Chapter 47: Omi Town

It was Chinese New Year and all the monks got presents from their family members except Omi.

"There is nothing like Chinese New Year to put a smile on these dragon lips!"Dojo declared happily and both his lips smiled.

Alice opened up two of her presents and squealed in delight.

"Oh my gosh!"Alice remarked as she took out a Yoshikitty plush from the gift box and a Mewkledreamy plush from the other. "My daddy got me a Yoshikitty plush doll and my big brother Sergio got me the Mewkledreamy plush that I wanted forever!"

"Mum got a picture of me as a little one wrestling a family pig."Clay admitted and showed off the blue pillow that had a picture of him when he was a little boy giving a noogie to a pig. "She always knows what I want."

"Papa bought me a black box Decrypter."Kimiko admitted and took out the small device. "Now I'll be able to hack into anyone's email."

Alice takes a bunny pink USB stick from her third gift box.

"Good thing, Natsumi gave me a special USB stick that protects my email from hackers and viruses."Alice stated in relief.

"Natsumi is always a total babe if you ask me."Raimundo complemented lovingly.

Raimundo paled when he notice Kimiko's glare causing him to focus on his huge pile of gifts.

"With eight brothers and sisters and aunts and uncles coming out the wazoo, I showed big time!"Raimundo stated with a smile.

"Oh, I wonder what my great great great great Uncle Tiamad sent me."Dojo commented and opened the present revealing bones stuck in a chunk of ice. "His bones. How thoughtful."

Dojo notice Omi sitting down with a sad look on his face.

"Hey Omi Ball, why aren't you grabbing the booty?"Dojo asked.

"I don't feel like grabbing my booty."Omi replied sadly.

"Poor kid gets this way every year around this time."Dojo admitted.

"Oh you mean because he's an orphan and has no family."Raimundo responded.

This caused Kimiko to shut Raimundo's mouth.

"Nice, Rai."Kimiko scowled sarcastically. "Now why don't you go and kick him?"

"Hey, I didn't mean anything."Raimundo complemented. "Besides, it's not all bad being an orphan. Thing of what you save on gifts."

Omi sighed sadly and placed his head on the floor as Dojo slithered up to Raimundo's shoulder and pinched his ear.

"I don't think you're getting through."Dojo commented.

"I am sorry for being such a lower."Omi apologised.

"You mean downer."Raimundo corrected and notice his friends' glares. "Not that you are!"

"I am sad because I do not have a last name." Omi responded as he stood up. "Kimiko is a Tohomiko, Clay is a Bailey, Raimundo is a Pedrosa and Alice is a Hanson. I'm a blank. Even Dojo has a last name."

"You better believe it."Dojo agreed. "Kanojo Cho, of the northern Cho Cho Clan."

"What if we find you one that fits you?"Kimiko suggested. "Like, um..."

"Omi Greenburg."Dojo finished and went on Omi's head.

This caused Kimiko, Raimundo, Alice and Clay to give him blank looks.

"What?"Dojo asked.

Alice placed Dojo off of Omi's head as the Dragon of Water spoke up.

"Thank you."Omi replied. "But I do not want someone else's last name. I want my name."

"Then you should go on a quest, Omi."

The five monks turned around and saw Master Fung walk into the room.

"A quest to find out who you are and where you belong."Master Fung declared.

"Is that possible?"Omi questioned.

"Follow your Wudai instincts wisely, little monk."Master Fung instructed. "At the end of the journey, you will find your reward."

Afterwards...

The group took off on their next quest to find Omi's parents.

"Over there! No to the left!"Omi instructed. "No, right! No! Wait! Stop!"

"Stop here in mid air?!"Dojo questioned in shock. "Are you crazy?!"

"Maybe we should take a rest and start over in the morning."Clay suggested.

"Why bother?"Omi questioned. "I have no idea where we should go. I am like the blonde leading the blonde."

"I think you mean like the blind leading the blind."Raimundo corrected.

"Remember what Master Fung said."Kimiko reminded. "Follow your instincts and they will take you there or somewhere."

"No where."Omi said sadly. "That's where my instincts are taking me."

"Don't lose hope quickly, Omi."Alice instructed. "Impatient gets you no where in life."

