WWE WrestleMania 23 was live at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. In the first match that aired, Edge, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, King Booker (with Queen Sharmell), Mr. Kennedy, Matt Hardy, Finlay, and CM Punk competed in the third annual Money in the Bank ladder match. The match featured many notable spots, including points where Edge performed the Spear on all the other opponents, followed by Orton doing the same by performing the RKO later in the match. Kennedy missed a Kenton Bomb, landing on a ladder, and received a Swanton Bomb from Jeff. Several dangerous ladders spots were also featured, including Orton performing an RKO on Punk off a ladder, and Booker performing a Book End to Orton off the ladder as well.
Midway through the match, Jeff climbed a fifteen-foot-high ladder inside the ring and on his brother, Matt's urging, he performed a leg drop off of that ladder onto Edge, through another ladder bridged between the ring apron and the barricade. They were carried off on stretchers by the paramedics. Later, when Booker was about to retrieve the contract briefcase, Matt held Booker's wife, Sharmell as a hostage, threatening to perform a Twist of Fate on her. Booker went to her aid and received the Twist of Fate from Matt. Finlay fought Matt for some time in the ring, and also performed the Celtic Cross to Matt onto a ladder.
Finlay's associate Hornswoggle emerged from under the ring and attempted to retrieve the briefcase for Finlay. He was stopped by Kennedy, who performed his Green Bay Plunge on Hornswoggle. Kennedy went on to win the match, only after knocking Punk off a ladder by hitting him with another ladder.
The next match was billed as a "SmackDown versus RAW Interpromotional match". RAW's The Great Khali faced SmackDown's Kane. It was a short match but contained a notable spot. In homage to Hulk Hogan slamming André the Giant twenty years earlier at WrestleMania III, Kane picked up Khali for the first time and body-slammed him to the mat. The match ended with Khali hittinga double-handed Chokeslam to win the match. Afterwards, he choked Kane with the hook chain Kane used in his movie See No Evil.
A backstage segment was featured next, which involved Cryme Tyme persuading Eugene to dance with Extreme Expose instead he danced with Mae Young and The Fabulous Moolah, who were dressed as strippers as Cryme Tyme danced with Extreme Exposé. Also featured in the segment were WWE Legends Slick, Ricky Steamboat, Jimmy Hart, Irwin R. Schyster, Dusty Rhodes, Sgt. Slaughter, Howard Finkel, Gene Okerlund, Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco, many of whom had not been seen on television in years until Farooq interrupted the festivities with his signature "DAMN!" catchphrase.
In the third match, it was a WrestleMania 22 rematch as the Jackal and John Cena battled for the second time in a row at WrestleMania. This whole thing began when Cena eliminated Jackal from the Royal Rumble, leading to Jackal attacking Cena and eliminating him from the Rumble. Over the following weeks the two brawled and had matches but they always ended badly due to the two wanting to tear each other apart. Eventually a match between them was made for WrestleMania. At thee event the two battled until both were bleeding from the forehead and exhausted. the match came to an end when Jackal hit a Spear to pick up the victory.
Chris Benoit faced Montel Vontavious Porter for the United States Championship. The match started off with a chain of takedowns, holds, and reversals, with MVP keeping up with Benoit, even going for some submission holds. The match lasted almost ten minutes, with Benoit attempting to lock in some of his signature submission holds, but MVP successfully reversed them, including the Crippler Crossface. The two exchanged suplexes and holds until Benoit executed a Diving headbutt on MVP, which led to Benoit getting the pinfall victory to retain the WWE United States Championship.
Long-time ring announcer Howard Finkel then introduced the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2007. The next match featured Batista defending the World Heavyweight Championship against The Undertaker. Undertaker's entrance was without pyro due to it prematurely igniting during an earlier match, catching part of the stage on fire, which was put out with fire extinguishers. The match started with Batista performing a Spear on Undertaker as the bell sounded. The match went back and forth, with both men countering each other and performing their finishers. Undertaker performed a Chokeslam, but Batista kicked out of the pinfall attempt. Undertaker was then able to perform a Last Ride to Batista for a near-fall.
