A.N. (2/28/21) - Barely before midnight where our month changes to the next.

Persona (45) - Nagi, Nagisa, & Negi

They left immediately after they heard the details.

"Now what?" Nagi looked at the only person that stayed behind, that being his future self.

"We wait," the older Nagi simply said. "You're not strong enough to fight with them, and it is not my place to join them either."

"How come?"

He didn't get an answer to that, his future self being strangely quiet compared to his other future self.

"So… what do you think about Nagisa?"

That got him to react. "What?"

"Your name," he replied. "The other future-me and I decided we needed different names to differentiate ourselves. He decided to go by Negi Nishizawa, and we need something to call you other than Nagi."

The newly-dubbed Nagisa sighed. "Fine, I guess it's a better name than nothing."

Nagi hummed at that. "Do you think you'll need a last name too?"

"Not really."

"I'm thinking… Springfield."

Nagisa got up and began to walk away.

"Hey," Nagi got up and began to follow him. "Where are you going?"

"I'm going to look for Elizabeth. She left before the rest of S.E.E.S. did while I was distracted. I have a few questions for her."

"Like what?"

He got no response.

Nagi frowned. Something was wrong with his future self. It was like his mind was constantly elsewhere.

"You know, it might help if you tell me what you're thinking. I might be able to help out if you do."

Nagisa stopped and turned around, his face complicated. "Look, I'm sorry that I'm not being responsive. But a lot of things happened recently and I've been in a bad mood."

A bad mood?

"Wait, does this have something to do with why Ken isn't here?! Did he die!?"

He looked shocked at that. "N-No! Ken's not dead, he's not even part of the team."

Huh?

"How come?"

Nagisa hesitated for a moment. "I changed things, in the past. I saved his Mom from being killed."

"Really?!"

"Yes," Nagisa answered. "But can we please not talk now. I really want to ask Elizabeth some questions. Preferably alone."

The dismissal was clear. "O-Oh, okay then. Sorry to bother you."

The other boy sighed again. "We'll talk later if you want. But I need to speak with Elizabeth now."

Nagi nodded and watched as his future-self left.

Now that he was by himself, Nagi finally realized how useless he was in this situation.

Everyone else was out there fighting, while he was stuck wandering around here because he wasn't powerful enough to join them. The only other person who wasn't fighting were the Velvet Attendants, his future self, and Takuto.

So Nagi found himself looking for Takuto to see what he was doing.

"Are you making lunch?"

The other boy looked up from the boiling pot he was stirring. "Is that what time it is? I thought I was making dinner."

Nagi shrugged his shoulders at that. "It's kinda hard to tell how much time is passing by here. For all we know, it could be breakfast." He took a sniff of the air. "Curry?"

"I found some curry packets in one of the classrooms," Takuto replied. "Quite a bit too, so it should be enough to feed the fourteen of us."

Fourteen? "Ah, that might be a problem."

"How so?"

"Well, it looks like another group of people was summoned with us." He got wide eyes from Takuto at that admission. "Let's see… adding the Velvet Residents… all the members from S.E.E.S. and we should have about… twenty-seven people in total."

"That much?!" Takuto's eyes were bulging at that. "That's almost double what we had before." He took a look at the pot in front of him. "I don't think we have enough food."

"The stalls are still selling festival food," Nagi answered. "Shadows drop cash, so we can pay for some dishes if we need to. We can figure out the food situation tomorrow."

"You're kidding, right?" He waited for Nagi to respond. "You're serious, the monsters actually drop money?! How does that even work?"

"I honestly have no idea."

The other boy threw his hands up in the air. "This entire situation is impossible."

That got a laugh out of Nagi. "Yeah, I'm already somewhat used to this. And even I'm having trouble believing any of this is real."

"Oh, you're one to talk." A cheeky grin was on Takuto's face. "It sure was nice to find out that my best friend was actually working for Phantom Dark. That sure was a surprise."

"How'd you learn that?"

