Chapter 46: not your fault

Later that day after Sir Nighteye dismissed them for the day Izumi walked all the way back to the U.A. Campus and immediately called All Might.

"Hm? Oh Young Midoirya, how was your internship today?"

"... I need to talk to you now."

"Oh boy, alright where are you?"

"I'm at the entrance of U.A."

"ok then meet me at the park in front of the Dorms." Izumi then started walking but as she went there she started thinking about Eri again and how she was looked so hurt and pitiful. the thought of what Overhaul might be doing to her made her sick to her stomach and she even started crying again. but eventually she made it to the park area in front of the dorms and saw All Might jogging to her, when he caught up with her he then started panting like crazy because he was out of breath. Izumi just stood there with tears still in her eyes while All Might was trying to get his breath but then he suddenly buffed up.

"I AM HERE, YOUNG MIDORIYA!"

"WAAAAH!" Izumi however wasn't expecting it and screamed while falling to the floor out of fright.

"ah! *sigh* seriously kid? I was right in front of you that time, how could you end up-?" just then All Might noticed how Izumi was in her dark form as well as the the tears in her eyes.

"Y- Young Midoriya? Izumi, what's wrong?" Izumi then got up and cleaned the dust off of her uniform but then she started trembling and then she hugged All Might and started crying even harder. All Might then patted her back with once hand and patted her head with the other to try to comfort her, damn it, this is all my fault, All Might thought to himself in shame I knew Nighteye wasn't going to accept her easily but I didn't think he would actually make her cry. I should have just swallowed my shame and talked to him directly.

"*sigh* its ok kid, its not your fault."

"no it is! I don't deserve One for All! I'm a failure!"

"geez kid, just because Sir Nighteye disapproves of you doesn't mean-"

"I don't give a shit about that!" All Might was now both confused and shocked confused because he really thought the problem was Sir Nighteye's disapproval and shocked at Izumi cursing like a young gangster.

"there- there was this girl on our patrol that day, a Yakuza leader's daughter, he was abusing her and tried to pass it off as discipline, it was fucking sick! he was her father and he treated her like a doll that can be easily thrown away!" without knowing it Izumi was using One for All and as she was frailing her arms around in anger she was releasing the energy of One for All which made All Might feel like he was in a weird earthquake.

"uh, Young Midoriya please calm down-"

"she had such fear in her eyes! and he just acted like it was all normal that fucking bastard! I know it's wrong, I know we had no proof, I know I could lose my license for it but damn it, she needed help! I could have done something! I could have saved her but I did nothing! *sobbing* ... now she's back into that monster's grasp and its all my fault." Izumi then finally wiped the tears off of her face and looked at All Might with pure sadness.

"I know you told me to stop doubting myself and as the one you chose to be the next symbol of peace, I've been trying to live you to your expectations but I think Sir Nighteye might be right, Mirio is a better choice for One for All."

"... young Midoriya, if you give Mirio One for All, you will die."

"w- what?"

"that healing that is kept you from dying is part of One for All, your body was damaged long before you had One for All. if you give it to Mirio then your body will fall apart again." Izumi then thought about this but quickly thought of it as a small price to pay but before she could say anything All Might held his hand to tell her to stay quite.

"I know what your about to say, and you think you're being selfless but your actually being selfish, not just to me but to your mother as well." Izumi was then shocked once again when filled with agony she forgot about those she cared about the most and she hated herself for it.

"I promised your mother I would look after you and keep you safe, now that I'm not the number one hero anymore I can't do much but I can at least guide you on the right path and let me tell you that the one your thinking of walking on will not lead to the best outcome just more unnecessary suffering."

"b- but then what else can I do?"

"*sigh* geez kid, cut it out will you?" All Might then chopped her on the head, which was hard enough to actually make her react, she even started to tear up like a child who believed they did nothing wrong.

"don't give me that look! your too young to be risking your life for such things and despite how admirable I find your resolve. its like your a worse version of me at your age!" Izumi was about to protest but it was all too clear that he was right and that she was way to careless about her own well being when it came to helping others, so instead she just looked to the floor in shame.

"... sorry All Might I guess I just really like to live by your quote a true hero always risks themselves to save others."