Midway through the match, Undertaker performed an Over The Top Rope Suicide Dive on Batista. At one point, Batista was able to perform a running powerslam on Undertaker through a broadcast table. Back in the ring, Batista executed a Spinebuster followed by a Batista Bomb for a near-fall. Undertaker then pinned Batista following a Tombstone piledriver to become the World Heavyweight Champion and emerge from WrestleMania with his winning streak intact. The Undertaker's win made him the first wrestler to have won both the World Heavyweight Championship and the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.
The ECW Originals (Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Tommy Dreamer, and The Sandman) took on The New Breed (Elijah Burke, Kevin Thorn, Marcus Cor Von, and Matt Striker) next. The match started off with Cor Von working over Sabu. That changed when Cor Von tagged Striker, who missed an elbow after whipping Sabu into the ropes, allowing Sandman to get tagged. Sandman dominated Striker, and eventually tagged Van Dam.
Van Dam used also dominated Striker but was poked in the eye, allowing Striker to tag in Burke. Burke had early success, but Van Dam regained the advantage and tagged Sandman again. Sandman worked on Burke until tagging Dreamer. Dreamer also beat down Burke until Cor Von received a blind tag and hit Dreamer from behind. Cor Von attacked Dreamer relentlessly and went over and punched Sabu, which distracted the referee and allowed Dreamer to be triple-teamed by Thorn, Burke, and Striker. Cor Von tagged in Burke who almost pinned Dreamer.
Thorn entered next and almost performed his finishing move called the Original Sin. Dreamer managed to escape but was unable to tag his partners. Thorn tagged in Cor Von again who also almost pinned Dreamer. Cor Von tagged Thorn again, and Thorn resumed the beat down on Dreamer. Thorn tagged Striker next, and Striker attempted a suplex that Dreamer blocked and Dreamer suplexed Striker instead. Striker did not try to tag his partners and tried to stop Dreamer, but Dreamer tagged in Sabu.
Sabu began to manhandle Striker and executed a leg drop from the top rope. Van Dam was then tagged in. Burke broke up Van Dam's pin attempt, which led to all competitors entering the ring. While the referee was distracted, Ariel gave Striker a chair. But Van Dam gave Striker an Van Daminator when he kicked the chair into Striker's face. Van Dam pinned Striker after a Five-Star Frog Splash to win the match for The Originals.
The match that WWE billed as the "Battle of the Billionaires" was next, as Umaga (accompanied by Vince McMahon and his handler Armando Alejandro Estrada) fought Bobby Lashley (accompanied by Donald Trump). Stone Cold Steve Austin served as the special guest referee. Trump was attended to by Tara Connor. Midway through the match, Austin was attacked by Umaga, causing him to become incapacitated and was taken out of the match for several minutes. Shane McMahon, who attempted to replace him as the referee, called the match while being biased toward Umaga. After Umaga got a near-fall on Lashley, Austin pulled Shane out of the ring, gave him a Stunner, and continued refereeing the match. Lashley won the match after a Stunner from Austin and a Spear. After the match, Trump and Lashley shaved Vince's head bald, followed by Austin executing a Stunner on Trump
The next match was Melina against Ashley in a Lumberjill Match for the WWE Women's Championship. The match was short, as Melina Bridge pinned Ashley to retain the title. After the match, the lumberjills began brawling in the ring.
Next up was the WWE Championship match.

The memory will never die
The song starts to slow and fade as the final image is of Bladewolf and Michaels staring each other down, the WWE Championship in between them, WrestleMania 23 logo hanging in the background...
In the arena, Shawn Michaels' 'Sexy boy' theme hits to a loud pop and out comes the Heartbreak kid without his World tag Team Championship. Shawn does his usual entrance and prays on the stage before getting to his feet and walks down the long ramp towards the ring with a determined look on his face. He was determined to beat the Bladewolf tonight and win the WWE Championship again.
