"Auuu, why do we have to walk? Why can't Trish just use her magic," Travis complained as we hiked down the steep mountain.
I looked away, I didn't want to admit it, but I was terrified to use any kind of magic after what had just happened.
Calypso must have saw the expression on my face because she said, "We're just going to walk, okay?"
Travis looked over at me. "Oh, sorry," he looked at the ground while he walked.
"Let's just get off this stupid mountain," I said.
I was still thinking about how Nemesis might still be after us, I was terrified.
"C-can we take a break," Connor whined out of breath.
"Yeah, we can stop," I said sitting on a nearby rock. I pulled the book that Athena had given me out of cloak.
"So, what does it say?" Jamie asked putting a hand on my shoulder.
"I don't know, that's what I'm trying to figure out," I opened the book, it was in several different languages other than English, thankfully there was a Greek section, "Augh, I can't read Greek. Jamie, can you read it for me?"
"Uh, sure."
"But you don't have to read it word for word, just paraphrase it," I explained.
"Um, okay?"
He began reading. "So it says, 'There will be a cursed child who will have the power to destroy the gods' blah, blah, blah," he paused.
"What, what is it?" I asked tilting the book towards me, even though I couldn't read it.
"I-it says, 'where order and chaos come together as one'."
"So?"
"Um, I'm not done, 'the earthly equivalent of good and bad, two personalities put in one'," Jamie looked at me wide eyed.
"Um, so that means that, um, what we thought was my curse before was actually my curse, just half of it?" I asked.
"Uh, I think so?"
"Well you can't answer a question with a question," I laughed.
"So, the yellow is the good I guess, and when everything turns black that's the bad."
"I guess."
"It goes on to say, 'Hera will seal this child's fate by cursing it, and this will be the chosen one'."
"Augh, great, now I'm not just Hera's child I'm the "chosen one" as well. I don't want any more attention than I already have!" I exclaimed.
"Heh, most of us would die to be in your position," Jamie explained.
"Well most of you would want to die if you were in my position," I said crossing my arms, "So, is that it?"
"Uh, yeah, basically."
"Okay," I said standing up and putting the book back in my cloak, "Well, I think that was a long enough break, we should probably keep going before it gets dark."
We all got up and started walking back down the mountain. It got dark fast than we were expecting so we decided to set up camp for the night. But the thing was, there were no trees, only rock, rock, and more rock. So we had no warmth, only the cold.
"Seriously we should have been more prepared," Connor said as he warped him arms around himself.
"None of us knew Nemesis was going to bring us here!" I yelled putting my hands up in the air.
"Hey calm down," Jamie said grabbing my shoulders. I shrugged him off and walked away.
I didn't know where I was walking to, I just knew that I needed to calm down. I walked over to a cliff and looked over.
"I wouldn't go any further if I were you," said a voice behind me.
I turned around and saw a guy sitting on one of the rocks. He had salt-pepper hair and running shorts on, I automatically knew him from The Sea of Monsters. It was Hermes. "H-Hermes," I stammered.
"Oh don't be surprised, I'm just here to give you a message."
"From who?" I asked.
"From Zeus, duh. He says to tell you that he is truly sorry for what happened and that he did not tell Nemesis to come after you."
"Jee, thanks," I said rolling my eyes, then mumbled, "You Immortals."
"Oh, and he also wants to see you and your friends," Hermes added.
Hermes snapped and all of a sudden we were all in Olympus's throne room. I saw Zeus sitting on his throne. Being back here did not give me good memories, neither was seeing Zeus himself.
"So, did Hermes give you the message?" Zeus' voice boomed as he spoke.
"Yes, he did," I answered.
"Good, I hope you are all right, Hera would kill me if you weren't."
"ALRIGHT! YOU THINK I'M ALRIGHT!" I screamed, "one of the Immortals came after me. I unleashed my curse, I almost killed everyone I care about, and I'm frightened that I might do it again! Does that sound okay to you!"
"Trish, this is what got you in trouble in the first place," Jamie said stepping up to Zeus, "I'm sorry lord Zeus, I don't think she meant it."
"No!" I said stepping in front of Jamie, "I did mean it. This is why I believe in the one true God, he loves he people and he would do anything for any of us!"
"But child we are gods-,"
"No, you call yourself gods. Any true God would not be acting like this."
"Trish," Calypso whispered, "Stop."
"You should listen to your friend," Zeus boomed.
I looked Zeus straight in the eyes, "You know what, you can send everyone at me, I don't care, but I will beat them. I don't want to yell at you, to be honest I don't like to yell, but you need to learn that what you do effects innocent people. True rulers should not act like they are better than everyone else!" I then stormed out of the throne room and into the gardens. The others ran after me trying to get me to calm down.
"Trish, please," Calypso said grabbing my arms.
"STOP!" I yelled, but once again it was the deeper voice I had heard when I was fighting Nemesis. Calypso let go of my arm and everyone turned pale, even the several different nymphs and minor Immortals around us. I looked down at my hands to see that one had a gold aura and the other had a black aura.
"Two personalities," Jamie whispered.
"I-I'm so sorry," I said as I looked at Calypso, she just backed up in terror, "Please, I didn't mean to."
"Uh, Trish?" Travis said backing away.
"W-what?"
"Your eyes, they aren't going back to normal, ones still black and the other's still gold. But the aura has gone away at least," Jamie said coming closer to me.
