Ch47

It was a nice day and Magnus was having an amazing afternoon with Sadie Kane. They were both walking along the riverside after having eaten some ice cream together. The weather that day was nice, well he had his dad to thank for that. "This was nice I am glad we could to this," Sadie as they walked down while holding each other's hands.

"Y-Yeah it was," he said nervously. He still wasn't used to Sadie getting so close to him, not that he didn't mind. "I'm glad we can hang out; I know we both are busy." Despite it being summer he was busy helping to take out Kronos's forces. Sometimes he worked with the other campers but he often did it with Percy. The two of them recently helped take out a few groups of monsters up north on the Hudson River.

Sadie sighed, "Yeah I know my life has been hectic as well." He looked at Sadie and noticed that she did have bags under her eyes. She claimed that she was busy with some family matters but she wouldn't elaborate so he didn't pry.

"How are things with your family?" He asked as they passed a group of people. He never met her brother but he often heard her complain about how uptight he is.

Sadie rolled her eyes, "He is the same boring self. Busy reading and researching stuff."

"Ah ok I hopefully your family problems get resolved," he said.

Sadie gripped his arm and smiled at him, "Thanks I hope so too." She then smiled at him, "I honestly don't think I'll be able to go to St. Thomas with Rachel and Percy though." She sighed and gave him a sad look, "Its just that with all that's going on I doubt I will be able to go."

"Its alright, me and Percy are actually busy too with other things," he said as he looked up at the sky.

"But thanks for inviting me; I've enjoyed getting to know you and your friends. Rachel and Percy are pretty cool," Sadie said with a smile. "I don't know how to describe it but you and Percy seem different."

He chuckled nervously, "Yeah well I like to think that we are nice."

Sadie laughed and was going to respond when a Pegasus landed right behind him. Sadie jumped and pulled out a glowing stick of some sort. "Magnus stay back," she said seriously.

"Wait I know him," he said to her surprise. He looked up and saw Will Solace on the Pegasus. "He is a friend of mine."

Sadie looked at him and at Will in shock. Will waved sheepishly, "Sorry Magnus but we have to go now, its an emergency."

He looked at Sadie, he didn't know what she was seeing but he noticed the glowing stick thing she was holding looked like it was glowing. "Magnus is that a pegasus?" she asked carefully.

He and Will exchanged an awkward look, "You can see it? You don't see a normal horse?"

"Well I see its bloody wings and saw it land down," she said her eyes wide. "What the bloody hell is going on?"

Will gave him a look as if he wanted to say sorry. He looked at Sadie, "Look I'll explain later I promise but I have to go its important."

To his surprise she didn't appear angry instead she looked relieved, "Haha, well I thought something was odd with you. Are you a magician too?" She asked in a excited tone.

"Magician? No, look I have to go I promise I'll explain everything when things get back to normal," he said felt a strange tension in the air.

Sadie smiled at him, "I understand, good luck with whatever you are doing."

She then hugged him and he hugged her back as he smelled her perfume. Will Solace looked away awkwardly and that was when he heard a voice. "Sadie its an emergency we have to go." He turned around and saw a black kid run up to them. When he saw him he was pretty sure he saw the pegasus as he took out some sort of hooked weapon. "Sadie is that a pegasus?"

Sadie sighed, "This is my brother Carter." She turned to her brother, "I'll explain later Carter," she said rolling her eyes." She looked at him one last time, "Good luck," she said giving him one last hug.

"You too, I don't know what's going on but good luck," he said with a smile. Is she clearsighted too like Rachel? He looked at her and her brother, something felt different about them but now wasn't the time to dwell on it.

Sadie nodded, "Thanks you too. See you around." She then turned around and ran to her brother who looked super confused. He watched her grab her brother and pull him away to wherever she went.

"Well that was super awkward," he said as he got onto the pegasus.

"Sorry dude," Will said with a sigh. "Didn't know you were with someone but Chiron wanted to see you and said it was important."

"Its alright man is Percy going to be there?" He asked as the Pegasus took off. He looked and swore he saw Sadie and her brother watch him take off.

"Yeah he went with Beckendorf for some sort of mission. Hey are those two clearsighted too?" Will asked.

He sighed, "I guess its complicated."

Will laughed, "I understand. I won't tell anyone about them I promise."

"Thanks," he said as the Pegasus flew towards camp.