"Over there!"Omi suddenly spoke up and pointed at the ground below.

Clay, Alice, Raimundo, Kimiko and Dojo sees a field that had a face design that looked like Omi's.

"If that isn't a sign, I don't know what is."Raimundo complemented.

"I believe we should go that way!"Omi stated and pointed at the direction.

"No, duh."Dojo responded.

Dojo landed on the ground causing the five monks to go off his back.

The group notice various signs that lead them to a small one street Chinese village called 'Omi Town'.

"You know, Omi, about these signs."Dojo said. "I would have thought they would be a bit more...you know, mystical."

"Now, Dojo, you shouldn't kiss a horse on the lips before it gives you its presents."Omi admitted.

Dojo, Alice, Clay, Kimiko and Raimundo gave Omi blank stares.

"Oh, kiss a gift horse on the mouth."Kimiko translated.

"Oh..."Alice, Clay, Raimundo and Dojo said in unison.

"I thought it was look a gift horse in the mouth."Dojo mumbled.

The group went inside Omi Town and were surprised to see the people were a lot of Omi look-alikes.

"Uh, are you all seeing what I'm seeing?"Clay asked.

"Is it weird or is it just me?"Raimundo questioned.

"Nope Pedrosa, it's totally weird."Alice stated as she scratched her head a little.

Raimundo finds Omi's parents who have been poor farmers all their lives.

"What is weird about a town filled with exceptionally good looking people?"Omi asked with a smile.

"Well, little buddy, all the good-looking people look just like you."Clay declared.

Omi gasped in realisation and became excited.

"This must where I came from!"Omi suggested happily. "My parents must be here! If we break apart, we can cover ourselves with more dirt!"

Omi rushed away from his companions.

"I'm guessing he meant spilt up and cover more ground."Kimiko corrected.

"Remind me to get him a metaphor book for Christmas, Kim."Alice whispered.

The five monks started asking the people in the town if they have seen Omi's parents, but it seemed no one knew about them.

Omi lowered his down after talking to a little puppy as Raimundo rushed up to him.

"Omi! Omi! I found your parents! They're just outside of town!"Raimundo admitted. "But I think that you should know that-"

"There is nothing more that I need to know." Omi interrupted happily. "Except that my parents are here!"

Omi and Dojo rushed to the location as Kimiko, Clay and Alice went up to Raimundo.

"You found Omi's parents?"Kimiko asked.

"Yeah, but I'm not sure they're exactly what Omi's expecting."Raimundo stated.

The group headed the outside of Omi Town, only to find a poor farm area with a broken down house.

Clay, Dojo, Alice, Kimiko and Raimundo had their mouths down in complete shock since they were expecting a better view of Omi's home.

"This is where my parents live?"Omi asked in confusion.

Clay, Dojo, Alice, Kimiko and Raimundo quickly gave happy grins to Omi as the young monk looked down a little.

The two figures shared Omi's trademark round yellow head though they both looked much older.

"Son, is that you?"the old man asked.

"Mother? Father?"Omi said as he began to tear up in joy.

Omi smiled and held up his arms, running to his parents to give them a hug.

Suddenly the old man started coughing harshly causing Omi to stop walking.

Omi rushed to his parents, only to get the old man's cough onto his face.

Clay, Dojo, Alice, Kimiko and Raimundo watched the sight quietly.

"Poor little guy."Kimiko said. "I don't know how things could get any worse for him."

"Omi Crud."the old man responded.

This caused Omi to fell on the ground and stare blankly up at the sky.

"My last name is Crud?!"Omi shouted as he waved his arms around frantically. "Omi Crud?!"

Clay looked at Kimiko.

"I think you spoke too soon, partner."Clay stated.

"Eesh, this is getting weirder by the minute."Alice said as she crossed her arms.

Omi began talking to Mr and Mrs Crud after they told him they were poor farmers all their lives.

"You could not always have been farmers."Omi denied. "I bet you have a colourful past. Fought many brave battles."

"The only brave battles I can recall fighting were with your mother."Mr Crud responded. "We go out it like cats and dogs. Usually over chores or bowl of rice."

