Alright, here we go. Due to popular demand, we have the musical for this chapter. This is only going to be the first part with the rest in next week's chapter. I mentioned this before but my musical will have 4 songs, two of which will be in this chapter and the last two next week. My co-authors are Brightburn1985 and ThomasMarieAmell2.0.

Disclaimer: I don't own the Flash or any of these songs.

In what seemed like so long, Team Flash actually had a quiet night. There were no crimes happening. No imminent dangers on the horizon. It was calm.

So it came as no surprise when a breach opened up in the STAR Labs basement. Three figures exited the breach, but the team only recognized one of them.

"Kara?" Barry asked, seeing Supergirl walking out with two men by her side.

"Hey Barry. We've come to warn you about something," Kara said.

"Who are those guys?" Cisco asked, gesturing to the two men beside her.

"This is J'onn and Mon-El. Something's happened that concerns you guys," Kara explained.

"What happened?" Caitlin asked.

"We had a fifth dimensional being in our custody. It was too easy, but I didn't question it. He wanted us to capture him," J'onn said, shaking his head at his mishap. "As we were escorting him to his cell, he escaped and made off with one of the breach devices you had gifted us."

"Why would he do that?" Barry asked.

"For you we believe." Mon-El said. "His last words were 'I have a date with the fastest man alive'."

"Let's talk," Barry gestured for them to follow him.

They entered the Cortex where the rest of the team was.

""I'm sorry, who are they?" Julian asked when seeing the extra three people.

"They're friends. From another Earth. They're aliens." Barry briefly explained.

"I have so many questions," Julian said, dumbfounded.

"We'll get to your questions, but first, how are we going to track down this fifth dimensional being? What would he want from me?" Barry asked.

"We don't know. So we need to be on alert," J'onn said.

"I have a question. Is this alien wearing a suit?" HR raised his hand.

"Yes? Why do you ask?" Kara asked.

"Because he's right there on the screen," HR pointed to one of the monitors that had an unknown man smirking into the camera.

"That's coming from the speed lab," Barry said and rushed into this suit to confront this being.

"Wait! We don't even know what he wants." Caitlin shouted but Barry was already gone.

Down in the speed lab, Barry had arrived. "I heard you've been looking for me?"

"Flash. Let me tell you, I didn't expect you here until right now. Or is this thing running slow?" the alien looked at a fancy watch on his wrist.

"I'm taking you in."

"Well I can tell you that's not happening anytime soon,"

Barry charged the being, and when Barry was about to tackle him, the being grabbed a hold of his shoulders and planted his feet firmly in the ground.

The being didn't even seem stressed as he casually caught the Flash and flung him aside.

Barry landed on his back, but immediately pulled himself upright. Barry generated electricity in his two arms and fired twin bolts of lightning from his hands.

The being simply raised his hand and the electricity disappeared into a portal and Barry was then shocked by his own lightning when another portal opened up behind him without his knowledge, which his lightning struck him.

Barry groaned in pain and tried to push himself up, but the being squatted down and gazed at him condescendingly. "We're going to have so much fun together," he said as his eyes glowed.

A wave of power emanated from him and Barry was rendered unconscious.

Just as Supergirl arrived, the being ran out of there with his own lightning trail, leaving Kara to pick up Barry and return him to the Cortex.

"God you're an idiot," Caitlin said as she placed Barry on a bed so she could check him over.

"Is he okay?" Kara asked.

"He seems fine, but until I get a better look, I can't tell what that guy did to him,"

"You do that Caitlin. I'll track down that fifth dimensional being. He couldn't have gotten far," Cisco said.

Barry had awoken in an unfamiliar setting. He had no idea on how he'd gotten here.

He wasn't even in a bed, he was standing in a building, wearing casual clothes.

"What is going on?" Barry asked himself.

"You tell me," a voice interrupted him.

Whirling around, Barry came face to face with the same being he'd been fighting when he was suddenly transported here.

"We're in your mind,"

"Who are you?" Barry asked.

"You can't say my name with your limited human vocal chords. But you're going to call me Music Meister in the future," he said.

"Why would I call you Music Meister?"

