Siri sought out Shun to learn the truth about what Promin Academy has been doing. Right when she found him, he was defeated by Soto. When she saw him flying, she hurried over to help him. He was knocked for a loop and it looks like he might be out of it for a while.

"Oh man. I can't lose this guy." Siri said.

"I told you, Shun. You never should have messed with me." Siri turned around to see Soto coming over to finish the job, but he stopped when he spotted Siri and thought it was Zoey. "Zoey? What are you doing?"

"I activate Starlight Blinding!" Siri said as she activated a spell card that generated a blinding light. Soto had to look away and Siri used it as a means to escape. When Soto could see again, he could see that they were gone.

"Was that Zoey?" Soto said as he thought about it. "No. She looked like Zoey, but different at the same time. Could that have been that Siri I was told about? Well, if she is, I'll get two birds with one stone by doing this." With that, Soto began his hunt for both of them.

Zoey

As for Zoey, she was running for her life. She crossed paths with Yuan and thought she could take him. She was wrong. Yuan was much more dangerous than she thought. She knew that if she lost to him, she was going to be taken prisoner. That's why she retreated when it looked like she was losing. She kept running until she reached a small bridge. She decided to take cover under there.

"He's an animal." Zoey said as she was catching her breath. Whatever she went through in that duel really got to her. "I've never met anyone like him."

"Zoey!" Yuan called. Hearing him close scared her. She covered her mouth and tried not to make a sound. "You can't hide from me." He said as he strolled through the streets with a dangerous monster following. "One way or the other, you're coming with me to meet Promin." He was standing right over where Zoey was hiding and it seemed like he found her. "You're mine." It looked like it was game over for her as she was terrified.

"Rini!" They heard someone coming over. They both saw Huo riding on his runner. He zipped by, but was able to pull over near Zoey. When he did, the card Yuan had on his duel disk began to glow.

"What is this?" Yuan said before he just vanished. Zoey came out and saw that he wasn't there anymore.

"Where did he go?" Zoey questioned.

"Rini!" Huo said as he removed his helmet and hurried over to her. He looked happy as he hugged her with Zoey getting flustered. "I finally found you!"

"You got the wrong girl. Let go!" Zoey said as she knocked him off.

"Hey. What was that for Rini?" Huo said.

"Rini?" Zoey questioned as to who that was. It was then that she remembered Yuan mentioned someone with that name. Could it be another girl that looks like her?

"I was really worried about you. By the way, what's with the new hair?" Huo asked. "Why do you look like you don't know me? It's me: Huo." When he said his name, that was when Zoey remembered that Yukin mentioned him.

"Hold on." Zoey said. She was going to explain the situation, but before she could, a card in Huo's deck was glowing. He pulled it out and saw it was Tempest Tenrun.

"What's going on now?" Huo said just before he and Zoey were caught in some sort of light. That light took both of them away and they completely vanished.

Siri

Once Siri got a hold of Shun, she wasn't going to let him go. As she managed them to escape, she had Shun lean on her and tried to get much distance between them and an enemy.

"Come on. Stay with me, buddy." Siri said. Shun was pulling himself together and could see who was helping him. He just thought it was someone else.

"Brui?" Shun said.

"Sorry. You got the wrong girl." Siri said. "Don't worry about that now. We need to find some place to hide before that guy comes back."

"Too late." Siri looked behind her and was shocked to see that Soto was able to find them again so easily. "You were fools to think you could escape from me so easily. There's nowhere to run now."

"You want to take me on?" Siri said. "Bring it on. I'm not scared of you." Siri was ready for a fight, but Soto had other plans. He snapped his fingers and that's when three students from Promin Academy came out of hiding. That could be a problem. "Okay... This could be a different story." Siri can't fight off four of them and protect Shun at the same time. It sure didn't look like Shun was in any condition to duel.

"Not so tough now, are you?" Soto said as it seemed like they were trapped. At that moment. Reese and Lana came out and saw what was going on.

"What's that?" Lana said.

"I'm not sure." Reese said. They tried to get a better look and they spotted Siri, but they believed she was Zoey. "Isn't that Zoey?"

"Except for the hair, it does look like her." Lana said. "Look at those other guys. That's Soto standing there with him. It also looks like that Shun guy isn't in any good condition."

"Oh no. Do you think those are the guys Yukin was talking about?" Reese said.

"If they are, Zoey is in trouble." Lana said.

"We'll see about that." Reese said as he was brave enough to face them. He hurried over and stood in front of Siri and Shun. "Hold on. If you want her, you'll have to get through me first."

"What are you doing?" Siri asked.

"Helping you out." Reese said.

"Makes no difference to us." Soto said. "Get this guy out of the way. Just be sure you spare the girl." The three Promin Academy students activated their duel disks and were about to begin their assault.

The Arena

Everyone was getting annoyed and frustrated. They can't see a thing that might be happening in the battle royale. They all want to know what's happening with all the duelists.

