We enter corrie space. I kept a close eye on the doctor
"Doctor I wouldn't do that if I where you never know who may be watching." I growled as she went to stick a needle in his neck.
She put it down. I glared daggers at her.
We landed at the chancellors office.
"Greetings master Jedi. The chancellor is waiting inside," Max amedas said fives stared at me and I sent him a soft smile I activated the camera and mic. We walked into the chamber with the chancellor.
"Master Shaak Ti it is good to see you again. I trust you've kept this matter extremely confidential." The chancellor said
"Of course chancellor." She replied
"Ah, good so this is the clone who has cause so much alarm?" The chancellor asked fives snapped as best he could to attention ." Gaurds let him down please, now trooper what brings you before me?"
"The chips chancellor." Fives said
"Chips?" The chancellor said confused
"These were removed from both clone troopers." Ti said holding up two chips."clone trooper fives claims they are the cause of the problem."
"Those are inhibitor chips which are placed in clones to make them less aggressive and more compliant to orders. I tried to explain to this clone that they are placed in them for his own good, but he removed his chip nonetheless." Se said
"Our own good? This thing they put on us malfunctioned clone trooper Tup. I removed his and analyzed it. There were signs of rapid decay." Fives said
"And we're positive this has nothing to do with a virus?" The chancellor asked.
"No we still do not know for sure what caused trooper Tup to kill. We only know that his chip failed, and now this clone has removed his own chip, which makes him a risk to himself and others." Se said
"I'm not at risk. Sir they're covering something up I know it. If it's not them then it's a seperatist plot. They used this chip against us to make us more violent than less. That's why Tup killed General Tiplar!" Fives said
"A separatist plot from before the war even started? That seems unlikely. Don't you agree master Shaak Ti?" The chancellor asked
"It does chancellor.it seems very unlikely. " Ti said
"It is absolutely impossible what we have hee is a single malfunction to one clones inhibitor chip caused by a virus, Separatist plot or not.
"Perhaps it would be best if clone trooper Fives and I discussed this without your presence." The chancellor said
"Chancellor I must object" ti said
" please master Jedi trust me. I will not be alone. I have my security here. I want this soldier to feel he is having a fair say in this matter." The chancellor said
Ti nodded and we left the room. I kept an eye on both the camera.
"No! Let me go!" Palpatine shouted blasters fired "Gaurds!" We raced into the room fives had a blaster pointed at the chancellor
"No you!" Fives said Ti force threw him against some medical machinery and he sprinted off
"He tried to kill me. It was so sudden." The chancellor said. "You were right doctor. He must have gone mad without his chip." Ti ran after him I followed her.
"Fives stop!" She shouted."Fives!" She jumped over the rails. And followed after him I sprinted down the steps using my pack to find Ti with her hand on the blast door.
"I have recording of everything that happened on kamino all charts everything even what happened with the chancellor." I said" we need to take it to the temple."
"Of course" Ti said we took of to the temple in a speeder. We stood in the war room
"I can't believe Fives would try to assassinate the chancellor." Anakin said. I worked on uploading all of the files and the videos
"The kaminoans feel a virus corrupted the clones inhibitor chip, which had led to this behavior. Arc trooper Fives feels he is the victim of a plot, separatist or other wise."ti said
"All security and clone forces on Coruscant have been ordered to join the man hunt. The chancellor has been moved to his senate quarters and the perimeter has been secured. However Jedi involvement has not been requested." Windu said
"That's a little odd isn't it?" Anakin asked.
"Discover the truth we must young skywalker aid in finding your arc you will." Yoda said Anakin nodded and left the room
"Well we're about to find out why Trinity cue up the feed from the chancellors office." I barked to the Ai
The grainy video played along with some audio
"Your right but it isn't the seperatists I've planned this from the start. The clones someday will all turn on their Jedi and you'll be powerless to stop it" palpatine said
"Why are you telling me this." Fives asked
"Because no one will believe you." He replied smuggly." Attack"
The corrie guards attacked Fives he swung out at the nearest trooper.
"Very concerning this is the betrayal of the chancellor. Find more evidence we shall." Yoda said
"Join Skywalker in the search for Fives" Windu said
"look farther into this we must." Yoda said.
I nodded taking off I boarded a gunship loaded with Fox and some of his corrie guard.