Shawn makes it to the ring and enters, doing his usual pose before his theme dies down and he paces back and fourth as he waits for the WWE Champion.
Suddenly a figured dressed in black, wearing a motorcycle helmet with the dark visor down, sitting on a custom-looking Chopper that was a replica of the 2007 Ghost Rider motorcycle, was shown somewhere in the city of Detroit before they drove off down the street, turning sharp corners and soon coming to a stop outside Ford field where the driver turns his head to look at the arena before he drove off down an entryway into the arena.
Soon enough he came into the arena, driving straight through a glass WrestleMania 23 logo and the motorcycle came to a stop before the engine cut off.
OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!
The Devil's Wolf plays to a loud pop and the lights dim to a blood red, casting a sinister glow as the person removes the helmet to reveal...THE BLADEWOLF! Bladewolf gets off the motorcycle and removes the dark attire to reveal his ring gear and the WWE Championship around his waist. He tosses the helmet aside and adjusts his wolf mask before he gets onto the stage and starts making his way down the ramp towards the ring.
Bladewolf takes his title off halfway down the ramp, putting it over his shoulder and he slides into the ring and stands up, raising the WWE Championship to loud cheers from the fans.
Bladewolf's theme dies down as Bladewolf stands in the corner across from Michaels who stares him down. "The following contest is scheduled for one-fall and it is for the WWE Championship!" Lillian Garcia announced to cheers from the fans. "introducing the challenger, first, from San Antonio, Texas, he is D-generation X member and one half of the World Tag Team Champions...SHAWN MICHAELS!"
Shawn gives Bladewolf a DX chop.
"And from Death Valley, weighing 310 lbs, he is one half of the World Tag Team Champions and the WWE Champion...THE BLADEWOLF!"
Bladewolf raises the WWE Championship without taking his eyes off Michaels. Lillian leaves the ring as Bladewolf hands his title to the referee who raise sit to show it is on the line before he hands it to someone at ringside as the Bladewolf and Shawn Michaels walk forward to go eye to eye. Shawn then taunts Bladewolf by doing the cutthroat taunt, making the Bladewolf angry as he backed up into the corner, as does Michaels just as the referee calls for the bell.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Bladewolf charges at Michaels and goes for a hard right but Michaels ducked it, gets Bladewolf into the corner and hits some big chest chops. Bladewolf grabs Michaels by the throat with both hands and tossed Michaels into the corner, unloading with lefts and rights on Michaels before he uppercuts Michaels which floors the Heartbreak kid to the mat.
Bladewolf grabs Michaels around the waist and goes for a German Suplex but Michaels lands on his feet and fakes a leg injury which causes the referee to step in and halt Bladewolf, giving Michaels the chance to hit a running forearm on the WWE Champion, hammering away at his masked face until Bladewolf shoves him off. Bladewolf getsto his feet, tackles Michaels into the corner and hits some shoulder thrusts to the stomach then works over the left arm of The Heartbreak Kid, tries to go up top, but Michaels keeps cutting him off.
Bladewolf knees Michaels in the stomach, gets behind him and hits a German Suplex across the ring. Michaels got to his feet and backed off from the Demon Wolf who watched him coldly.
Michaels jumped on the Bladewolf and got a few rights and lefts in. Michaels then lifted Bladewolf over the top rope to the outside. Michaels takes out Bladewolf with a kick to the back of the head and then goes back up to the ring apron...AND LEAPS OFF WITH A MOONSAULT BUT HE LANDS ON THE ANNOUNCE TABLE! BLADEWOLF MOVED OUT OF THE WAY!
Bladewolf was on his side, breathing heavily, before he gets to his feet and walks over to grab Michaels by the hair and tosses him back into the ring. Bladewolf climbs up to the top rope with Michaels unaware of this. Michaels stumbles to his feet and turns around...INTO A FLYING CLOTHESLINE!