"... of all my quotes that's the one you chose to live by? *sigh* suddenly it all makes sense. listen kid, I get it there's someone in front of you want to save but given the limitation you have you just can't, but that won't stop you from wanting to save them no matter what. but as thought as it is you need to consider the consequences, if you just focus on how good the end result will be you'll never notice how much pain you'll have to go through to get there, in the end you may end up losing so much that the end result won't even be worth it anymore. so in other words, don't make the same mistake I did." All Might then patted the scar on his stomach.

"you may think that losing your life is worth saving those you love and defeating those that are evil but trust me, its not... "

"... your right, I'm sorry All Might."

"you should be, you honestly have no idea how heartbreaking it is for me to hear you talking like your life is worthless. its just makes me want to save you even more like when on-" All Might then stopped himself before saying something he really shouldn't tell Izumi.

"All Might?" All Might then looked at Izumi while sweating nervously I have to tell her eventually, should it be now? what am I saying?! of course not! she just had a meltdown she does not need another!

"ahem, sorry I am fine Young Midoriya but I am confused, is that risking yourself for that little girl really all that's bothering you? what about Sir Nighteye?"

"well yeah I was pretty annoyed about Sir Nighteye but I felt that the girl was more important, I want to save her so much that honestly what Sir Nighteye said about Mirio being more worthy than me just made sense. he did stop me from saving the girl but he was more level headed about the situation, it makes me believe what Sir Nighteye said."

"hm, and what did he say to you?"

"um, well... he said I was unworthy of One for All, lacked a sense of humor, and I should give One for All to Mirio instead."

"... *sigh* exactly what I expected, damn it Nighteye your way to harsh when it comes to selection."

"well I mean, have you meet Mirio? he's not a bad choice All Might." All Might then glared at Izumi which actually scared her a little.

"ah! I'm just saying!"

"that's not the issue kid, does Nighteye even know that you were dying before you had One for All?"

"I'm not sure he would care."

"you didn't tell him?"

"he accused me of hiding behind your name when I asked him what you would think, he would have just thought I was making excuses. I mean he did eventually accept me into his work study but he still insisted I convince you to let me give Mirio One for All."

"seriously?! like hell I would say yes to that! I chose you for a reason! if I was to say no that would just make me an idiot." All Might faced Izumi with determination but deep down he felt that what he said was somewhat hypocritical, and at best the whining of a selfish child.

"... hm, now that we're on the subject, what exactly happened between you and Sir Nighteye?"

"... *sigh* you know how I got injured by All for One because I was trying to get revenge on him for killing my master right? but before that she and I as well as Gran Torino did our best to stop the global influence of All for One's reign."

"yeah."

"well first off Sir Nighteye was actually fighting with us as well, the reason not many people know about that is because we didn't need any of All for One's goons hunting him or his agency down. but anyways Sir Nighteye was one of the few candidate's my master was originally going to give One for All to."

"wait seriously?!"

"yup its true thought then my master gave me One for All instead even thought I was quirkless, she chose me because despite Nighteye I had, in her own words, a great smile and a funny sense of humor. I was expecting the guy to be mad, but Nighteye actually agreed with her and instead of being the One for All like he was supposed to he vowed to help me become the Symbol of peace. with his Foresight he was able to see so many possibilities for the future, not only could nothing escape his sight because of it but he was always knew exactly how the future would go. in fact it was thanks to him that many of our raids on All for One supporters were successful. however one day when my master found a lead on All for One's location she went on a solo mission to get him, and then never came back.

with his foresight he foresaw us at her funeral and knew from that moment that she was dead which lead me to my blind chase for revenge. After the fight I was badly hurt with a literal hole in my stomach, Sir Nighteye told me it was time to retire and find a successor but if I did that then any All for One supporters as well as the common villain left standing would jump on the opportunity to cause chaos and despair. so rather than retiring I just continued my hero work and fought through the pain. Nighteye was against this because he foresaw that if I kept doing so that I would die." hearing this made Izumi tremble in fear, obviously he wasn't dead but the thought of All Might dying filled her with fear. she felt the exact same way during the All for One vs All Might incident were he nearly came close to death, but then she realized how similar his recklessness was to hers. it was about to make her smile but then she realized that was another example of what he meant when he said he wanted her to be better than him. she now understood better why he said she was being selfish for throwing her life away in order to save others, it was brave but also hypocritical to an extent.