"That doesn't matter. What matters is, you're trapped here. I have stolen your powers, which means Central City is mine for the taking," Music Meister said in a giddy tone.

"I'm going to stop you," Barry declared.

"You can't. There's only one way, and that's to wake up, and you're not waking up until you're done here," Music Meister explained. "See, I told you. We're in your mind. You created this place, and with your love of musicals, it became this. We could have been in a warzone, so be glad it's like this."

"How do I get out of here?"

"You can't. The only way for you to get out of here is to follow the script. Once that's done, the dream sequence will end, you'll wake up, and I'll be powerless and on my way."

"Why are you doing this?"

"Honestly? You seemed interesting, and I wanted to have some fun. Don't be boring," Music Meister waved goodbye and disappeared in a burst of light.

"Barry!" a familiar voice called out.

"Oliver?" Barry gasped when he turned around to see the face of his friend.

"Why do you sound so surprised?"

Barry shrugged innocently. "No reason,"

"Look, you need to get to work. After threatening to quit only to back out, they're going to look for any reason to let you go,"

"Why did I threaten to quit again?" Barry asked. He just had to keep with the script, but he needed to figure out what the script was in the first place.

"You don't remember? You were going to run away with that doll you found, but she didn't show up. Good riddance if you ask me," Oliver walked away.

Barry was beginning to see what happened. Or at least an idea. Barry was supposed to be in love with some girl, but she broke his heart or something. And now Barry thinks he's supposed to find her.

Barry placed his hands in his pockets but felt a piece of paper in them. Pulling it out, he saw it was a newspaper clipping with a giant headline:

CAITLIN SNOW MISSING

… what?!

Back in the real world, Caitlin Snow was working overtime to figure out what happened to Barry.

"This isn't good," Caitlin mumbled, looking over the results.

"Guys!" Caitlin shouted. "I have some news."

"What is it?" Cisco asked.

"Whatever that guy did, it did more than just put Barry to sleep. Somehow, he's drained Barry of his powers. I can't find a single trace of the Speed Force in Barry's system."

"So what happened to them?" Kara asked.

"I think that question can be answered by the man on that screen." Julian said, pointing to the TV.

While it was muted, the headline showed; Speedster on the loose.

"So that guy put Barry to sleep and stole his powers? Not cool," Cisco said.

"We need to stop him. Luckily we have plenty of experience with taking down speedsters," Caitlin said.

"Lead the way," Kara said.

Cisco created a breach that would take them to the scene of the crime. Wally, Kara, and J'onn entered it with Cisco bringing up the rear.

They arrived in full gear to see a streak of lightning speeding through.

Kara and J'onn jumped to the air to get a better view on where he could be heading.

Wally ran into action, trying to catch him on foot.

Cisco was lying in wait as backup, but there was little chance he'd be able to catch this speedster without some luck.

"What's going on?" Cisco asked through the comms.

"Kid Flash is on his tail. But he's losing him. We're following, but he's fast. I don't know if we can catch up," Kara reported.

"You need to lead him to an enclosed area. Somewhere you have the advantage to trap him." Cisco said.

Wally tried to increase his speed to catch up, but was blown back by an arm tornado courtesy of the alien.

"Where is he going?" Wally asked.

"He's not going anywhere. He's just trying to shake us off," J'onn said.

A flash of lightning reappeared in front of them. "I'm so disappointed in you. You don't know anything about me Martian. And Wally, I see why you're Kid Flash. You don't hold a candle to the original."

Before he could say anything else, Supergirl tackled him from the sky and flew away, pushing him forward to slam him into something at high speed.

"Supergirl. Always a pleasure. I was wondering where you'd gotten to,"

The man phased out of her grip and dropped the ground, landing on his feet with nary a scratch on him.

Kara turned around and flew back to him, but she didn't notice the little sparks in the man's hands.

The man raised his hands and ten little lightning bolts shot from each individual finger at her.

Kara pulled back and tried to avoid them, but they seemed to hone in on her, following her wherever she flew.

She finally had enough and tried to shoot each of them down with her laser vision.

The man smirked. This was starting to get fun. Suddenly his ears twitched at the familiar sound of lightning getting closer behind him.