"And your positive he's your son?"Kimiko asked. "Omi's not the only one with a big yellow head."

"Just look at his baby photos."Mrs Crud insisted and held up a long list of photographs that showed Omi as a cute little infant with a small strand of black hair on his head. "Here's Omi getting his first dot and here he is, breaking his first board. And here's a lock of his baby hair."

Mrs Crud held up the same black strand of hair that was in the photos.

"Actually, that's all he ever grew."Mrs Crud admitted.

"No doubt about it."Raimundo replied. "Omi's their boy."

Mrs Crud scooped Omi up into a tight bear hug.

"We're just so happy to have our little Omi back!"Mrs Crud remarked happily. "Oh, how we have missed him so!"

"We never knew what happened to him all those years ago."Mr Crud exclaimed. "One second he was here and the next, gone!"

"We figured we must gotten him mixed in with the produce and him sold off as a grapefruit."Mrs Crud explained.

Clay, Dojo, Alice, Kimiko and Raimundo had expressions of disbelief and shock at hearing at a explanation that was so unbelievable.

"Anyway, I better get back to the chores."Mr Crud said. "Still got to plow the field, you know."

Mr Crud walked over to a nearby plow, tying the rope attached to it around his waist, but started coughing harshly.

"No, father!"Omi responded. "Allow me."

Omi untied Mr Crud and grabbed the plow to drag it towards the large field.

"Now there's a good son."Mr Crud chuckled.

"Snake Dancing Dirty!"Omi chanted.

Omi began kicking the pole to move it in the entire large field.

As soon as the field was done, Mr and Mrs Crud had Omi make a fence using some boards.

"Cow Sucking Cheese!"Omi chanted and leapt up holding a punch of boards. "Pig Eating Sausage!"

Omi threw some boards up before jumping up and kicked them towards the ground.

The boards Omi threw attached together, forming a fence.

Omi grabbed a wicker basket and went into the chicken coop.

"Horse Stealing Cart!"Omi chanted.

Omi quickly gathered the eggs into the wicker basket before heading out and filling a two paintbrushes with grey paint.

"Monkey Painting House!"Omi chanted.

Omi finished painting the farm house and began shearing an entire flock sheep.

"Goat Churning Butter!"Omi chanted tiredly.

But as soon as the Dragon of Water finished shearing the flock of sheep, he was immediately becoming exhausted.

Alice served tea sandwiches and scones to Clay, Dojo, Kimiko and Raimundo for their picnic as they watched Omi do his chores.

"Are you sure you don't wanna take a break, Omi?"Alice called out. "We are having scones with jam too!"

"No thank you, Allie!"Omi answered. "I have no need for your such wondrous delights!

Later that Evening...

Omi slowly approached his parents as he forced a fake smile on his face.

"Omi, you must be so tired."Mrs Crud said. "I made up your old room for you, just like it was always."

"Old room?"Omi repeated and pushed his face off the ground. "But I already have a room back at the Xiaolin Temple."

"No, you will be staying here with us from now on."Mrs Crud admitted.

Alice, Clay, Dojo, Kimiko and Raimundo became shocked at what Mrs Crud just said before looking at each other.

"Looking after the farm will be a full-time job."Mrs Crud exclaimed.

"You...You want me to leave the temple?"Omi asked in disbelief.

"We just want you to be happy."Mr Crud responded and let out a heavy cough. "You don't have to care for your parents if you don't want to."

Mr Crud started coughing harshly as Mrs Crud placed a hand on his shoulder.

"I'm sure we'll find some way to get by."Mrs Crud assured. "Or not."

Omi looked at his mother's sad face and his father coughing causing him to respond.

"No, I...I will stay."Omi stated.

Kimiko, Clay, Raimundo and Alice gasped in pure awe.

"You are my mother and father."Omi said sadly. "It is my duty."

Clay came over and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Think about what you're saying, buckaroo."Clay reminded.

"You can't stay, you're a Xiaolin monk."Raimundo added.

"No, I am a Crud first."Omi answered.

"Omi, just an hour ago, you were just a grapefruit to them."Kimiko reminded.

"You can't just leave us, Omi."Alice commented. "We need you."

"These are my parents, it is the only honorable thing to do."Omi replied.

