"When can I hit people again?" Santana muttered emptying the grocery bags onto to the counter.
"Never mija, you are not supposed to hit anyone." Maribel shook her head.
"But they keep looking at me." Santana frowned.
"And it will get worse before it gets better, people will judge you, it's up to you whether you hold your head high and ignore them or sink to their level." Maribel said as she began stocking their pantry.
"I'm 15 why do I have to be the bigger person?" Santana mumbled.
"You will be 16 soon and a mother, sorry mija but you will need to handle things like an adult."
"I know." Santana muttered. "Finn and I are looking at OSU, I mean we still have no idea what we want to do but at least we know where we want to go."
"Part of a plan is still a plan, and I know you'll figure it out, you still have two years." Maribel promised.
"College with two toddlers..." Santana rubbed her temples exhaling.
"They have daycare, and your father and I already said we'd pay rent and buy your books so you don't need to worry about that, just focus on the now." Maribel joined Santana at the counter, "You and Finn are about to become parents, that and school is where you need to focus."
"I'm going to start tutoring for Spanish, easy way to make money and it's something I can continue doing in college." Santana told her mom, Tina had told her tutors made a good amount of money if they were good "I have money I made with the Cheerios, I'm going to help the guys with a project they're doing but the rest I'm going to use for the babies."
"See, you have a plan, just take it one day at a time." Maribel gave her daughter a quick squeeze before going back to putting the groceries away. "It's not going to be easy but we will be here for you."
"I know, thank you Mami."
"You boys are doing a nice thing." Burt said checking through the main tool box at the garage. "Gives him a chance to be involved on his terms."
"It was Puck and Tina's idea really." Finn said trying not to take the credit "Puck just needs my help to build it."
"And you could have said no, but you didn't." Burt pointed out as Finn followed him around the garage. "You boys have come a long way from your freshman year." Finn shrugged still embarrassed by his past behavior. "Be proud of how much you've grown, some people spend their whole lives never learning and growing, you boys know you want something more out of life and you're trying to change."
"Thanks Burt."
"And don't be afraid to ask for help." Burt rested his hand on Finn's shoulder, "You kids have us to help you out when things get tough, if you need more hours let me know, less? Same thing." Finn nodded, his mom and Santana's parents kept telling them the same thing. "Alright, now you didn't say at dinner so, how did practice go?"
"Nobody's better than Kurt, so he's back as our kicker, I'm a lineman."
"I thought you were the quarterback?" Burt asked concerned.
"Well... Sam's better than me so I thought I'd try something new, I'm also on special teams with Kurt, just like before I get the snap and set it for his kick."
"I look forward to the first game." Burt nodded.
"It'll be weird without Santana yelling at us and the Cheerios." Finn chuckled.
"I'm sure she'll be there."
"She said she would." Finn nodded. "I'm scared I'm going to screw this up, what if they hate me?"
"They?"
"The Beans, I mean they could, they could like Santana more than me..."
"I promise your babies won't hate you, they're going to cry, a lot, but that's how they let you know things. Some babies don't mind a dirty diaper but then you have babies like Kurt, the second that diaper was wet he screamed."
"I can imagine." Finn chuckled "Kurt's a neat freak."
"That he is." Burt chuckled nodding his head "He was easy to potty train, feeding himself however was a mess, he wanted to do it all himself amd then he'd get upset that his face was dirty." Burt smiled at the memory of a food covered Kurt. "I recommend lots of laundry soap and lots of diapers and no matter how much she fusses about you doing something, do it, change the diapers, feed the babies."
"I will." Finn promised.
"Mom's are stubborn but they need help and don't be afraid to ask for help, babies are tough."
"I promise."
"Okay." Burt patted Finn's shoulder.
"So they're just building these for you?" Mrs. Abrahms eyed Artie.
"Yes, this one with pedals means I'll be able to go and not have someone push me all the time." Artie showed his mom the pictures.
"Why?"
"Why, what?" Artie asked confused.
"Why are they building these chairs for you, what's in it for them?"
"I get to run with them." Artie shrugged not understanding.
"There is something more."
"There's not, they're trying to make me more of the team, I already help Puck by the the sled pull, his speed has increased and so has his history grade, I tutor him while we work out. He's not the guy he used to be, none of us are. And Santana's going to tutor me for free next year in Spanish."
"The pregnant girl?"
"Yes." Artie nodded. "Mom I have friends now, not just people in the same clubs as me, actual friends who accept me for me and just want to help me do everything I can. Like Sam, the new boy, he saw a guy in a marathon with one of these chair." Artie showed his mom the hand pedaled chair "I mean I never thought of something like that. They're good kids Mom, I promise, just give them a chance."
Sighing Mrs. Abrahms stood up, kissing the top of Artie's head she promised "I'll try."
"Thanks Mom."
"Quinnie?"
"Yes?" Quinn called over her shoulder before return her attention to trying to change her squirming daughter's diaper "Not gonna lie honey, mommy liked it better when you didn't try to escape."
Laughing Judy joined Quinn on the living room floor. "You use to do the same thing." getting the baby's attention Judy kept her occupied while Quinn finished with the diaper. "I was wondering if you'd like to invite the Changs over for dinner so I can formally meet Mike's parents."
"Oh, uh...okay." Quinn stumbled through her thoughts, her parents never met any of her friends parents, "It may take some time they both have busy schedules." Quinn said truthfully.
"I understand." Judy nodded.
"Maybe coffee with his mom and then you guys can plan something?" Quinn suggested seeing the disappointment in her mother's eyes. Her mother had lost many so called friends in the divorce, the women she knew were all the wives of her ex-husbands business associates.
"That would be nice." Judy nodded.
"We were going for a walk around the park this morning would you like to come?" Quinn asked "Then we could hit the Lima Bean for coffee."
"I would love that." Judy smiled. "I'll go get ready."