At the last second, the man pivoted and narrowly avoided a supersonic punch from Wally. Wally just passed by him like a freight train.

Running up behind him, the man made a bunch of quick jabs at Wally's back, hitting pressure points that caused Wally to lose control of his body temporarily and fall to the ground, still wide awake.

"What did you do to me?" Wally asked, unable to move anything but his head.

"Several quick jabs that leave you incapacitated. Handy, don't you think? Here's something to keep in mind. Your speed is blinding you. Don't rely solely on that, and never leave an opening for your opponent,"

The man smirked as he heard the subtle vibrations behind him. "Guess my time's up,"

He was then blasted by a vibrational blast and sent flying to a bank of snow, where he remained still.

"How did that work?" Cisco asked when he came out of hiding.

"I don't think it did, but get him under lockdown before he wakes up again," Wally said.

"On it," Cisco picked up the body and breached them out of there to place him under holding in the Pipeline.

"Wait! I still can't move!" Wally shouted as Cisco disappeared.

Barry was wandering around in this dream fantasy, trying to make sense of this world. He left the building he was in, and made his way outside.

Usually in a musical, there's a flashback to answer any questions the audience might have. Barry was pretty sure this wasn't going to be the case for him.

Barry is still reeling from the shock that Caitlin was gone in this world. In his mind. Whatever this place is.

Barry was mindlessly strolling through the city when he unconsciously entered an apartment that must be his own by the time it was dark. It was like he'd done this everyday. Even pulling out the right key for the door.

As Barry entered the apartment, he pulled out the newspaper from his pocket and looked at the headline again. Where is she? Why would she leave without any explanation?

The sound of someone unlocking the door caused Barry to turn around and see Cisco.

"Hey," Barry greeted him. "How was your day?"

"Just a bunch of idiots who almost lost our cargo. You know how it is for people like us,"

"People like us?" Barry asked.

"You know. Do I have to spell it out to you? Those of us in the… free trade business,"

"Smuggling?" Barry asked in shock.

"Yeah. What's the matter with you?" The Cisco lookalike said. He then caught sight of the newspaper in Barry's hand.

"Don't tell me you're still wasting your time on that chick," Cisco bemoaned. "She left you high and dry. Forget about her."

"I can't," Barry argued. "I love her. And she loves me."

"If she loved you so much, she wouldn't be hiding from you, would she?"

"I'm going to find her."

"Yeah? Good luck with that." Cisco waved him off and made his way into his room.

Barry looked down at the picture of Caitlin on the newspaper, before looking out the window.

Suddenly there was a hot pain in his throat. This sensation caused him to open his mouth and belt out a song.

I know you're somewhere out there.

Somewhere far away.

I want you back. I want you back.

My neighbours think I'm crazy, but they don't understand.

You're all I had. You're all I had.

At night when the stars light up my room

I sit by myself talking to the moon.

Trying to get to you.

In hopes you're on the other side talking to me too.

Or am I a fool, who sits alone talking to the moon?

I'm feeling like I'm famous. The talk of the town.

They say I've gone mad. Yeah, I've gone mad.

But they don't know what I know

Cause when the sun goes down someone's talking back. Yeah they're talking back.

At night when the stars light up my room

I sit by myself talking to the moon.

Trying to get to you.

In hopes you're on the other side talking to me too.

Or am I a fool, who sits alone talking to the moon?

Do you ever hear me calling?

Cause every night I'm talking to the moon.

Still trying to get to you.

In hopes you're on the other side talking to me too.

Or am I a fool, who sits alone talking to the moon?

I know you're somewhere out there. Somewhere far away…

As soon as the song ended, that burning feeling disappeared. "That was weird," Barry mumbled to himself.

But this was a musical. What did he expect?

The being had been detained in the Pipeline, but he didn't seem the least bit worried. In fact the moment he woke up, he just adjusted himself into a sitting position and sat there with a smile.

Caitlin came down to try to talk to him.

"What did you do?"

"Well, nice to see you too Ms. Caitlin Snow. Or would you prefer Ms. Frosty?" The being taunted her.

"Shut up. You don't get to call me that," Caitlin glared at him.

