the boys fell asleep for a quick nap, Haku suggested that he and Sakura walk down to the market to pick up things they'll need for dinner that night, and of course take her to the store for a new card. Haku also suggested to bring the camera so he can print out the photo for her at the same store.
The market place was bustling, now that the threat of Gato is all up in flames, the vendors and peoples became more at ease with their business and shopping without being threatening for payments of 'protection'. Sakura and Haku debated on what to make for dinner as they made their way to a store that Haku knew and went to the self-print corner of the store while Sakura browsed the displays in search of the right card, taking in the account of how much longer they'll stay and the long walk home.
Haku printed out a few copies of the photo (for himself, Zabuza, Sakura and maybe the boys) and Sakura picking the right memory card and purchasing it they left the store and headed to the butcher shop for their meat as they had decided on steak for their dinner. When done, they walked through the few vendors of the marketplace for vegetables and spices to add to their menu but one item caught Sakura's attention as soon as she saw the picture on the container. Picking out the right one, Sakura bought it and stashed in at the bottom of their grocery bag, Haku curiosity was peaked and asked her about it, Sakura said she'll explain when they start on dinner.
Shrugging, they left the marketplace and made their way back to the apartment where, when they open the door they saw that the boys haven't woke up or moved from their positions. Putting everything away and Sakura stashing the item behind some dry good in the cupboard, they sat down on the couch and after some discussing, Haku picked a movie. Sitting back down and leaning back on the arm rest, Haku told Sakura to sit in front of him so he can braid her hair which she quietly squealed and ran to the room where her pack is for her hairbrush and ran back, plopping down in front of Haku on the couch and handed him the brush.
As Haku brushed her hair, they talked about the movie and how they both adore rom com movies, Haku explaining how he keeps a stash of those movies behind the ones that Zabuza collected, thinking he hasn't seen them yet.
"I knew you were into those" a voice startled them and they turned to see Zabuza looking at them with amusement in his eyes. Naruto blinked his eyes at being woken up and looked to the tv, squinching his face.
"That wasn't on before"
Sasuke woke up from Zabuza shaking from quiet laughter and yawned, stretching out on the back of the tall man before lifting himself up. Standing and giving one last yawn, he excused himself to go to the bathroom. Naruto stretched too as Zabuza got up and went to the other bathroom. Naruto sat up, rubbed his head and stared at the tv then at the two sitting on the other couch as Haku started on braiding Sakura's hair from the top of her head. Getting up, Naruto yawned and went to sit behind Haku on the arm rest and started running his hands through the boy's hair who jumped at the touch but relaxed and went back to discussing the movie with Sakura.
When both bathroom doors opened, they saw all three on the couch and Sasuke shrugged as he went to the kitchen for a bottle of water while Zabuza leaned against the wall and watched the three.
As Haku tied off Sakura's hair, Naruto tapped his shoulder and Haku handed over a hair tie without looking back while Zabuza disappeared and reappeared only to tap Naruto's shoulder. The blonde held his hand out without looking and put them in his mouth as he twisted and turn Haku's hair. Placing hair pins to secure the hair, fluffing here and there, pulling a loose strand and a couple more things before finally the blonde was satisfied.
Zabuza stepped forward behind the blonde as Sasuke stood by him and they all watched as Sakura and Haku turned to each other, each gasping and quietly squealing.
"I love your hair!" they said at the same time. Zabuza rubbed Naruto's hair who puffed up his chest in pride and as the two chatted about their hair, Sasuke wrapped his arm around Naruto's neck making the blonde turn his head and receive a kiss. Ending the kiss, Sasuke connected their foreheads and smiled at his blonde
"Good job, dobe"
"Thanks teme"
"So cute" Zabuza said before picking up both boys and sat back down on the couch with them on his lap as Naruto giggled.
Ignoring the movie, Sakura and Haku told about their day in town, Sakura withholding information on the item which Haku went along with. Taking out the camera, and unopen package of the new memory card, Sakura went and sat on Naruto's side to show him how it works. Haku sat beside Sasuke and leaned into his back as an arm wrapped around his waist, holding him close and as they all got comfortable Haku closed his eyes. Sasuke already had an arm behind Zabuza and his head laid on his shoulders and as Haku got comfortable on his back, Sasuke breath hitched quietly, turned his head to see Haku's and smiled before he too closed his eyes.
Naruto noticed before Sakura as she showed him how to use the camera and after nudging her and gesturing with his head to the resting duo, Sakura quietly stood, walking backwards and shuffled from spot to spot, angle to angle until just the right moment.