When the sun set down, Dojo glanced at Omi as Kimiko, Raimundo, Alice and Clay went on his back.

"Are you sure about this?"Dojo asked.

"Yes."Omi responded and looked down. "This is goodbye."

"Not goodbye."Kimiko disagreed. "We'll come back and visit, and you'll visit us, and..."

Kimiko trailed off, unable to continue.

Then Dojo and the remaining monks took off in the dark night sky as Omi watched them go.

"Goodbye my friends."Omi whispered.

"Suppertime, Omi!"Mrs Crud called out. "We're having your favourite chicken feet! And right after you do the dishes, you can give us a sponge bath!"

Omi cringed at his mother's respond, knowing this will be a long night for him.

Dojo headed back at the Xiaolin Temple as Kimiko, Raimundo, Alice and Clay spoke to each other.

"It's hard to believe the little round dude's gone."Raimundo stated. "He made bad slang an art form."

"I know, but we should be happy for him."Kimiko insisted. "He wanted to find his family, and he did. Now he knows who he is."

"Yeah, a Crud."Clay agreed.

"A very weird surname if you ask me."Alice retorted. "And they didn't even felt too emotional when they first saw Omi after so long."

"It's probably because they're old people, Allie."Raimundo suggested.

Alice frowned and felt the wind blew on her hair as they returned back to the temple.

At the Xiaolin Temple...

Alice placed on her yellow pyjamas designed with small pink hearts as she prepared to go to sleep.

However the Dragon of Ice couldn't sleep so she went to the kitchen to drink a cup of passionflower tea.

"What do you want, Chase?"Alice questioned with a bitter tone.

"I'm not here to fight you, Alice."Chase stated. "But I've come to warn you."

"About what?"Alice asked sarcastically. "Your house keeper bothering you?"

"Wuya is going to try and steal Shen Gong Wu with the worm Spicer and that wretched Hannibal Bean."Chase admitted.

Alice frowned. "Why should I believe you, lizard boy?"

"Look in the crow's eye."Chase instructed.

Alice looked into the crow's eye, only to see Wuya, Hannibal Bean and Jack talking to each other.

"Okay. That's bad since Omi is now not with us."Alice commented and raised an eyebrow. "Why are you telling me this?"

"Just something I thought you need to know about...in case, you wanted to do anything about it."Chase responded with a smirk. "Nice pyjamas by the way."

Alice blushed and scowled in annoyance as Chase disappeared from her sight.

The Next Morning...

Alice, Clay, Kimiko and Raimundo sat at the top of a roof of the temple buildings as they waited the arrival of their enemies.

Then Jack and Wuya arrived in the temple entrance while Hannibal Bean sat on the Heylin Witch's shoulder.

"Little they suspect."Wuya said evilly. "It would be like taking Shen Gong Wu from a baby."

"Looks you just stepped into the wrong crib."Raimundo declared smugly.

Clay, Alice, Raimundo and Kimiko landed on the ground to confront the three villains.

"Light sleepers?"Wuya asked.

"You know what they say, 'the early bird catches the worm...or worms'."Clay replied.

"Hey! Nice disk!"Jack remarked.

Hannibal Bean hopped off of Wuya's shoulder and looked up at the four warriors.

"You're talking to Hannibal Roy Bean!"Hannibal Bean warned.

"Oh, yeah? Well, listen, Mr. Musical Fruit, I eat beans for lunch!"Raimundo warned.

"Well, eat this!"Hannibal Bean answered and took out the Moby Morpher. "Moby Morpher!"

Hannibal Bean used the Moby Morpher to grow into his bigger size.

"Wudai Orion Formation!"Raimundo insisted.

"We can't use that formation because we're missing somebody."Alice reminded with a frown.

"That's right, pinkie."Jack agreed in amusement. "You guys are missing someone round and looks like a cheese snack."

"We are so sunk."Kimiko said sadly.

"Jack-Bots, attack!"Jack ordered.

Two Jack-Bots sent Clay crushing against the other side of the temple.

"Get along, little doggie!"Jack mocked. "Not!"

Alice and Kimiko glared at Wuya.

"Think you two have enough for me?"Wuya asked.