"Oh, right. Only your precious little Fleet Feet has that honour. But he's otherwise preoccupied. Sorry about that,"

"If you're really sorry, you would tell us how to get him out,"

"The way to get him out is nothing." he said. "There is nothing for you to do. The only one who can get Barry out of his head is himself. He's working on it as we speak."

"Why are you doing this?" Caitlin asked.

He smirked and gave a shrug. "Why does anyone do anything? Because I like him. He's interesting. And I have a feeling it's going to be pretty funny."

Caitlin continued to glare at him as she closed off the Pipeline. She made her way back to the Cortex. Wally was situated on a bed, but he was starting to get some feeling back into his body.

"I'm sorry about what happened to Barry, but if you want, we can take that guy back to our Earth. We're more equipped to deal with the extraterrestrials." Kara said.

"He stays here, until Barry wakes up. Because if Barry never wakes up, I want the pleasure making sure he doesn't either," Caitlin threatened.

"Okay, let's step away from the death threats." Cisco said to try to calm Caitlin down. "Barry is fine. He's basically just in a coma again. We don't know when he'll wake up, but we know he is okay. All we can do now is wait."

"I hate this," Caitlin shook her head. "I honestly thought now that Barry and I were together, everything was going to be better. Sure we had to deal with villains and death, but I thought we were going to do that together. And now he's stuck in his stupid head and I can't do anything to help him. I'm useless,"

"I know this sucks, but we just have to trust that Barry is going to get through this. And we are going to be by his side the entire time." Cisco said.

"I hope he's okay in there," Caitlin looked down at the still figure of her boyfriend.

"Whatever he's going through, I'm sure he can handle it."

"I can't handle this!" Barry shouted quietly to himself.

Days passed, whereas Barry knew it had only been seconds. In that time, he had occupied himself with searching for Caitlin Snow. She was out there waiting for him. He knew it. But he was getting nowhere.

And here Barry was in the corner of a bar. This would have been so much easier in the real world with his satellite, but that didn't work in his mind, so he'd been using his contacts as a smuggler to try to get information on Caitlin's whereabouts.

A person slid into the seat opposite to Barry. Their face was covered with sunglasses and a scarf, so Barry had no idea who it was.

"Bartholomew Allen?" they said in a gruff voice.

"Depends on who's asking,"

"I've been hearing you're looking for a certain someone?"

"Can you help me?"

"Depends. You're good for it?"

Barry pulled up the briefcase beside him. Opening it, Barry showed off hundreds of stacks of bills. "All yours if you can get me the information I need,"

"So who is it you're looking for exactly?" they asked as Barry closed the case.

"Her name is Caitlin Snow. She went missing about a month ago. I need you to find her." Barry slid a picture of Caitlin across the table.

The person looked at the photo, and Barry got the distinct feeling the person was smirking under the scarf. "I get paid upfront,"

"Take it, but I expect results. If not, I'm going to be extremely displeased," Barry wasn't really that concerned about the money. He knew this was all fake, but he had to keep acting the part.

The person took the case and opened it to count the bills. "I see her every now and then." the person said. "You can find her at this address," he scribbled something on a napkin and handed it to Barry. "Pleasure doing business with you,"

They got up and took the case with them. Like before, Barry wasn't that concerned. None of this was real, but he had to find Caitlin soon, otherwise he had no idea whether he'd ever get out of here.

Barry downed the rest of his drink and looked carefully at the address given to him. He had to find this place.

It took Barry some time, but Barry was finally able to find where the person had led him. The address was of a seedy motel not too far from where Barry's apartment is.

"I'm looking for someone. Have you ever seen this girl?" Barry showed the motel clerk the picture of Caitlin.

Barry wasn't sure what it was, but the motel clerk just shakily handed Barry a key with a number on it. This must be the room Caitlin was staying in, assuming these people were being truthful. They probably were though.

Honestly, it seemed like things were so much easier in a musical than in reality.

Barry found the room number simple enough and opened it with ease, but there was no one there.

The suitcase on the floor though indicated that someone had been here, and would be returning sometime soon.

Barry took a look around though to make sure that this was Caitlin and not someone else.

On the wardrobe there was a single bracelet. It was beautiful, and Barry was suddenly pulled into a flashback of Barry gifting the exact same bracelet to Caitlin with a smile.

