Remnant…
Scarlet looked out of the window of her room as she watched her father do…something. She couldn't tell what exactly he was doing as he sat crossed-legged on the grass. He had been doing this for several hours, and it was the first she had seen him do so.
She asked her mother what he was doing, and she was told that her father was meditating in preparation for a trip he was making soon. Scarlet wanted to know what that meant and where he was going, but she was told that she shouldn't worry about it.
"I still want to know what he's doing." Scarlet thought as she opened her window and jumped out since her house was one story. The Half Saiyan snuck up, trying to be sneaky as she watched her father.
"Scarlet, I know you're there," Jason smirked as Scarlet jumped.
"I forgot you could sense energy." Scarlet frowned as she approached her father.
"Is something wrong?" Jason asked.
"No, I just…well…what are you doing?" Scarlet inquired.
"Meditating, sweetheart. It's how I improve my energy control." Jason answered.
"No, what I meant is why are you doing it? Mom said you were going somewhere." Scarlet replied.
"I'm just preparing myself to help the Supreme Kai with something," Jason explained.
"But the big man said the universe was in danger, and you told me and the others to leave when you returned." Scarlet pointed out as Jason let out a sigh knowing he had to tell her.
"Alright, sit down, and let's talk." Jason requested as his daughter sat next to him.
"Do you remember the stories I told you about the battles I had in the past?" Jason asked as Scarlet nodded her head.
He had told her about all of his exploits over his twenty-four years of life, and it was one of her favorite things. Sometimes she would request Jason to tell her one as a bedtime story. Much like her father, she loved battle and loved hearing stories of battles.
"Well, something like those stories is about to happen again, and it's going to be dangerous. Your mother and I didn't tell you because we didn't want to scare you." Jason began.
"But your dad won't be alone in this fight, and I give you my word that I won't lose," Jason assured.
"Really?" Scarlet asked.
"I promise, and I never go back on my word," Jason promised as he placed his forehead on Scarlet's.
"Okay," Scarlet replied as they broke apart.
"So want to join me? I show you how to draw out energy?" Jason inquired as Scarlet beamed with excitement.
"REALLY?! But I thought you and mom didn't want me training until I was older?" Scarlet questioned as her tail wagged in anticipation.
"We don't want you training to fight until you were older. Learning to draw out your energy is completely different. Plus, this way, when your older, you'll be able to learn faster." Jason responded as Scarlet beamed with excitement.
He spent the next hour instructing his daughter how to draw out her energy, and once he was done, he went back to meditating while she practiced. After a few hours passed, Neo came out to find Scarlet when she spotted the two together.
She smiled at the sight as she returned inside to tend to her newborn, who was in need of feeding. Soon Scarlet was able to create a small ball of Ki no larger than a small marble, but it was still impressive for her first time at it.
It reminded Jason of his training way back on top of Kai's Mountain with Mura and Evan. For Jason, it took three whole months to make a ball of Ki appear even though he was a Saiyan. Guess it just goes to show the greater potential of Saiyan Hybrids.
"Impressive," Jason smirked as he stood up.
"I think that's enough for today. Let's head inside." Jason added.
"But I can still keep going! Scarlet complained.
"I know, but you don't want to rush these things. Take it slow and keep yourself well-rested. Also, pro-tip, when you get to making larger balls dispel the energy, don't throw it away or else well...it'll blow up." Jason advised.
Jason and Scarlet proceeded to go inside, and while Jason took over taking care of Roman, Scarlet joined her mother in taking a walk around town. Saiyatown had grown over the years since Jason and Neo got married.
Due to the reduced amount of Grimm around the world, people have progressively moved out of the major kingdoms. Saiyatown had been one of the many towns to be affected by this as it expanded much farther, creating more business.
Eventually, they were even able to hire seasoned huntsmen for the occasional Grimm that came around. As Neo and Scarlet walked through the streets, they are greeted by many of the other townsfolk.
