One minute, Theodore's trying to find answers, next, he's on his knees, trying to rewire the TARDIS and turn it back on, with a torch in his mouth, and the light his only help. He fiddles with things that he doesn't know the names of and how to even translate them to something he can tell Lila. While trying to stick them together, hoping to get sparks, using his Sonic Screwdriver in hopes something happens, and go from there, Theodore kept the torch in his mouth as the light lit up the underside of the TARDIS.
By the time he finished, Theodore realized, he can't get the TARDIS back on from the console room. He has to go to the source and hope he's able to power it on from there.
The Heart of the TARDIS.
Few ever seen it, only those that it authorizes can go inside an area that nobody outside the few authorized knows about. It's hidden enough, nobody's able to find it unless they're authorized and know what they're looking for, which Theodore knows exactly.
Taking the torch out of his mouth as he gets up, Theodore goes down the hallway of the TARDIS, looking for a specific area in the winding hallway of the TARDIS. It'll look like a wall, but in the centre's a wall décor, it looks nothing out of place, so nobody knows they have to use the Sonic Screwdriver with it.
It's like a secondary key and Theodore spots the wall as he flashed light on it. He went towards it and held up his Sonic Screwdriver to the wall décor. Pressing the button, his icy blue eyes watched as the blue light came through the hole of the topper, and the wall opened like a sliding door.
Going inside, there's a distinct air about this particular area of the TARDIS. Should, since there's a reactor.
As is with most technological things, the TARDIS requires tonnes of energy to function, hence the need for a nuclear reactor. Not the one one expected, this one's far more advanced, compact, but still powerful compared to a human made nuclear reactor.
There's darkness as Theodore flashed light walking around, he looked for something he needed, and found a box of the jewels and minerals he and Lila collected from their one of their previous adventures dealing with weeping angels.
Funny name, weeping angels.
They don't cry and they don't cover their faces very often to warrant being called "weeping", makes no sense why that is.
Hm, don't know then.
Going through the box, Theodore grabbed a couple of stones before looking for another box. When he found it, he used his free hand to grab one large round black orb before pushing the heavy box aside.
Locating the striped circular covered chute, Theodore used his foot to open it by giving it a good tap, before he shoved everything down the chute.
Rubbing his hands, Theodore closed the chute and headed towards the controls where he held down a button for a few seconds before pulling on one of the large handles.
He closed his eyes preemptively as he heard the motors in the TARDIS turning on and the room's engulfed in a blue light.
Temporary, this will last, but it's enough for the adventure. Every now again, Theodore has to find material for the nuclear reactor to breakdown into energy. Not effective, but until everything's fixed, it's all Theodore can do.
When it was at its peak, the TARDIS wouldn't need him throwing things down a chute unless it's an emergency.
Sighing, Theodore slowly opened his eyes, letting them readjust to the bright light as the nuclear reactor hummed.
Turning off his torch, he left the room, locked it up, and walked through the lit hallway, but not before checking on Lila.
She's fast asleep, a snore coming from her, and Theodore continued his walk back to the console room.
Upon returning to the console, everything lit up, Theodore checked the monitor, and there's a long line of words as Theodore tried to read them.

Theodore immediately hit a button to scrub the search inquiries as he remained stumped, his arms crossed. Even with the power back on the TARDIS wouldn't search for what he asked it to, which confused him. His attempt sent it in some sort of mantra that he couldn't discern and he wasn't sure what to make of it. He couldn't even understand it as the words starting blurring as he tried to make out whatever the TARDIS wrote out.
With that a failure, Theodore attempted to try his hand again, this time, searching for anything on Professor Stanford, hoping that this time, it won't end similarly.
He did wonder what made the TARDIS act out in that way, but he didn't want to attempt to make it tell him, in fear he has to go through more of the stones and black matter, which he tried to ration as humanly possible. They're not easy to find in bulk and the people they got the black matter from wanted to kill them, so Theodore didn't want to run out of them without lining up another source of black matter.
Hopefully, the people they get the black matter from next time weren't Daleks and amicable to the two's plight with an old TARDIS that barely functions. Theodore doesn't want to explain to Hammond why he couldn't go to work because a Dalek blitzed him with a shot from its eyestock, again.
"Come on, if not that, then what about Professor Stanford, he's up to something, surely," Theodore looked at the monitor as the TARDIS processed the new inquiries.
There's university ran newspaper articles that started popping up about Professor Stanford, they're in order by year, and Theodore read off the headlines as they showed up.