Click, Click, Click.
Naruto beamed when Sakura gave a thumbs up on the photo and sat back beside him, showing him how to do a playback to review the photo, which they both almost gave a loud squeal then clamped a hand over their mouths. All turning to the duo and seeing no movement they sighed, Sakura and Naruto showed Zabuza the photo.
"Print me copies" was all he said as he relaxed back against the couch. Taking the camera and setting it aside, Sakura leaned up against Naruto's back, swung her legs over the arm rest and picked up the remote to rewind the movie, wanting to see what was missed during their talks. As the movie played, Zabuza's hands were on both boys waist rubbing his thumb in small circles into the fabric of their shirt and after a while, his hands inched lower to their hips where their shirt had ridden up just a bit but it was enough for Zabuza to feel their skins and kept his hands there throughout the movie.
Neither boys minded.

During making dinner Haku and Sakura started on the sides as Zabuza busied himself with the steaks on a flat grill over the oven burners: adding spices the two got from the market while the boys played cards in the living room. They argued for a good 10 minutes on what to play before Sakura suggested a game of 'go fish' that had the boy quieted down and agreed. No blood was spilt, no punches thrown and no seething dark haired teen grinding his teeth so all was well as the other three worked on dinner. When Haku and Sakura finished their end, Zabuza dismissed them to the living room and they joined the boys in their little game.
The tv was playing in the background on a weather channel just to have some background noise other than the four talking. Zabuza watched from the kitchen when his attention wasn't on the meat cooking, with a little smile.
A series of knocks interrupted all and silence came as everyone looked at each other confused.
"You expecting anyone, Zabuza-san?" Sakura asked.
"Why is Kakashi-sensei here?" Naruto answered instead then made a face "And he smells like a liquor store"
Haku and Sakura scoffed. Zabuza put the heat on low and made his way to the door, opening it to reveal their Jonin leaning up against the door frame.
"You know" Kakashi started with a finger in the air "I didn't" hiccup "I didn't really need to know" burp "Didn't need to know where you lived" he pointed a finger to the other adult "I just needed to follow that little cutie right there" finger now pointing to the group on the floor "And where I find him" finger again back at Zabuza "I find you" and giggled.
Zabuza blinked for a second at the giggling Jonin then took his arm. Kakashi took one step over the threshold before falling over into Zabuza's arms who caught him and made him giggle some more.
The boys stood to help but Zabuza waved them off, lifting the Jonin bridal style that had said Jonin squealing while wrapping his arms around Zabuza's neck.
"How many did you have to drink, Kakashi" Zabuza asked as he adjusted his hold on the Jonin now giggling into his neck and closed the door after he stepped back in the room.
"I dunno, a lot" laying his head on a shoulder, Kakashi sighed "I'm tired now" and went limp.
Sigh "Boys, help me get him settled in my room"
Naruto and Sasuke nodded and followed the other adult into his room. Zabuza pointed to a couple mattresses in the corner and some extra bedding for it. When done, Zabuza took the sleeping passed out Jonin on the bed and started on removing the shoes and vest.
"You know what this means, right?" Zabuza said quietly to the boys. Naruto sighed and nodded but Sasuke crossed his arms and huffed.
"Can't catch a break, can we" Sasuke said as he went to stand near the door, his blonde following him and patted his shoulder while keeping his snickering to himself.
Zabuza smiled and threw a blanket over the sleeping Jonin before turning around and kneeling behind the teens, a hand on Naruto's shoulder and an arm wrapped around Sasuke middle, nuzzling into his neck.
"I know" a peck on the back of the neck before standing back up and nudging the boys out
"Come on, food almost done" they left the room, Zabuza closed the door and went to the kitchen as the boys sat back down in the living room and resumed their game.
"That was unexpected, Kakashi showing up" Sakura said as she dealt the cards when everyone settled.
"And which cutie was he talking about?" Haku said smiling at the three, already knowing who it was.
"I bet it was Naruto" Sakura added.
Sasuke snorted then ruffled Naruto's hair "Of course it was"
Naruto waved him off but didn't comment on it.

When the food was almost done, Sakura stood and said she'll help Zabuza. The other three nodded, not paying attention but Zabuza raised a brow in question to the pink one when she came in the kitchen and took a small pot and filled it with water. Sakura smiled and brought a finger to her lips, putting the pot over a burner and turning on the heat before grabbing some plates and utensils.