Scarlet ran around, remaining in her mother's sight as she hopped around from benches to lampposts onto roofs then back to the ground. This was normal for Scarlet and Neo, as well as most of the townsfolk, were used to seeing the young Half Saiyan do so.
Eventually, the girl hopped off the roof and used her tail to grab onto a lamppost and flipped to the ground. When she rejoined her mother as they got to shop for a few items such as food, baby supplies and even look at some new clothes for Scarlet. As they finished, both began to walk back home.
"Hey, Momma?" Scarlet called, getting her mother's attention.
"What is it, dear?" Neo asked.
"Are you scared about Daddy going to fight the dangerous monster?" Scarlet inquired as Neo looked at her, a tad surprised that she knew about that. She chalked it off to her husband telling her.
"A little. I'm always scared that he may not come back from a fight. But I have faith that he'll return victorious. He always has, and I believe he always will." Neo explained.
"Daddy's that strong, right?" Scarlet asked with a smile as she was always told her father was one of the strongest people in the universe.
"Yep," Neo smirked as the two entered their home to see Jason fast asleep on the couch with Roman sleeping on his stomach.
"I guess they're both tuckered out." Scarlet laughed as Neo took a picture.
Earth…
Gohan flew high in the air as he thought about his current situation. He was being forced to enter this year's World Martial Arts Tournament by his classmate Videl, and he had to figure out how to do that and not be recognized.
"This sucks. Why did she want me in this tournament so bad?" Gohan questioned.
"Plus, she wants me to teach her how to fly." Gohan sighed.
"So much for having a typical high school experience," Gohan muttered.
The Half Saiyan decided it would be best to enter as the Great Saiyaman though he remembered there were rules against helmets, which meant he needed to wear something else. Deciding it was best to ask Bulma for advice on that, he headed towards Capsule Corp.
When he landed, he greeted the elderly Briefs before entering the building and finding Bulma. Once more, he explained his situation, causing Bulma to have a little laugh all about Gohan's situation.
"Wow, it just seems like you can't get a break." Bulma laughed.
"I'll see what I can do," Bulma added as she walked off before returning with a head wrap and a pair of sunglasses.
"I think this should suffice enough for the tournament," Bulma said as Gohan put them on.
"This will work great! Thanks a lot, Bulma." Gohan thanked.
"Don't mention it. Though you going to the World, Martial Arts Tournament brings back lots of memories." Bulma sighed as she reminisced about the past.
"What's going on? Don't tell me your serious about that ridiculous costume, are you?" Vegeta questioned.
"What are you talking about, Vegeta? I think this is pretty cool!" Gohan exclaimed as he gave a wide grin.
"Why are you wearing that scarf now?" Vegeta inquired.
"It's because I'm entering the next World Martial Arts Tournament, and I can't use the helmet," Gohan explained.
"World Martial Arts Tournament? Well, now that sounds interesting. If you're going, then I may just join you." Vegeta smirked.
"Wait wha-?" Gohan stuttered.
"What? If you're going, then I'm going. I haven't had a good fight in a while." Vegeta replied.
"Well, fine, I guess that's okay." Gohan sighed.
"If you both are going, count me in as well!" Goku stated, shocking everyone present.
"Dad? Is that you?" Gohan questioned.
"Yep! King Kai is allowing me to talk to you at the moment because I can come back to Earth for a day. Since your gathering, I think it would be best to come then and see everyone!" Goku explained.
"Wait, you're able to return for a whole day?!" Gohan asked, getting a smile on his face.
"Yeah, I was waiting to use it for the right opportunity, especially now that Goten is old enough to remember my visit," Goku replied.
"If Kakarot is coming back, then I'm definitely joining this tournament." Vegeta smiled as he was excited to finally have a rematch with Goku after seven long years.
"This is great!" Gohan exclaimed.
"I'll be able to meet you all at the tournament, then once it's over, we can spend the rest of the day together too!" Goku said.