"They still haven't fixed the videos?" Nathan said as he held his second place trophy.

"This is ridiculous. The time limit is almost done." Augustus said.

"What could the problem be?" Eli said. Everyone was annoyed that they couldn't see a thing. Renji and his mother didn't even bother to settle the crowd.

"Time is almost up." Miss Abarin said.

"Yes. Our private video fee is showing that all those who have survived will be gathered together soon enough." Renji said. "With that, I better get going."

"It seems like the time has come for our true motives to be revealed." Miss Abarin said.

"It does." Renji said as he headed out. "It's time for the fun and games to stop."

The Duel

Reese was trying his best to hold off against the students from Promin Academy. It was hard since it was three against one. Reese tried using some of his tactics to rid his opponent's field with monsters, but it was difficult since there were multiple duelists. The three of them had monsters known as Ancient Gear Beast, Ancient Gear Engineer, and Triple Ancient Gear Hunting Hound.

"This is not looking good." Lana said. Soto took steps closer to take Siri and Shun. It looked like this duel was just about over.

"There you are, Soto!" Yukin, Siegrain, and Drewsin arrived on the scene. They saw what was going on and didn't like the looks of this. "Soto! What do you think you're doing?!" Yukin called.

"What's this I hear about you turning people into cards?!" Siegrain called. Soto just ignored them and just kept walking.

"Stop what you're doing!" Drewsin called.

"Soto! Stop this! What are you doing?!" Yukin called, but Soto just kept ignoring them. "Soto! Answer me! Soto!" Yukin was getting annoyed with his behavior. "Soto! Look at me!"

"There! I'm looking!" Soto said as he looked their way. "Now will you just be quiet and get out of here!"

"Not a chance! Stop what you're doing!" Yukin said.

"I don't think so." Soto said as he turned back to the students. "Finish this."

"I will." One of the students said as he took his turn. With how the duel has played, it looks like this is it for Reese.

"Sorry, Yukin. I tried." Reese said.

"I activate Gear Implosion! This spell card will give my Ancient Gear Beast an extra 500atk points for every machine on the field that deals damage when he attacks. Ancient Gear Beast, attack!" His beast went on the attack as its attack points increased by 1500. It slashed against Reese and knocked him down.

"Reese!" Yukin called.

"Oh no!" Drewsin said as he knew what was next. The student didn't waste any time as he activated his duel disk and turned Reese into a card. For those who saw it for the first time, they were all shocked and terrified at what they saw.

'It's true! We've been turning people into cards!' Siri thought. 'How could we do something like this?'

"Now for the rest of them." Soto said.

"Soto, stop!" Yukin demanded. This was looking bad for all of them.

"Never fear! Sylvester is here!" All of them looked up and saw Sylvester as he jumped off a monster and dived right on the street. "If you brutes want to cause trouble in my city, you will have to deal with Sylvester. That's assuming you can."

"Not this clown again." Soto said with annoyance.

"What's Sylvester doing here? He was already taken out of the tournament." Siegrain said.

"That guy is just talk." Soto said. "Simply get him out of the way." The three students readied themselves for another duel.

"Yukin, I see Zoey over there." Siegrain said.

"Go! You try to stop those guys!" Yukin said.

"What about you?" Siegrain questioned.

"I'm going to deal with Soto." Yukin said.

"Go. I'll backup Yukin." Drewsin said. Siegrain agreed and hurried over to stop this insanity. Yukin turned his eyes to Soto. He thought he knew Soto, but he hated that Soto was a part of something like this.

"Get them all. Just be sure to spare the girl." Soto said.

"Soto, that's enough!" Yukin said as he rushed over and stood in front of Soto.

"You just had to meddle, didn't you?" Soto said.

"Soto, you and I are dueling. I'll duel you if it means this insanity has to stop." Yukin said.

"I had a feeling this might happen." Soto said. He looked behind him and saw Drewsin was ready to take him on even if he did had a broken arm. "Let's go somewhere more private. I don't want your friends getting in the way." Yukin followed Soto to ensure their duel wouldn't be disturbed, but Drewsin followed. Soto took Yukin away from the others. They stood facing each other for this duel.

"Soto, what you're doing is wrong." Yukin said as he tried reasoning him.

"Don't try to talk me out of what I'm doing, Yukin. You won't be able to convince me." Soto said. "I'm a man on a mission and you won't be able to stop me."

"Yukin, you can't reason with him, or really anyone from Promin Academy." Drewsin said. "They see dueling as something to be used for war. You need to understand that he isn't the friend you knew."

"You might be right, but I need to do something." Yukin said. "This is pure insanity. It needs to be stopped. If there's really no other way to stop you, Soto, I have no choice except to beat you."

"There's no way you will." Soto said as he held out his duel disk. Yukin held out his as well.

"Here we go!" They said as they were about to begin. What were once friends have now become enemies. Can Yukin stop Soto and persuade him to stop what he's doing or will Soto triumph and continue this sheer destruction through Merge City and else where?