Grabbing the item discreetly when the water boiled, she opened the lid and added the seasoning before putting it in the sink and carefully taking the pot of boil water over and poured into the cup. Grabbing a smaller plate, she placed it on top of the cup to seal in the heat and then helped Zabuza with the last bit of everything, smiling up when Zabuza patted her head.
When it was announced the food was ready, Sakura stood in front of the sink to hide the item as everyone came to grab a plate but Zabuza nudged her away and took her place saying that they should all get a plate first before him. Once all plates were filled, they picked a spot at the dinner table: Haku and Sakura sat on one side while the boys sat on the other leaving the head of the table for Zabuza who was filling a plate. Once he sat down, Sakura stood and went to the sink, took the plate off the cup and carefully brought it to the boys side of the table. The boys didn't noticed at first until Sakura set the cup down on the table in front of Naruto whose eyes widen first then gasped.
"Ramen! Sakura!" Naruto launched himself at his pink haired team mate, picking her up and twirling around as Naruto repeatedly thanked her. Sakura, Sasuke and Haku laughed as Zabuza just smiled and when Naruto set Sakura down but continued to hug her and thank her.
"I haven't had ramen in forever! Thank You!" Sakura smiled and patted Naruto on the back when he finally let her go.
"And it's your favorite: Miso pork but without the added extra" She said sheepishly but Naruto just shook his head and hugged her again.
"It's still ramen and Thank you so much!" letting her go, Naruto sat back down and dived right in the noodles, groaning at the missed taste. Sasuke patted Naruto on his leg before started on his food, as did everyone else after giving a smile to the slurping smiling blonde at the table.
Halfway through, Zabuza cleared this throat and all stopped their movement to give the man their attention.
"While we eat, we can discuss who sleep where. With the unexpected drop in of the drunken scarecrow" Naruto giggled "and him taking over half my room, I don't really fancy seeing you boys falling asleep with the smell of booze in the air" Both boys shook their heads in agreement "But as luck would have it, that couch pulls out to a bed"
"I'm bunking in Haku's room, he doesn't mind"
"I don't mind" Haku repeated.
"Then it's settled: Sakura with Haku, the boys in the living room and I'll keep Kakashi's stink to himself" Naruto laughed while the rest nodded, smiling at the blonde's antics.
When dinner was finished, the boys shooed them all away to let them clean the kitchen, feeling restless now that they practically did nothing the entire day and knowing there'd be no night time activity, they had to let off the excess energy somehow.
Speaking of which, Haku told Sakura to look through their collection and pick something out that they all would enjoy and sat down beside Zabuza, giving the adult a knowing look that Zabuza smirked at.
"I know what you were planning for tonight" Haku whispered so low that only his lips moved but he knew Zabuza heard him when he nodded "Too bad though, I would of enjoyed hearing them" Zabuza's brow lifted in question as he gestured to the girl in front of the tv "Oh, you know my techniques, she would have been out like a light the second her head hit the pillow" Haku waved off the comment.
Zabuza scoffed, knowing full well Haku's techniques would render the girl comatose for the remainder of the night if he really wanted to. Bringing a hand to tug at a loose strand of hair, Zabuza leaned in to Haku's ear,
"Keep that in mind next sleep over, I'd like to make the dark one scream while his blonde watches and no one is going to cockblock me again" and give Haku a peck on the cheek.
"Noted" and stood to sit on the other couch when Sakura popped in the movie and went to sit down.
Unbeknownst to the living room, Naruto hid a smile as he dried a dish.

The smell of strong coffee woke up the slumbering blonde from laying on the back of his bedmate, legs tangled under the sheets and one hand being held to their chest as the blonde's arm was being used as a pillow. One more deep breath of coffee air, Naruto removed himself carefully from Sasuke's form and sat up, stretching his arms over his head and giving one last yawn, Naruto looked to the hunch form of grey hair on the dining table.
Standing up Naruto went to the hunch form and smirked as he saw Kakashi cradling his head with one hand and the other nursing a cup of untouched coffee.
Flicking an ear and making the Jonin flinch, Kakashi moaned into his hand in anguish at the sudden movement and Naruto giggled, going to the kitchen for a cup. Pouring coffee and adding the sugar and milk, Naruto sat across from his Jonin mixing his cup. Taking a sip, Naruto smiled
"Rough night?" Silence
"We have work today" Silence
"Are you going to be sick?" Silence so Naruto took a sip and stared at the man across from him. They stayed like that until Naruto almost finished his coffee and Sakura woke up, coming out of Haku's room with a bundle of clean clothes and toiletries. Seeing the Jonin, Sakura smirked and went behind the man only to poke his head that resulted in Kakashi flinching and moaning again in his hands.