They landed at the camp and were greeted by Chiron, "Hello Magnus sorry to interrupt it looks like Percy will be arriving soon," Chiron said.

"No problem, what do you need?" He asked as he and Will got off of the pegasus.

"Percy is here!" Shouted one of the Stoll brothers. They all turned around and saw Percy come up with a not so happy look on his face. Uh oh where is Beckendorf.

"Charlie where is he?" Silena cried out desperately. She ran up to Percy as they all went up to him. He and Chiron went up to Percy who gave them a sad look and the realization hit them all.

"Silena lets have a meeting in the Big House I am sure Percy has a lot to talk about," Chiron said as he patted her shoulder.

Silena's face looked devastated, "No, No," she then broke down in tears.

Magnus felt a pit in his stomach he looked at Percy who signed to him, "Yeah he is dead."

He felt a pang in his heart as he fought back tears. "Everyone back to your activities. Magnus please join us as well," Chiron said. He only nodded as he and Percy followed Chiron to the Big House.

In the Big House he sat next to Percy and Annabeth as the other councilors arrived along with a replacement for Beckendorf. Clarisse was comforting Silena while the other campers were talking. "Nice to see you seaweed brain I'm glad you aren't dead," Annabeth said.

"Thanks, me too," Percy said with a sigh.

"Well I think we should have a war council now," Chiron said as he turned to Percy and asked him to tell him of his exploits.

Everyone remained quiet as Percy talked about how Beckendorf sacrificed himself to destroy the Princess Adromeda and his visit to his father's realm, "My father mentioned another threat bigger than the Princess Andromeda and I think it might be the challenge the Titan had mentioned in my dream."

Magnus nodded, while he noticed Annabeth and Chiron exchange a look as if they knew something. Percy saw it and signed to him, "I hate it when they do that."

"I understand man," he signed back. He noticed Chiron looking at them and he felt that he knew what they were saying, but they didn't care. His cousin looked at him though with a raised eyebrow and an irritated look.

"Oh and my dad says it is time for me to the full prophecy," Percy said.

Chiron sighed, "I've dreaded this day. Very well, Annabeth will you show him to the attic." His cousin nodded as she got up with Percy. He wished his friend good luck as the two headed up the attic leaving him with the other senior counselors.

He looked around the table and noticed Clarisse looking at him suspiciously, "You have a problem Clarisse?" He asked.

"No, just surprised to see you here," Clarisse said coolly.

Chiron sighed, "I invited Magnus here, things are getting serious and he is an important member of this camp."

Clarisse glared at him and he glared back. However, something was different in this look. He was used to her glaring at him. But this time it wasn't just anger or fury, it was pure hatred. The kind of look you give someone who has hurt someone important to you. What's her problem she got her damn chariot.

"Don't worry Magnus she is just jealous because we got a cooler chariot," Michael Yew said.

Clarisse gave Michael but didn't respond to him. "Yeah we did. Strange how you managed to find such a nice chariot," she said in a cold tone. He noticed Silena break down in tears which thankfully resulted in Clarisse comforting her.

Chiron sighed and to his relief, Percy and Annabeth came down, "Did you get it?" He asked.

Percy nodded and held out a piece of paper and began to read it. "A half-blood of the eldest gods. Shall reach sixteen against all odds. And see the world in endless sleep. The hero's soul, cursed blade shall reap. A single choice shall end his days. Olympus to preserve or raze."

He felt a pit in his stomach as he heard Percy mutter those words. He knew that Percy would face many challenges but he did not want to see his friend die. He stayed quiet as the other campers gave various suggestions on interpretations, all except Clarisse who was glared at him.

"Perhaps we should let Percy think about these line," Chiron said. "Prophecies can have many outcomes and interpretations."

Percy sighed, "I don't need time, if I die I die. I can't worry about that right?"

Magnus felt his body shake as he saw his cousin do the same. The look her eyes was of sadness and fear, Percy means a lot to her too he thought as he fought the urge to tear up. Percy was his best friend, he did not want to lose him.

"Lets move on," Percy said. "We've got another problem. We have a spy here."

"A spy?" Michael Yew said.

Percy nodded and told them what had happened on the ship and how Kronos had known that they were coming and how he had a silver scythe pendant to communicate with someone at camp.

Silena started to cry again as Annabeth went to comfort her. Clarisse narrowed her eyes on him and he felt very uncomfortable under her gaze. She doesn't think I'm a spy right? He shifted in his seat a bit, Clarisse was looking at him as if she wanted to run through him with her spear.