"anyways the last thing he ever said to me was that he refused to watch me die so you know after that we never really spoke again. I went to U.A. to find a successor as well as help train the future generation of heroes. Nighteye on the other hand buried himself in work, we did talk one time about how I finally chose a successor but before I could tell him it was you he told me that he found a student that was a perfect candidate and was quite mad that he wasn't the one chosen... he then hung up after that. so yeah now you know why despite being my sidekick/ best friend a long time ago we aren't on good terms anymore." Izumi was dumbfounded for a moment which left All Might confused but then she couldn't help but snort a little which made All Might even more confused.

"pfft! hmhmhm! ahem! sorry All Might its just that, the fallout of you and Sir Nighteye sounds like a high school couple breaking up after a emotional fight." Izumi then tried to stay silent while smiling cutely but then she busted out laughing and finally reverted back to her normal form while All Might just stood there annoyed. ugh, it was way more serious than that, did you really have to see it that way? ugh whatever at least she's smiling again.

"ANYWAYS, I'm sorry kid for not warning you about Nighteye and about how he demanded that you give One for All to Mirio."

"well he didn't exactly demand it but, he made me do a challenge that if I failed then I would have to convince you to let me give Mirio One for All... and I failed it. he said he liked me as a potential candidate for One for All which is why he accepted my Work study but that was it."

"I see, heh so he saw your potential and gave you a chance despite not meeting his expectations as the next Symbol of Peace, its nice to know that your at least willing to consider alternatives and give others a chance Nighteye, that new for you, I'm proud. well anyways young Midoriya, don't focus too much on what Nighteye wants just remember that One for All is a quirk that can never be passed on forcefully, the current holder must truly want to give it to another but you already know that extent given that you didn't give me One for All back when I asked you to." Izumi then felt a wave of guilt flood back to her, oh so he hasn't forgotten about that, is it bad that I actually did forget it?

"I'm not mad Midoriya, well I kinda am really could have used a boost in that fight, but yeah I understand that a small part of you still wanted to redeem yourself. your still a kid after all so of course you wouldn't want to give up being a hero. but anyways here's my point One for All is yours now, not mine and sure isn't Nighteye's, so the choice is entirely yours on weather One for All belongs to you or Mirio. should you chose Mirio I can't stop you but please bare in mind the consequences before you do." Izumi's gut no longer felt heavy anymore and now she was finally filled with genuine relief and she then stood tall in front of All Might and smiled proudly.

"I understand, All Might. but hey now that you defeated All for One don't you think you guys have the chance to make amends?"

"hm?"

"well I mean Sir Nighteye said that you would die if you kept being a hero but you defeated All for One and am still alive! Sir Nighteye was wrong, you changed fate and survived! so now is a great time to get back together and go on a date- I mean help each other out." Izumi then covered her mouth to hold back her laugher from thinking about how she compared them to a high school couple again. but then Izumi noticed how sad All Might looked and it killed her laugher while filling he with fear.

"A- All Might?"

"I... I don't think I actually escaped my fate just yet."

"w- what? b- b- but you defeated All for One!"

"he may be in prison but he's still alive Young Midoriya, and besides when Nighteye told me I was going to die if I kept being a hero and didn't retire I told him I wasn't afraid since I had defeated All for One at the time, but then he said... thing that would kill me was worse." Izumi's heart skipped a beat, the thought of someone or something worse than All for One was more terrifying than even her darkest nightmares.

"he didn't specify in what way this killer of mine would be worse than All for One but from the look on his face... I would be a fool to take such a thing lightly."

"he didn't tell you what it was?!"

"he said he would if I retired but I never did so he didn't tell me, so you know it could honestly be anything, thought if I had to guess I would say that it would be the League of Villains, or perhaps a simple cold, heh you know because my body is so weak now." All Might was once again trying and failing to make a joke that would make Izumi laugh but she wasn't listening instead she felt afraid at the idea that All Might might end up dying soon and that the cause was either worse that All for One or a death so vile they won't be able to see it coming or even stop it. All Might would normally try to comfort Izumi when she gets scared like this but instead he walked up to her and put his hand on her head, and when she looked up to him with confused watery eyes he smiled slightly.