"Oh, I'm being told that I have to go. I'll see you guys there!" Goku added before the psychic connection was cut off.
"This is great. I'm going to tell everyone!" Gohan smirked as he flew off while Vegeta went to train Trunks more, for he too wanted to enter the tournament.
Gohan flew all around, first stopping at Kame House then at the Lookout to tell everyone the good news. When he did, Krillin, Piccolo, and Android 18 planned on entering the tournament as well. He soon landed outside his home before entering to tell his mother and little brother the news.
"ARE YOU SERIOUS!?" Chi-Chi questioned as they all ate dinner.
"Yeah, Dad's coming back for a day to participate in the tournament and see us," Gohan responded.
"Oh, this is amazing! Goten you get to meet your father!" Chi-Chi exclaimed as Goten looked a bit confused.
"By the way, Mom, can I um participate in the tournament as well?" Gohan inquired.
"What?! Absolutely not you have school!" Chi-Chi snapped.
"But they have a cash prize, and I'm not lying as well," Gohan replied.
"Cash prize, how much?" Chi-Chi asked, apprehensive about the deal as Gohan explained how the prizes worked.
"If that's true, then if you or your father get to first and second place, we'll have enough money to put you both through college!" Chi-Chi exclaimed.
"So can I take a month off school to train with Jason?" Gohan inquired.
"Yeah, sure, whatever you need to get ready for the tournament," Chi-Chi responded, clearly having been won over by the money.
"Can I train to Gohan?" Goten asked.
"Sure!" Gohan answered as they continued eating dinner.
The Next Day…
Gohan and Goten run around the forest to get to a spot to train. Unfortunately, Jason was unable to train with him as he was busy with his newborn and would see if he could come soon. Though that was true, Jason also couldn't come because he didn't want to raise Babidi's suspicion.
No doubt the wizard would expect the Supreme Kai to intervene, and bringing a strong warrior, not of Earth, would be ideal. Eventually, the two brothers stopped at a clearing and prepared to begin training.
"Okay, Goten, how much do you know about fighting?" Gohan asked.
"Only from what Mom taught me and with my spars with Trunks," Goten responded, surprising Gohan.
"Mom taught you how to fight?" Gohan questioned in disbelief.
"Just a little. She said I should know how to defend myself." Goten explained.
"I see," Gohan murmured.
"Well, then show me what you've got," Gohan smirked as he got into battle position.
Goten jumped up and threw several punches at Gohan, who blocked each one with ease before switching to kicks. The two moved all over with their fight as Goten was unable to get any hits in on his older brother.
However, the more they fought, the better Goten got at fighting as his skills sharpened though not to the same degree as Gohan. They continued to fight as they bounced up a small mountain until they reached the top. When they got there, Gohan leapt to the air and floated there above Goten.
"No fair, I can't fly!" Goten complained.
"Really? Well, I'll teach you then." Gohan stated as he landed before remembering something.
"Oh crap! I forgot Videl is coming over to learn how to fly!" Gohan shouted as he turned to see her fly by in her Capsule Copter.
"Goten, let's head back for a bit," Gohan said as he ran towards home with Goten following close by.
Other World…
King Kai, along with Evan, watched Goku as he trained for the upcoming World Martial Arts Tournament. Currently, Goku was shadow boxing in the sky as he had weights on all four of his limbs, each weighing two tons.
"Every time I see a Saiyan train, I feel smaller in comparison." Evan sighed.
"Well, maybe you should stop looking or maybe just keep training more." King Kai laughed.
"Yeah, I'm still sore from yesterday, so no thanks. I still find it odd that I can even get sore." Evan replied.
"Say, Goku, how does the weight feel?" King Kai inquired.
"I think I got the hang of it, so I'm ready for the next level!" Goku called.
King Kai proceeded to increase the weights by another ton, causing Goku to slump down from the increased weight. But no sooner than it happened did Goku pick himself back up and go back to training with the new weight.