"No, don't come near me," I cried. I turned around and ran, I didn't take the elevator, I just jumped off the edge and used my curse to keep me up. I went to the only person I thought could help me, Annabeth.
I soared over New York and straight to Camp Half Blood. I saw a familiar tree in the distance and decided to lower myself at the base right on top of Half Blood Hill. I put my cloaks hood up so that no one could see my eyes.
The first person to notice me was one of the Apollo kids. "Hey everybody!" he yelled, "Trish is back!"
Chiron galloped over to me. "Where's everyone else?" he asked concerningly.
"They're coming. Where's Annabeth?" I asked, by now there was a huge crowd around me. All had the same question, where was everyone else.
"Uh, she's in the Poseidon cabin with Percy, why?" Chiron asked confused.
"I just need to see her."
I started walking to the Poseidon cabin, but everyone kept getting in my way. So I lifted myself up overtop of them and I continued walking.
I arrived and knocked on the door. Percy opened the door and before he was able to say anything I asked, "Where's Annabeth?"
"Aren't you going to greet me?" he asked, he then bent down and gave me a hug, which I did not like by the way.
But he must have seen my eyes because he gasped and said, "Quick, she's in here."
"Percy who's there?" Annabeth asked, she then looked up and saw me, "Trish, is everything okay?" she put her books and papers down and came up to me.
"No, nothing's okay, I need to talk to you. You're the only one who I think can help."
"Uh, hear, come sit."
She led me to the bunk she was just on and moved all of her stuff. "So what do you need?" she asked sitting down.
I took my hood off and stared her in the eyes. She gasped just like Percy did. "W-what happened to you? Is everyone else okay?"
"Y-yeah, there fine, b-but-," I started crying so Annabeth scooted over and put her arm around me, "I don't know what to do, I almost killed them, twice. Your mother gave me this though." I pulled the book out of my cloak and handed it to Annabeth, "She said that it would tell me about my curse, I read a bit of it, but I just don't know what to do."
She opened it and stared looking inside. "So, can you tell us a little bit of what happened on your quest so that we can figure something out?" Percy asked.
I went on to tell them everything from the first plane ride to when I jumped off of Olympus. Tears were streaming down my cheeks by the time I finished.
"Wow, lot of guts standing up to Zeus like that, I'm surprised he didn't blast you," Percy said.
"That's because he can't," Annabeth said.
"Huh?"
"It says here that even the gods themselves are afraid of her and if they try to battle her then they will most likely lose or get extremely injured in the process. But what I don't understand is why I haven't heard of this before, it seems to me that it was a prophecy from thousands of years ago. From before the gods were even created, so why am I just now hearing about this. The titans and gods must have wanted to keep this a secret from everyone, but why?"
"That's why I'm asking you," I said as I took a tissue and wiped the tears off my eyes and cheeks.
"Well I have no clue, so we'll just have to go to someone who might," Annabeth said.
"Who?" Percy asked.
"Oh my gods, you are such a seaweed brain. Dionysus, dummy!"
"Oh, makes sense."
We got up and I put my hood back on. "Oh and one more thing," I said as we walked out the door, "Athena told me to tell no one because she wasn't supposed to give it to me."
We reached the big house to see Chiron and Mr. D playing cards on the table on the porch. "So, Trish, you going to tell me why you came back but no one else did?"
I went to answer but then Annabeth said, "Actually, we really need to speak with Mr. D, its important."
"But I want my question answered!" Chiron said sternly.
"Please Chiron," Percy said.
"Okay, but be finished by the time I come back."
We walked on the porch as Chiron galloped away. "So, I'm guessing this is about her curse?" Mr. D said not looking up from his cards.
"Uh, yeah."
"Well, then we should probably talk about this somewhere else, maybe inside in front of the Pac-Man machine?"
We walked inside after Mr. D. he walked up to the Pac-Man machine and started playing. "So, I'm guessing you want to know why you haven't heard about this?" Mr. D asked.
"How did you-,"
"Curse you blinky!" Mr. D yelled at the game, "The reason we didn't tell anyone is because the gods are terrified of this chosen one being born, but of course you can't stop the inevitable."
"But why? Why are they terrified of me?" I asked.
"You have the power to destroy us. If someone had the power to destroy you and your family, would you be terrified of them? That's also why Nemesis went after you, she wanted you gone before you learned about your curse and could destroy her."
"But I don't destroy you! Your living beings just like me and everyone else," I exclaimed.
"Tell that to Zeus, you keep yelling at him and you even slapped him. To be honest, I think ole thunder breath could have used it," Mr. D said, I then heard thunder crack across the sky, "Yeah, yeah."
"Well thank you, but we better get going before Chiron gets back," Annabeth said.
"Okay, but just warning you," Mr. D said, "I wouldn't stay too long, a lot more people are going to try and kill you before you learn how to properly use this curse of yours."
That last statement left me shocked, I barely survived Nemesis, know more want me dead! Annabeth, Percy and I waled out of the Big House with Mr. D yelling at Blinky.
"Trish, look," Percy pointed to the top of Half Blood Hill. And just my luck, the Stoll's, Calypso, Jamie and Coral walked over the hill.
Thanks for reading! This is by far the most I have ever written in one chapter, but it was so good that I didn't want to stop. Anyway, stay safe and try to beat blinky.