"see? this is how I and your mother feel when you try to throw your life away for others, what you're tryin to do is brave but not without consequences. I disappoint myself for not practicing this at a younger age but you reap what you sow so that's why I want you to do better than me Young Midoriya. don't throw your life away so easily regardless of the cause or else things will not end well, if you wanna make the future bright you have to live to make it happen first." Izumi was about to cry again but she knew better than to let herself fall apart again so she quickly punched her cheek which actually did shock All Might but then she stood straight in front of him and faced him with a look of serious determination.

"I apologize for my stupid recklessness All Might! I will try harder to become a more responsible and true hero who not only preserves the lives of others but also her own life! I will do this for the Legacy of One for All, and to uphold the title of Symbol of Peace, however in return, I must ask of you a very difficult task." Izumi then bowed to All Might.

"please live! I know its selfish of me to ask this of you despite all you have done for everyone but please no matter what just live! I promise to do everything in my power to help you but please live!"

"... hm, you didn't have to beg Young Midoriya." Izumi then raised her head to All Might in confusion while he stood there with a determined smile on his face just as the sun was setting behind him making his stature look even more heroic.

"I should have died during my first and second encounter with All for One! I should have died when I left the hospital to save lives despite having a hole in my stomach! I should have died every time I tore my body apart to go over my limit! but yet I continue to stand! regardless if its because of the remaining smoking embers of One for All or just will power! I continue to stand and will keep fighting for a better future even if I must fight on with a wooden stick or my fragile fists! I am determined to follow this to the very end! to see Hero society build itself back up! to watch the Leauge of Villains and all the other villain groups fall, and to watch you Young Midoriya become the next true Symbol of Peace!" Izumi's eyes then sparkled in joy she then couldn't help but raise her first in triump and yell in pure joy and determination due to All Might's words. she then ran to All Might in joy and hugged him, he smiled proudly and then hugged her back.

"don't worry kid, I ain't dying that easily, I made a vow to both your mother and myself to stand by your side and help you grow, so I'll always have your back no matter what."

"hm, thanks Dad." All Might was surprised to hear this and then looked at Izumi in shock, she then felt like something was wrong and looked at All Might in confusion.

"All Might? what's wrong?"

"... uh, nothing, oh wow I think its getting late why don't you head back to the dorms I uh- I'm gonna keep exercising for a little while, but remember your life has value as well! don't throw it away even for a noble cause! take care kid!" All Might then waved goodbye and then jogged away, Izumi just stood there confused huh, did I do something weird? oh well I guess he is right, its getting late so I should head back, I'm glad we got excused classes for Work study otherwise I would have way too much homework, not that that's my concern right now.

Izumi then looked up to the sky and remembered everything that happened today, she then reverted back to her dark form but didn't cry instead she had a look of determination as she activated spark at 10% and punched a tree to her left nearly breaking the tree. Eri, I don't know you very well but I do know that you have probably been suffering an absolute hell, I don't know how just yet but I will save you!

the next day Izumi managed to wake up well for finally having a good night sleep and managed to do her morning routine with a clear head and a bright smile on her face. despite all that happened the previous day she was now smiling again and determined to better contribute to the Shie Hassaikai case so that they could find a way to save Eri. she was filled with determination to get the job done, that's right Izumi! no more reckless behavior and no more crying either! just like All Might said I'm not going to just save Eri I'm going to do it while keeping myself alive as well! I need to become the next symbol of peace after all!

"that's right! I'm not going to kill myself!" Izumi then raised his first in triumph but then when she realized that not only did she say that out loud but she was in the dining area of the dorms and everyone was now looking at her in concern.

"uh... I uh... I'm just really excited about work study today." Izumi then sat back down and ate her breakfast while she was as red as a tomato. afterwards when she got her stuff and hero costume case she was about to head out when Sir Nighteye messaged her about a change of plans and that she was to go to a new location for an important meeting. Izumi felt that this was probably going to be a scolding from him about not giving Mirio One for All yet, which made her gut fold with stress at first but then she took a deep breath and cleared her mind. sorry Sir Nighteye but the choice is not yours! Mirio is indeed worthy of One for All as well as the title of Symbol of Peace, which is why should something happen that stops me from becoming a hero I will entrust it to him.

"whew, I hope you can at least count on that!"

"who are you talking to?" Izumi then jumped in fright as she saw Kirishima standing right beside her.

"ah! Ejiro you scared me!"

"and you scared everyone at breakfast today, seriously what was that even about? I'm not going to kill myself? I mean I'm glad but why would you say that in the first place?"