"It's still crazy thinking how he's going back to Earth for a tournament. Saiyans always think about fights, don't they." King Kai laughed.
"Yeah, but at least he gets to see his kid in a way he can remember." Evan pointed out.
"If you didn't use up your time already, you could have too." King Kai replied.
"If I didn't go, I wouldn't have a kid," Evan stated.
"Oh yeah." King Kai murmured.
"Still though…" Evan began before deadpanning.
"I wish I could go back and hold my son," Evan murmured as King Kai, and Goku sweatdropped at the sad atmosphere that emanated from Evan.
"Well, at least you can watch over him." Goku reminded.
"Yeah…" Evan sighed as he got up.
"So, are you going to use the new transformation you have while you're there?" Evan asked.
"I don't know. The only person who could go against it from what we know is Jason, and he's busy with his new kid." Goku replied.
"I would advise against it, Goku. We have no idea what effects the new form will have on you in the mortal plain so try not to go overboard." King Kai advised.
"Fine," Goku whined, a little disappointed that he wasn't allowed to use the new transformation he had worked years into obtaining.
Earth…
Vegeta shadowboxed around Capsule Corps gravity chamber as Trunks struggled to walk around behind him. They were under at least one hundred and fifty times Earth's gravity, and while Vegeta broke a sweat, Trunks was struggling to do anything.
"Trunks, if you can't handle the gravity, get out before you hurt yourself," Vegeta ordered without turning around.
"No way I can do it too!" Trunks declined.
"That wasn't a suggestion," Vegeta replied as Trunks stopped walking, struggling to even stand. Eventually, Vegeta turned off the increased gravity and picked his son up to take him to the door.
"Don't hurt yourself," Vegeta stated as he placed Trunks outside.
"Hey, just because I'm a kid doesn't mean I can't handle things!" Trunks shouted.
"You can't even go Super Saiyan, yet so I know you can't handle the gravity setting we were under," Vegeta replied.
"No way I'm going to enter that tournament too!" Trunks declared.
"Oh really?" Vegeta questioned.
"Yeah, I bet Goten will also join once he hears Gohan's joining." Trunks responded, which got Vegeta thinking.
"Are you stronger than Goten?" Vegeta inquired.
"Yeah, a little bit, plus he can't fly yet." Trunks answered.
"I see," Vegeta murmured as he pulled Trunks back in and turned the gravity chamber on but halved the settings.
"Let's change that then," Vegeta smirked as Trunks began training once more.
Son Family Home…
Gohan sighed as he watched Videl struggle to get off the ground to fly. It had been a few hours since she arrived, and in that time, he had explained to his mother why she was there, taught Videl and Goten the basics of flying, and finally, he had to instruct Videl on the basics of energy.
Needless to say, during that time, Gohan had little to no training for himself. Currently, Videl was about a few inches off the ground with her eyes shut to concentrate while Goten was flying around happily.
"I'm glad Goten was able to pick it up so fast, but I wish he would take it slow, so it doesn't bother Videl." Gohan thought as he looked at his little brother.
"Guh! How are you able to do this so easily?!" Videl cried as she fell to the ground and onto her knees.
"Well, I had years of practice. I was pretty bad at first, too, so don't feel too bad." Gohan replied.
"Your brother doesn't seem to have a problem." Videl pointed out as the two looked at Goten, who was making loop de loops in the air.
"Well, uh…he's had lots of practice with energy control, so…" Gohan chuckled nervously.
"Where did you learn this stuff anyway? My Dad always said stuff like this was just fake when he went up against Cell." Videl inquired.
"Uh…well…" Gohan stuttered, trying to think of a way to explain it without telling Videl her father was a liar.
"I had a good mentor as a kid, and my Dad taught me the rest," Gohan explained, leaving out most of the key details.
"But who taught them?" Videl asked as Gohan began to sweat nervously.