"Of course we do!"Alice retorted.

"Have some, you old witch!"Kimiko snapped.

Alice and Kimiko launched forward to fight Wuya, but the Heylin Witch easily defeated them.

"Never insult your elders."Wuya taunted. "Especially when they can kick your butts."

"Looks like it's just you and me, bean dude!"Raimundo declared.

Raimundo tried to fight Hannibal Bean, but was easily overpowered.

"Poor Raimundo."Hannibal Bean mocked. "Always one step behind even with his fellow monks."

Hannibal Bean punched Raimundo away and the Dragon of Wind landed where his friends stood.

Jack cackled as he walked forward holding a bunch of Shen Gong Wu he stole in the vault.

"Need any help from a cowpoke?"

Wuya, Hannibal Bean and Jack were shocked to see Omi while the other monks looked relieved.

"Hey!"Jack complained. "Your not supposed to be here!"

"Well, what comes in circles, goes the other way in circles!"Omi declared.

Everyone blinked in confusion at what Omi just said.

"Somebody translate!"Wuya scowled. "I'll be up all night!"

"He means is what goes around, comes around."Alice muttered.

"Oh please, that wasn't even close."Wuya scoffed.

"WUDAI ORION FORMATION!"Clay, Kimiko, Omi, Alice and Raimundo chanted.

Clay, Kimiko, Omi, Alice and Raimundo changed into their wudai power forms.

"Jack-Bots, attack!"Jack ordered.

Raimundo and Clay easily defeated the Jack-Bots causing Jack to scream and drop the Shen Gong Wu he stole.

Alice and Kimiko attacked Wuya in quick speed as Omi faced against Hannibal Bean.

"You'll need more than kung-fu to stop Hannibal Roy Bean!"Hannibal Bean declared.

"How about Kung Fu cowpoke style?"Omi suggested smugly.

Omi began attacking Hannibal Bean while bouncing on him.

"Cow Laying Egg!"Omi chanted as he jumped and bounced on the evil bean. "Rooster Milking Pig!"

Omi kicked Hannibal Bean against the wall, defeating him.

"Way da go, Omi!"Kimiko remarked.

"Good to have you back!"Alice added.

"Omi rocks!"Raimundo chuckled.

"Nice farm moves, partner!"Clay praised.

"It is the Crud in me."Omi stated proudly. "In fact, I call it, Crud Kung Cow Fu!"

The five monks went back to their normal forms as Kimiko noticed the Shen Gong Wu.

"Omi, the Shen Gong Wu!"Kimiko warned.

The young monk rushed to the stolen Shen Gong Wu.

However, he ended up touching the pile of Shen Gong Wu at the same time as his mother, starting a Xiaolin Showdown.

"Mother?"Omi said in surprise.

"I challenge you to a Xiaolin Showdown!"Mrs Crud declared. "The game is Bamboo Hopping! First to fall loses!"

"My own mother, on the side of evil?"Omi said with a hurtful look.

"When you're a parent, you'll understand."Mrs Crud answered with a evil smile. "My Orb of Tornami against your Lasso Bao Bao."

"How did you get my Orb?"Omi asked in shock.

"I went through your pockets while you were clipping your father's toe nails."Mrs Crud replied as she tossed the Orb of Tornami a little hit.

Omi glared at his mother in anger.

"Let's go, Xiaolin Showdown!"Omi and Mrs Crud yelled out.

When the showdown started, bamboo poles nearby rise from the ground into the air with Omi and his mother both stand on top of one.

"Gong Yi Tan Pai!"Omi and Mrs Crud shouted in unison.

Mrs Crud began to attack Omi with her bamboo stick, but Omi was hesitating to fight against his mother.

"That's for not cleaning your room!"Mrs Crud snapped as she swung her staff at Omi. "And that's not for eating you sweet and spicy chicken!"

Omi continues to dodge his mother's attacks but refuses to fight back.

Jack watched the sight with Wuya and Hannibal Bean.

"Nothing sweeter than a mother's love for her son."Jack laughed. "Tear him up, mum!"

Mrs Crud whacked Omi again with her staff.

"And that's for never calling!"Mrs Crud shouted.

"But I did not even know you existed!"Omi protested.