"Serves you right, Kakashi-sensei. Next time only consume half of what you had last night" Sakura turned away and headed to the bathroom for a shower. Naruto smiled after her and finished his coffee, standing up to wash out his cup, Naruto went to his pack by the pullout bed and took out clean clothes. Without a word, the blonde went to the other bathroom for a quick shower, knowing that the sounds will wake up Sasuke and they needed to go to get back to Tazuna's house for work.
As predicted, Sasuke woke up when he went to grab for the blonde but finding nothing opened his eyes to see the brightness and no Naruto. Sitting up and rubbing his eyes, Sasuke looked around and saw the slumped form of their sensei at the table, giving a smirk to the back of the man. Getting up and stretching Sasuke went to the table and sat down across from the Jonin.
"You must be miserable" a hand waved dismissively.
Sasuke smiled then got up and went to the kitchen, opening the fridge and taking out fruit for their light breakfast. As he was cutting, he kept throwing smirks at the slump form on the table and he heard the quiet words:
"Never again" which earned a chuckle from the teen.
Placing the plates on the table is when Naruto emerged from the bathroom, a flow of steam following him as he went to his pack and stuffed his sleep wear in before taking a seat at the table. Sasuke watched his blonde for a moment before standing and leaning over, pecking Naruto on his cheek saying good morning. Naruto smiled and watched Sasuke go to his pack for a change of clothes and went to the bathroom.
The click with the lock set, Naruto stood and pick his cup back up from the sink, dried it and poured coffee in, bringing it back to the table. Picking up an empty plate, Naruto filled it with different fruits that he knew Sasuke cut up because their sensei looked like he'd crash to the floor if he tried to stand up and now stifling a giggle, Naruto ate as he watched the Jonin from across the table. Sakura, finished with her morning routine, came out of the bathroom and went to Haku's room for her bag. Dropping it by the boy's pack, Sakura scoffed at their sensi before going to the fridge and taking out a jug of juice to bring to the table along with a cup from the cabinets. Sitting down pouring juice and filling a plate, Sakura smiled at the blonde and greeted him a good morning.
Nodded his own greeting and they ate in silence until Sasuke came back in the main room and stuffed his clothes in his pack before coming to the table and grabbing a plate, saying his good morning to Sakura.
When the table is cleared and the dishes washed, the three picked up their packs and Naruto went to their sensei, tapping him on the shoulder as the other two went to the door. Kakashi, eyes closed and wincing as he slowly stood up, put a hand on Naruto's shoulder to lead him out as he didn't want to open his eyes. Naruto sniffed at that while Sakura and Sasuke scoffed at their sensei display of undignified behavior but kept quiet after. Closing the apartment door behind them and walking down the steps, Kakashi groaned and mumbled 'never again', hissing at the brightness behind his eye lids when they left the building.
On the way, Naruto made sure to keep a good pace so Kakashi doesn't accidently trip on nothing because having to carry their Jonin was not on his to do list this early in the morning. Sakura and Sasuke walked in front, keeping their way clear for the other two behind them and watching the town wake up its business. It wasn't long after that that they reached Tazuna's home where the man himself was just about to head out but stopped when he saw the 4 coming back.
"Good morning!" he cheered with a smile "I hope you all had a relaxing day yesterday"
Kakashi flinched so bad he squeezed Naruto's shoulder and brought his other hand to his head with a whimper that didn't go unnoticed by Tazuna who smirked at the Jonin.
"Ah, someone can't hold their drinks, eh" he said smugly and turned to the Genins "How much he had?"
"Probably the size of a liquor store" Naruto answered and lead the crew in the house.
"So he's pretty much useless today? Ok with me. Just dump him and lets go, it's a beautiful day to work" Tazuna yelled after the kids and their sensei as they went through the house, nodding to Tsuami on their way up the stairs. Each one dropped off their packs by their mats, latched on their pouch with their weights and Naruto carefully sat down Kakashi. Removing his vest, boots and headband, Naruto pushed the unyielding Jonin down on his pillow and threw a blanket over.
"Thanks" was mumbled followed by a snore. Standing up and leading the way out of their room and down the stairs, Closing the front door, they all followed Tazuna to the bridge and got to work: Naruto and Sasuke helped with the heavy lifting since they didn't get to run that morning and Sakura did some leg work in running around doing what the workers asked for.
All was right in their side of the world.
On the other side, not so much.