"They uh figured it out after learning energy control. If you look at the older World Martial Arts Tournaments before your Dad's, you'll see people using it a lot." Gohan responded.
"Wow, I never really watched the old ones before because none of the people from those tournaments came to the tournament my Dad entered," Videl replied.
"Well, you'd be surprised at what you would see." Gohan laughed as he noticed how the sun was setting.
"It's getting late. You should probably head home. If you continue to practice like this, you'll end up flying fine." Gohan said.
"Okay, I'll be back tomorrow," Videl stated.
"Wait, but I don't have anything else to teach you!" Gohan complained.
"What? Is it a problem?" Videl questioned with a glare.
"Uh…no, not at all." Gohan stammered.
"Good." Videl smiled as she took out her Capsule Copter.
"By the way, Videl, you may want to cut your hair," Gohan suggested.
"What? Why?" Videl questioned.
"Do…Do you like girls with short hair?" Videl inquired as her heart began to beat a bit faster. She'd be lying if she didn't think Gohan wasn't attractive but did he like her?
"No, it just makes it easier when flying and fighting. Your hair will get in the way during that." Gohan advised as Videl glared at Gohan.
"That's none of your business!" Videl shouted as she got in her copter and flew off.
"Uh…sorry." Gohan stuttered as he stared in disbelief, only to be later told by his mother how girls were sensitive about their hair.
Though Videl still gave Gohan's words more thought as she looked at herself in the mirror, twirling her hair. She thought about it for a while and eventually took out some scissors and cut her own hair short. It was a little messy, but she made it work.
"I wonder if he'll like it?" Videl wondered.
Remnant…
Jason was sitting at the desk in his and Neo's room getting his schedule free for when he would go to Earth. He didn't want to accidentally forget an appointment for a job. The last thing he needed was to lose some reputation and money to support his family.
"Looks like I'm all set." Jason smiled as his door opened, revealing his wife.
"Are the kids in bed?" Jason asked as Neo entered the room and closed the door quietly.
"Yep, I just got Roman to bed, and Scarlet went to sleep an hour ago, so…" Neo began as she used her semblance to change her clothes into lingerie, causing Jason to blush.
"Wha-wha-what are you doing?!" Jason questioned as Neo sat on his lap.
"It's been months since we last had some fun, and since the kids are asleep, I thought we could catch up on lost time," Neo smirked.
"You do have a point, but what if they wake up?" Jason questioned.
"That's why we installed the soundproofing." Neo reminded.
"Oh right. Well, good thing I'm already done then." Jason smiled as the two of them went to kiss.
However, just before the two could embrace, the door to their room swung open, and Scarlet ran into the room. Neo immediately changed back to normal as she fell off Jason and Scarlet ran to the two of them.
"Scarlet! Is uh, something wrong?" Jason asked though his thoughts were praying to the Kais that his daughter didn't see what he and Neo were doing.
"I had a nightmare." Scarlet cried as Jason and Neo pulled her into a hug.
"It's okay. It was just a dream." Jason assured.
"B-But I saw a monster, and you and Mommy weren't there," Scarlet replied as Neo patted her head.
"It's okay. We're here now." Jason comforted as he picked his daughter, who clung to him.
"I'll take her back to bed," Jason said as Neo gave him a nod. Jason took Scarlet back to her room and tucked her back into bed.
"See, everything's all right." Jason smiled.
"You know for someone who wants to be strong like me one day shouldn't be scared by a simple nightmare." Jason teased.
"That's not funny, Dad," Scarlet replied.
"I know, but remember that some little monster won't be able to hurt you. You're Half Saiyan after all, and one day you'll be stronger than any monster you could ever see in your dreams." Jason reminded.
"But you and Mom don't let me train yet, and I can only make a small ball of energy," Scarlet murmured.
"Hey, your plenty strong. When I was your age, I wasn't half as strong as you were, and I didn't even know how to bring out Ki." Jason began.