"Future-you told me," he replied. "It was before we met up with you."

"Ah, about that…" he started. "There's another future-version of me going around now. He's part of the new group that was summoned."

Takuto gave him an incredulous look. "There's another future you?"

"I'm naming him Nagisa Springfield."

Takuto just shook his head at that. "Nagi, your life is sooo weird."

He sighed at that. "Don't I know it."

The two of them were still working on making enough food when the Persona-users finally came back.

"Hey, what's up?!" Negi gave a cheerful wave towards them. "Heard that there's two younger me's now."

Nagi sighed at that. "Yeah, he's busy talking to Elizabeth. Basically ignored me when he went off to look for her."

"Ah," and Nagi's face turned awkward at that. "He's… going through a rough patch now. College life will do that to you?"

"Really? What school did we get into?"

"Lagoon University," Negi answered as he sat down. "Same place Hiwatari graduated from. I thought about Tokyo University, but Lagoon had better online course options. I graduated a little less than a year ago, so the other-us should still be working on his education."

It was kinda weird hearing about his future self talking about graduation, considering that they died before they completed their education in their first life.

"So, what was it like meeting up with S.E.E.S. again?"

Negi laughed out loud at that. "Oh, man. You should've seen everyone's faces. They just suddenly appeared out of nowhere, and Kochan was just like 'We'll take it from here.' right before she summoned Orpheus."

"Kochan?"

"Kotone," Negi clarified. "You'll like her, she's a real blast."

"We're back," Yu announced as he walked back with Kotone walking next to him. "We just checked out the Velvet Room. We think that if we defeat several more powerful Shadow Bosses, we'll be able to unlock the strange doors in there and return to our own timelines."

Takuto sighed at that. "Well, that's a relief."

"But it looks like that will take a while," Kotone added. "It looks like we might be here for at least a few days, maybe a week at this rate. So we'll need to prepare for an extended stay."

"Takuto and I were busy securing food supplies," Nagi said. "Some of that might be festival food until we find something healthier, but we should be good on that front."

"I found us a couple of showers in the locker rooms," Negi added. "So hygiene shouldn't be an issue either."

"Great," Yu sighed. "Well, I'll let the others know about our situation. We've already introduced most of us to each other, but we should have a proper meeting later to let everyone know about the situation."

"Yup, what he said." Kotone gave a mischievous grin. "And I'm kinda interested in seeing all three Nagi's meet together."

Both of them winced.

"That's…"

"He's…"

They looked at each other at that.

"...well, maybe he's in a better mood?"

"Let's hope so."

Nagi slowly followed everyone else as all of their respective groups began to join up. He didn't know how exactly he was supposed to feel about that, considering that he supposedly gets to know everyone else at some point in his life.

So for now, he stayed back with Rei and Zen since they were the least likely to know any of the other Nagi's.

"Hey, how was the labyrinth?"

Rei didn't answer, so Zen spoke for them. "We managed to find a clue to our missing memories."

"Really?"

"Yes," he replied. "I remember now, I had a mission. It was something important, but I still can't quite figure out what it's supposed to be."

"At least you got something." Nagi turned to the other person there. "What about you, Rei? Did you manage to remember anything?"

She shook her head sadly. "No, I didn't…"

But something looked like it was bothering her.

Zen took that moment to speak. "By the way, I did recall something I thought you might know."

"Really? What is it?"

"You should not be possible."

Nagi blinked at that. "Sorry, what?"

Zen repeated what he said. "The moment I looked at you, and at your future self, that was what came to my mind. That single thought overrode any other thought I had. I don't know what it means, but I thought you might have a clue."

Nagi gave him a confused look. "I'm not sure what that might mean either."

But why was he feeling this horrible sense of dread?

Took a while to write this, it took me a while to figure out how I wanted Nagisa to act.

Yup, now we have names for all three Nagi's. Nagi is the youngest brother, Nagisa is the moody one, and Negi's the cool older bro.