"I guess I was just trying to say that I was going to try to be less reckless from now on and try to be more considerate of my own limits when saving lives."

"heh, a little overdue but better late than never I guess. anyways I'm heading off to my work study too, apparently Fat Gum has an important meeting that I need to attend with him."

"seriously you guys too?" Izumi then turned around and saw Asui and Uraraka were right behind them.

"wait you guys got a message that you had a meeting to attend for your work study hero?"

"yup, that's kinda weird that we all just happened to get an important meeting from our heroes, that's oddly convenient."

"um, would it happen to be at this location?" Izumi then showed her phone to the others and the were instantly shocked.

"what the heck?"

"that's our meeting location?"

"Kirishima you have the same location?"

"yeah! what's going on?"

they all then went to the location with the atmosphere the entire time being filled with awkwardness, confusion, and concern. none of them knew what this meeting was about or was even given a heads up before so this truly came out of nowhere.

"ahem, so uh, what do you guys think this meeting is about?"

"no clue, everything was going well so far during our work study."

"yeah pretty much we even managed to take down a few villains! but nothing out of the ordinary happened or at least nothing Ryukyu brought up. what about you Kirishima?"

"same here, we just encountered some drug trafficking villains and ended up catching them in the end. oh, wait something actually did happen that was out of ordinary. when one of the villains escaped I caught him but he injected himself with a strange drug and suddenly he was super charged." Izumi then looked at Kirishima in trembling fear.

"what do you mean?"

"apparently his gang was selling low quality quirk enhancing drugs."

"what?! I thought those were illegal!"

"they are that's why this guy only had the knock off version, but that just because it was lesser quality doesn't mean it didn't pack a punch. the only flaw it had was that it didn't last as long. but its effects were crazy. you see the guy had a quirk that he could make blades grow out of any part of his body but they were small and pretty weak. but after he took the drugs he ended up growing hundreds of swords out of his body and they were tough as steel, I had to go all out to take him down and even then I only defeated him because Fat Gum got there in time to help me."

"wow that's heavy."

"that's only half of it, after I got back apparently Amajiki lost his quirk after getting hit with a some kind of quirk nullifying bullet." now Asui and Uraraka were looking at Kirishima in horror as well while Izumi turned to her dark form.

"yeah apparently it worked just like Aizawa's erasing quirk, only this was a bullet that was sold on the black market like the quirk enhancing drugs."

"... Shie Hassaikai." they all were now looking at Izumi with concern.

"its a Yakuza group that get their funding through drug trafficking, they supposedly have been abiding by the law as of late but Sir Nighteye had reason to believe that they have been operating in secret. there's even rumors that they specialize in distributing and selling quirk enhancing drugs."

"just like the gang we encountered the other night."

"exactly, so that's probably why we this meeting is happening."

"well it makes that Deku-chan and Kirishima would be called into this since both your heroes were involved but what about me and Tsu-chan? we never encountered any quirk enhanced villains or Yakuza."

"... guess we will find out at the meeting." then the train stopped at their destination and they walked to the building were the meeting was supposed to happen, but then as they entered not only where their heroes there but also a lot of other heroes as well.

"ah! the Work study are finally here, lets head in then so that the meeting can begin."

"w- what?"

"wow! so many heroes!"

"wait what's going on?"

"just shut up and head to the meeting room." then the four of them were shocked to see that Aizawa was there among the heroes.

"we don't know that much either we were just called in by Sir Nighteye, he should explain everything so just be quite and listen to what he has to say."

just like that the meeting started with Uraraka, Asui, and Hado sitting next to Ryukyu, Kirishima and Amajiki next to Fat Gum, and Izumi and Mirio right next to Sir Nighteye who was at the main seat.

"well then now that were all here let get this meeting started, the reason you are all here is because I need help on finding information on the Yakuza group known as Shie Hassakai."

"a Yakuza group? why?"

"Shie Hassakai has been rumored to be responsible for trafficking all sorts of illegal drugs into the black market, especially quirk enhancing drugs."

"do you have any proof of this?"

"not exactly anything concrete just yet, however I have an almost complete picture of what they are doing first off is the one piece of confirmation about their deviancy." Sir Nighteye then grabbed a remote and used it to change the screen behind him which showed the villain Twice entering a car with Overhaul.