"You're going to become very strong one day, so don't let some silly dream scare you. And until then, your Mom and I will be here to protect you." Jason assured as he gave her a kiss on her forehead.
"Now go to sleep. I don't want you to stay awake too long, and if you get scared again, then just remember what I told you. Oh, and you still have Martuin too." Jason reminded as he picked up Scarlet's favorite turtle plush and gave it to her.
Scarlet had had that toy since she was born. It was something Neo had gotten for her, having seen it in a store while pregnant with Scarlet and felt her kick. She had explained that she saw it as a sign and got it for Scarlet to have when she was born.
When Scarlet took hold of the turtle, Jason stayed by her side until she went to sleep. He left her room before returning to his own, seeing that his wife had fallen asleep, decided to join her. The next day Jason was going to be meeting with the Supreme Kai to discuss the plan further.
"I just hope we can make this work." Jason thought as he went to sleep.
Earth…
Gohan flipped over Goten as the younger sibling attacked him. The two were training for The World Martial Arts Tournament, though, for the most part, Gohan sharpened Goten's skills. It was the short amount of time they had to train after Videl left for that day.
Surprisingly for Gohan, she had actually cut her hair short like he had suggested even though she had an outburst about it. With every passing interaction with her, Gohan became more and more confused about girls.
"You're getting really good, Goten. How about we begin learning energy attack?" Gohan suggested as the two stopped sparing.
"That sounds like fun!" Goten exclaimed.
"Alright, then I'll teach you how to do the Kamehameha," Gohan replied.
For the next hour, Gohan then began to teach his little brother the Kamehameha of which Goten picked up pretty fast. As Goten practiced with the energy attack, Gohan went off to practice with Super Saiyan 2 to keep himself in the best shape.
"Wow, is that Super Saiyan?" Goten inquired as he approached his brother. The young Half Saiyan had heard of the form from the stories his brother had told him.
"Actually, this is Super Saiyan 2." Gohan clarified.
"Wow, your power is really big!" Goten smiled.
"If you keep training, then one day, you'll achieve this form as well," Gohan replied.
"But you'll have to achieve Super Saiyan first, and you're a little too young for that," Gohan added.
"Says who?" Goten questioned.
"I was about ten or eleven when I turned Super Saiyan, so I can't say if you're old enough yet," Gohan explained as it was in the Time Chamber that he achieved the form.
"I'll definitely get it one day!" Goten smirked.
"Sure you will." Gohan smiled.
"Hey Gohan, how strong is Dad?" Goten asked.
"He's pretty strong, and knowing him, he's probably still training in Other World, so who knows how strong he is now," Gohan answered.
While Gohan was stronger than his father when he battled Cell, seven years had passed, and knowing his father, no doubt he would still be training. Goku definitely would be pushing himself farther after seeing both Gohan's power and especially Jason's power.
Sometimes Gohan would consider trying to surpass the power of Super Saiyan 2, but he didn't know how. Unlike Jason, he didn't have his tail anymore, so the Super Saiyan Primal form was out of the question, and he had no idea if there was another way to surpass the power.
"Well, I don't really need to surpass the power anyway." Gohan thought as he returned to training.
The tournament was in a few weeks, and Gohan was going to get as much training in as he could. Without someone like Vegeta or Jason to spar with Gohan's training wouldn't be too fruitful, but it would be good enough for the tournament.
Remnant…
Jason sat crossed-legged in front of the Supreme Kai and Kibito, who sat on pillows they had summoned. They were in a small clearing near Jason's home and were there to discuss what their plan would be.
"So, how is this going to work?" Jason inquired.
"You and I are going to go to Earth and enter the World Martial Arts Tournament. Naturally, you'll need to disguise yourself so that it will be more tempting to take your energy." Shin began.
"Evidently, some of your friends will also take part in the tournament. This is good for us as it will bait Babidi more. If you are up against one of them, please get them to fight you with full power." Shin requested.