Bladewolf gets to his feet and flips his hair back before he walks over and hits a leg drop across Michaels' throat and goes for the cover but Michaels kicks out at two. Bladewolf gets to his feet and grabs Michaels, pulling him to his feet and goes for an Irish whip but Michaels reverses it and sends Bladewolf into the corner, runs and leaps at him where Michaels hammers away at Bladewolf's head, forcing the WWE Champion to cover up as Michaels gets on the second rope to continue the assault before he gets down then hits a chop to the chest.
Michaels Irish whips Bladewolf off the ropes but Bladewolf reverses it and Michaels comes back, ducking a right and goes for one of his own only for Bladewolf to grab his fist and stare him down before he twists Michaels' arm then grabs him with both hands by the neck and tosses him into the corner, right onto the top turnbuckle which sends Michaels out onto the ring apron.
Bladewolf walks forward but is met with a right hand from Michaels. Michaels gets to the top rope as Bladewolf looks at him, then Michaels does the DX chop and Bladewolf goes for a right only for Michaels to leap over him but Bladewolf saw this and grabbed him from behind and tosses him back into the corner where the Bladewolf starts hammering away with powerful lefts and rights to the head and stomach, anywhere he can hit that would weaken Shawn Michaels.
Michaels stumbles forward right into a hard shot to the jaw that floors the Heartbreak Kid. Bladewolf gets Michaels into the corner and hits several punches to the arms of Michaels and even pulled on it once it was hanging over the top rope then he boots Michaels in the stomach and starts stomping away on Michaels in the corner with hard, aggressive stomps.
Bladewolf picks Michaels up and gives him a headbutt, then pulls Michaels close for a belly-to-belly but Michaels headbutts Bladewolf then kicks the right knee which sends Bladewolf down to a knee. Michaels stomps on the right knee, knowing he needs to take out the legs as that takes out the power in Bladewolf. Michaels continues to stomp on the right knee of the Bladewolf, leaning it against the bottom rope before he jumps up and gives it a hard stomp which makes Bladewolf yell in pain as he clutches his ankle. Michaels keeps up the assault on the knee. Michaels continues to work on the bad knee of the Bladewolf for a while. Bladewolf then uses the ropes to hold himself up to get in some right hands on Michaels. Shawn Michaels fights off the right hands and goes after Bladewolf's bad leg along with some chest chops. Michsels missed a charge on Bladewolf and hit his head on the ring post, while Bladewolf fell to the mat and favored his left knee.
Bladewolf slaps it a few times and gets to his feet, limping a little, and floors Michaels with a hard right to the jaw. Bladewolf rebounds off the ropes and hits a running elbow drop to Michaels' chest, going for the pin but gets a two count.
Bladewolf grabs Michaels' right leg and gives it a hard stomp, then a kick, knowing this was the leg he mostly used for Sweet Chin Music. Bladewolf drops an elbow down to the knee, causing Michaels to yell in pain before Bladewolf tries going for the Grapevine Ankle Lock only to be kicked back by Michaels who gets to his feet but turns into a big boot from the Bladewolf.
Bladewolf stomps on Michaels before picking him up and tossed him into the corner, runs and hits a turnbuckle clothesline then scoops Michaels up but Michaels slides off and Bladewolf turns around into a chop to the chest which gets him in the corner and Michaels hits several more chops until Bladewolf ducks one then boots Michaels in the side of the head before he hits a reverse elbow in the side of the head, Michaels was busted open at this point, blood going down his face.
Bladewolf grabs Michaels and lifts him up and hits a running Powerslam for a two count. Bladewolf hammers away at the cut on Michaels' forehead before he headbutts Michaels then gets to his feet. Bladewolf adjusts his right elbow pad before he grabs Michaels by the throat and pulls him to his feet. Bladewolf lifts Michaels up but he gets out of the Bladewolf's grip and Bladewolf turns around...INTO SWEET CHIN MUSIC! MICHAELS HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE! TWO! THR-! BLADEWOLF KICKS OUT!
Michaels gets to his feet and starts tuning up the band as Bladewolf gets to his feet. Michaels goes for Sweet Chin Music again but Bladewolf ducks...AND MICHAELS HITS THE REFEREE!