"on one of the rare occasions he actually left his base, Kai Chisaki also known by his quirk's name Overhaul, was spotted making contact with Jin Bubaigawara also known as twice, a member of the League of Villains. after finding the location they stopped, an old construction warehouse that has been abandoned for quite some time. However, when we arrived there was quite a lot of damage including two dead bodies one that was withered to dust, later confirmed to be a grunt member of the Chi Hassaikai and another body completely destroyed, later confirmed to be Magne a high class member of the League of Villains."

"so they fought one another?"

"that can prove that Overhaul is a loose cannon and therefore can be arrested but it doesn't exactly prove that he or his clan is responsible for selling quirk enhancing drugs."

"yes I admit that there is no solid proof for that, but unfortunately what we do have is proof of something worse." then everyone in the room either looked at him in confusion or fear.

"don't worry I'm just about to get to that, anyways thanks to the local police we were able to find this." Sir Nighteye then put a red tack looking bullet on the table.

"hey! that's the nullifier bullet those jerks used on Amajiki!" Kirishima couldn't help but stand up suddenly after seeing the bullet but then he realized he shouted suddely in a hero meeting.

"uh, sorry about that."

"geez, I know their work study but is it really a good idea to have kids participate in this meeting?"

"yes, actually because they contributed to the confirmation about my suspicions about Shie Hassaikai yes you are right Ejiro Kirishima, this is the exact same bullet that was used against you and Amajika that night. the fact that they had the same bullet that was found in the warehouse as well as the fact that they were drug dealers shows that Shie Hassaikai is indeed back into their old ways of drug trafficking despite being under new leadership."

"ok that's the confirmation but that just leaves one question, what does the red tack thing do?" Amajiki was now the one who sat up, he looked at all the heroes and was about to tense up but then Kirishima tugged on his uniform and then smiled at him while giving him a thumbs up. Amajiki then closed his eyes and imagined them all as potatoes again and managed to stand straight but still had dread on his face because he had to talk.

"when I was shot with the bullet, I was no longer able to use my quirk, hence why we call it the nullifier bullet, well actually we got that name because the gang who had the bullets called it that. anyways, at first we thought it worked just like Eraserhead's quirk simply erasing a quirk temporarily... these bullets completely destroy a quirk." suddenly the air in the room got extremely heavy.

"yeah after my quirk wouldn't return I went to the hospital and the doctors confirmed that my quirk gene was being directly attack and eaten away by whatever was inside the bullet."

"my god..."

"Amajiki! are you ok?!"

"oh, yes I'm fine now after about an hour I was able to get my quirk back but I felt extremely exhausted both during and a little while after that time span."

"yeah whatever was in that bullet was powerful stuff, there was only a small amount of it but it was more than enough to erase Amajiki's quirk for an entire hour. but with pure luck Kirishima was shot right after he activated his quirk so the bullet deflected off and we managed to find out what was inside. thought if I'm being honest I kinda wish I didn't know... it was human blood." that was more than enough to strike fear and dread into everyone's hearts.

"shit..."

"so that means its the result of someone's quirk, but whose?"

"that brings me to the final subject of todays meeting, in case some of you are unaware, Overhaul has the ability to destroy things and if he desires can rebuild them into something new."

"so you think he's using his own blood?"

"no I think he's doing something more sinister than that, Izumi Midoriya my latest work study as well as the senior work study Mirio encountered a little girl who Overhaul himself claimed to be his daughter. Midoriya can you tell everyone the state Eri was in." Izumi was shocked but she then nodded however before she spoke she turned to her dark form again due to remembering the sadness and fear in Eri's eyes.

"she was in ragged clothing, she looked absolutely terrified of him, and she had bandages all over her arms, the bastard claimed she was sporadic and it was for her own good, to discipline her." Kirishima and Asui were absolutely terrified while Uraraka almost threw up out of disgust.

"... since she is his daughter, it only makes sense that her quirk is similar to his own somehow being able to either create or destroy, and here we have these nullifier bullets filled with blood that can damage and potentially destroy quirks. I don't believe it will require a rocket scientist at this point to figure out what these nullifier bullets are filled with." it should not have been possible but the room was filled with more dread than before, Uraraka then ran to the trash can and actually threw up but no one faulted her for it.