"You must switch to stun got it we want this trooper alive." I barked. The corrie gaurd nodded collectively.
"A probe has him entering a warehouse in sector I-9" Fox said.
We took off to the warehouse. I felt a nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach as we descended."
"We're closing in on the target everyone get ready" Fox ordered.
We landed on the platform and fanned out creeping quietly into the warehouse.
"He's in on it! I don't know to what extent. But I know he orchestrated much of this. He told me in the medical bay!" Fives shouted
"He told you? When you tried to assassinate him?" Anakin shouted I crept closer to the voices an caught a visual Rex and Anakin were trapped by a ray shield.
"You have gone too far, Fives. The chancellor isn't capable of what you claim." Anakin shouted
"He is! I swear to you General you have no idea—" fives said Fox signaled at us to move in. The corrie argued trailed their blasters on fives.
"Stand down, soldier! Stand down! Get on your knees!" Fox barked.
"No! No! No! Stay back!" Fives shouted
"Don't do it Don't do it Soldier!" Fox shouted Fives looked at the discarded pistols. I whipped of my helmet.
"Get away from me!" He shouted he lunged for the blaster
"Fives no!" Rex shouted. Fives lifted the pistol a blaster shot rang through the air.
Fives sucked in a breathe and dropped the blaster a hole in his chest.
"Fives!" I shouted he fell to the ground gasping.
"Fives! Fives..." Rex said
"Get this ray shield off!" Anakin shouted I opens fired on the shield generator.
"Fives." Rex dropped to his knees besides the arc.
"Call for help! We need a medic!" I barked to the corrie gaurds I knelt down besides Rex
"Rex.." Five gasped
"Fives..." Rex replied
"This... it's bigger than any of us, than anything I could've imagined. I never meant to..." he reached for rexs shoulder and the clone captain leaned forward I stood up.
"Brother Fives stay with me.Fives!" Rex said the terror in his voice chilled me to my core."Fives!"
"The mission... the nightmares... they're... finally...over." The arc fell limp in Rexs arms. My lip quivered.
"Fives? No, Fives. Come on Fives, don't go! Stay with me. Stay with me. Fives! Fives! Don't go. No."Rex pleaded the corrie gaurd took of their helmets.They stood in a circle around the pair.
"Give them some space." I barked the guard backed up. I looked at Fox his gold eyes were wide with terror guilt and fear. He nearly collapsed to the floor when he met my gaze.I took his blaster. Two of his men brought him to the crates to sit down. He looked at Rex horrified. I turned my back to Rex and knelt infront of Fox
"Drink this I don't want you going into shock" I said passing him a canteen. He took a swig and pressed his hands to his face.
"Don't touch him" Rex snarled.
"Rex they have to take him." Anakin said soothingly. Rex hesitated before stepping away
I watched two medics place Fives body on a stretcher and they took him away.
We all boarded ships to base. The trip was silent only the occasional withering glares were thrown at Fox.
We landed on the airfield an Arc dressed in the signature 501st blue ran towards us
"Did you find him?" Victory asked. My heart got caught in my throat.
" He's didn't make it" Anakin said laying a comforting hand on the arcs shoulder. She made a noise I hadn't heard since Umbara. She was the last of the domino squad. It was ironic they fell like dominos
"Anakin the council needs you Rex and Lillee in the halls of healing now." Obi Wans voice piped up from Anakins comlink
"Right away master" Anakin replied I sent Victory a comforting nod and the three of us reboarded the ship. I stared blankly at the wall. The ship rocked as we landed.
We made our way wordlessly to the halls of healing.
"Masters" Anakin said respectfully.
"Generals." Rex replied with the same intent his voice was dull and lifeless
"Have proof we do that Arc Trooper Fives was correct" Yoda said.
"The chancellor has betrayed the republic. And unless we truly find out what these chips are for we won't have any hard proof other than a video recording." Windu said
"That's why you want me right you want to remove and analyze my chip." Rex said
"Yes we believe because your from one of the first batches we want to use you." Plo Koon said.
"Won't he loose it like Tup and Fives." Anakin asked
" General no disrespect but this is something I need to do." Rex said. I chuckled softly
"Then begin we will do you need to speak to anyone before we start" Yoda asked
"No sir." Rex said
Rex was eased onto a table and taken into surgery. We might have failed Fives but we now have hope for every clone left