Michaels looked down at the referee before he turns around only to be lifted up onto the Bladewolf's shoulders...AND HIT WITH THE FURY OF THE WOLF! HE HOOKS THE LEGS!...BUT THERE'S NO REFEREE!
Bladewolf glances at the knocked out referee and yells in frustration as he punches the mat before he gets to his feet walks over and drops an elbow across the referee's back, knocking him out for a while. Bladewolf rolls out the ring and picks up a steel chair and he slides back into the ring and turns, chair in front of him...BT MICHAELS SUPERKICKS THE CHAIR INTO HIS FACE!
Both men fall down now but Michaels makes it to his feet first. Michaels grabs the steel chair and watches the Bladewolf stumble to his feet and turn around...INTO A CHAIR SHOT TO THE SKULL!
Michaels tosses the chair aside and sees the referee still knocked out which makes him curse before he kicks Bladewolf out the ring and follows him, walking over to the steel steps and takes the top part off. Michaels grabs Bladewolf and brings him over before kicking him in the stomach...AND HITS A DDT ON THE STEPS!
Michaels and Bladewolf laid there, their chests rising and falling. Michels gets to his feet first and grabs the Bladewolf, tossing him back into the ring. Michaels slides into the ring and Michaels, seeing the referee coming around and getting to his feet, goes forward...AND NAILS BLADEWOLF WITH SWEET CHIN MUSIC AGAIN! MICHAELS HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE!...TWO!...THRE-! BLADEWOLF KICKS OUT AGAIN!
The two men laid there, exhausted. Michaels got to his feet first, using the ropes to help him to his feet. Michaels starts going up to the top rope, slipping a little, he made it to the top rope...WHEN THE BLADEWOLF SITS UP!
Bladewolf gets to his feet, Michaels jumps off...BUT BLADEWOLF CAUGHT HIM BY THE THROAT! Bladewolf lifts Michaels up...AND HITS A BIG CHOKESLAM! BLADEWOLF HOOKS THE LEG! ONE! TWO! THRE-! MICHAELS KICKS OUT!
Bladewolf looked wide eyed behind his mask as he couldn't believe it before he gets to his feet, grabs Michaels and lifts him onto his right shoulder but Michaels slides off and Bladewolf turned around, caught Michaels by the foot before he could hit Sweet Chin Music again, grabs Michaels by the throat but Michaels slaps his arm away...AND HITS SWEET CHIN MUSIC AGAIN! Michaels, weakened, is only able to get an arm over Bladewolf's chest! ONE! TWO! THRE-! BLADEWOLF KICKS OUT AGAIN!
Both men laid there as the fans were cheering this on, enjoying every single bit of the performance these two men were putting on for them. Michaels...KIPS UP! Michaels leans against the ropes for a few seconds before he walks over and bends down to grab Bladewolf...BUT BLADEWOLF SUDDENLY GRABS HIM BY THE THROAT! Bladewolf gets to his feet before he kicks Michaels in the gut, sets him up onto his shoulders...AND HITS THE LAST RIDE! HE HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE! TWO! THRE-! MICHAELS KICKS OUT AGAIN!
Bladewolf throws a fit of frustration at this as he slaps the mat in frustration before leaning his head against the mat then gets to his feet, flipping his hair back. He goes up to the top rope and...JUMPS OFF FOR AN ELBOW DRO-! MICHAELS MOVED OUT THE WAY!
Bladewolf landed hard on the mat for the Elbow drop. He clutched his elbow, groaning in pain, and rolls over to the ropes. He starts getting to his feet using the ropes when he sees Michaels running at him and side-steps him, sending Michaels over the top rope but Bladewolf grabs his legs and pulls him back, getting him into a upside down position...AND HITS THE TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER! HE HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE! TWO! THRE-! MICHAELS KICKED OUT!