"so wait, these kids saw that girl and did nothing?!" Izumi and Mirio then looked at the hero Lock Down.

"you had the chance to save that girl and you let her slip your grasp! what kind of moron does that?!"

"that's enough Lock Down, don't blame them for not saving the girl, at the time we knew nothing about what Shie Hassaikai was doing, besides I had assigned them to an area that was close to the local base of the Shie Hassaikai. I did this to give them both experience while also not exposing them to danger but instead they were exposed to the twice as much danger. I told Mirio to that if they were to encounter anything that he was to prioritize both his own and Midoriya's safety and to retreat rather than fight. Midoriya even brought up her concern for the girl and desire to save her despite the possible consequences, so if the blame is to go anywhere it should be toward me. but that's going to have to wait, for now lets get down to the purpose of this meeting.

In order to put a halt to Shie Hassaikai's plans we need to find his daughter Eri and save her from his grasp. that is why I need all of your help, since our reconnaissance we have found out that Shie Hassaikai has numerous bases across Japan and have had members of all ranks including Overhaul himself jumping between each one, so I need all of your help to not only find the base where Overhaul and his daughter are but in the upcoming raid where we will take out the Shie Hassaikai and rescue the girl Eri. I am counting on all of you to get the mission done." Sir Nighteye said this loud and clear for everyone to hear but his gaze was upon Mirio and Izumi, Izumi was still in her dark form and clenching her fists in anger but then she noticed that Mirio was shaking in frustration, I know I had to follow Sir Nighteye's orders but Lock Down was right, we had her and we let that monster take her back! if only I did something if only I didn't hold myself or Midoriya back! Izumi then breathed to calm herself down, and then put her hand on his shoulder and smiled as brightly as she could despite being in her dark form.

"we failed Eri once but we won't make the same mistake!" Mirio was confused at first but then his face turned to angry determination and faced Sir Nighteye.

"that's right! we will protect her this time! we won't let her down!"

"hm, good resolve, however if even thought I would like you join the raid when we find the location of Eri and Overhaul, you and the other work study students are to be part of the reserve group. you may have your provisional license but your still students. if everything goes well you shouldn't be involved in Eri's rescue at all." Izumi then felt the need to protest to this but then she remembered her conversation with All Might and instead bowed politely.

"I understand Sir Night. I won't be a reckless brat anymore." Sir Nighteye then raised an eyebrow at her but then smiled for a second before being back to his serious expression, Izumi managed to catch the smile and smiled herself because of it, which allowed her to revert back to her normal form.

"ahem, ok now let us move on to how we will begin this operation but first the work study students should be dismissed." the work study students then all looked at each other and then one by one left the meeting room. Izumi left the room last but as she did she bumped into a police officer.

"ah! I'm so sorry!"

"its quite fine young lady thought I must ask, what are a bunch of U.A. students doing here?"

"oh we were just a part of Sir Nighteye's meeting."

"oh I see, I was actually one of the police officers that found the red tack things, say what do they do by the way?" Izumi looked at the police in shocked and then looked down to the floor in fear as she reverted back to her dark form, which confused the police officer.

"I- I don't think we're allowed to talk about it."

"uh, of course so sorry young lady. but their talking about it right now in that meeting right?"

"uh yes!"

"hm, then I'm sure that no matter how bad it is as long as those heroes work to understand it they will find a way to fix it, and us police officers will be able to help them out!" the police officer then flexed his arm and winked at Izumi to which she laughed a little and reverted back to her normal form.

"hm, what a beautiful smile, keep that up if you wanna be a great charismatic hero." Izumi then looked at the police officer in shock but then smiled in determination and smiled, but then Uraraka called for Izumi and she walked to the group while waving the police officer bye. the police officer then waved goodbye with a smile on his face but then walked away and pulled out his phone.

"... hello? yes the meeting started, let the both the old master know right away, I will notify the young master... yes I handed them the empty nullifier bullet, they'll be able to tie the knots because of it... don't worry I just confirmed the heroes are talking about it right now, Shie Hassaikai has been exposed... yes good, oh and more new for the old master, I ran into his daughter, apparently she and some of her friends at U.A. are going to be apart of the investigation or something... calm down the old master won't kill you over upsetting news just tell him when you get the chance, I'll keep you posted, over and out. heh, now things are getting interesting, hope this becomes a war, now that would be fun."