He sees the first one, when Professor Stanford first started working in the university, very procedural, and detailed that he arrived at the university after spending time in colleges elsewhere. Moved up in the education ladder and became a professor, very intriguing.
The second newspaper, dated at least two years after the professor started, he received accreditation for his work, and there he is receiving a handshake from the dean.
The newspapers continued showing up as Theodore read them, until he stopped when there's a newspaper detailing one of the dinners with the alma maters and the trustees. There's a picture, but he found it's not intact as he'd like. In the picture, Professor Stanford, with the others, and one of them's the illusive trustee, standing next to him. Theodore recognized him by the few characteristics Lydia shared about him.
However, his face's completely blurred out, a camera flash covered his entire face, Theodore couldn't look at him.
There's the dark suit like Lydia said, Theodore can see the hands, at least, somewhat pale, but flush. There's rings on them and they weren't obscured, so against the better of himself, Theodore zoomed in on the rings.
Maybe he can't see his face, but Theodore can at least see his rings. Highly doubt someone like the trustee would pay for rings that any man's able to buy, he'd want custom rings. Something no one else's able to have. On the left pinkie on his left hand, the trustee had a class ring, silver band with a purple stone. The design caught Theodore's eyes as he realized it's far more intricate than he took for a class ring.
He couldn't zoom in close enough or else the images blur, so he's only able to look at it from the resolution possible. Theodore moved onto the next ring, on his ring finger, this one's stood out, it looked like a woman's ring more than a band worn by a man. It stood out enough that Theodore had to look at it closely, looking at it intently.
Bronze band with a cut onyx as the centerpiece.
Theodore rationalized it as it belonged to someone the trustee knew, probably a relative, and he forced himself to stop snooping on the trustee. Remaining focused solely on Professor Stanford, Theodore searched for clues with what the TARDIS' able to give him.
Not much to go on, like Lydia said, no complaint, no nothing, nothing to tie Professor Stanford to his supposed crimes.
The police reports of the suicide and accident showed up, allowing Theodore to read them thoroughly, and as Lydia said, one committed suicide because she thought she'd lost her coin and one died trying to reclaim the coin from the lodged wood chipper.
As he looked, he heard movement, and Lila clearing her throat.
Turning his head, Theodore's icy blue eyes lit up as he flashed her his pearly whites.
"How're you feeling?" Theodore asks her as he turned around fully to face her as she rubbed her eyes. Yawning, Lila replied that she felt better, the medicine finally took, and asked what's going on.
Frowning, Theodore told her that he hasn't found anything to incriminate Professor Stanford. Anything he found so far's what he already knows, that's about it.
"Well, I still haven't told you about class, did I?" Lila pointed out that she hadn't told him her end of the investigation.
Nodding as his wild hair bobbed, Theodore replied that, no, Lila didn't. He promptly sent her to bed after learning about her migraine.
He went with her to get some tea and biscuits, he's famished. Peppermint tea and some biscuits to dunk them in, just like his mum did before.
Sitting on the steps with their cups and plates, the two discussed Lila's class.
"It's weird, I remember going to it, but afterwards, it's all a blur," Lila admitted to Theodore as he dunked his biscuit in the peppermint tea before biting into it. He listened to her story on how she remembered leaving the class with a massive migraine and that's it. She doesn't even know what she learnt or didn't and the other students weren't any help, they left silently and didn't respond to her.
With his hand free of the biscuit that's hanging out the side of his mouth, Theodore held his large hand over her forehead, feeling it as he gauged her internal temperature before checking the sides of her neck with his hand switching between.
As he pulled back, he responded, "Well, I didn't feel a fever and you feel normal to me. Did you eat or drink anything?"
Lila harkened back to what she remembered from her class. She got in, sat where she normally sat, the professor comes and sits down. There's no food allowed in the class, but that's standard with all classrooms outside cooking.
"Did you perhaps smell anything?" Theodore continued as he bit into another soaked biscuit.
Shaking her head, Lila replied that she swears she didn't smell anything out of the ordinary. Smelt like a normal classroom to her.
Sitting his teacup and plate down, Theodore wiped his hands on a napkin before looking into Lila's eyes. He said that he'll have a look in her head and see what he can pull out of it, he's confident that he can do it, and Lila shrugs as she told him to stay away from anything personal.
"Of course," Theodore acknowledged her request as he closed his eyes.