Bladewolf had a wide eyed stare that a cameramen outside got a good shot off. Bladewolf rolled onto his back, nearly utterly spent at this moment. he gets to his feet, shaking his head, before he grabs Michaels and scoops him onto his shoulders...BUT MICHAELS COUNTERS IT INTO A DDT!
Michaels pulls his body towards the corner and fights his way to the top turnbuckle, his body hurt, exhausted, but he was still going. It was his desire to avenge the loss at WrestleMania 14, to become WWE Champion again. Michaels gets to the top rope before he jumps off...AND HITS THE ELBOW DROP TO BLADEWOLF'S CHEST!
Michaels gets to his feet and stumbles to a corner where he begins tuning up the band as Bladewolf weakly starts getting to his feet. Bladewolf eventually gets to his feet and turns around...INTO SWEET CHIN MUSIC AGAIN! HE HOOKS THE LEG! ONE! TWO! THRE-! BLADEWOLF KICKS OUT ONCE MORE!
Michaels couldn't believe it! he almost felt like crying in anger! Michaels fights to his feet and shakes his head as he starts tuning up the band again, rousing the Bladewolf to his feet. Bladewolf does so and turns around...INTO SWEET CHIN MU-! NO! HE GRABS MICHAEL'S FOOT! Bladewolf trips Michaels up, rolls him over...AND LOCKS IN THE GRAPEVINE ANKLE LOCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING!
Michaels yells in pain as he writhes around, trying to find the ropes but it was in the middle of the ring, there was nowhere for him to go! Bladewolf had his legs wrapped around the ankle and was almost breaking the ankle. Michaels felt his ankle almost begin to break...SO HE TAPS OUT! MICHAELS TAPS OUT!
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
The Devil's Wolf plays as Bladewolf falls onto his back, laying there as the referee got the WWE Championship for him. Bladewolf slowly sits up, exhausted. He gets onto his knees and is handed the WWE Championship. He gets to his feet, flipping his hair back and he looks at the WWE Championship before he gets to a knee and does the Undertaker salute like his brother did earlier, fireworks go off as graphics show 9-0.
Bladewolf gets to his feet and rolls out the ring with his title in hand and heads up the ramp, feeling like falling over from how exhausted he was. Bladewolf stops on the stage and looks back before he raises the arm holding the WWE Championship before he heads backstage...
And that's it for this chapter everyone. i hope you all enjoyed the match and how long I tried to make it. I wanted to make it something that would rival other great matches like John Cena vs The Rock, Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 25 and WrestleMania 26.

Bio: At a young age, George watched WWE and dreamed of being a WWE Superstar. When he was in his teens, he trained to be a wrestler, soon ending up with a gimmick, a name, and working at small wrestling shows under the name 'The Bladewolf'. In September 1997, he was approached by Jim Ross about a contract with the WWF and George accepted, having his tryout match at the WWF's UK One Night Only PPV where the Bladewolf made his debut and proceeded to destroy Tiger Ali Singh in dominating fashion as part of the character and win the match, starting the beginning of George's big time wrestling career.
Over the next few weeks, Bladewolf would face superstar after superstar and defeat them in quick, dominating fashion. He defeated Dude Love at Badd Blood: in Your House, Triple H at Survivor Series, Marc Mero at D-Generation X: in Your House, a feud that became real life issues due to George sleeping with Mero's real life wife, Sable, yet it was discovered Sable was being abused by Mero.
Back on screen, Bladewolf continued his path of destruction and after facing Kane and loosing his first match to Kane, Paul Bearer revealed that Bladewolf was in fact the lost, little brother of the Undertaker and Kane. Bladewolf would eventually come face to face with his brothers, stopping Kane from slapping Undertaker. As 1997 reached an end, Bladewolf showed a desire to be WWF Champion and on the final RAW of 1997 he faced Shawn Michaels for the title but won by DQ, but Michaels retaiend due to titles not changing hands by a DQ.
Bladewolf competed in the 1998 Royal Rumble, eliminating 8 superstars and came down to the final two with Stone Cold Steve Austin, but was eliminated.