"I will be nearby to restore you and your opponent the second your energy is stolen, and then we'll be able to follow the culprits to where Babidi is," Kibito added.
"That is also when we will include your friends on Earth of this and give them a choice to join us or not," Shin said.
"As long as it is explained when I get into battle, then that's fine. I would like to tell them immediately, but I understand why we can't." Jason replied.
"I'll wear a cloak and use my birth name to avoid suspicion. I don't think Babidi knows that name." Jason stated.
"That is good. But I must make one thing clear. The goal of this mission is to stop the revival of Majin Buu. I've heard of your people's lust for battle, so I must request that you don't let that get the better of you, please." Shin requested.
"You won't have that problem with me. But if Buu does waken, I will use all the power I can amass to kill him." Jason assured.
"Thank you." Shin thanked.
"So, how will we be meeting up?" Jason inquired.
"We will not. I think it will be best that we show up separately so that it doesn't raise suspicion." Shin responded.
"I see I can do that," Jason replied as his scroll buzzed.
"Looks like I'm needed back home. Is there anything else we need to discuss about this?" Jason asked.
"No, that is all. We shall see you again during the tournament." Shin answered as he and Kibito stood, causing the pillows to disappear.
"Farewell," Shin said as the two disappeared. When they left, Jason got up and flew back to his home, where his family waited for him outside.
"Hope you weren't waiting for long." Jason smiled as he landed.
"Of course not," Neo replied as she held Roman.
"Alright then, let's get going," Jason said before he turned to his daughter.
"I'll be right back, Scarlet. Just wait here." Jason said as his daughter nodded. Jason placed a hand on Neo's shoulder and used Instant Transmission to bring her to the Xiao Long Rose home.
"Have fun on your girl's night out," Jason exclaimed as he took Roman from Neo.
"Thanks. I'll message you when I'm ready to be picked up." Neo thanked as she turned to meet up with Yang and Ruby.
Jason soon returned home, and he, Scarlet, and Roman went back into their house. As they entered, Jason thought about the upcoming tournament. If it had been any other occasion other than stopping Majin Buu, he would have loved to go up against his friends in it.
"Alright, how about we watch a movie while mommy's away?" Jason asked as he placed a sleeping Roman back into his crib.
"I want to watch an action movie!" Scarlet exclaimed.
"Okay, but you're going to have to keep it down so that you don't wake your brother," Jason replied.
"What are you thinking of watching?" Jason inquired as Scarlet took out a DVD and held it to her father.
"Aunty Ruby suggested this to me. She said it was her favorite." Scarlet explained as Jason looked at the movie.
"Oh yeah, I remember her talking about this back in Beacon," Jason smirked.
"Well, have a seat. I'll make some bags of popcorn." Jason said as he placed the movie in the DVD player.
The two spent the rest of the day watching the movie and taking care of Roman before Jason picked up his wife. When the kids were put to bed, Jason and Neo finally were able to have the quality time they had wanted the previous day without interruptions.
Earth Weeks Later…
Gohan readied himself for The World Martial Arts Tournament as he got into his costume and put on the bandanna and sunglasses. He looked at himself in the mirror doing several poses before joining his mother and brother outside, waiting on Bulma, who would pick them up.
"Oh, I wonder if Goku will recognize me? Maybe I should put on more makeup?" Chi-Chi gushed.
"You're fine, Mom. Dad won't care what you look like." Gohan commented.
"Yeah, plus you already spent four hours in the bathroom." Ox-King reminded.
"Are you excited to meet Dad Goten?" Gohan asked.
"Kinda. I'm a bit nervous." Goten admitted.
"He'll be ecstatic to meet you," Gohan assured as Bulma's ship landed in front of them.
"Hey, guys, ready to go?" Bulma questioned as the back opened up.
"Yep!" Chi-Chi exclaimed as they entered the ship and greeted their friends.