"One of a kind bracelet, for a one of a kind girl." Barry heard himself say as Caitlin clipped the jewelry on her wrist.

Barry returned to his own body still staring at the bracelet. This was Caitlin's. She's here.

The door opened and Barry whirled around to come face to face with the woman he loves. Caitlin Snow.

When Caitlin looked up, she was so shocked she dropped what was in her arms, which appeared to be a bag of groceries. "You're here, Fleet Feet." she whispered.

"Expecting someone else Ms. Frosty?" Apparently, he would subconsciously always have Caitlin call him Fleet Feet, and him to return with his own nickname. It was comforting in a sense.

"I thought I'd have more time,"

"You think I wouldn't find you? You haven't even left the city."

"You probably didn't even really find me. You probably had someone else do it for you." Caitlin accused him.

"How would you know that?"

"Because I know you! You'd assume I'd have gotten away from everything, you'd look everywhere but right in front of you."

"Hiding in plain sight. Of course. Should have known. Oldest trick in the book,"

Caitlin shrugged. "It worked didn't it?"

"That doesn't matter. What matters is that you left me. And I want answers. We promised each other it would be us against the world. We would leave this place together, but then you didn't show up. I want to know why."

"It's too complicated. You would never understand. I couldn't,"

"Explain it to me. I thought you loved me. I was willing to give you the world, and you broke my heart."

"I do love you. Which is why I couldn't do that to you,"

"Just give it to me straight. Tell me the truth. Why did you never show up?"

Caitlin had a contemplative look on her face, and Barry thought she was about to tell him what happened, but at the last second, her face hardened. "I can't tell you,"

"What are you so afraid of?!" Barry shouted in anger. "What could have happened that made you abandon me?"

Caitlin flinched and was slowly backing away to the exit but Barry grabbed ahold of her shoulders before she could.

"Look at me, and talk to me, because despite what you did, after you left me looking like an idiot, I'm still in love with you and I need to understand why you're not,"

Caitlin tilted her head to look up at him and closed the gap between them and kissed him on the lips.

Barry was fast to reciprocate.

Caitlin pushed him back onto the bed where they sat down and just embraced each other.

There was soft piano music playing in the background and a familiar burning sensation filled up Barry again.

Lying here with you so close to me.

It's hard to fight these feelings when it feels so hard to breath.

I'm caught up in this moment. I'm caught up in your smile.

I've never opened up to anyone.

So hard to hold back when I'm holding you in my arms.

No, we don't need to rush this. Let's just take this slow.

Just a kiss on your lips in the moonlight.

Just a touch of the fire burning so bright.

No, I don't want to mess this thing up.

No, I don't want to push too far.

Just a shot in the dark that you just might

Be the one I've been waiting for my whole life.

So baby I'm alright, with just a kiss goodnight.

I know that if we give this a little time

It'll only bring us closer to the love we want to find.

It's never felt so real.

No, it's never felt so right.

No, I don't want to say goodnight.

I know it's time to leave, but you'll be in my dreams

Tonight

Tonight

Tonight

Just a kiss on your lips in the moonlight.

Just a touch of the fire burning so bright.

No, I don't want to mess this thing up.

No, I don't want to push too far.

Just a shot in the dark that you just might

Be the one I've been waiting for my whole life.

So baby I'm alright.

Oh, let's do this right, with just a kiss goodnight.

With a kiss goodnight.

Kiss goodnight.

The two people, man and woman, held on to each other as the song died down and let the darkness overtake them.

So in case you didn't know, the first song is 'Talking to the Moon' by Bruno Mars. Obviously only Barry is singing. The second song is 'Just a Kiss' by Lady A, previously known as Lady Antebellum. The bolded are Barry, the italics are Caitlin, and bolded italics are both of them singing.

Obviously I've created this new world for Duet. I wanted to include Kara in the musical, but she just didn't fit into what I was hoping for. I had to make this musical from scratch, and I don't recommend it. If you are going to make a musical, actually make it a musical. Don't make it so one of the characters knows everything is fake. Maybe I should've had Barry develop amnesia when he came. That would've been better, but too late for that now.

I'll see you all next week.