"Well we suspected that," Connor Stoll said. "Someone has been passing information to him for a while it, it must be someone who knew him well." Connor must have subconsciously glanced at him and Annabeth. "I mean it could be anyone, someone with a motive." Magnus suddenly felt a few more glances on him, and then it hit him, he was the only one at the table who wasn't claimed. He avoided the looks as he felt more than one person look at him and reach that realization.

"Hey lets not jump to conclusions," Percy said in a firm tone.

Yeah like I would help that guy. He thought but Silena started crying. "Stop it all of you Charlie is dead and you are acting like children."

"Indeed," Chiron said. "In fact the next assault is already underway."

"You mean the bigger threat Poseidon mentioned?" Percy asked.

Chiron and Annabeth had another Its time look. Percy rolled his eyes and signed to him, "I really hate it when they do that."

"Me too," he signed back.

"Percy we didn't want to tell you or Magnus since you both needed a break with your mortal friends," Chiron said.

He saw his cousin blush and then he realized that she and Chiron most likely knew that they were seeing other people outside of the camp. He felt a bit guilty and then angry. He and Percy were allowed to have lives outside of camp right?

"Don't worry we didn't do anything wrong," Percy signed to him. "We have a right to have friends outside of camp right?"

"I know don't worry about it we will talk later," he said. He felt the eyes of the others at the table and he realized that they were watching him and Percy speak in sign language even if they didn't understand it. Annabeth in particular looked a bit pissed that they were having this private conversation while Clarisse looked at him with more suspicion.

Percy then turned to Chiron, "What happened?"

Chiron sighed and took out a golden drachma and performed an Iris Message. An image shown through the mist and the form of the biggest giant he had ever seen appeared. "Typhon," Percy muttered. They both watched in a mixture of shock and horror as the figure of a large giant in combat with the various Gods appeared. The Gods appeared to be barely holding the creature back as it advanced.

"Unless the Gods stop him he will be here in five days," Chiron said. "Most of the Olympians are there except for Poseidon who has his own war to fight."

"But who is guarding Olympus then?" He asked.

Percy looked to him and everyone else, "It's a trick Kronos has another attack planned."

"But you destroyed his ship right? That should be the end of it," Connor said.

Percy glanced at him and Annabeth and they all had the same thought. The Princess Andromeda was a ploy to let their guard down.

"Maybe," Percy muttered but no one was convinced.

Magnus only stared at the table. Olympus was unguarded, the Gods were off fighting a monster, Poseidon was in a losing war against Oceanus, Kronos was out there doing who knows what, they had a spy, and his best friend was possibly going to die in five days. Well this keeps getting better and better he thought.

"Well I think that is all for one night," Chiron said.

"Yeah you got that right," Percy said with a sigh. With that, the council was adjourned.

"Well that was depressing," Percy said as they both walked to the Poseidon Cabin.

"Yeah it was," he said feeling a bit numb inside.

"Hey was it just me or was Clarisse glaring at you more than usual?" Percy asked as they walked into their cabin.

"Yeah I noticed. I don't know maybe because Apollo got a cool chariot or something," he said as he sat on his bed. Most of his stuff was here and he had a habit of keeping Gram and Sigurd's sword on him at all times along with the presents his father gave him.

"Maybe its just nerves or something," Percy said as he sat in his bed. "We are probably all on edge."

He nodded, "Yeah I know." Beckendorf was a close friend to him, he always helped out and was kind to him. Now that he is gone I don't know what to think, I know he will rest well in Elysium.

"Well there is no sense on dwelling on it we have more important things to do now," Percy said as he sat up and looked at him. "Are you still thinking about doing that thing with your dad?" He asked quietly.

He looked to the side and nodded, "Yeah I've been debating it. It would possibly help us."

Percy sighed, "Well if you think it will help go ahead and do it. I may take up Nico's offer after all."

He nodded, "Well we both will need luck then."

Percy smiled and nodded, "Yeah man but we can't fail people are counting on us"

He nodded, "Yeah I know." He knew that this war was about to get deadly but he would fight beside Percy and beside his cousin and protect them both at all costs.

AN: Hope you are all enjoying the story. Yeah at this point Alex Fierro is completely brainwashed by Kronos. Also this will be the last of the Kane's cameo, the kane chronicles needs more love.