Omi jumped out of the way from being by Mrs Crud's staff.

"Don't ever talk back to your mother!"Mrs Crud yelled.

"Don't think of her as your mother!"Kimiko protested.

"Yeah! Just think of her as a really evil old person!"Raimundo agreed. "With a bad hip!"

"Defeat her off, Omi!"Alice encouraged. "Come on!"

Omi and Mrs Crud landed on bamboos opposite of each other.

"No, I will not raise my hand against you, mother."Omi stated firmly.

"Fine by me. I have no trouble raising a hand against you."Mrs Crud admitted as she tossed her staff to the side and pulled out the Orb of Tornami. "Orb of Tornami!"

"Orb of Tornami!"Mrs Crud chanted.

Mrs Crud blasted water to finish off Omi.

"Wudai Neptune, WATER!"Omi chanted.

Omi's instincts kick in and he sends the water flying back towards his mother, sending her falling to the ground.

"Mummy!"Omi cried out.

Mrs Crud hit the ground causing her head to fly off, revealing that she was a robot.

This wins the showdown for Omi.

"That's not your mum!"Raimundo shouted. "That's a robot!"

"A robot?!"Omi repeated and his face turned sour.

Clay, Kimiko, Omi, Alice and Raimundo all gang up on Jack for his dirty trick.

"Hey! Hey! They made me do it!"Jack protested and pointed at Wuya. "They made me build all the robots! Hannibal Bean then used the Moby Morpher to make my robots look like your relatives! If you had any! We figured if we could break up the dream team, we could take all the Wu!"

"And it would have worked too."Wuya retorted and glared at Omi. "If you hadn't shown up."

"Well, let us just say that a little bird told me to."Omi remarked with a smile.

The monks and the villains notice a black bird flying above them.

A small smile crept up on Alice as Wuya glanced at the bird.

"Chase Young."Wuya said in fear.

The Heylin Witch nervously waved at the black bird as 'Master Fung' rushed forward to take the Shen Gong Wu away.

"Quickly!"Master Fung stated. "We must take the Shen Gong Wu back to the vault!"

Master Fung took some of the Shen Gong Wu as Wuya grabbed the Shroud of Shadows.

"Shroud of Shadows!"Wuya chanted.

Wuya escaped with the other Shen Gong Wu before Raimundo and Omi can catch her.

"What about my escape needs?!"Jack panicked.

Jack ran out of sight as Master Fung walked up to the five monks.

"Are the Shen Gong Wu safe?"Master Fung questioned.

"Of course they are, you just took them to the vault...didn't you?"Kimiko asked.

"Not again."Alice groaned and face palmed.

Alice, Clay, Kimiko, Omi and Raimundo quickly figured out that the first Master Fung was actually Hannibal Roy Bean using the Moby Morpher.

The evil bean cackled evilly as he took off riding on the Ying Ying Bird.

Later that Night...

Omi looked at the broken mother robot in sadness since he realised he was still an orphan.

"They were not very good parents, but at least they were my parents."Omi admitted as the others walked up to him from behind. "For a while."

Tears fell down from Omi's eyes.

"Your real parents are out there somewhere."Kimiko assured. "You can still find them."

"What is more, you have succeed in your quest to find where you belong."Master Fung stated.

Omi turned to looked at Master Fung and his companions.

"But I am back where I started."Omi said sadly.

"That is right."Master Fung agreed. "This is your home."

"Your place is right here with us, Omi."Alice remarked kindly.

Raimundo, Kimiko, Clay, Alice, Dojo and Master Fung cheer Omi up by giving him some presents for the Chinese New Year celebration.

"Happy New Year, Omi."Master Fung commented with a smile.

Dojo slithered forward and accidentally spilled chocolate on Omi's head.

"I hope you like chocolates."Dojo chuckled and handed the empty box to Omi.

"Parents or not, I know I will always have a family."Omi responded gently and glared at Dojo. "You ate all my chocolates?!"

"Sorry."Dojo apologised with a weak smile. "Couldn't resist."

Master Fung, Raimundo, Kimiko, Clay and Alice smiled at each other as Omi began chasing a frightened Dojo in the middle of the night.