"Your really going to wear that get up for the tournament?" Krillin questioned as Gohan sat down.
"Yeah, of course, it's cool, right?" Gohan asked as Krillin sweatdropped.
"Sure…" Krillin sighed as they flew off.
"I still can't believe Goku's coming back. I wonder if he'll look any different." Bulma said.
"I'm sure Goku will be the same as he always is." Krillin pointed out.
"Though he may have trouble recognizing you with your hair." Yamcha chuckled.
"I bet Goku's still training too!" Master Roshi laughed.
"By the way, Vegeta, I wanted to ask you if you would reframe from using Super Saiyan during the tournament. I won't be doing it, and I'd rather not have people recognize us." Gohan requested.
"That sounds boring but fine. However, if I end up fighting Kakarot, I can't make any promises." Vegeta replied.
"I guess that's the best I'm going to get." Gohan sighed. Soon they arrived at the tournament site that was crowded with hundreds of people who came to watch the tournament.
"Wow, they really made this bigger, haven't they?" Krillin pointed out.
"Yeah, it's completely different from how small it was back in the day." Yamcha agreed.
"By the way, have you heard from Tien?" Krillin inquired.
"Yeah, apparently, he was busy, so he couldn't come," Yamcha answered.
"But where's Goku? Shouldn't he be here?" Bulma questioned.
"I don't know, but there's Piccolo." Gohan pointed out as he walked up to his old friend.
"Hey Piccolo, I'm glad you can come!" Gohan exclaimed.
"I'm happy to come, but I don't like how large the tournament has become nowadays," Piccolo replied.
"Have you seen my Dad yet?" Gohan asked.
"Not yet, sorry," Piccolo responded.
"Hey, it's Mr. Satan!" Someone shouted as the crowd around them ran up to see the false hero.
"It still surprises me that people love him so much," Piccolo murmured.
"I think it's fine as long as the attention is away from us," Gohan replied.
"Speaking of attention, don't you think that…outfit is a bit ridiculous? I'd say you stick out like a sore thumb." Piccolo asked.
"What do you mean this costume is pretty cool!" Gohan replied.
"Well, everyone's here now except Goku," Krillin stated.
"Where could he be?" Chi-Chi questioned, looking sad.
Suddenly the sound of teleportation was heard behind the group as they turned around to see none other than Son Goku himself. He still wore the same old Gi and looked no older than he was when he died as a halo floated over his head.
"Hey, everyone, how've you been?" Goku asked as his friends and family teared up from seeing him after so long before going in to hug him.
Son Goku has returned to the world of the living, now able to see his family and friends face to face. The World Martial Arts Tournament is about to begin, but how will Babidi interfere, if at all? Will Jason and the Supreme Kai be able to stop Buu's revival, and will the Z-Fighters be able to help? Find out Next Time!
Author's Note:
Hey, guys, welcome back. Today's chapter is shorter, but only because I didn't want to start the actual World Martial Arts Tournament here. Next chapter, I will focus more on the preliminaries, kid tournament, and the interaction between everyone.
If it wasn't obvious already, Trunks and Goten do NOT have Super Saiyan. I'm going to try to make the whole Buu arc a bit more serious, meaning the kids don't have Super Saiyan. Now that doesn't necessarily mean that a certain fusion won't happen.
So mostly, the tournament is going to remain the same, but once out of that, it'll be pretty different. Now I just want to say this I know that Babidi is technically Bibidi's clone and that it was a translation error, but I really just don't think it really matters.
I knew that it was wrong when I wrote it, but since it literally changes nothing, I didn't care to fix it. Alright, changing subjects, I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter, and before I go, I'll get to the reviews:
P6lishb6kser – Yeah, that's something that was always weird as Gohan fell in love with the girl that blackmailed him XD. But then again, Saiyans are attracted to strong females.
Reader – I'm glad you're enjoying the story, and I'll be doing my best when I get to Super!
That's all I've got for you guys today. See you next time!
